Let it be know that there are contracts that you can sign and it will still be non and void by a court if found to be exploitation , non objective and ambiguous . So even if the contracts were signed by the borrower it can still be non and void if the contract does not reflect the laws, terms and regulations of that country. Lending money in nigeria has laws , rules and regulations which these apps don't apply and as such all contracts signed on there terms are invalid. Just like housing or tenancy law in nigeria etc.
Thank you for the enlightenment. If it pleases you, throw more light on the laws so we can be more enlightened

Your second paragraph started with it may..... it is very possible.... it may not. But you ended up advising me what to do after the may and may nots.

I know there are so many people in this type of situation. That's why I commented. So, your opinion does not change the fact that loan apps in Nigeria are terrible.
whatever be the case, it still does not change the fact that Nigerians are terrible in paying back loans, even interest free loans! So whoever that wants to give loans to Nigerians as a business should be prepared to go hard on them to get their money back even if the FG tag them "terrible".

With people like you, the world could be in a much deeper shit than it is. There are reasons why we have lawyers and activists. Do not expect everyone to have a high sense of reasoning to take the best decisions at all times.
I wonder why you are on a defensive side. Probably because you are one of them.
Why are you siding your friend? People like you are why businesses fail. You agree to a credit and when it's time to pay back you then realise the conditions are outrageous!

Read out what you wrote here, and see whether that makes sense. The government has received series of complaints from people using these loan apps. That's why they are taking action. Why not question the government too?
our discussion did not start from what the government has done but from the 15k to pay 23k you called a rip off.

It is very very possible that if your contact borrowed the 15k from you, he may not have paid back and may never pay back. ...and sensing that he may not pay back, you may not even lend him the money. So allow him to face the loan sharks. Whoever that goes to loan sharks, let him or her face their music.

So how is that affects you bro, dis you wakes up this morning and pray to God to offend people today?
Or are you a staff of one of the companies?

I don't understand you at all.
I am not offending anybody. Simply don't cry more than the bereaved.

It is a rip off to me. To him it may seem okay. You get my point?
If he was asked to take 15k to pay 18k, it will still be outrageous to some people! So don't crt for people when they go into an agreement.

Why can't you guys comprehend a simple argument?

The rip off here implies the outrageous interest rate this loan sharks using to robb the public.

So where have he gone wrong in his statement?
it was not outrageous to the person that took the loan. So why cry for the person?

Taking a loan is something of a last resort. His was for medical purpose. But it has been cleared, so the music has stopped playing.
Whether it was cleared or not. You should not call that a rip off. Your friend saw it and went for it. Its not a rip off.

Most of these loan sharks are criminals. The government needs to look into their activities properly. Imagine one of the so-called loan sharks worker called me yesterday, complaining about one of my contacts that borrowed money.

I called the contact later to get more info. It turned out that he borrowed 15K to pay 23k in one week. Just imagine the rip-off.

On top of that, he asked for one week extension, but was denied.

This is not how loan firms operate in other countries. Their policies, interest rates, and debt recovery methods are something else.
He saw 15k to pay 23k and he still went ahead to take the loan. Let him face the music.

I met an farmer oil palm farmer that wants me to invest some money right now to prune his trees and he will supply me oil at 18k per 25 liters against october to January.

Is this a good bargain or is there a tendency for palm oil to go lower in the coming months
If want to invest in a farmer and you want the farmer to pay back with oil, let the farmer supply oil at the prevailing price as at the time he is making the oil. Then add an intetest in terms of oil too. Something like, if you give 200k, you get 200k worth of oil plus 25litres oil as interest.

The said event is..... After I got all my oil and negotiated price with my buyer, on getting to his location he changed price and came up with the excuse that there is much oil in the market.

I had no choice than to move the oil to my location in Niger State.

Although, before then I have gradually planned out how I will create an oil Depot in the community I stay since there is non.

The decision to open an oil Depot really paid us.

It afforded me the opportunity of a direct market and controlling price by myself.

Creating a Market for yourself is a very hard task, but it's easy to do.
When you negotiate price, make sure it's in line with market trend. Don't have one buyer, have plenty so that you can have options when one fails. Goodluck

Hi guys? Top of the day to you!
Trust we're doing great in this beautiful economic weather?
Ok I don't want to sound like a broken record but you see, those of you who deal at the production/wholesale stage to some of us retailers, you need to do well.
It's not everytime we have to call you out
Doing business with each other shouldn't leave a sour taste in our mouth.
That being said,if I give you my very hard earned money to buy premium quality palm oil, please anything short of that is unacceptable.
Don't pass off storage oil as freshly milled. Don't sell badly processed palm oil to us.
Most importantly, DON'T SEND OIL IN VERY DIRTY UNHYGIENICALLY FIT KEGS!!!!!
Majority of us live in Lagos,a place already stressful going out and coming but we try because it's where were strive to make ends meet.
Some of us don't have luxury of space and also can't afford the back and forth of trying to salvage bad oil when sent either through cooking again, filtering and all. We didn't bargain for the whole Stress.
PLEASE IF YOU ARE SENDING OIL DOWN, CONSIDER US, DON'T PUNISH US FOR NOTHING.
Sometimes there are domestic accident: imagine spilling hot oil on your body or on the ground while you are trying to boil and filter, aside from the shortage. We can't be feeling apprehensive each time we order stuff.
Please to all those concerned, DO BETTER!!!
May God help us all
One hard thing I have learnt in this oil business is that if you want the very best, do the business full time. Make sure you inspect the oil from the mill or the Miller before paying.
