Weregonnalose:Eating dumplings and drinking Malbec = flying around a private jet? Poverty must suck. |
benalvino3:It's 7:40 here in Boston. I'm in my home office waiting for a simulation to finish on one monitor. On another have this site open laughing at you while my Tidal is playing a Naiji mix of songs (listening to that song Girlfriend right now). I am drinking a glass of Malbec(my homegirl brought me during Xmas from a wine brand she manages in a NAPA vineyard) while nibbling on some thai dumplings with peanut butter sauce (Yum) I just had delivered, while messaging friends on Whatsapp figuring out which lounge we're linking up at tonight. Now help me. What time is it there? And what did you do tonight? Ahahhahahahahah It's good to know when you lost. And you've lost. |
benalvino3:1.) Your third post on this and still no CDC data/study. Lol.. If you had actually reviewed the data and knew where it was, you would have posted it. 2.) So, you wasted your time looking for and posting a video (instead of the data I asked). And are now trying to discredit the video you yourself wasted time looking for and posting instead of the data I asked because it doesn't say what you thought it did? Ahahhahah.. Holy sh*t, you're a dumb*ss. Ahahahahah 3.) Confirmation bias? More like intelligence bias. I told you I'm allergic to bumb*sses like yourself. Honestly, ARE YOU WELL? and are you not TIRED of embarrassing yourself? 4.) FYI, thanks for the Fri. night laughs.. You're so out of your depth. |
benalvino3:1.) Lol. Your source was not the CDC. Your source was a video you watched online which claims that their source was the CDC. You didnt see the study, didn't see the data and didn't see the methodology if there was a study. If you had, you would have linked it. That is the difference between you and I, I don't bullshit. 2.) Now to the video you linked. It doesn't even say what you think it does. As I thought, and even the the doctor explains, if you even watched it, that the people who take the booster are a self selected group of people. They are probably more likely to go get actual reported tests done than at home tests which aren't reported. So, if they are reporting their positive tests more than people who probably got vaccinated (just to fill some requirement(travel)), of course their group would show more positive results. So, until there is a study done on how many people and what type of people are actually taking reported tests, the incremental statistical increase MEANS nothing. 3.) As, I said earlier, if you do have a degree in a Science related field, use the stuff you've learned to think through some of this stuff. But at this point it sounds like you don't. You're trying to simplify highly complex stuff. There are people with PHD's in these fields and somehow you think you know better than them based on some 5 minute video you watched. And you're dispensing medical misinformation based on that. Welcome to our idiocracy. |
benalvino3:Why don't you post the source of whatever numbers you have clearly misunderstood here. What you wrote sounds so much like rubbish I can guarantee, without even seeing it, that you have no understanding of what you have read. I'll be waiting. And I'm expending my energy on your bullshit, because you are purposefully spreading medical misinformation because your ego won't allow you to admit you're wrong or you have no idea how to read/interpret data. |
It seems to be too nuanced an argument for your pea sized brain to understand. More vaccinated people catching the virus does not equate to vaccinated people EASILY catching the virus. For all we know the rate could have increased from 1% to 2% compared to 70-80% for unvaccinated people (making up numbers to make a point). Does that make it easily? Again, numbers and details matter in everything. Stop sounding like an idiot and if you actually did graduate with a degree in anything science related, use what you learned. |
benalvino3:Smart enough? Until you've entered a Harvard Classroom or graduated summa cum laude from Harvard with a degree in Engineering, Economics and Math I'd honestly stfu about who's smarter. Even the article you posted.. did you even read past the headline. Did you understand the article? One thing I have disdain for is stupid people. I'm allergic to them. And this thread seems to attract its fair share. From the article:
|
benalvino3:1.) It's "get boosted" not "go for boosted". 2.) The rest of your post again is misinformation. Who, who has been boosted, is catching the virus easily? Do you even know how vaccines work? You should do some research from actual "REAL" sources before posting medical misinformation that could cause someone to die. Think about it. |
benalvino3:Try this. Produce some peer reviewed stats that show a correlation between excess mortality and the covid shot. You won't be able to because Science isn't based on your Feelings. And for some personal data. Everyone around me is vaxed, doubly and triple vaxxed. And the majority of people around me work out, High intensity type stuff for the most part as I do. I know of noone who has died suddenly of any heart conditions. My neighbor, an emergency room doc, did die of covid before the vaccines came out though. Honestly, you should stop posting this nonsense. |
1stGenAmerican:They should but it's become a nationalistic exercise. Can't admit that the West produced something better. |
McCarthy seems to have lost the 11th ballot as well. |
McCarthy has lost the 10th ballot as well. |
armyofone:Cool. Which books? |
Kevin McCarthy seems to have lost the 9th Ballot as well. |
armyofone:Yes, a lot of people use idioms. But idioms are generally reflective of ones culture. I explained how in the US a lot of standardized tests are biased against minorities/immigrants because of the same assumptions you are making. Words even have connotations. Since I found the "Do you like Reading" somewhat insulting. I studied Latin for 7 years (and a couple of other languages). Since Latin is a foundation for Romance Languages and English has a lot of Latin borrowed words, I can understand what the person intended to convey themselves instead of reading someone's translation (word choices/connotations/understanding). And with Greek, helps in better understanding what you read. FYI, I've probably read every classic there is, and some of them in Latin. Just saying, your view of language, words, culture and how they are intertwined is somewhat simplistic. And lastly are you arguing that idioms are only in English? Here is one definition of idiom: a form of expression natural to a language, person, or group of people. |
McCarthy seems to have lost the 8th ballot as well. |
armyofone:Honestly, not a fan of the word "common" when it comes to idiomatic expressions. It assumes there is a language culture/that is dominant. What is common in Nigeria, is not common in the middle east, is not common in the US. Are you saying it is a common Nigerian idiomatic expression or a worldwide one? |
McCarthy seems to have lost the 7th ballot as well. |
You're slightly off. budaatum:It doesn't say what's in your quote. Here is an analysis of it.
