After what I saw during the nomination yesterday,it's obvious Dorathy will be paying greatly for her unnecessary hatred for Laycon that blindfolded her from realising that Vee was actually the best option for her to be safed. I guess She ll be leaving with tricky. Ozo was wiser just that Neo use warri strong voice over power am and madam Dora was so blindfolded with hatred
So it's not hate when Laycon nominates Dora and Ozo, but it's hate when Dora nominate Laycon? huh

Not every Igbo clan practice Osu/Ohu system, why then the hasty generalization?
What's the aim of this thread?

For example, the Ngwas and the Aros don't practice Osu system. Likewise the Asa and Ndokis. That's like 4/5 of Abia state where this Osu thing is not in practice. Osu is not practiced in almost all parts of Ebonyi state.

The Osu thing is also very poorly understood by modern Igbos let alone outsiders .

Lastly, a lot of work is being done to eliminate the Osu/Ohu thing in parts of Igboland where they are being practiced by Ndiigbo, especially Imo state and Nsukka area of Enugu state and we don't need Nigerians help. We would appreciate it if Nigerians would focus more on their own societal ills and leave Ndiigbo alone to sort out ours in peace.

I am Xhaka number one critic, but boy! Hasn't he improved?
Xhaka is looking like the player we all wanted to see when Wenger chose him over Kante.
No-one hates Xhaka, we just want our Arsenal back and that means that underperforming players would rightly be bashed, while at same time, once they improve their game and it reflects on the team result, they would also be praised. That's the way the sports is.

Having said this. We need as much squad depth as well can get. Xhaka will not always be fit. EPL is a marathon, throw in Europa and FA cup and League cup and you get the feeling we need quality squad depth.
Competition also bring the best out of players.

So, we should not be sidetracked from still upgrading our midfield options this transfer window.
Getting Partey in will be good and will keep the midfield competition strong and ticking nicely with players upgrading their match performance to lay a stake in the starting line up, week in, week out.

So, that international airport makes nonsense of whatever Mbazulike Amaechi is saying and I expect him in future, to be careful about the kind of statements he makes because as an elder statesman, his statement should bring peace, should exude wisdom and not attacking people.

You see where your problem starts, if you call Nigeria zoo or other vile name by rapist cownu, in your head it is not because you hate the tribes of Nigeria it is because you are objective, when Alex Kadiri says his thoughts of Igbo presidency in your head once again it is not because he is objective it is because he hates Igbos. Such is the shallow reasoning that has not gotten you anywhere.

If you call Hausas, Fulani slaves, Fulanis cows, Northerners as dumb, call Yoruba as Hausa- Fulani slaves without any Igbo of note cautioning such foolishness, tell me how you would expect these people to support your aspiration? Politics is about building coalition, in APC case they were able to build a winning coalition. Throughout they never denigrated any tribe or religion. In the case of Igbo they remained silent while some riff Raff's appropriated the authority to speak for them and continually condemned APC as a Muslim Brotherhood party and a Northern Agenda to give land to Fulani people. You see why it will be hard to move forward if you do not genuinely build support across all creeds?
Stop talking nonsense.
As far back as 1960s, Ahmadu Bello was already making videos where he demonized Ndiigbo.
The entire Northern assembly had a plenary session where the agenda was to demonize and legalize hostility towards Ndiigbo.

Akintola had already made his "Yoruba Ronu" speech where Ndiigbo were again demonized as early as the 1960s.
In all these, you can not for once find a tape where Ndiigbo made speeches demonizing others, instead we focused on how to elevate our selves. Perhaps this was the mistake of our forebearers.

Nnamdi Kanu have not said to other Nigerians what they have not said about Ndiigbo 50yrs before.
And even Nnamdi Kanu doesn't spare Ndiigbo in his criticism or use of harsh words.

Nigeria is a failed cursed state. Igbo presidency will do nothing for Ndiigbo other than earn bragging rights, seeing as it has not lifted Yorubaland or Arewa from trenches of Third World status.
Don't kill yourself over Igbo presidency. The orientation of Igbo nationalists like myself is that Igbo presidency if it comes is well welcomed since it would piss so many Igbophobes off, and if it doesn't come, would also be a win, since it would prove Igbo One Nigerianists stupid and swell the ranks of Igbos who want no part in Nigeria.

The Igbo will always choose Biafra over Nigeria, and should Igbo presidency of Nigeria not emerge, the more Biafra as a viable alternative becomes marketable among Igbo elites spread around the globe.

No shaking, it's either we win, or we win.

Legba is recognized to have originated from Fon.
Anyone else using Legba or similar cognate, obviously borrowed from Fon. It doesn't need to be stated.
You are the one with insecurities claiming things not belonging to you to make yourself feel good when you could easily give the originators their duely deserved credit.

If you had the slightest inkling on the history of Yoruba religion and its spread, you should have realized that that present-day Republic of Benin was heavily influenced via Oyo’s imperial domination etc.

On the flip side, there’s is no record of any such influence on the Yoruba world-view from there.

See the attached for some details on the name Legba as an alternative name for Eshu.
Yoruba borrowed Legba from Fon.

