Sorry that I have to ask this. Over fifty Nigerian Students were killed overnight on Satuday/Sunday. A Boat was said to have capsided in River Niger and a lot of lives were wasted. All these, coupled with the incessant killings by the Fulanis. To me, Yesterday (Sunday) and today are supposed to be declared "black days" Nigeria. (my opinion) I was suprised the President could still make it to the TV sreen yesterday, while all government parameters were uninterupted. What is going wrong with us as a people, or am I being over-emotional? Your take pls. |

LastApostle: They told him it's one Nigeria and he bought the deception. Even the fulanis with their herds grazes through his village for sure.No one can say it better than u just did. The whole blame is on Southern leaders who should be negotiating a peaceful separation by now. but wat do we.have? sorry to say, most of them are blinded by some selfish gains dey make from d unholy marriage while their subjects are been slaughtered daily to appease dis demon of unity called nigeria. too bad. if anyone complains abt killings up north, wat abt dos unannaounced daily slughter in d south by d normadic fulanis? what if it were d other way round, u tink dey will be silent? wen d time comes, no one will remind us dat it is more heroic to die for something dan to live for nothing. also remember dat only cowards die a million times before deir death. |

I saw this on my facebook wall and think I shoild share it, perhaps it could "minister" to someone's need: This is my advice for all Ladies. I'm sorry If it will annoy you but it's the Truth, you really have to take correction now. Dear ladies, Firstly, if you are still struggling to find a husband at an old age because you are looking for a perfect man, Something is wrong with you, Sorry to say that but it's true. Your propaganda magazine tells you that 'All men are liars, cheats and useless, but let’s be honest here, which is more likely?. Is it that there’s something wrong with about 70million African men, OR there is something wrong with one African Woman? Ladies, you certainly will not get into a blissful matrimony if you are always hanging out with your so called girlfriends every night at a beer palour or bar and waiting for a guy to buy you a drink and take you home. Drinking yourself to stupor every Friday and Saturday nights does not exactly make you look like a marriage material. You want a man?. Invest in a good wardrobe, and dress responsibly. When a man comes to you, smile and be polite, even if he does not fit your mental image of your kind of man. Ladies please and please, stop going into a relationship with a chip on your shoulder. If you believe all men are bad and all men are Dogs, then it will become a self fulfilling prophesy. No man is perfect!. Even you!. You say you can't marry a blue collar guy like a mechanic or carpenter. If a carpenter was good enough to marry MARY THE MOTHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST", why isn't one good enough for you?. Do not focus on where a man is now, but look and see where he has the potentials to be. What’s the point of being beaten to a pulp every night by some rich, good looking and non caring man?. Do you want a future where you will sit in a traffic in your car with sunglasses covering your swollen eyes, you look out of the window and see a happy couple in a Tuk Tuk holding hands and laughing like newly wedded couple even after 12 years of marriage. Please don’t fake pregnancy or get pregnant to trap him. Your perfect man is out there, believe, work and pra'y and you will get him. Pls read and digest it properly. have a lovely weekend. |

