It is a medieval book "claimed" to be written by a monk who broke his vows. He got locked up and was meant to be there till his death as a punishment. He made a deal with the monetary that he will write a book that contained all knowledge in the world.

During this time was when Christianity and ridiculous beliefs in god, angels, demons and blaming people for witchery were very strong. The fact that a monk, due to his artistic nature painted and gave an unusual, very dark illustration of the devil and the fact that the level of illiteracy was at its highest....well obviously a world full of illiterates are usually easiest to manipulate and can accept with their deepest fear that it was the devil's bible

It was never a devil's bible but a very good writer, story teller, artist among millions of medieval illiterates. Mind you it was full of exaggeration.

So I was watching this show on E! about a Hollywood Medium that specialises on performing for celebrities. Most of his 'readings ' were confirmed as true by the participants.

Personally I do not believe in spirituality of any kind. so this show got me rethinking my stance.

So I want to know, were they just acting? Is the medium a scammer that performs background check on each client before the actual 'reading'?

Is there another realm / are spirits real?
Mediums are people who have learned to manipulate energy in ways others don't know how to. A dog can hear and smell things you can't hear or smell. Not because those thing/smell are not there, you are not just focused/trained your senses enough to smell and hear them.

Some Mediums are naturally aware of energy fields swimming around us.

Particles vibrating! Why not the Soul.
A man is a Trinity composed of His Body, Soul and Spirit.
Yes you are right. The reason for saying man is trinity is because Spirit(that is a religious term) or a particle(scientific) vibrated between Heighest frequency(consciousness/steam) medium frequency(water/electromagnetic energy) and lower frequency(matter/ice). Those three stages. So you shift between these stages based on vibration.

Yes it looks like believe system influence what is seen. However, Muslims don't see Allah, Hindus don't see anyone. The categories of beings seen include Being of Light, Dead relatives, Angels and Jesus.
Yes

Powerful spiritual people including your GrandMa may have the power of out of body experiences. Man is a trinity. What she said is most likely true but I don't think it has to do with Near Death Experience Out of Body Experience may be a better phrase.
I think she was more aware of herself and she had that control over what she experienced.

She believed she was energy and will return back to it. During her earthly time she owned no possession because she felt it was vanity. She was really in-tune with nature. She would thank the chicken and plant for the meal and not god.

Can you share the details of your dream experiences with us, so we can help you to determine whether they constitute evidence of an afterlife?

Yes, definitely. Also, it's likely that you had some reason to fear her death. For example, she may have been ill at the time. What was the cause of her death in the dream, and what was the cause of her death in real life?

You dream a lot, and 80% of your dreams come to pass. Wow! Why haven't you started your own religion? Can you share the details with us?
For example in some dreams of mine, I saw the the Union Jack of Great Britain Divided into different parts and England's flag standing alone before the Br-exit election.

I will share some. Just dreams OK,I am no prophet and will not claim to be one. Just dreams!

I told my friends that I dreamed br-exit will happen and Scotland will leave the UK. Br-exit happened and now Scotland is planning to leave.

The Common wealth will dis-integrate and Australia and Canada will seek independence from the British Monarch.

Prince Charles will try to rule England and the people will say no. Prince Harry will be exposed as a bastard son of Diana etc The Uk will have a black president who will confront the rising war versus Islam

I told a close friend of mine I dreamed he would be deported back to Nigeria 4 months back, now he is in the Immigration deportation center awaiting deportation order(although he is fighting the case)

One day I dreamed I saw lots of rats attacking my phone and I was panicking. I wondered why that would be. I woke up to find out that my wife was reading all my text messages and all hell was let lose that day.

Sometimes they don't happen but usually close. I have a friend who normally says,"If Ife doesn't dream about it nothing will happen". That's how much he think highly of my dreams.

Dreams are dreams just as Chris brown is a great dancer, which I am not. You have a great business mind which I don't have,so no religion is necessary.

When a particle vibrates at a high speed,it does have the tendency to cover more space in less time. Such is the case of NDEs. A partial dead person experiences super-humans or God-like ability while near death to the physical world.

Belief system also determines the experience this persons explains if they happen to come back to physical realities. The Muslims meet Allah,Hindus meet Krishna and Christians meet Jesus due to what their brains have been programmed with,An atheist sees the vast Galaxies while or experiences all his parallel lives or past lives as some could understand it.

My Grandma who was an Ifa Priest spoke about visiting all her Children, including the ones Canada and the UK within in seconds she fell unconscious. She felt so powerful and fit like an athlete. She knew every answers to every questions she could ever imagine. She realized that death is bliss and shouldn't be feared. She looked forward to dying but died 2 years after with a big smile on here face.

