Politics › Re: Must Read: 30 Reasons Why Buhari Is Far Better Than Jonathan. by igbeke: 1:46pm On Mar 12, 2015 |
Jaypea98: 30 REASONS WHY BUHARI IS FAR BETTER THAN JONATHAN. 30 reasons why you should stop asking me why I'm campaigning for Buhari instead of Jonathan. 1, Jonathan says with government privatisation of power, generation and distribution companies will ensure regular power supplies in the future; Buhari says the mechanism of privatisation must be functional and effective to provide proper checks and balances. Buhari favours the exploration of non-oil sector, says economic diversification is the key to addressing falling global oil prices. 2, As PTF Boss, Buhari refused to get paid while serving, because he said he was already drawing a pension from the same government. Jonathan's wife was collecting allowance as First Lady while collecting another one as Perm. Sec. in Bayelsa. 3, Buhari was commissioned at just 19yrs of age, he grew through several offices and became head of state at 41, the same age Jonathan started politics. Buhari has been well groomed to be a leader at an early age. On the other hand, fate has been carrying Jonathan, but he didn't have proper political education especially when he was young. And a man cannot learn when he's too old. 4, Buhari has a visceral dislike for corruption, but Jonathan does not even know what corruption is, saying stealing is not corruption. 5, Buhari has a knack for ignoring unproductive criticism and feels neither threatened nor moved by it. He is not one of such politicians that display so much pettiness and hostility that is simply not productive. But many times we've seen Jonathan overshoot, making unpresidential statements out of emotions. 6, Jonathan has not done one single thing for Rivers State, but Buhari will implement UNEP Report on Ogoniland and represent a fresh opportunity for Rivers people. 7, Buhari is significantly more experienced, he's had the time to ruminate on some of his past choices and become wiser by them. Jonathan has been moving from office to office but is still inexperienced, he's still repeating the same mistakes and not learning from them. Experience is about the knowledge and skill acquired in a period of doing something. 8, Buhari dealt decisively with the dangerous Islamic terrorist group, Maitatsine, that rose up in his time, Jonathan has spent 6 years playing hide-and-seek with Boko Haram. 9, Buhari is a better liberal than Jonathan, He's already embraced all those who wronged him in the past, but Jonathan remains eternally vindictive. 10, Buhari is the only former or present President of Nigeria that does not own a property or land in Abuja. 11, Buhari returned excess money spent to the purse of the government on his return from oversea training as a military officer. Can Jonathan do that? 12, As PTF Boss, Buhari's achievement in the educational sector is still felt today, unlike Jonathan who gave licences for many federal universities that only exist on the back pages of newspaper. 13, A president is not he who can do everything, but he who can get the right people to do things for him. Buhari surrounds himself with competent people, but Jonathan said he has bad advisers. Even Jonathan's speech is full of errors, his speech writers are quacks. 14, Buhari's historic achievement in road construction as PTF boss has remained unrivalled, even when compared with the 16 years of the PDP government. Jonathan can't even finish the East-West road. 15, As PTF Boss, Buhari's achievement in the health sector remains unrivalled, but under Jonathan health workers have been going on incessant strike. It is criminal to completely neglect the health sector in a country like Nigeria. 16, Buhari sentenced the corrupt leaders in Nigeria to prison, but Jonathan has not convicted one person for corruption. The highest Jonathan achieved was a fine of 750, 000 naira For someone who admitted to stealing 23 billion naira. I bet the man paid the money from his atm machine. 17, Buhari reduced inflation from 23% to 4% through fiscal discipline, but under Jonathan, inflation became highest after he blundered by increasing the cost of energy consumption. 18, Buhari is more persistent than Jonathan. Prove is Buhari kept running for president even when he failed, but Jonathan failed to prosecute subsidy thieves because according to him, it's not easy. We need a persistent man to fight corruption, not a man who will chicken out at the first sign of failure. 19, Buhari has cult followership, most agent of change in history have cult followership. Buhari does not need to rent crowd for his rallies, but Jonathan can not host any rally without renting crowd, which shows he's lost the people's support. A man who has lost the people's support cannot bring change. 20, Buhari is a general in the Army, he can not outsource military duties to militant. Jonathan empowers militant and they are responsible for the high level of cultism and insecurity in the south-south. 21, Buhari is trustworthy, Pastor Tunde Bakare said of him, "All I need from Buhari is his word, I can take it to the bank". Jonathan on the other hand has said many things that he never does. In 2011, he made lots of promises to people, and disappointed all of them when it mattered. 22, A good leader discovers people, Buhari was the one who head-hunted Dora Akunyili to OBJ, Jonathan has not discovered one single person whom the nation can celebrate for his or her integrity. 23, Buhari is proudly married to a beautiful damsel and completely stands out in the family front compared to Jonathan who, with all due respect, looks to be the wife of Madam P. 24, Buhari birthed and supervised the establishment of the existing refineries in NIGERIA. It is a serious disservice that a Niger Delta Jonathan has not made one single improvement in the oil sector. 25, Buhari is matured and older, he's at an age where the only thing that appeals to him is leaving a legacy. The only legacy Jonathan would've left is an acceptable electioneering, but he's failed now with the Ekiti Gate and recent events surrounding this election. 26, Buhari will not be controlled by his wife or women, he can't even be controlled by others. Jonathan is controlled by his wife and the cabal that sponsored his election. 27, Buhari is decisive, Jonathan drags on and on before he finally does one thing, often time when it's too late. 28, Buhari's cook and driver for several years are Christians, Jonathan only pay lip-service to religious tolerance, I haven't seen the evidence in his personal life. 29, Buhari is a better christian than Jonathan. He does not drink, does not commit adultery. He refused to register Nigeria as a member of the OIC and banned government sponsorship of pilgrimages to Mecca. Jonathan on the other hand attends the Brotherhood Of the Cross and star, I don't have anything against them, but Christians in Rivers State refused to vote for Isokariari in 1999 because they said O.O.Obu is not a christian organisation. Jonathan is the first President to lead Nigerian delegation to the Organization of Islamic Countries in February 2013. He has spent an average of $14 billion on 26, 000 Haji pilgrims annually from 2010. 30, Buhari in his time showed know- how and that's why he accomplished a lot in just 20 months, but Jonathan sets committees after committees and never implements their recommendations. Anthony20: I am REALLY SURPRISED at the CALIBER OF PEOPLE that have befall this platform. So SORRY to say some are either VERY LOW or have LOST sense of fair presentation and judgement due to sentiments. What score do you need to pass any test, exams or evaluation? ACROSS the GLOBE IT IS 50 percent (50%). Any program that succeeds above 50 percent-50% is a POSITIVE SUCCESS. Please PDP and its cohort Leave JEGA alone! Leave PVCs alone Leave INEC alone Please go and do your home work. NIGERIA MUST MOVE FORWARD. I am in Kano and the EXERCISE was a success. Nigeria is braking away from its captors please stand up and be COUNTED. DO NOT STOP it otherwise see the PICS. You see how low u reason. This is efficiency we are taking about. For that Card Reader to be judged as acceptable, there must be about 95% reliability. And for a country with massive population like Nigeria, do you know what 5% of 170nillion represent? I think we should caution Jega not to lead this country into anarchy. |
Politics › Re: APC, PDP, Civil Society, INEC Disagreed Over Card Reader Performance In Kano by igbeke: 8:05pm On Mar 07, 2015 |
65% Nigerians registered for the elections 60% of the registered voters got their PVCs. 60% efficiency on the Card Reader. With a population of 170million....... It means only 39.78million Nigerians have the opportunity to decide the fate of the rest of us. So what do we call Jega? Your opinion is as good as mine. |

