Congrats on the twins...but as regards ur travelling with twins..it's almost humanly impossible for u alone to cope with them while flying. You need an adult to help.
Either u have someone go with u or join u there. If not how will u cope taking care of urself and 2 Babies!!

And if you're having a CS that's a different case entirely. Pls plan well o. It won't be good for u to come and suffer in the US o.

As per flying.. some people just risk it and beg any approachable looking Lady and beg to help with one baby which is kinda somehow, or you'll just have to buy a child's ticket for one of the babies so u can put one of them in a car seat on the child's seat u paid for, while u carry the other baby, or if ure lucky, u could get a bassinet on the flight.

One advice is that u shouldn't break ur flights oo..I Mean fly straight, don't do international leg separate from local.. imagine if u have to collect ur luggage at one airport and check in again with 2 babies!!..na die be that oo.

Think about ur options and weight them well and I wish u all the best.

Cheers.

Mrsbaby:
Good day my people. Biko, I would really appreciate if I can get responses to my concerns. Have been in and out the US for a while but first time of hoping to have a baby (ies) there.
Pls MUST I pay the hospital bills from Naija first before travelling? If I have enough cash and reasonable amount in card, would I be turned back at POE. Then, I am expecting twins, pls is there any airline that can just carry me with two babies for my return?
Pls help a desperate pregalnant woman o. Biko

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by igetam: 9:17pm On Feb 03, 2017

Hi. It's just the first week u pay $267 (inclusive of $50 which is refundable at the end of ur stay), subsequent weeks u pay $217 per week, and on the 31st day, u start paying $185 per week because they'll return $31.50 tax for the first 30 days you've stayed. That's $31.50 × 5 weeks = $157.50.
So in short, if u stay more than 5 weeks, ur average weekly rate is actually $185 NOT $267 or $217 or $270.
And they refund u d $50 u pay when u check in initially.

I hope u get it.

Cheers.

Good question.

I guess for those who already planned to, or are willing to go to the states in the US where they can get the passports, getting it makes sense cuz its cheaper than paying for a visa, whether in the US, or the Visa on Arrival in Nigeria....u get it...huh?

Swisstk:
I'm sorry o wink

If u can get visa on arrival with ur American passport.....why do people still go ahead to get Nigerian passport and 9ja visa before leaving the states?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by igetam: 7:40pm On Jan 30, 2017
Hi all. Pls anyone has successfully used Visa on Arrival (VOA) should pls answer my question or comment. Thanks.

The person in naija that wants to help u goes to immigration office in ikoyi (about 10 days or so before you and LP are to return back to Naija), asks for d requirements to apply for VOA, applies, will then be told when to come back for it. He/she then goes back for it and emails it to you.

You print and take the document sent to u when travelling back to Naija. When u get to naija, u go to the VOA section and pay $200.

Pls is that ALL?

No extra charges or payments?

Thanks in advance for ur "useful" responses.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by igetam: 3:22pm On Dec 29, 2016
Congrats dear.

Flew Turkish.. long flight .. too stressful for me oo. Was getting up to peee every second. But luckily for me I picked an aisle seat, so individual get up easily.

Finally got to Houston after a 12:30 Hour flight, and the immigration officer sent me to secondary inspection when I tried to tell him the breakdown of the money I have. Cash, card and Moneygram. Guess i wasn't convincing enough for him. Won't blame me, I was exhausted from the flight. I had proof for all these monies ooo, but was sha sent to sec inspection. And since this is my second child...I even had receipts of previous payments, i even have the receipts of the pathology tests for baby and i for 2014 when I was here Anyways, was der for over 2 hours before I was called...as many people were also der. The office asked how much I needed for everything...if I had prepaid, said no, but I have enough money for all and even my previous receipts. He said ok...and that I should make sure I always have my receipts whenever I'm coming to the US, just incase I'm asked. And that was it.

However, by the time I was done with this..I already missed my connecting flight to El Paso. Saw my luggage somewhere...just dropped anyhow...but was thankful I even saw it.

Went to United stand...was lucky to have met a lady who told me next flight was for the next day by 3:45pm...this was around 11pm oo.. I first cried before accepting fate and then tried to find a solution to my problem.

I already booked a hotel ooo and they were /are to charge me $40 for not showing which was annoying customer it Wasn't my fault I was delayed and missed my flight..

I was rebooked for the 3:45pm flight...and given a no to call traviallance for discounted prices of hotels around...
Luckily again..another Lady who had been delayed for 7 good hours also missed her flight to London (not a Nigerian not preggy, she's from Guadamala) so we called together and decided to share a room in the hotel we got tru to and we got free airport pickup and drip6 off. And had free breakfast too.