To different people, different NDEs due to beliefs.

Got questions never mentioned about Osiris' brother Set and how he got Horus' eyes gouged out after he defeated Osiris - I clearly mentioned that . There are others too

- Horus fell in love with the goddess of Love while Christ died a single man with no lover at all .
- Horus also defeated his devious uncle Set in battle while Christ's uncle was never mentioned .

-Horus was practically a war god while Christ was a lover of peace and advocate on non violence

In addition to that , the fact remains that there are no verifiable accounts of Horus' "life" on earth . Christ is a Historical Figure .

The pictures you posted comparing Horus and Christ have been on the internet already .
Mythology often come with different stories. Horus had other death stories. One claimed he was killed by a scorpion(meaning in the month of Scorpio) while another claimed by an Archer(meaning in the month of (Sagittarius). All are representative of betrayal and death.

Judas was claimed to have kissed Jesus(Scorpio represented Judas giving the Sun the kiss of death in Winter) and was latter hanged on the tree

Acts 5:30, The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

Acts 13:29, And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulcher.

Acts 10:39 ,And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

Another book of the bible claimed it was Crucifixion on a cross. A cross is obviously different to a tree

John 19:19
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Mark 15:30
30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

Matthew 27:42
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

What I am trying to say is the stories could be said in many ways but the focus should be the Astrological meaning. Whether Jesus's story included dying as a virgin or having a wife with children,it doesn't matter. Krishna,Mithra had similar stories but different narratives too.

Christ means Light and the light of the world is the Sun. Darkness is the opposite of the Sun,which kills the Sun at night, only for the Sun to rise from the dead in the morning. This applies to Seth, the God of the underworld, darkness etc Horizon came from the word Horus too, which means Horus-rising,rising Sun etc

Have you ever asked yourself what "Sunday" means and why do you go to church on Sundays?

KingEbukasBlog:
Alright , here is my rebuttal .

Proof 1 : Horus was born during month of Khoiak which is between October and November not December 25. Plus the bible did not mention the actual birth date of Christ .

Proof 2 : Horus was never baptized. Just one story that involves water - where Horus is torn to pieces, with Isis requesting the crocodile god to fish him out of the water.

Proof 3 : Horus never had any 12 disciples instead he had four demigods that followed him, and about 16 human followers and an unknown number of blacksmiths that went into battle with him.

Proof 4 : Horus was never betrayed by a friend

Proof 5 : Horus did not die by crucifixion. There are so many versions of Horus’ death, but none of them involve crucifixion.

Proof 5 : Horus was never buried for three days.

Proof 6 : Horus was not resurrected. Horus was only brought back to life by Isis , according to some accounts of his life , and then becoming the lord of the underworld.

Proof 7: Horus was no saviour who died for anyone and there are no accounts of Horus being a teacher at the age of 12.

Proof 8 : In one of the accounts , Ra's other son Set killed Horus' father , Osiris , out of envy . None of such occurred with Joseph , Jesus' earthly father .

Proof 9 : Horus had one of his eyes gouged out by Set . Jesus never witnessed such .

Proof 10 : There are two logical fallacies in your claim that Christ's story was a rehash of Horus' . consider two fallacies in particular:
(i) Post hoc ergo propter hoc
(ii) terminological fallacy.

(i) : Post hoc ergo propter hoc : It states that since event Y followed event X, event Y must have been caused by event X. Where X= the life of Horus and Y = life of Christ . You can't conclude that the life of Christ was invented or caused by the life of Horus because it shares some sort of similarity with the life of Horus .

(ii) : Terminological fallacy : : This occurs when words are redefined to prove a point .

Example :

Baptism - this was redefined to assume a correlation with Christ's baptism when Horus is torn to pieces, with Isis requesting the crocodile god to fish him out of the water.

Ministry - this was redefined too . Horus never had any form of ministry .

Proof 11 : Christ's history is verifiable . Christ as well was his disciples even Judas Iscariot are historical people . While Horus' story is purely mythical and obviously false .
Someone quoted me this before sometimes last years on nairaland. http://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-myth.html is not credible

The site you got this from is a christian website of which the writer has probably never read the Egyptian book of the dead or visited the Efdu temple in Egypt, which is the Temple of Horus

Like I said Horus represents the Sun and his twelve disciples are the 12 Zodiac signs, same as Jesus.

You are better of getting a copy of the book and not a christian website. I got mine when I visited Egypt years ago and their is a copy at the British Library, but you can only read it there. However you can get a copy off amazon,water-stone if you desired.

