The governor visited the traditional ruler days after the letter Adeyemi wrote to him went viral.

OSINBAJO AT LATE ESCORT RIDER’S VILLAGE, EXPRESSES GRIEF, PRAISES OFFICER’S DILIGENT SERVICE

*Assures family, community of government’s support

“Late Inspector Ali Gomina was an officer that was loved by many, he served very dutifully and diligently. We are all very sad when this happened. It is terrible.”

Those were the words of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, earlier today when he paid a condolence visit to the family of late Inspector Ali Gomina and the entire Gui community in the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

Prof. Osinbajo arrived the community at about 3.45 pm accompanied by aides and was received by the Chief of the village, Alhaji Alhassan Yussuf and other leaders of the community.

After prayers by the Imam of Gui community mosque, Abubakar Jibril and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor in the community, Pastor Adegbe Julius, the Vice President spent time interacting with the family especially the widow of the deceased, Asiya Ali Gomina and his first son, Ali Kabiru Gomina, expressing his condolence and encouraging them.

Addressing the chief of the village and others shortly after interacting with the family, Prof. Osinbajo said “We all loved him. He served very dutifully and diligently. We are all very sad when this happened. It is terrible. We were all there and saw it happen and we are very pained by it. This is the reason we have all come, to commiserate with the family and the community.”

Assuring the family and the community of government’s support to both the immediate family of the late officer and the community in general, the Vice President said “I am here today myself to see his children, and see what we can do to help the family, and in his honour, what we can do to help his community.”

Prof. Osinbajo then prayed “God will help and sustain his family, we pray that all will be well with his family and community.

“We will also see what we can do to assist the community in whatever way. God bless you, well done.”

Late Inspector Ali Gomina, aged 45, one of the police escort riders in the Office of the Vice President, was killed in a road accident while on official duty on Friday 13th March 2020.

Gomina died after a runaway Toyota Camry car ran into him, knocking him and throwing him down against a moving tanker way ahead of the convoy on the expressway to the airport in Abuja.

This thread is created to share my experience on the new Lagos BRT buses deployed to move Lagosians intrastate.

This review is based on personal experience,having using the buses to get to places around some parts of Lagos, i can say its a cool one.

The buses seems to be doing well but with few damages which if neglected, it will accumulate and later incure more huge cost in repairing.

USB PORTS
Some USB ports seems to be damaged;of which damages were caused by passengers carelssness. Although some ports seems to be working perfectly well.

SEATS
All seats are perfectly in place. None appears to be damaged in the buses have boarded over the last two months.

PRICES
The new BRT bus cost relatively the same as other commercial transits but passangers still opt for it due to its on-board air conditioner, free wifi(2g) and convenience.

CHASIS
External parts of some buses seems to have suffered from scratches and dents caused by slight collisions and impatient drivers around the streets of Lagos.

INTERIOR
Interior seems to be wow as the look is somthing to behold.

This are just my review over the last few months have been moving around Lagos with the bus facilities. Maintenance culture needs to be put in place so the buses don't just go back to the cloud before time.

Trust the Nigerian govt at your own detriment. We just have to rely solely on God to help us in this country.
BTW thought the govt said they were fully prepared for this and also this lying govt shouldn't try to play games as they usually do on serious matter cause this is no respecter of persons or position.

Where should i start from? Is it the poor facilities that d govt (not)provided or d useless Italian that wanted 2 run. If there is no light or fan, let him buy 4 his own personal use now. Afterall many well-to-do families do that in 9ja.
I once saw a family that brought a generator and fan to one hospital in sagamu when i was serving there in 2010 because it was hot and there was no light.

That man is stingy and wicked wallahi! Haba! he could have done such even 4 his own PERSONAL USE!

Pls my fellow Nairalanders,

I have been married for 8years now. My husband is nice and caring but I don't like the fact that he likes moving at night. He comes home as late as 12am.

He is currently looking for a job now and most times his reason for coming home late is because he is hanging out with friends. I have discussed this issue with him severally and expressed that I don't like his night movement. On such occasions he will promise not to come home late but the promise is never kept. I have told him the dangers of moving late in a city like Lagos.

The annoying part is that he is not coming home late from work rather because he i s with friends. Most times our young children will stay up late hoping to see him before going to bed but they will wait in vain as he will not be home before they will sleep off.

Note: Even though I'm working, I make sure the house is clean and food ready before he comes home. I don't nag and I'm good looking.

Pls I need suggestions on how to make him stop this night waka.

It would be recalled that Boko Haram insurgents who have since taken to attacking soft targets, carried out a raid on certain members of the public who were prevented from entering the Maiduguri metropolis due to the curfew being in effect.

It was also held for the death of former Chief of Naval Staff, the late Vice-Admiral Patrick Koshoni. The naval chief died on January 25, 2020, after a brief illness. Born in Lagos on April 11, 1943, Koshoni joined the navy on June 11, 1962, after his secondary education at St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka, Lagos. That same year he started the naval cadetship training at the National Defence Training Academy in India and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant on July 13, 1964. Left to mourn him are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Koshoni; children and grandchildren.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, presided over the session in the absence of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.). who is currently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the 33rd Ordinary Session of Presidents and Governments of the African Union.