So a positive here..is i made a new friend.

We shared the bill...and had a nice time in the hotel.

Fast forward flew to El paso...just 1 hour flight...got here.. forgot El Paso is 2 hour ahead of Houston, was worried sick about not meeting up with the closing time of 7pm cuz i arrived around to 6...which was actually to 5 el paso time.

Booked an uber ride (cuz regukar taxi was gkbba charge $25 or so, but uber showed appreciate $10) but wasn't coming forth....had to use a policy officer's phone to call intown.....long story short.. The user driver was so nice...he reminded me that el paso is one hour ahead...so i still had time....cuz i was close to going to another hotel...which would have been more expensive.

My story is long abihuh Well such is life oo. Anyways, 1 wise thing I did was to buy a meal at the airport, cuz i was starving and intown suites has no food for anyone ooo. If not, maybe my enemy would have fainted from all the stress I had been tru....with my belle.

Still resting ...but def jetlaged.

Heard some Nigerians are here at intown...will look for them soon. And if anyone of them is here, I'm in room 229 oo..hungry and no breakfast to eat.. lol.

In all I give thanks to God for ALWAYS making a way even when all hope looks lost.

I hope someone learns from my experience.
Cheers!

slimwendy85:
Hi all, so I flew british Airways on the 24th of December to Elpaso through dallas. I made it a point to come and give back as I didn't last year. Got carried away and overwhelmed with motherhood then when I came in June to have my baby girl. Journey then was also to Elpaso with klm through dallas.
So, I got to dallas on Christmas day, used the automated check in counter and declared dairy product cause I had peak 123. Went to the cbp officer and he asked what I was here for. Told him vacation and childbirth. Asked how much I had, told him. Next he scribbles something on my paper and tells me I will explain in details to the officer he will be passing me on to. I travelled with my 18 month old by the way. Was first of all directed to agriculture, they scanned my bags n let me go without searching it. Then directed me to another officer who asked y I was sent to him. The agricultural guy was like, he guesses the officer felt I needed a little more attention. Note, I wasn't sent to any room, it was just another counter. The guy asked for my zero balance, and doctors correspondence, counted my money, and said you are good to go. Merry Christmas. All this took about 10 minutes in all. Trying to settle down now. Igetam, how far Na.

The matter tire me oo. However, travelex is still selling at the airport, cuz i went there last week Friday and I saw people who were being attended to, just that one might need to go early, pick a number (even though I wasn't told this and didn't remember to ask). See what they require in the pic I posted.
You just have to make sure u check in early and go there immediately, or have someone there on the queue waiting on ur behalf, while u collect ur boarding pass.

Even travelex even no dey sell, i'm just tired.

Nothing is compulsory o. But in my opinion, baby should still see a pediatrician according to what's specified from the hospital till about 4 weeks or so, Just to be sure everything is fine..

Hope this helps.

TOKNOW:
Pls house is it compulsory that after discharge from hospital, one must still use another pediatrician after using the compulsory hospital pediatrician for 3 days.

1. Which airline will u recommend for this trip.

Dunno ooo, Me im using Turkish cuz its relatively cheap and i can rest on my way back.

2. When is the best time to get tickets for d trip in January ( now or end of the yr)

I would have tot the earlier the better, but someone has advised u do it this coming Black Friday.

3. Is it safe to travel @36wks and return when baby is 2wks

36 Weeks in my opinion is too late, d stress at dt stage isn't good for u or baby. Make u no go born for Plane. lol. And moreeover, some airlines might not want to carry u, so check with their policies.

A 2 Weeks old baby... Chai! y naw? y not wait for the 4 weeks checkup before carrying baby back. Funds abihuh dont worry, trust God to provide.

4. What accommodation options are available around Houston Northwest medical center.

NO IDEA! Sorry.

Pls don't fall sick o.

1 She no sabi work. Delete her no after ur last useful interaction with her.
2 I'm also flying turkish, and yes the return leg is longggggg, but then, you'll be booked into and hotel if im not wrong.

See this from Turkish Airways..

"
A complimentary hotel accommodation (maximum 2 nights) will be provided to our valuable passengers when there are more than 10 hours (for economy cabin passengers) and 7 or more hours (for business cabin passengers) waiting during their international connecting flights due to Turkish Airlines’ schedule structure. However, if your destination can be reached by an alternative flight to your first flight and the waiting time is less, you cannot take advantage of the hotel service.
"
3 If u need an agent, i can help u with the one who dt booked for me.

All the best.

Cheers.
