benalvino3:Everything you say speaks to the fact you look down on others which speaks to the reason you hate those who live in the US, jealousy that you think they are better than you. So you want to tear them down and diminish their accomplishments, so you can feel better than them and about yourself. Look at the lies about me you keep repeating. I'm poor, my Dad's poor, my girl's poor, my relatives are poor. You like these delusional worlds of yours. You already think you're a White Republican who lives in Florida. So, why not. Keep it up.. as long it soothes you at night. But really though, the other day you were saying my family is from Ajegunle which I assume is a socio-economically disadvantaged area in Lagos. As if, because people live there, they are bad people? Today, my relations are poor. Because people struggling in Nigeria and maybe don't have the privileges I was afforded are what, trash? Very Christian attitude of yours don't you think? Yeah, Qatar is a layover destination. Clap for yourself. I guess that's where you go when you can't get a visa. Maybe you can stock up on some skin bleaching cream to make the trip worth it. |
benalvino3:This guy. You'd be a great psychological case study. A black man who hates his own skin and lives in a thread of a foreign country he's never been to and says he hates. I'm sure it all boils down to forms of jealousy and insecurity. Even if you wanted a US Visa, the shit you write in this thread, would most likely disqualify you. You keep asking I'll keep sharing. As to my girl, part of her contract, outside the free Lagos apartment, car, driver, cook, cleaners, etc. is 3 business class round trip tickets a year so she can "work" out of their NY office as she was based in the US before moving to Nigeria. You wouldn't understand it because of those "options" we talked about earlier Who eats and drinks and posts pictures... AH. This pic is your profile picture right? With the Golden Tulip prominently displayed so all can see? How long did it take to arrange that brochure? lol. I would have at least posted a pic at the Wheatbaker. You can spell Hypocrisy right?
|
benalvino3:This topic's resident Racist, who believes he's a White man who lives in the US. I see you still don't understand the difference between those Nigerians who have options where to live and choose to live in Nigeria vs. those without the option who have to live there and do things like raise chickens. FYI, my g/f is currently in her apartment in NY(where her company is headquartered) and my dad is in his house in Boston. You know, those Nigerians with options I referenced earlier. |
armyofone:Lol. Was this post meant as shade? Benalvino3 has never been nor does he live in the US. |
CoolUsername:Who is posturing? What has Bragg said or done that is posturing? |
CoolUsername:So on one side we have the Manhattan DA (District Attorney) who is an actual lawyer and has a team of top lawyers all intimately knowledgeable of NY's laws and statute of limitations, who decided to empanel a Grand Jury. On the other side, we have a guy who lives in Nigeria, who I don't think is a lawyer, who hasn't passed the BAR in NY, let alone fully understands NY law, doesn't know what legal theory Bragg is contemplating or even what charges he may file, wants to tell us about the statute of limitations. Ask yourself, which person's legal opinion would you go with? |
Giving how the Appeals court did Trump a couple of days ago (they put an end to his delay tactics and denied his appeal within 24 hours), things aren't looking good for him
|
Lol.
|
benalvino3:Very illuminating post. The kind of post I'd expect from a Racist white person. Go figure. Wanted to archive it. |
I was thinking about what McCarthy did with Alvin Bragg. If anyone is interested, you should read Alvin Bragg's response to Jim Jordon's letter asking him to testify before congress. Basically, a Republican chair of a committee who believes in States rights threatened to drag a State DA to Congress, not because of an indictment he HAD made (which would still be an abuse of power), but only because a member of their party said he would be indicted on a certain day most likely to raise money. So, without knowing the charges or knowing the evidence behind any charges, they decided to try to Bully a DA into not filing charges. That is pure Weaponization of the Fed government. The kind of stuff that happens in Banana Republics where certain people are above the law. And the Democratic party response?... crickets. Democracy dies in darkness.. the Democratic party has to wake up and stop hoping people are smart enough to figure it out. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/03/23/manhattan-da-denies-house-republican-info-request-donald-trump-case-00088520

Wow. You can't have a rational discussion with Benalivo3. The way he thinks is a meld of his lack of critical thinking skills and then a lot cognitive dissonance because he can't resolve being wrong, which empirically, he always mostly is. So, he'll argue and argue just not to be wrong. And as most Trumpers, they think they are smarter than they are, as if "FEELINGS" substitute for actually logical arguments based in fact. I learned when he spend days arguing people with Boosters are getting Covid at higher rates than the Unvaccinated, even though scientifically that would make no sense and the articles he himself posted said otherwise. It was startling. |
Obrigardo:Nice.. Good stuff. |
Trump is going to finish Desantis before Desantis even starts.
|
Obrigardo:You actually made the ones you posted? |
These were great.
|
Obrigardo:They denied the appeal. Crime-Fraud Exemption. Wonder if he's going to appeal it further. The courts are wise to his trying to game the system. |
uglymods:I'm not sure what you are going on about.. it's incoherent and the post seems somewhat deranged to me. Honestly, have you ever said anything intelligent in this thread? Wait.. have you ever written a complete sentence? |
Obrigardo:I just realized this mornings how Normalized I have become to Trump's abnormal ways. How amazing is it that people are barely shrugging that a Federal judge using the rarely used CRIME/FRAUD exception is forcing the Attorney of an Ex-President to testify. And the attorney/client privilege is sacrosanct in the US. Let that sink in. One attorney has already been to jail. His attorneys have to get attorneys. What a time we are living in. |
uglymods:Since you seem to be curious. My Dad holds a US and Nigerian passport. He is retired and spends 70% of the year in Nigeria in his various houses(yeah, that was purposeful) in the East and Lagos and the rest of the time in his house in the US. But the point is some of those who don't have the ability to leave have to accept their circumstances. And I've met a lot of Nigerians who seem to be comfortable accepting those circumstances and not expecting more. |
Obrigardo:Hypocrisy is the GOP's strong suit.
