Celebrities / Lil Wayne's Seizure Was Caused By Epilepsy Not Sizzurp by Ijawboi(m): 4:51pm On Mar 29, 2013
Lil Wayne has disclosed the cause of seizures that recently put him in the hospital, and they have nothing to do with sizzurp, he says: He has epilepsy.

"The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures," Wayne said yesterday when he called in to Los Angeles radio station Power 106 for his first interview since he was hospitalized earlier this month. "Like, this isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could've died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself."

The rapper, who was home from the hospital in time for the release this week of his latest album, I Am Not a Human Being II, said he has seizures often enough that the people around him are experienced in dealing with them when they occur.

"They already know how to handle it," he said. "Certain times I don't even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because, like I said, it was three in a row, and I've never had three back to back like that."

Education / Exam Preparations : Sex Stimulates Studying Stamina In Students by Ijawboi(m): 1:26pm On Mar 25, 2013
This isn’t another one of those cliched exam
prep blog posts that give you the typical a) get
rid of distractions and b) theres power in
numbers, study in a group – study tips.
We all know the usual study tips, but here’s
what most people won’t tell you
HAVE SEX BEFORE STUDYING
Studies have proven that having sex
improves focus. Many pre-exam study help
guides advise that people who tend to get
distracted easily and who often get antsy
when sitting and focusing on one thing for
too long should get active. Kelly Roell from
About.com Guide says
“Some people are just antsy. They need to
be doing something, and their bodies don’t
make the connection that they are doing
something during studying. Sound familiar?
If you’re one of them, get out a few things to
anticipate an “ants in your pants” issue: a
pen, a rubber band, and a ball.
1. Pen: Underline words when you
read. Cross off incorrect answers
when you’re taking a practice
test. Moving just your hand may
be enough to shake off the
jitters. If it’s not…
2. Rubber band. Stretch it. Wrap it
around your pen. Play with the
rubber band while you’re
answering questions. Still feeling
jumpy?
3. Ball. Read a question sitting
down, and then stand and
bounce the ball against the floor
as you think of an answer. Still
can’t focus?
4. Jump. Read a question sitting
down, then stand and do ten
jumping jacks. Sit back down
and answer the question”

Continuing with the theme of staying active
in order to improve your focus, let’s skip the
rubber band and jumping jacks and take this
‘getting physical’ thing to the next level.
According to USA Today, Harvard University
completed a study proving my sex-before-
exams theory:”2,250 participants were
prompted at random times throughout the
day using an iPhone Web application. They
were asked how they were feeling, what they
were doing, if they were thinking about
something other than what they were doing
and whether whatever they were
contemplating was pleasant (say,
daydreaming about a vacation), unpleasant
(perhaps worrying about a relationship or
finances) or neutral in nature.According to
the study, participants spent nearly 47% of
their waking hours with their mind in a
wandering state. “This study shows that our
mental lives are pervaded, to a remarkable
degree, by the non-present,” Killingsworth
said. That is, with one notable exception.
When describing what they were doing,
participants could choose from 22 activities,
including walking, eating, shopping, watching
TV, commuting and working. The only activity
during which people seemed to be quite good
at staying on task mentally was while making
love. During sex, only 10% of people reported
wandering thoughts.”Of course there are still
those who would prefer not to use sex as a
studying tool, but don’t feel
overlooked because this post applies to you
as well. Beyond the fact that the participants
were having sex, they were happier and
therefore found focusing on studying easier
to achieve.
“Generally, people also reported being the
happiest when making love, exercising or
conversing. They said they were least happy
when resting or sleeping, working or using a
home computer….And while people who
were thinking of pleasant things were
happier than people thinking of unpleasant
things, even those thinking happy thoughts
were less happy than people who were fully
engaged in whatever they were doing…
Barbara Becker Holstein, a psychologist and
“happiness coach” in Long Branch, N.J., said
the findings speak to the importance of doing
things that provide a sense of purpose and
meaning. Such activities make it easier to stay
focused”
For your exams this semester try something
new; instead of becoming a hobbit and hiding
on the 10th floor of the library try staying
social and doing the things you enjoy all year
round. Staying positive and attempting to
avoid cluttering your mind with stress is the
key goal. Sex may help some because it’s hard
to focus on anything other than that moment
of ecstasy (or at least it should be…) and yoga,
basketball or maybe even video games is
better for some because it helps channel all of
your focus into one goal without clouding
your mind with your upcoming test. Try
activities that keep you positive and stress
free before cracking open your course
readers.

