success2000:Bro, you sent me a PM, unfortunately I don't have access to the email I used for this acct. could you please tell me what you me to do for you. If you want a private chat then write your email in your signature and I will get back to you. |
ayosco2008:Good! Getting into UB is not all that difficult. It is small school but luckily it is highly recognized by the embassy. Also one of the upsides about the school is that is has a considerable amount of Nigerian students... You will almost feel at home studying at UB. That said, the application process is quite straightforward and maybe easy. I'm guessing that your Nigerian GPA is over 3.0 if so, I believe after evaluation by the school it will not be less than 2.8 which is there threshold. Though UB can go as low as 2.5 in rare cases, and that is if it is backed up with a GRE score of over 300 or maybe 290 . In your application try to write a good and compelling statement of purpose, indicating why you chose UB, what you hope to achieve and how your course will help you in advancing your career goals. Additionally, try to attach an original bank statement, with a ballance of over $40000, the reason is because UB being majorly a school with high international students needS to ensure that you're capable of paying tuition fee. If you eventually get into U.S. And you find out that you don't like de school which is almost certainly the case due to its poor rating and also Connecticut being a small state there not many opportunities in the state - then after first semester you can transfer to a more cosmopolitan university. But a final word... hopefully if you're to start by next spring I.e January session and you don't have your gre by now, I will advice you to take that exam either now or once you get into the states because if for any reason you want to transfer to any other school better than UB the first requirements will be Bre. So good luck with your dream! |
ayosco2008:Tell me, what is you want me to do for you? I can't remember the password of De email I used for this acct. |
OjaP:Please does IERF accept transcript from every Nigerian university. I couldn't find a list of Nigerian universities on their website... |
fizzile:Well, you can do whatever thing that suits you. I advised you to the best of my knowledge because I noticed your monicker as the guy that gave me hint me on IERF so I reciprocated the gesture. All in all, just a final word... As someone who schooled in the states and has helped people, I can tell you that your GPA is really low, and the only remedy to it will be to get a gre score of more than 60% in quant analysis, hopefully, with that you may be able get into a second tier univ. But bear in mind that getting admission into any school in USA is not the real deal, sure, there are some schools that will offer you admission even with that your GPA, but the bigger deal is: can you get visa with those schools? I remember a friend of mine who so disturbed me last year, I begged him to calm down and take the GRE, but just like many Nigerians I got a hell NO as an answer. Well, I managed to get him admission into housatonic college in Connecticut, to cut the long story short he was flatly denied visa at the embassy, and the VO indicated that the reason is because the school he has is just a mere community college. Now the guy is getting prepared for his gre. So just follow your mind. Regards |
fizzile:De way to go about it is this: first get a school in the USA for example you can get admission into technology management (which BTW, at Uni Bridgeport has the highest Nigerian student concentration) at UB for university of Bridgeport. Then after your first semester hopefully you will be able to get good grades, then using the grades you got at UB you can then transfer to another school that offers your course. I think University of Massachussets Lowel offer courses in renewable energy in the dept of mechanical engineering. You may check them out, but I'm almost certain they will not give u admission because of GP matter. I know UB, as I was once at the school before I later transferred out. And secondly, if u don't know anybody in the U.S. You've to first go to the school that will be easier for you to survive and after geting the orientation about USA then you can go to those places which are more alien to your culture. Even though Texas has a lot of Nigerians there, I know UB will be easy for you to adapt because of its high Nigerian student population, the downside is that it is in Connecticut and during winter Connecticut gets so freezing, sometimes it could get as low as -7 degrees. |
fizzile:Gee, do you wanna do MSC? If so, have ever heard of the school called University of Bridgeport? It is one of those schools in Connecticut U.S. That admit low grade students. But before I go further I want you tell me your Nigerian undergrad GPA not the evaluated one, and the reason is this: most people do not realize that some schools do not ask for evaluated transcripts and as such might have a more lenient grader than many of the evaluator companies. I know University of Bridgeport personally and I can guarantee you that with a good application and if you show enough ability to pay schools fees they will admit you straight away. And luckily also the U.S. Embassy recognizes the school and I've never seen anybody denied visa because of that school. Presently, there are over 30 Nigerians in the school. |
Mekurexx:Yeah, that is on a 5.0. What do you mean by "depends on your school grading system". |
Mekurexx:Bro, the GP is 3.3 |
fizzile:Bro Abeg can we talk offline. I've sent you a Pm, I need every detail on this IERF.. Thanks |
OluDare01:I have done the conversion before, but my problem is that WES takes a lot of time... |
fizzile:Bro, on their website do they have something like an unofficial evaluation calculator like WES where you can first convert your grades to have a glimpse of what it will amount to before sending them your transcript. |
Walspring:I know for sure not every credential evaluation company does that confirmation. Some of them just do only the conversion. I think it is only WES and ECE that do it all the times. WHile others do it only by request. |
fizzile:Thanks, God bless you! |
gentledoj:Bros abeg no vex, their evaluation is it as good as WES, I mean the GPA outcome after evaluation. I ask because many of these credential evaluation companies do a Great Harm to GPA, hence my choice for a more friendly evaluation. Please, I need you to confirm to me their academic standard, if you have used it before. Kind regards |
My good people of nairaland abeg try help a brother out. I am urgently in need of a credential evaluation because I am running behind schedule. Ideally, I should have used WES but my understanding of WES is that it takes a lot of time, as such I need another evaluation. But my problem is that I need a more friendly evaluation, by that I mean I don't want an evaluation that will slash my GPA into two, lol. I have heard about IERF, FCSA and others, Please can anyone here refer me to a credential evaluation that is as friendly as WES or even has a better evaluation than WES, I promise that person a bottle of e-Heineken lol. Thanks |
bigfrancis21:My brother, abeg can you help me with a transcript evaluation you know that doesn't slash GPA too much. I know WES is good but I am running short on time. I need an evaluation that will be quick and at the same time will have almost the same evaluation like WES. DO you know about IERF, or AACRAO,? |
imperiouxx:Imperiouxx, abeg I wan ask you about this evaluation IERF.ORG. I want to use them instead of WES because of time... However, I'm mindful of the GPA conversion, in that case do you know if there conversion is better or about the same like WES. |
TheBae:I used the unofficial evaluation on WES website and it gave me 3.05. However, do you have any idea of how the evaluation thingy goes... |
Hello house I want a clarification to Credential evaluation. I heard WES is good, but I understand that they take a lot of time, Please can someone tell me another credential evaluation that doesn't slash GPA very much like ECE I can use. My GPA is 3.2 and I want it to be in the 3.0 bracket even after evaluation. Thanks |

I honestly believe these are fulani herdsmen at work. We all Niger Delta militants are reasonable or at least abhors shedding of blood, so I dont get how all of a sudden the Oil militant have become this bloodthirsty. Well since Yorubas have been loyal to their bosses since 1800 this incident comes as no surprise |

Mbeki:Good boy, you have spoken like a true African son. I feel you are a south African, well, Biafra is something for the common man and you know what happened in the UK is just a win for the man, because the so called elite were RELENTLESSLY against it. The same thing is about to happen to Biafra, the world is witnessing an unquenchable revolution and I tell you the next stop after America is Biafra. |
