Travel › Re: Canal Being Blocked In Agungi, Lekki. by ifyalways(f): 2:39pm On Nov 26, 2013
Esiere: The problem of the flooding on that bridge did not start with whoever is blocking the drainage, it actually started with those on the other side of the picture of the canal (posted)who built on the water passage. I had expected authority to take action all these years but I have given up on my expectation.

I do not know those who are blocking the canal and was actually taken aback to see sane people blocking a canal. I did more research and was able to get some information that will be of help. There is another road from Ajiran (Ajiran is located at the deep end of Agungi road. It is about 4 minutes drive down the bridge....the new road is off ajiran road almost opposite Ajiran transformer before you enter Ajiran community proper). The road leads you straight to Jakande road giving you access to friends' colony. Then when you are plying that new road , you will see a big canal constructed to channel the water to the lagoon (EKO BA JE TIIII) apparently diverting water from the blocked canal. I was impressed when I saw all these. The new road also helps you to cut out the Agungi - Jakande 6:20 - 8:30 morning traffic. Twin blessings for us.

Whoever is doing the new road is doing a lot of good job and I salute the effort.

As for the blocked canal, the people doing it must make sure everything is perfectly done and left no stone unturned.

I pray they will be able to find a lasting solution to the flooding problem in that area.

I will post the picture of the new canal and the new road once I have taken them(you will fall in love with those efforts)

Fashola , Father of New Lagos.
lol
Nothing is new about that road. It has been in existence as an abandoned project since whenever.
Travel › Re: Canal Being Blocked In Agungi, Lekki. by ifyalways(f): 2:36pm On Nov 26, 2013
I am not surprised anymore.

Nobody wants to take action because all of them,(Oba,Eleshin,Odofin and Alh Bakare) have collected money. The canal's problem started when people started selling/buying lands on either side of the canal. Some part of Friends colony are seated on top the canal. All those shops, residential buildings on either side would have to go and that canal raised up then re-connected to the main, bigger canal.

We dey observe. undecided

Family › Re: Is Marriage a Life time Commitment? Live Debate - Semi Finals by ifyalways(f): 10:16pm On Nov 24, 2013
See agreement.

Will that agreement hold water in Naija? I personally think that greater percent of people who co-habit in Naija do it for 2 reasons:
Desperate for marriage
Financial gains.(No or less rent,food)

Its a wedding, a public function so I go with the sole purpose of having fun and laughing. If at any point you can't endure others "idea of fun/table manners/whatever else" ,get up and leave. The party won't miss you,I guess.

@TV, I personally felt the debate was more of a Christian's POV(you can't be faulted though) because right from your opening line, you(and even Obino) defined marriage as a monogamous union.

Like I said earlier, neither you nor Obino can be faulted. If I were to debate too, I will be inclined to draw up my points from my own personal, religious beliefs.

nneh1: This is very pathetic. I had to warn my little cousin who is 18yrs not to send any text message to me if the grammar is not correct. All they know is abbreviation, wizkid, davido,p square, mikel obi, toyota camry etc. God have mercy on our educational system because it makes me weep.
On point!

Its pathetic. Check on Nairaland too. They abbreviate because they don't know the right spelling and they don't want to learn either.

Music/Radio › Re: Brymo - Merchants, Dealers And Slaves - Album Review by ifyalways(f):
First off,I love Brymo's voice. Its husky, rugged and yet finely exciting. Makes one curious, want more.

I love his music. He's different from the "crowd". Does his own thing.

"Eko" is simply the bomb. Cool track. I and my boys sing and dance along. The lyrics is on point, message soo true(reminds me of late Dagrin's "sisi eko"). "Down" is another banger .