BETTER YET!
Crack open the condoms before cracking
open the course packs…. HAHAHA! I’m on a
roll in this blog post! (pats self on the back) I
think I deserve a happy-pre studying activity
for this post =D

What are some tricks you use for studying?
If you’ve actually tried having sex or
other activities before studying what were
the results?

1. THE SUSPENSION

It is one of the most common used techniques and it can be a good exercise. As you can see, it is to stay with your butt in the air..

2. THE FROG

This is only for real experts. This is done by squatting on the toilet seat.. You should make sure that your back pockets are empty..

3. THE MUMMY

Mummify with a toilet paper, sit and relax.

it is like coke?
Anyway, am a little confused here. There is a cough syrup with codeine meant for children, (not infants).
My older son was given at a time when his cough defiles all other cough syrup n d cough disappeared after a while.
if this codeine is bad, why make it with other substance for kids? l may have to google this to double sure. l will surely stay clear of it.
its only effective when taken in large quantities...

Promethazine w/Codeine syrup
Any fruit flavored soda
A jolly rancher

Put it all in a styrofoam cup and enjoy. The
codeine is mainly responsible for the
euphoria felt after drinking sizzurp.
Promethazine causes motor skill
impairment, lethargy, and extreme
drowsiness. If it doesn't have
promethazine, it ain't real sizzurp.

Fashion / Pink Lip Tattoos – The Latest In Nigerian Men’s Fashion by Ijawboi(m): 10:58pm On Mar 16, 2013
One of the most bizarre beauty procedure I’ve
recently come across is tattooing the lips pink,
which is apparently very popular in the African
county of Nigeria. The main reason for this
practice seems to be that women find men with
pink lips more attractive.
The other day, someone emailed me a link to a
video of a Nigerian guy getting his lower lip
tattooed pink, in what looks like a
very unhygienic tattoo parlor. To be honest, I
thought it was just an isolated case, a guy who
just wanted to be different, like the girl who
tattooed Drake’s name on her forehead. But it
got me intrigued, and after doing some
research online, it seems this really is a trend
among Nigerian men. According to
Battabox.com, who documented the procedure
in the short video, young men pay around 7,000
Nigerian Naira ($45) to have their black lips
cleaned of excess skin and tattooed with a pink
paint to make them lighter. Although the guy in
the video didn’t show any signs of pain, having
a sensitive spot like the lips tattooed can’t be
very pleasant.
Apparently, having pink lips is a coveted
aesthetic feature in Nigeria, and tattooing is the
most common way to achieve it. The results are
permanent, but according to Nigerian Best
Forum, it has a number of downsides. First,
there’s the pain associated with the process,
then the possibility of skin irritation, as well as
a prolonged stinging sensation
and inflammation of the lips. If not properly
done, you can even grow keloids. And
considering the tattoo artist in the video isn’t
even wearing rubber gloves, I’d say the risk of
infection is petty high. But, people have done
stranger things in the name of beauty…
But there are less extreme ways of making
black lips pink. Just removing the dirt particles,
oil and dead skin cells that accumulate on the
lips throughout the day and washing them with
rosewater can make a big difference, and if that
doesn’t work, a mix of almond oil and lemon
juice is said to make the lips smoother and
redder.

Politics / Re: 3 Arrested Over Patience’s Stolen Properties by Ijawboi(m): 12:43pm On Mar 08, 2013
Jettage: How about the loots stolen from Nigeria, Who will Collect the many loots stolen by her from Nigeria In August 206, the EFCC seized the sum of N104 million from one Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu, an associate of Patience Jonathan. On August 22, 2006, Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court, gave EFCC the legal backing to retain the N104 million seized from an associate of Patience Goodluck, the wife of then governor of Bayelsa state, Goodluck Jonathan, who is now the president of Nigeria.