This woman should be proactive by being the first to head to court. She should sue for defamation of character. If asked whether she truly forged the Cert, she should admit. If asked why, she should simply tell the Court that is an APC Card Carrier. This will make a good case. She will end up scoring a very high political point. |

Politics › DAAR Replies Tinubu by igbeke(op): 7:12am On Mar 05, 2015 |
Daar Communications Plc has rejected in their entirety the demands of Tunji Abayomi and co on behalf of Bola Tinubu over a documentary titled “Unmasking The Real Tinubu” transmitted on Africa Independent Television, AIT. The demands, which Mike Ozekhome’s chambers describe as laughable, include the stoppage of further transmission of the alleged defamatory documentary, failure which daar communications will be made to pay twenty billion Naira representing damages. In its reaction, Mike Ozekhome’s chambers on behalf of DAAR communications declares that AIT, in transmitting the documentary was only carrying out its constitutional responsibility to uphold the fundamental objectives of the constitution. It states further that the documentary merely stated that Bola Tinubu generally breached various portions of the Nigerian constitution. DAAR communications Plc is therefore demanding a complete withdrawal of the letter under reference, which must be given wide publicity as that accorded the letter from the chambers of Tunji Abayomi. The media company demands an apology to be published in at least four leading national newspapers and four television stations, which must include NTA, Channels and AIT. The sum of N100 billion representing aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages for the irreparable injury inflicted on AIT is also being damaged. www.aitonline.tv/post-daar_replies_tinubu |

donpetros: I was in Katsina last week to collect my PVC (since I registered there and intends to vote there) but was directed to go to state INEC office. I got there and was told that my PVC got burnt, I demanded for better explanation since this sounded lame and was directed to an office where I saw several PVC's on the floor in one corner. When the officer in the office saw me, he was so furious as he demanded who asked me to come here. All that I explained made no sense to him as he kept saying my PVC got burnt and a new one won't be ready before the elections. One of them told me, that's what they've been telling non indigenes since January. I left the office angry. I used to have faith in Jega's INEC but seems they've devised strategy to influence the polls results by stopping some people from voting. Are you surprised? samething here in Lagos. Most non indegenes are denied of their PVCs. It piss me off when I see some people denying it. I must say Jega is sold out. Hence he has failed from onset. Notwithstanding this, I can assure whoever cares to know that GEJ will win and Jega will be shown exit door. |