Eshu belongs to Yoruba. Legba to Fon.
You borrowed and it became an alternative name to your traditional Eshu.
A bit like Ndiigbo borrowed "Ashawo" from Yorubas to serve as a synonym for "Akwuna", which is Igbo name for prostitute.

grin... Core Agbor indigenes like Jim Ovia (Ovia is an Edoid word for 'God of iron'). Some Ikas who come from towns like Igbodo (in Ika North East close to the border with Aniocha North/Aniocha South LGAs) like to say they are from Agbor when they are NOT. Igbodo speaks an Iboid language that has a closer influence from the nearby Aniocha area. I have great friends from the ANIOMA area. The entire ANIOMA axis/towns originate from several ethnicities such as Igalas in Ebu (Agatha Amata's home town) etc, Bini (in Agbor/Ika areas), Esan (in Idumuje-Unor and Idumuje-Ugboko, etc), Yoruba (in Ugbodu and Eko Efun/Ukwu Nzu, etc), Nri, Nteje. Ibo language/dialects bind them to an extent... but ANIOMA is NOT of HOMOGENOUS ethnic origin. NOTE: Many Oshimili areas such as Illah, Okpanam, Asaba... Even Onitsha also have part Igala ancestry. The aborigines of Onitsha are of Igala ethnic origins... Before the arrival of the Bini/Edo (Onicha Ado N'Idu). Dr. Philip Emeagwali who is an Onitsha man posted on his Website 10 years ago about this HETEROGENOUS ethnic origins of his home town. The Igala ethnicity was the first to introduce the RED CHIEFTAINCY CAPS in the Nsukka area. Igalas also had a great influence in the Oshimili area of Delta State just like in the Western parts of Anambra and Northern Enugu States. Illah is interestingly an Igala word!
Edo has people of Edo, Ijaw, Igala, Igbo, Nupe, Yoruba origins living there.
Can we now say that Edo is no longer Edo because they accommodated people of various origins in the past?

Yorubas have people of Edo, Nupe (Tapas), origin living among them. Can we now claim there are no Yoruba again since they are of diverse origins? Ijebu even claim Sudan origin.

Anioma is Igbo if we are being honest.

After reading Hermann Koler's account I get the understanding the Igbo have always been very influential and robust right from time. If the Igbo, as described by Europeans wanted the oceans I think they would have gotten the whole southernmost coast to themselves if they so wish. The other tribes were too tiny to be of any worthwhile resistance. This made me think, what if our forebears deliberately shunned the coast? Like, they actually saw the expanse of water, and were familiar with it, and in some wisdom shunned it and drifted further inland.

Thinking about it now it seems pretty much like a typically Igbo thing to do, even now (and trust me we haven't changed much in mentality from our ancestors). See the water, recognize the danger and drift further inland to live.

How plausible?
The Niger delta was a mosquito infested region.
Infant mortality to Malaria was very high there.
It's not a coincidence that the population down those places were very sparse.
That environment was a very harsh one to survive in. Our ancestors choose the comfort of inland, which was why we became densely populated.

So chime fell from the sky and they sent him to onitsha. everything about the analysis is so porous that there is no single connectivity or link..

Same Bini are Yorubas...coz Oranmiyan na Yoruba man..
The issue with Bini history is that out of desire for land grab. Bini people had allowed themselves to be subjugated by the Yorubas (Benin), because should they threaten to emancipate themselves from Yoruba (Benin), they would have to first of all expose the whole truth about how Benin(Yoruba) came to be. And they don't want to do that out of pride.

There are two distinct entities in Edo state. One is Bini ( one of the many Edoid tribes that are indigenous to Edo state) and the other is Benin (A Yoruba kingdom established in Bini territory through the brute force of war and initially through cunning stealth ).

Benin was multicultural and incorporated the indigenous Bini, the ruling Yoruba class who instituted the Oba dynasty, and other mercenaries and migrants from Igala, Igbo, Ijaws( who helped ferry them around), etc.

From time to time, whenever there are intrigues in Benin, many of these non Edoid clans in Benin who lost out in the power game there, usually headed back to their homeland.
Even today, you have many Ijaw speaking clans like Nembe claiming Benin origins because they were part and parcel of Benin kingdom cum empire, just as you have many Yoruba speaking towns with Benin origins because they witnessed reverse migration from Benin back to Yorubaland. It was all reverse migration that would make sense once the distinction between Bini the Edoid tribe and Benin a multicultural kingdom established by Ile ife royalty in Biniland.

Because I know many from Agbor are not comfortable with Igbo tag.

I felt she is playing the usual parasitic attachment to Igbo tag the confused Igbo speaking but Bini claiming tribes in SS (Rivers And Delta state) do whenever they need to benefit from Igbo population.

But she appears genuine , grew up outside Agbor and probably untainted by the senseless Igbophobic mindsets prevalent from those parts.

If you raise an Agbor girl or boy outside Agbor land, and don't corrupt him/her with the " we are Bini people, Igbos are dubious people" mindset the normal Ika parents corrupt their children mindsets with from childhood to adulthood, the Agbor girl or boy will probably grow up realizing he/she is same with Ndiigbo and embracing Igbos.

Dorothy father died at her young age. She grew up with her mother who never sowed the Igbophobic mindsets in her.

Orashi river is at Imo state and Rivers boundary where you have ONELGA in Rivers and Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta LGAs in IMO state.
Oyigbo is far away from Orashi and is rather at Abia/Rivers boundary.

The Ogba in ONELGA( Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema LGA) are the most Igbophobic people you will ever meet more Igbophobic than Ikwerres. Their principal town is Omoku.