Why are ancestors considered as part of the universal forces ? Looking directly at what reincarnation is , why should ancestors be venerated as practiced in Confucianism and Taoism while we are our own ancestors . You get ?
Good question. We are the ancestors,we are them in a parallel world. There is never a separation but an illusion of separation. You and I are one in the real sense. The One is the All and the All are the One. This is the first Universal law of the Universe according to the Ancient.

Both Jesus and Horus are the Sun coming in Virgo, dying in Sagittarius and resurrecting in Aries and being at their brightest in Leo. You do realize that the name Jesus is not Hebrew at all?

Horus shares the same birth and death stories not only with Jesus, but with Krishna,Mithra,Dionysus,Attis and others. Different era, different Sun God. It is all Astrology buried in Mythology.

If you will defend Jesus, you might want to defend the rest also

One Egyptian god has an interesting comparison to the life of Jesus... a god known as Horus.

I have explained Horus as the Rising Sun(the Sun that appears in the morning).Horus was therefor called "Shed" by the Egyptians, which means Savior and surprisingly Jesus was also called "Savior" . This was an Astrological explanation of the Sun born in Virgo(woman,Isis)

Isis was told of her pregnancy by a divine spirit. When Isis gave birth to Horus, she did so in a cavern, surrounded by many animals. The time of his birth was around the winter solstice, or between the 21st and 26th of December.

When Set(the Night god,the opposite of Horus, the Morning god) heard of the birth of the child, and knowing who the child belonged to, he immediately ordered the child be killed. There was a warning given to Isis by the gods to get herself and Horus out of Egypt.

Horus is said to have been revealed his purpose at the age of 12 and a significant amount of time about him is unknown until the age of thirty.

He kept a select number of people very close to him, and was subject to temptation for a period of time from Set, who led him to a mountaintop and offered him equal ruling in Egypt if he would stand behind him... which Horus refused. After this time, he was said to teach a message of brotherhood and compassion for fellow man, and was highly respected by the people... and feared by those who wanted the power for themselves.

Horus was sentenced to deathby his own people, the very ones he was there to save. It is said that he then went on to rule at his father Osiris's side. Set, the uncle of Horus, was his adversary, much as Satan was the adversary of Jesus, son of God. It was said that when Horus was killed and resurrected, he would return and rule for a millennium... or one thousand years.

Does this story sound familiar?

That is the story of Horus which is similar to the Bible. If you want more proof the Bible is not original,I have all the time in the world to show you more.

Actually this is my first post on nairaland,I'm a comment reader and a post reader and I have observed how people do things here and I feel I should share my story, please don't criticise me or anything, I just need your help or advise, and please do read carefully to understand, and i am also sorry if i dont type this well,i'm not much of a writer. Thanks in advance

There's this guy I met at 3chub Ikeja,I actually went to ask if there was any standard rechargeable fan because i have been scammed alot by all these "fairly used" rechargeable fan,so i decided to buy a new one because they sell home appliances there, even though people say fairly used items are better which I chose to decline because this is 2016,and this buhari regime doesnt accomodate an extravagant spending.

I work in Lagos but I stay in mowe, and the electricity there isn't too good so that's why I'm getting the fan so even when the gen is off,i would have an alternative,so when I got to the store, the sales ambassadors offered me different brand rechargeable fan,but i later got a syinix rechargeable fan, because I was impressed with the number of months the warranty covers so I purchased it with my ATM card since I just came to inquire and not buy and I was cashless,I had to just use the POS *I'm only explaining all if these to give you a clearer understanding of the issue on floor*

After purchasing the fan, there was this guy that came to buy a gas cooker and we happened to meet and we both exchanged contacts with eachother and few months later we developed feelings and we had a relationship and we were doing the normal relationship vibe, until this week,he started acting up because I said no sex until marriage...he's a very nice person anyway,he helped me in so many ways(advices, financially, physically) but just because I said no sex until marriage,he's acting up already, although I have my reasons for abstaining until marriage anyway but my story is sad,and I don't know who to tell and I feel more comfortable telling people online because someone that knows me physically might not say the truth to me,because they don't want to hurt me,please I need matured comments even if it will hurt, just tell me

Although we aren't kids, but I'm just troubled because I love him a lot and I don't know what to do.

I'm a loner right now sad
Sex before marraige is necessary in other to access how sexually compatible one's potential partner is. A lot of people have fallen to no sex before marraige and then realised the man/lady is sexually non- appealing or deformed.