Members of the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram that are running away from the fire-power of our Troops are calling for ceasefire and immediate stop to hostilities. The group that has lost almost all their camps in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa are distributing flyers in Potiskum and Yobe areas in Adamawa state asking for ceasefire as they are fleeing for safety. The $1Billion request from President Jonathan was delayed by the House of Representative for nearly 5 Months and Nigerians lost over 148 soldiers using war equipment used during the Biafran war. In the last three weeks, the war planes, attack Helicopters, armoured vehicles with Night vision, Body armour for the Boys ordered have arrived and the Boko Haram and their supporters are not finding it funny. Nearly 400 Members of Boko haram got drowned last week while trying to escape through the Lake Chad river. We are NOT interest in any ceasefire or amnesty as the time for such policies has expire. It is fight to finish. FOR THE ONLINE SUPPORTERS OF BOKO HARAM, IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH WHAT OUR GALLANT TROOPS ARE DOING, PLEASE JOIN BOKO HARAM IN THE BUSH. Nigeria will surely overcome. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT. We BELIEVE IN GOODLUCK JONATHAN and supports his re-election.

I think jonathan is worse than Badluck, he is also an evil hypocrite who uses the blood of some Nigerians to perpetuate himself in power! He has debased and corrupted every institution of power in order to win reelection.
So for those saying it was an insult on the seat of presidency, I disagree! Jonathan as of today is only an Ijaw President and not that of Nigeria!
So the so called insult if any, was an insult to the Ijaw people and the peace loving Nigerians! You are a goat. |
Politics › Re: PDP Buying PVCs For 10,000 Naira Each - Says APC by igbeke: 8:01pm On Feb 10, 2015 |
biosepeter1: The All Progressives Congress, APC, has raised the alarm that some people suspected to be agents of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have resorted to underhand tactics, including the purchase of PVCs and the intimidation of some voters to seize their PVCs, in the wake of the recent postponement of the general elections.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also said a company, Agro-Allied Communities Service Nigeria Limited, has been formed ostensibly to provide 50,000 Naira loan each to ‘empower’ women. It said, however, that anyone seeking to get the loan must provide her PVC as ‘collateral’, which is basically the essence of the establishment of the company that is supposedly a private concern but in reality a PDP front to mop up PVCs, especially in opposition strongholds.
APC said it is now getting clearer by the day what the PDP-led Federal government sought to gain by forcing the postponement of the elections for six weeks – which is to perfect their rigging plans.
The party warned those behind the abhorrent acts to desist from such tactics, which reflect the desperation by some people to hold on to power at all cost, even when it is clear that Nigerians have widely rejected them due to non performance, massive corruption and profligacy under their watch.
It also appealed to its members and supporters in particular, and Nigerians in general, not to sell their PVCs under any guise, saying that is the only power they have to effect a meaningful change that can ensure the deliverance of democratic dividends to them.
”Our members have alerted us to the fact that PDP agents have been operating in all villages between Kobape and Orile-Imo along the Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State, giving 10,000 Naira to each poor villager and collecting their PVCs. The PDP agents are also promising each villager a monthly stipend of 10,000 Naira if and when their party assumes office in the state.
”Indications are that this objectionable PVC mop-up is being replicated in all opposition strongholds by the frenzied PDP, hence we at the APC have decided to alert the nation to the reprehensible act,” APC said.
The party also said that some Immigration personnel, acting under the guise of arresting illegal aliens with voter cards, are dispossessing a lot of unsuspecting locals in the northern part of the country of their PVCs. These unsuspecting people are arrested and their cards seized, all in an attempt to disenfranchise them.
Presidency bitter with Jega for excusing elections postponement on security chiefs ”This act of desperation is totally unacceptable and must stop forthwith. Every voter should be allowed to exercise his or her franchise in accordance with his/her conscience, without intimidation or inducement,” it said.”We hope this is not part of the reasons that the PDP relentlessly campaigned for a postponement of the elections, so it can engage in PVC purchase and the disenfranchisement of innocent Nigerians through harassment and intimidation.”