President of the Senate, David Mark, on Tuesday said the call for national conference by certain sections of the country was in order in view of the discontent in the polity. Mark, while welcoming senators from their seven- week annual vacation, said every matter about the union of ethnic groups that made up the country should be opened to discussion though with the proviso that the dismemberment of the country should be a no-go area. He said that the country could not continue to shy away from discussing national issues in view of the discontent in the polity and present global realities. The Senate President said, “We live in very precarious times, and in a world increasingly made fluid and toxic by strange ideologies and violent tendencies, all of which presently conspire to question the very idea of the nation state. “But that is not to say that the nation should, like the proverbial ostrich, continue to bury its head in the sand and refuse to confront the perceived or alleged structural distortions which have bred discontentment and alienation in some quarters. “This sense of discontentment and alienation has fueled extremism, apathy and even predictions of catastrophe for our dear nation. “A conference of Nigeria’s ethnic nationalities, called to foster frank and open discussions of the national question, can certainly find accommodation in the extant provisions of the 1999 Constitution which guarantee freedom of expression, and of association. “It is welcome. Nonetheless, the idea of a National Conference is not without inherent and fundamental difficulties. Problems of its structure and composition will stretch the letters and spirit of the Constitution and severely task the ingenuity of our constitutionalists.” But Mark, in tandem with the typical fear of those already in power, wanted a national conference premised on existing governance structure, saying giving the sovereignty to an “unpredictable mass” to determine the fate of the country “will be too risky a gamble and may ultimately do great disservice to the idea of one Nigeria.” He in fact said “it would be unconstitutional to clothe such a conference with constituent or sovereign powers.” He said, “Let me counsel that we make haste slowly, and operate strictly within the parameters of our Constitution as we discuss the national question. “Be that as it may, such a conference, if and whenever convened should have only few red lines, chief among which would be the dismemberment of the country. Beyond that, every other question should be open to deliberations. “The task of nation building requires patience, faith, scrupulous honesty, diligence, dedication, sacrifice, toil, labour, assiduous application and massive investments in our future. The heights attained by great nations were not made by sudden flights. “Our people long for a country in which our tremendous potentials as a nation are transparently and equitably nurtured and realised; a country in which law reigns supreme, and is applied evenly and equally to all, high and low. “For our constituents, there is no alternative to the democratic project. What they dread, and will never want, is a nation trammeled by impunity, brigandage, banditry, insurgency, rampant corruption, and misgovernance. “These expectations perfectly dovetail into our core constitutional mandate of making laws for the good government of our federation, and all of its parts.” Mark lamented that despite the fact that the 2015 general election was still two years away, some “political jobbers, sycophants, and hustlers have prematurely seized the political space, and are being allowed to set the tone of national discourse.” He described the development as an “unnecessary and avoidable distraction by characters or hirelings who are desperately in search of relevance.” He said those in the forefront of the crisis were only out to feather their own nests and in the process unduly overheat the polity. |

Marotzke: Shia Islam have always been diametrically opposed to Sunni Islam ever since the great split.(based on custom and traditions) not on the message. Just like the. eastern orthodoxy and Roman catholic split in Christianity before the reformation.Iran is the number one country that promotes Shia militancy and activism in the world. The only country with a stated goal of destroying Israel. It's immediate Neighbour Iraq used to be under Sunni control (Saddam Hussein) but is now under Shia majority control.Syria. is populated mainly by Sunnis(85%), but the irony is that the ruling class is composed almost exclusively of the Alawites , a subsect of Shia Islam.(you now understand the extreme viciousness with which the war is waged.) Saudi Arabia. Egypt, Pakistan, Libya. are Sunni controlled countries.. but funny enough Al Qaeda ,Talibans. Boko Haram are Sunni extremists . The term, Islamist is mostly used for Sunni extremists, but Muslim radicals or fundamentalists denotes a Shia extremist..So between a fundamentalist Hezbollah and an Islamist Boko Haram, what is the difference? they both kill , but for different reasons . An Islamist will kill if you if you don't fit into his. narrow and. extremists definition of Islam.and righteousness. Christians and other Muslims are slaughtered daily.(funny enough there have been few records of direct confrontation between Zionists and Islamists) On the other hand a fundamentalist will kill you if you are. associated to Zionism, western imperialism, or attack Islam in any way.Nigeria is predominantly a Sunni Islam dominated country.Sheikh El Zak Zakky, the leader of Shiites in Nigeria , was born a Sunni. He became a Shiite while in Bayero University in the 80s.Some other Islamic leaders from western Nigeria also have links with Iran, but they are in a minority. So routine slaughter of the innocents , leaders of the ummah being natural rulers not imams, tolerance of. western interests, as long as they don't challenge the authorities , are all. in tune with. "our" Sunni roots . no pun intended.I must Thank u very much for this painstaking and careful analysis. |

This is a country lesser than Lagos State in population. So where do we stand as a country? The article has also highlighted d quality of leadership we have in our government as a woeful one. some of us complain of descrimibatory treatment from other countries. But we should be sincere here, can we do dat to an Israeli? it goes to show d quality/importance others attached to our lives as Nigerian. we have a lot of untaped man-power just as much as dat of mineral resourses. wat if these youths' are trained to become as useful as their Israeli counterparts instead of letting them waste away. And den, and only den, we would have sealed ourselves as GIANT OF AFRICA indeed.

