Curlie: Thanks a lot sir. I am still reading up on the pages and hope to finish soon.
We considered express entry but despite our good IELTS scores, my age and hubby's together with our level of tertiary education won't let our scores get high enough and so provincial nomination is the last option... On the other hand, New Brunswick is a preferred province because we have a few friends there, sadly the province is not 'big' on nominations now so the idea of student visa occurred to us...
There is no problems with the POF, it has been in fixed deposit for over 12months... Thanks for your concern on 'family support'. I have done a lot of research on available schools for the kids and found out everything is in the University environment and that is where we also hope to reside. We seem to have all those covered, living expenses and all. Hubby won't leave Naija, he will be visiting as often as he can...
My only concern however, is on the student visa... I am being treated as a 'transfer student' The University will admit me to year 3 so i will complete the Bsc program in 2yrs and may do another 1yr MBA... Like I said, I do not have any issues with this arrangement but only on how to convince the VO on my plans. I actually wish I can be referred to anyone here who had had a similar case.
Thanks again for your advise. i got ur point in de 1st paragraph, am convinced of ur study option. i grab ur explanation in de 2nd paragraph, i understand ur detailed hint as wel. on de last paragraph am fully knowledgeable of ur details.. but on convincing de VO i tink a well detailed letter of explanation of ur study plans will do, say ur reason of transferring & future plans.. if u can get a letter/docs. from a top notch in ur dept/sch to proove de genuinety and clear intentions of ur study plans dat will b lovely.. peruse all de concerns abt ur present sch & de 1 u are transferin 2 in Canny & recall points dat ar necessary 2b stated in ur explanations.. u've tried in takin care of several things as regards ur app. try out what i told u, dnt knw any1 2 refer u 2, bt am hopeful u wil get replies here wen u ask questions.. my quota.. gudluck |

Curlie: Good day all.
I am expecting my admission from Uni of New Brunswick any moment from now. Specifically, i applied for Bsc Accounting.
I am 35yrs married with 2kids. I have HND Accounting (Distinction) and have banking work experience of over 8yrs, voluntarily resigned last year. University of New Brunswick will let me finish d degree program in 2yrs and i may do a MBA right after. I plan to go with my 2 kids while hubby will stay back working in Nigeria. He'll be our sponsor.
Pls advise me on how to go about applying for the student visa. Do I need an agent to help put together my application, do i apply with the kids and hubby or the kids alone or as a single application? What are my chances.
Hubby plans to provide a POF of 40mil, is this good enough?
Kindly advise me on how to go about this. Thanks all
First of all, i urge u 2 alwaz go tru previous post as dis kind of question has been dealt wit severally in previous posts, it wud b gud u bring out time & browse tru people's response here wich if u didn't find any helpful u can den ask, dis will help 2 lesson de ambiguous nature of de question u've 2 ask as it is now.
my question is why go for B.Sc instead of diploma since u got HND already.. as B.Sc requires strong financial muscle.. and anoda 1 is>>wit 8yrs of experience in de banking sector why not try Express Entry.. aspa de application u can do it ursef if u take out time 2 read posts here & ask question were u are confussed, coz many people have suffered from many agents acts of negligence & carelessness.. i suggest u apply wt ur kids while ur hubby serves as ur home tie, wen u get ur visa & move he can join u tru SOWP.. CIC stipulates 2000 for each accompanyin minors.. ur kids goin wt u requires strong application packaging.. if u can try it out fine..
40mil proof of fund is not de only mata.. how abt de inflow & outflow of de account.. beware of money lodgement!!
Lastly.. it all depends on u.. can de kids cope while u are away.. how old are they? can ur hubby take proper care of dem while u are off.. if he cant & if de ar 2 tender u can apply wt dem but note it wil add 2 expenses.. as u wud enrol dem in sch if de ar below 4yrs i tink.. wich am sure dia nursery/day care is privately run & expensive, if de ar not up to school age u will employ a Nanny dat will take care of dem while u study, as u are not 2 be inconvenienced while studyin... so datz de reason u need strong financial backing.
so in all.. chill & get ur admission 1st..
my token contribution oda gurus can fire on.. |

1soul: Good day house,
Please I applied for Master Rural Development Brandon University, only to see my acceptance letter that I was admitted into Graduate Diploma Rural Development degree program.
Please is it treated the same with college PGD by CIC?
And from what I am seeing here most Diplomas hardly get Visa approval. Though my undergraduate is in Urban and Regional Planning and I work with rural loan facility monitoring unit of my bank.
Pls I Need advice. why not mail de admissions office or admissions secretary & inquire why it was so.. & yes it is diploma as de name implies.. let dem knw u want masters, get dia feedbak & summarize on what 2do |
