UdechiHD:Lol! IPOB are so out of touch with reality. It's funny and entertaining watching them. They call people (Ijaws, Igala, etc) who are aggressively expanding their territories into Igboland their delusional Biafra brothers. So blind that they can't even see under their noses. ![]() |
proeast:Ikwerre is like a cancer cell to Ndiigbo body. The more you let them stay attached to us, the more they spread their toxic Igbophobia to neighboring Igbo speaking groups . |
kingzizzy : Let me put this in lay mans terms, hopefully you will understand. Nigeria is not yet political mature for what you are asking IPOB to do. As bad as Nigerian politics is, where the high and mighty use incumbency, power, money, intimidation, fear and even terrorism to win elections, what level playing ground has IPOB got?Regardless of what you or anyone else tell themselves, election is still decided by the grassroots. You can only rig where you are popular. IPOB has control of the Igbo grassroots at all levels and are more than capable of defending their votes from rigging machinery of any pro Nigeria politician. The world would stand and take notice when IPOB protest against electoral fraud and imposition of unpopular candidates as elected officials in Igboland than when IPOB goes about protesting with empty flags. IPOB has more leverage than most of you realize. But lets just assume that IPOB managed to use whatever support they have to navigate the explosive minefield called Nigerian politics, and win most of the elective positions in the areas they want to break away from Nigeria, mainly the South East, then what?Having control of all elective positions might not guarantee Biafra, just as it has not guaranteed Catalonia independence from Spain, but it would ensure you can protest for Biafra and fly Biafra flags in the East in peace, it would ensure the world take you serious, since you will have respected political leaders who would not be singing one Nigeria, but either remain neutral or tacitly support the struggle. Your pro Biafra elective leaders would always be on hand to speak up against any use of action against by the FG and would harmonize the struggle and make the world take you serious. You can't be expected the world to take you serious, when you have not won over your turf politically. Those elected IPOB sponsored winners will have to swear an oath of allegiance to preserve the unity of Nigeria, the very thing IPOB is against, before they can assume office. It doesn't matter what useless oath they swear. Nigerian leaders swear oaths not to steal and all and still loot the useless country dry. What matters is where their allegiance lie. If their allegiance lie towards Biafra and not to Nigeria, then you have valuable assets placed in positions of power, masquerading as patriotic Nigerians, while they work secretly with you in the dark to destroy Nigeria. Nothing destroys a country faster than traitors and rebels masquerading as patriots. This should be common sense again. But IPOB and it's hierarchy are impervious to advice. The same goes for the rest of those who are elected but sympathise with Biafra, they will all be removed for violating the oath they took to preserve the unity of Nigeria.Nobody has removed Abaribe. So you are wrong. No one will remove them. They would simply profess undying love for Nigeria with their mouths, while actions will show they are pro Biafra. They would also occasionally drop cryptic ambiguous messages which would suggest support for Biafra without explicitly saying it. It's a game. The only thing IPOB can do is to keep agitating for a peaceful exit from Nigeria, through a referendum, and show both Nigeria and the international community that they have support. The referendum may not be achieved any time soon, it may not be achieved for many years to come, but the alternative is that Igbos remain part of a failed country that is ever becoming a haven for violent fundamentalists such as Boko haram and killer herdsmen who will decimate the future generation. No, this is not the only thing IPOB can do, rather it's the only thing you have chosen to be doing, which has not only proven ineffective, but plays exactly into the hands of your detractors and does your agitation no good. You have the option to pretend to be Nigerians and destroy the entity from within and another to stay at the gates and be wasting precious lives and time fighting over nothing. Odeyseus chose to get into troy cunningly through his Greek gift after fighting aimlessly and wasting the lives of his men outside the gates of Troy trying to prove the irrelevant point of being men of valour. Wisdom and tact will always trump empty bravery e everyday and time. IPOB should stop wasting the lives of our youths since they have proven to be bereft of ideas. Without IPOB, there is simply nothing on the ground but eternal slavery to the powers that be, and those powers are determined to be forever.IPOB and it's current modus operandi are not only useless to herself and her members, but constitute a serious obstacle, an encumbrance to the Igbo nation and our future aspirations both within and outside Nigeria as an entity. IPOB is failing seriously. |