Marotzke: How person go come public arena to exhibit crass ignorance abi na stupidity no go cease to amaze me. Dem say the boy and im father dey with free Syrian army, you still de halla Hezbollah. in case you no know, Hezbollah na Ogbonge Shia militiaWey come from Lebanon , and na Assad. government na im dem de support.. so no way the boy go ever turn Hezbollah, since from child hood na Hezbollah im de fight. Boko Haram! na people like you, na dem de halla pass everybody carry idiocy de annoy people. you no know say boko haram come from Sunni/ Salafist ideology/sect. How Sunni Islam and Shia Islam come mix you never tell us. One day in order to show people say you sabi, where as you no sabi anything, you go come de halla,"Al Qaeda American soldier" ," Zionist Islamist" " British Argentine" "Yoruba Igbo" . Then if someone tries to correct you, you will call the person an ignorant fool. A beg I no know book.thanks for d educative analysis evendoh 'twas insultive to d quoted. But d issue u highlighted has elevated some questions: are u arguing dat Shia and Sunni muslims are parallelistically cultured? den y r our muslims here in Nigeria denying dis fact? or are there ways where these ideological differences/inclinations are been compromised for their mutal benefits? pls educate me. |
lertee: little girls prefer the bad boys, when you know what you want and purpose in a relationship, you will never give a bad guy a chance. Who is even a bad guy.little girls? well choose the type of friends to keep while u r still "little", cos evil communication corrupt gud manners. Permit me to chip dis in 2. I tink its hightime our ladies droped dat ego of having to wait for d man to make d first move. if like a guy, go 4 him. dos who will appreciate u will do. |
lertee: Good men are scarce, the ones ready for marriage are very few,the unserious rotten ones have taken over the society, may God help the good women around. I thank God for me shaTo some extent, u r wrong. A lady once told me that ladies prefer "the bad boys" to the humble and gentle ones. So why do u now complain wen d bad boy shows u how bad he can be? Will dat crying lady tell me she has never bn 'toasted' by a serious guy. What did she do wit such opportunity? threw it away on a flomsy excuse (he is not from my village, he is not tall and handsome, most of all,; he is not so handsum). Young ladies, pls get married once u r ripe and the right guy comes knocking so as to avoid dis "marriage one-chance". |
Perhaps the leaders of the party never gave it a thought. That can greatly militate against its success, if not corrected. |