|
CoolUsername:This person makes the argument not prosecuting Trump is treating him above the law. He argues prosecuting the crime of falsifying business records is common in NY. He adds cases to back up his point. budaatum:Compare what happened post Holocaust to what happened post slavery. Could you imagine finding Hitler's bust anywhere? budaatum:You're more hopeful than I. There was a recent poll that said Conservatives would want an autocratic government if it supported their views. I think Trump's election was a seismic shift in terms of how people view Democracy. budaatum:Yes, I was both siding it when I really meant the Biden roll backs were good. But still, the US I think is far behind things like basic infrastructure (Detroit - lead in the water, failing Bridges, etc.) let alone developing for the future. And that is a byproduct of having crazy Republican rule and hence no continuation of policies. I didn't even know Carter had put solar panels on the White-House and Reagan took them down. Imagine where the US would had been now if we had invested in Solar then. In terms of systems being accepted. I'm thinking more of the future as China becomes a bigger player and more people see the upsides of having a dictator vs. democracy. Already thanks to Trump Democracy is backsliding in countries like Mexico and Israel. In fact, as I said, I could see Republicans embracing it. |
budaatum:You are right about the majority position vis a vis Brown v. Board. Found a "poll", that had it at 55-40 in support right after the decision. But that 49% of whites supported it. In researching that I wondered about the Dread Scott decision (basically a US Supreme court decision that said African Americans could never be US citizens) and found the justice who penned the decision still his bust prominently displayed in Congress up until 2022 when it was replaced with a bust of Thurgood Marshall. The US really really didn't give a sh*t about black people. Agree about the education, but that is all good until you have someone like a DeSantis decide what can and can't be thought. But, there is a real debate in terms of what type of system works best. Look at China. They have the ability to strategize and implement long term objectives(belt and road, energy, infrastructure.. etc etc.) because they have a dictator for life. While every 4 years a new US President comes in and rolls back what the previous one did while Congress is focused on platitudes trying to win the next election. |
budaatum:Benaalvino3 seems to an appeaser mixed with side of Stockholm syndrome. But I guess living in Nigeria may do that to you. At a point some people have to be ok not wanting more or expecting more to be sane right? So, why should black people want equality when they should be happy with what they have. Or why should Ukrainians want their liberty and freedom, when they should just be happy taking what the Russians are giving them or allow them to have. Look at his last argument. Basically, just be happy you are in the US, don't complain about lack of equality, don't expect better or more. It's like his soul has been dominated. |
Republicans arguing that Trump paying off a PORN STAR who he was cheating on his pregnant wife with is a purely personal matter because he used personal funds. Ha. "The party of Christ". It's going to be a crazy, very interesting "Legal" period if Trump does get indicted and has to stand trail somewhere. It's going to strain our Legal institution and the concept that everyone is equal under the law.. well publicly strain it as we know it's not true. Ex. What happens with the Secret Service if he has to stand trial? How do they protect him without prejudicing the Prosecution? Can they be in court, do they sit next to him? Can they research the jurors for threats? And if he does run for President at the same time? What if he gets indicted and convicted and is in jail, yet somehow wins the Presidency? Can he be president. The last one is a stretch but seems there will be a lot of issues that spring up. |
Obrigardo:Imagine a person who lives in a country where he will never be a racial minority and who's never been anywhere where he can understand being a racial minority lecturing to others on what racism is or isn't. |
budaatum:I would say yes, if tempered with minority rights. Thinking what the majority opinion in the US would have been during Brown v. Board of Education. But, I do think people's opinions change so there should be a period where a leader can implement things that may be unpopular and let them play out. In the US we have impeachment if a President does something that outrageous, but needs a supermajority to pass. But, yes standing up in Parliament would be nice. I think only two recent Presidents would have been effective. Clinton and Obama. Bush 2 was an idiot. Trump was an idiot who didn't study. Biden is knowledgeable but always made gaffes and his age doesn't help. To the rest, I'm not knowledgeable enough about UK political systems to have an informed perspective. |
To inject a little fact into this fiction. John Edwards was indicted for similar. And at the time there was widespread belief that he would be the Dem standard bearer after Kerry lost. He was indicted soon after that election by his ex rival Bush's DOJ (edit). I don't remember any Dem holding hearings on the politicization of the Justice Department for going after an ex-VP candidate and former Senator who was most likely running again. https://www.businessinsider.com/john-edwards-last-presidential-candidate-charged-with-campaign-finance-violations-2023-3

budaatum:I'm not so sure. Sometimes policies take time to percolate and there may be intense anger at it's inception. Seems like a recipe to hue too closely to current popular opinion. |
Obrigardo:He's definitely not well. Gives off Christian Cultish vibes like Branch Davidian. As you said, I can't imagine someone spending day and night immersed in all that fringe Right wing propaganda. |
BraniacX:Yes, mostly agree with the first part. But I do believe the US always leans toward moral justice as evidenced by what Carter did. Yes, that is what Russia is trying to do. I don't see it being successful as well since the West esp. Europe also has an imperative not to allow Russia to control that region and what it produces. I'm really not sure what Russia is doing, seems very destructive esp. in this generation. But I watched some of Zelensky's tv show "servant of the People" and was amazed at how much of a Western influence the show had. Even jokes based on Western history. I can understand why Russia hates it so. |
BraniacX:Ideally, yes. The issue is the yes man, not forging strategic alliances. Nigeria is so far behind that we do need strategic partnerships and we can negotiate good deals if we have good leadership. And I'd rather the US align with the US/Western alliances than what is shaping up to be a China led alternative. |