|
budaatum:Read Canterbury Tales back in highschool, forgot that reference or didn't fully understand it when I did. It's basically saying keep your distance from certain people. But without understanding the culture of the time, the expression is meaningless. Why would one need a long spoon to keep distance if you're not eating off the same plate as someone? A long table like Putin has would make more sense. No? |
The GOP has another black figurehead, a first term Rep who they allowed to speak. So, in 2 days we've seen or heard from about HALF of all the black members in the GOP. Interesting right. Interesting tidbits 1.) Gloated about doubling the amount of black people in the GOP caucus. There are 5 now. Lol. 2.) Gloated about a win. They won an adjournment last night. Literally, gloated about going home instead of finishing the work they were sent there for. 3.) Spoke about the opioid pandemic. This generally bothers me. Why are Republicans not treating the Opioid epidemic as a Law and Order issue rather than a health care issue like they did with Crack? Oh yeah, because it's white people dying and largely effects white people. I generally distrust any black Republican. |
armyofone:Yeah, explained it earlier. It's lack of cultural perspective. Raised in the US, and we don't commonly share the same plate of food. I have a friend who whenever I visit around dinner time asks me to sit down and eat fufu from the same bowl him and his wife are. I say no. I think it's weird and not sanitary. Interesting aside: It's the same reason they say standardized tests in the US are biased against minorities. Because some of the idioms and ideas in the tests, minorities haven't been culturalized to understand. Same way I struggle with Taboo(game) in Nigeria, the majority of clues people use go above my head. |
Donjazet2:Agreed! The guy you speak of gets banned weekly though and just opens up new accounts with similar names. It's sad. But the forum needs to do a better job of detecting it. |
saxywale2:Thanks. Got it. Interesting. There was a cultural perspective that was lost on me. Even in Nigeria, people generally share food/plates so a long spoon would be necessary. I don't generally share plates of food here, so couldn't see it. |
armyofone:Off topic. First time I've heard this, but why would you need a long spoon to eat with the devil? I can understand a long table, but spoon? |
Ibime:How will he "make the place scatter"? The Speakership isn't owned to anyone. I think it's over for him. The extremists you speak of are exactly that, extremists. I doubt they'll back down. He can only lose 4 and there are more than 4 who seem to personally not want him to win. The crazier thing is that we constitutionally don't have a House right now and so we don't have a functional Government. If something were to happen (terrorist attack), we would not be able to pass any bills as every bill has to go through the House and no elected member of the House is officially a member until they pick a speaker and then are sworn in. This mess extends further than just the Republicans. |
McCarthy seems to have lost the 6th Ballot as well. |
feedthenation:Love it. Have the vote streaming on one of my monitors. When I saw her had to put the volume up to listen to her. You too can not even graduate highschool, get your GED months before your election, win that election and become a US Rep. This is your modern day Republican party. |
sanpipita:If he does they may rally around Scalisle or Stefanik. But, it's going to be hard for either to govern. The right will feel empowered having beheaded McCarthy and there are a lot of Republicans who won Dem seats. Those people are going to want to keep those seats in 2 years and won't be eager to go along with the crazy side of the House. |
McCarthy seems to have lost the 5th Ballot as well. |
juman:That's what confuses me the most about this forum. Nigeria has terrible politicians, yet some here go across oceans to support terrible American ones as well. lol |
sanpipita:Don't think there will be a Dem deal with him. They may deal on a new consensus candidate. But after what McCarthy did on 1/6, he has no love from Dems. |