World leaders meeting for the final day of the G20 summit in Russia remain divided over military action in Syria. Italian PM Enrico Letta said the splits in opinion were confirmed at Thursday's working dinner in St Petersburg. A spokesman for the Russian presidency said a US military strike on Syria would "drive another nail into the coffin of international law". At the UN, the US ambassador accused Russia of holding the Security Council hostage by blocking resolutions. Samantha Power said the Security Council was no longer a "viable path" for holding Syria accountable for war crimes. The US government accuses President Bashar al-Assad's forces of killing 1,429 people in a poison- gas attack in the Damascus suburbs on 21 August. The UK says scientists at the Porton Down research laboratories have found traces of sarin gas on cloth and soil samples. But Mr Assad has blamed rebels for the attack. China and Russia, which have refused to agree to a Security Council resolution against Syria, insist any action without the UN would be illegal. The US and France are the only nations at the G20 summit to commit to using force in Syria. The United Nations says it needs another $3.3bn (£2bn) to deal with the Syrian refugee crisis up to the end of this year. 'Divisions confirmed' Ms Power told a news conference in New York: "Even in the wake of the flagrant shattering of the international norm against chemical weapons use, Russia continues to hold the council hostage and shirk its international responsibilities. "What we have learned, what the Syrian people have learned, is that the Security Council the world needs to deal with this crisis is not the Security Council we have." US President Barack Obama is thought to be trying at the G20 summit to build an international coalition to back strikes against military targets in Syria. But differences of opinion became obvious when world leaders - including Mr Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin - discussed Syria over dinner on Thursday evening. The Italian prime minister said in a tweet that "the G20 has just now finished the dinner session, at which the divisions about Syria were confirmed". President Putin's press spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said after the dinner that the G20 was split down the middle, with some countries seeking hasty action and others wanting the US to go through the UN Security Council. British sources say the leaders of France, Turkey, Canada and the UK gave strong backing to President Obama's call for military action. The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said the Turks put a "very strong argument about how the world must respond to the use of chemical weapons". But correspondents in St Petersburg say opponents of US military intervention appear to far outnumber supporters within the G20. And the BBC's Bridget Kendall says the views of the G20 leaders on any US action could be the least of Mr Obama's worries, as his real difficulties might lie back in the US. President Obama was nearly an hour late for Thursday's G20 dinner. His aides said he had been trying to find time during the summit to call US members of Congress, who are due to vote next week on whether to back Mr Obama's call for a military strike. Mr Obama also cancelled a trip to California on Monday in order to lobby Congress, as a poll commissioned by the BBC and ABC News suggested more than one-third of Congress members were undecided whether or not to back military action. A majority of those who had made a decision said they would vote against the president. Syria's parliamentary speaker has written to the speaker of the House of Representatives urging members not to rush into an "irresponsible, reckless action". Aid for Syria The United Nations is appealing for more aid for the estimated two million Syrians who have fled their country. Another 4.25 million are internally displaced. The UN humanitarian chief, Valerie Amos, told the BBC that donor countries should "look again" at their contributions and be "as generous as they can". UK Prime Minister David Cameron announced on Friday that the UK would give an additional £52m ($ 80m) in aid for Syria - much of which will go towards medical training and equipment to help civilians targeted by chemical attacks. Some analysts say Mr Cameron has been sidelined at the summit because the UK parliament has already voted against military strikes. A senior Russian aide reportedly dismissed Britain as "just a small island: no-one pays any attention to them" - comments later denied by Mr Peskov. Meanwhile, former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev told the BBC that Mr Obama and Mr Putin should meet in order to find a solution to the Syrian conflict. "They must strike up a conversation that will lead to the improvement of relations and stop the things which are happening now," he said. The Assad regime has been accused of using chemical weapons against Syrian civilians on several occasions during the 30- month conflict. Some 100,000 people have died in the two-and-a-half- year-old conflict, according to the UN. |

This issue of Miracle Healing has been bastardly abused by many socalled "miracle workers" for one selfish reason or the other. This been said though, it still hasn't reduce the efficacy of God's genuine miracle healings. Some years back, I used to experience serious eyes pains which impeded me from seeing clearly, though My Dad took me to several Hospitals then, but all effort was to no avail. so I was given some herbals which were meant to mollify the pains i was experiencing alongside. There's this Town in Edo State called Okpella where they observe an annual Christian program (Okpella for Christ) which I attended in 1996. it was held at Ogute-Oke Secondary School that year. During one of the ministerations, one of the ministers made reference to my case. The description he gave was as if he was aware of my condition. He specifically said these words: "This alter-call is for just one person". Even at that, about six of us came out for the prayers. When he got to me, as he placed his hands on my face and screemed "In Jesus' Name", it was as if a mask was been forcefully pilled of my face. I struggled to open my eyes but couldn't. I couldn't even listen to the rest of the prayer but once he shouted "In Jesus name I pray" and was removing his hands, it was as if some particles droped off my eyes. That was it. I can tell you that after that inccidence, I have never experienced any form of eyes problem again. Some years later, I heard the Man of God is late. So I am using this oportunity to say these words: "Rest in Peace, Pastor Peter Igbadumeh". |