How can IPOB be crying for Igbo leadership to speak up for them, when they have the power to decide Igbo leadership. He who pays the piper determines the tone. We have long advised IPOB that total control of political representation of SE in Igboland from councilor to governor is essential in this struggle. But Kanu sensing that that would be a tough task chickened out and told them that Nigerian politics is not to be ventured into by Biafrans. Is it not common sense to first secure total political control of your home turf before venturing out to fight outside? When NK was in prison, he needed Igbo political elite in Abaribe to bail him out as his guarantor, yet he continues to deceive his followers that control of Nigerian politics in SE is not important for the Biafrans struggle. If Abaribe wasn't pro Biafra and in politics in Nigeria, would Kanu be in UK where he enjoys the comfort of safety of first world country while he sends our defenseless youths to their early graves? The pro Catalonia group hold the majority of political representation seat of Catalonia in Spanish government. They hijacked power in Spain from pro Spanish unity Catalonian leaders by getting involved in local politics and planting their own loyal persons in government. IPOB wants to have Ohanaeze Ndiigbo dance to their tune, yet they fail to see that Ohaneze Ndiigbo is controlled by five SE governors who control them because they are their main source of finance , and that the SE governors are controlled by Nigerian government and are anti Biafra. Shouldn't IPOB by common sense seek to be in control of the the 5 governors in SE by directly placing pro Biafra assets on those seats through direct involvement in Nigerian politics in Igboland? Common sense is not common after all. IPOB strategy is fundamentally flawed from its very foundation to the top, but they are impervious to advice. They are the proverbial "Eze onye agwanam" who defecated on his clothing and went about town with it, because nobody would point it out to him, since he is "Eze onye agwana m". IPOB is becoming a liability to Ndiigbo. And it's a pity because we all had high hopes of them when they started, we thought they had a logical sequence of plans. But obviously, that's not the case. IPOB crying over Igbo leadership not speaking up against their ordeal at the hands of murderous Nigerian security agents is pathetic and exposes how vacuous they are. It's really very embarrassing as well as disappointing what IPOB has evolved into. Igbos are very intelligent race. I see no intelligence in IPOB, only clowning. |
OP. Add Ken Nnamani. He will make a good candidate. |
Arsenal stacking up on unknown youngsters. Tim Akinola, Jonathan Dinzeyi and George Lewis and Salah Eddine. Hope at least one of them turns out world class. |
kuuljay:Gowon and IBB were both from North Central |
Etinosa1234:Oba in Igbo means barn. In ancient Igbo, barn and yam represent wealth. Oba also means a sea creature called "Oba mmili ", I think it's a sort of amphibian but different from Crocodile (Agu iyi). Igbo means "the people" in Igbo. It also can mean dry land as against "olu" which means riverine/wetland. The Yoruba can't give us the name Igbo when they can't pronounce it. Igbo in Yoruba sounds more like Igbo in marijuana. That's how you pronounce "Ijebu-Igbo ". They are obviously not same thing. You can't give a name you can't pronounce. |
Etinosa1234:Igbo is bush in Yoruba and it's not pronounced same as Igbo For Ndiigbo. Yoruba means Onye-oru-Oba= One who slaves for the Oba, in Igbo language. Can we say that Yorubas are slaves to their Obas? It doesn't matter what Igbo means in Yoruba or any other insignificant language out there, what matters is what it means to Ndiigbo who bear it. And to us, it means a noble and ancient people. |
Nigeria is at war too. Inter ethnic wars, inter religious wars, sectarian wars, war between the poor and the looting elite politicians. |
Bkayyy:Ndiigbo have been too silent on the Bini(Idu)/Benin (Ile Ife) discussion, that both sides have managed to distort our history and are now on land grabbing mission. ![]() |
“What is today known as Benin Kingdom started as Igodomigodo nine centuries ago. It was founded by Ogiso Igodo and it existed for 300 years before King Orominyan of Ife invaded Benin. During that invasion, Orominyan fought without any success. Before then, Orominyan came to Benin with a strategy. He brought a large number of Yoruba men into Benin long before the proper expedition. These men went into relationships with our daughters who started having children for them. By the time Orominyan came to attack Benin in 11th Century, the number of the Yoruba-born children was high. In spite of this, however, he still failed in his attack. This is how Yorubas gained foothold in Idu and eventually toppled the Idu people. Problem is that both the Bini (Idu people) and you Benin (descendants of Ile ife) are not interested in the full truth. They both have their eyes set on Igbo speaking communities outside SE to annex. ![]() |