The order was to stay in place “pending the conclusion of the investigation of the activities of the said persons in connection with their involvement in the acts of money laundering and other economic and financial crimes related offences.” The EFCC’s position was that Patience Jonathan stole the money from the public coffers of Bayelsa and was trying to launder it through her friend, Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu.

Like a crack addict willing to do anything for a high, Patience Jonathan was not going to give up her addiction to treasury looting simply because Nuhu Ribadu’s EFCC was on her trail. Determined to prove that only mere mortals shivered at the sight of EFCC, she continued with her looting of Bayelsa’s treasury with the full cooperation and assistance of her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, who was the then governor of Bayelsa state. The duo was so successful that on September 11, 2006, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) again seized another $13.5 million dollars (US) from Mrs. Patience Jonathan. Criminal charges were brought against her and Nigerians were awaiting her prosecution to the full extent of the law. Shortly thereafter and in the face of these serious allegations, the insensitive Olusegun Obasanjo and his PDP that had become a den of thieves, nominated Goodluck Jonathan to be the running mate of Yar'Adua.

Fast forward to post 2007 elections. Goodluck Jonathan is now The president of Nigeria, when president Jonathan manages to wake up from his near-permanent slumber he rants about his “zero tolerance” for corruption, despite having an indicted man as his personal secretary and dinning and whining with James Ibori. Farida Waziri would want anyone listening to believe that the presidency does not interfere with EFCC’s decision making process and Yar Adua proclaimed this much immediately after the conviction of Bode George.

After trying to deceive the public by blaming the judiciary alone for the near snail speed prosecution of public officials facing corruption charges and then advocating for psychiatric assessment for public officials who dared to steal more money than she realized from defending criminals and scheming a percentage off the money she is recovering for the banks. Farida
Waziri is in the news again. This time around, she is advocating for the death penalty for treasury looters. It will be easier to understand Farida’s cries if she had prosecuted and jailed the corrupt public officials under existing laws and was now seeking the death penalty to discourage reoccurrence. But we all know this is not the case.

Notwithstanding the hypocrisy involved in Farida’s “notice-me” advocacies, I am in complete agreement with her that public officials found guilty of corruption should be tied to the stake and publicly executed. My only concern is she is aware of the fact that she would be among the first to be tied to the stake and executed under the full glare of Nigerians should corruption be made a capital offence? Sorry for the diversion and back to the issue of patience Jonathan.

The case against patience Jonathan has gone cold since Jonathan Goodluck became the vice president of Nigeria. The case has gone cold despite relentless denials of political interference by the EFCC and the presidency, although the president has publicly acknowledged directing investigations into certain allegations when such suits his political purpose. It has gone cold despite Yar Adua’s broken-record equivalent repetitiveness of zero tolerance for corruption, a repetitiveness that leaves Nigerians with two options: the president is either “419”ing Nigerians with his proclamations or lacking the intellectual capacity to comprehend what constitutes corruption.

In the past, Farida Waziri has been quick to blame Sahara Reporters and its ardent followers for drowning out her so called anti-corruption message, despite her trepidations and failure to grant a single no holds barred interview to members of the “non-friendly” press since assuming office. This is her chance. Nigerians want to know what happened to the case of EFCC vs. Patience Jonathan. You can lie to a blind person that there is no oil in the food but you cannot lie that there is no salt.

Geomac: Ketu area of Lagos State was thrown into confusion after the shocking discovery of the corpses of two toddlers, Toheeb Adedokun and Tajudeen Falilu, who disappeared in January.
PUNCH Metro had reported exclusively on January 30, 2013, that the missing children were suspected to have been kidnapped when all efforts to locate them proved abortive.
However, the corpses of the children were found in an abandoned vehicle, two houses away from their parents’ home on Taike Street.
Reliable sources told our correspondent that the vehicle was a Honda Pilot Sports Utility Vehicle which the owner had used as collateral and thus abandoned it.
The source said after the children wandered off, they went into the vehicle and were trapped inside, causing them to suffocate.
He said, “We had searched all over for the children to no avail and assumed they were kidnapped. Even the police thought it was kidnap. Only if we had known that the children were trapped in a vehicle in the next compound, we would have saved them.”
The spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the discovery to our correspondent on the telephone.
