A job that I percievd as a miracle job is turning out to be a nightmare. I got a job in Lagos last December as a web designer for the firm with a pay of 150k. The job was supposed to be hybrid but since I couldn't afford relocation we agreed I work remotely pending when I will be able to relocate.

This is the end of fabuary and I haven't received a dime, the man has simply refused to pay me and from his body language he's not going to pay. I contacted the HR and she told me the man isn't responding to her messsages or calls about the payment matter.

He has stopped viewing my messages on WhatsApp or taking my calls too. The guys that referred me mentioned something about him treating the predecessor same way and adviced I take it as employment fraud and walk away from the job.

The issue is I've put efforts and resources into the job and I cant just let go of 300K like that.
I've been borrowing to fuel my gen everyday to work and other expenses. My rent is expired and landlord had been on my neck to pay up. A lot of stuff is hinged on that money.
It's been from one flimsy excuse to the other.

Please I need suggestions on how I can get my money from this man, I have my appointment letter and he's a lawyer.

You got a #150k last December. Depending on when you got the job, your first full salary should come by January ending. If between when you got the job and now you have spent over 300k doing your job, then that's not a job. I am more concerned about how you spent 300k to deliver a 150k job, what is your gain?

3. You need to get yourself to a professional anger management class first. This new year, please endeavor to get a book on logical/critical reasoning/thinking so you can grow your mind and as such become able to logically analyze your decisions, and the world around you, including your relationships for yourself. I recommend the book Being Logical. However, any other text that sufficiently teaches you how to critically reason day-to-day issues out will work too. the key is to put into regular(continuous) practice what you learn so you become a more logical being than you are today.

If I call my wife severally and she doesn't pick. I call again, and she is in another call. She has to explain why she refused to take my calls and took another one.

If OP's wife had said she was not with her phone and when she came to pick her phone, another call came in, and that she was going to call him back after that call, that would have been understandable.

To say there was no power, and her phone was ringing, she really needs to apologise. That was a lie!

By the way, OP has a lot to do about his marriage. Seems OP needs to double his hustle and take care of his family very well. I can trace OP's anger to his inability to take care of his family. See how the wife was complaining in her chat to him. OP double your hustle. Now she is not with you, focus and make more money to be able to take care of your family.

I think your mistake was taking your "wife" to your mum without you being there to help her get acquainted and integrate with your family.

She was isolating herself because you were not there to give her confidence. Since you have not married her officially, there is this grieve inside your mum for bringing her that shame. Any little thing from your wife will trigger that grieve to manifest and now your wife have carried it to her mum. Now the two mums are having internal grievances, now if you marry her, this grievances may end in the grave.
