I like the precedent. Justice being blind should apply to all.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland on Thursday appointed Robert K. Hur, a veteran prosecutor who worked in the Trump administration, to handle the investigation into how classified documents from President Biden’s time as vice president ended up at his private office and home.

Mr. Hur, who is a partner at the white-collar law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, had been appointed by Mr. Trump as the U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland in 2018, leaving that position when the Trump administration ended.
Is it really blind if you are basing your actions on political machinations? People removing Classified documents is not a rare thing. Usually the National archives gets called in and if necessary calls in the FBI. Trump's was different as he wouldn't give them back despite the national archives request, the DOJ request, a subpoena and a FBI search warrant. What necessitated a special prosecutor in this case? The Reps work the refs and always get rewarded. Dems are so weak. And not only did it not really necessitate a special prosecutor he chose a Republican appointed one. It's always the same, Dems choosing Republican FBI directors (Comey, Wray) and Republicans still calling them biased. Even when a Republican picks a Republican special prosecutor (Mueller), Republicans still call them biased. It's like the abused wife, saying only if I do this, to just get abused the next day.

What these action do is create an unequal application of Justice in Republicans favor.

Sorry dude, just frustrated. Not sure why I even vote Democratic.

DOJ will appoint special prosecutor. As I said Dems will always be Dems. They always let their decisions be influence by Republican propaganda. Look at the speed of appointing a special prosecutor for Biden vs. Trump.

You're officially a ret*rd.

They're negotiating because Trump want to keep the documents. But the DOJ is saying he did not go through the right process to properly declassify them before taking them out. That's the bone of contention.

Biden is saying he is unaware about the classified documents that have been found in 3 different places.

-Lord
Getting close. Even a declassified document would still be government property and not for Trump to keep. Even with evidence that Trump declassified them (There is 0 evidence yet and hasn't even claimed so in court), he still would have to return them. The difference in the Biden situation, Biden handed over everything that was in the same place as the documents that were classified out of an abundance of caution so the government can look and see what is theirs. Think about this for a sec. As to the classification, if Trump did declassify them, why not just say so in court and put the matter behind him? Why keep it secret?

Look, even the fact that we are hearing about this tells you something. How easy would it have been for Biden to just destroy the documents and not report them in the first location and even the 2nd? Instead he turned them in and walked into a political firestorm.

And they have only been found in 2 locations.

You are unwell. I gave you facts to refute, you neglected them and started to rigmarole.

I condensed it to simple short questions, you are too dense to answer.

You can read but you have missed everything on the by-the-minute discoveries of classified documents in Biden's garage.

You've missed everything on the Hunter laptop.

Guy, rest!

Just say Biden can do no wrong and move along.

Do you think you are the first person who's come into this thread with those very same talking points found on some right wing media outlet (most like twitter or facebook post)? Did this same thing with someone else a month ago. Just not interested in playing whack a mole. Now if you are interested in a real discussion, get familiar with the actual details, facts and the laws involved and we can have a better discussion about the differences between the Biden and Trump situations.

You wrote a lot of rubbish!

Did the FBI know the documents were in Mar A Lago or not? Did they go to the store room and ask for more locks to be added or not?

Did the FBI not ransack Melania's closet?

Did Trump not claim to have declassified the documents?

What does filing civil motion have to do with the difference between executive privilege and security clearance?

The law is clear. Mishandling of classified documents is itself an infraction. And Biden has clearly flouted this law with classified documents being found in THREE different locations. The latest in his garage. And preliminary evidence purports that the classified documents were transported multiple times. Compared to Trump who kept the documents he lays claim to in a secure store room under secret service protection.

And that's to say nothing of the Hunter Biden corruption case that has been placed on ice. That you had nothing to talk about.

Nonsense!

-Lord
I'm not going to be a researcher for you. God gave you the singular ability to be informed and with the advent of Google it's so much easier to. This has been discussed in this topic ad-nauseam. I've told you where to find this info. I'm sure you know how to google. In fact you can search this topic for the documents. Go get them and read the original source (the court documents where Trump's lawyers can't lie or they'll be sanctioned and possible disbarred), not whatever propaganda avenue you're getting your info from. Good luck..

Here's a clue. You said trump's lawyers were "negotiating". What are they negotiating? If the documents have classified markings, meaning they are government property and Trump has them what is there left to negotiate? And then ask yourself, in the Biden saga, where has it been reported that his team is "negotiating? By Trump's team negotiating, isn't that prima facia evidence Trump wanted to keep classified documents?
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by IjeBos(m): 6:03pm On Jan 12, 2023
LordAdam16:
Right on cue. You've received manufactured talking points.

And all it boils down to is "It's (D)ifferent when it is a Democrat".

Trump was cooperating. He left it up to his lawyers to negotiate custody of the documents. The FBI came in, looked at the store room, and asked for more locks. The Trump team did as told.
False - What happened here is actually detailed in court documents under penalty of perjury. Google them and read them. This isn't about how you feel or what you think anymore, or what someone online said somewhere. We actually have the details of what actually happened.

Then months later, same FBI came in to break the same locks they asked to install and went on to ransack Melania's closet.
False - they received a subpoena, said they had complied, lied about returning the documents, so the FBI went to a judge and got a legal search warrant. Again, all this is detailed in court document not contested by Trump's attorneys. And covered in extreme detail in the briefings written by Republican appointed judges in the Appeals court cases he lost

Secondly, there's a difference between executive privilege and security clearance. Biden's withdrawal of executive privilege has no bearing on the status of the documents since the President is legally able to declassify documents at will. VPOTUSes do not have that power.
Misleading - Trump never declassified them or has even claimed to anywhere that there is a consequence for lying.

Trump's argument is that he declassified the documents before they left the White House. The DOJ (Special Counsel) is asking for proof.
False. Trump has never claimed that he declassified them in court even when he had the ability to. Even when the Special Masters he requested asked him to. There are legal repercussions for lying in court not so much when you lie to the gullible.

Biden is claiming he was unaware that the classified documents were in his possession. The question is not if he can see classified documents. Having a security clearance to see a classified document does not mean you can stick that classified document in a box and move it willy nilly. Unless of course you're the POTUS. But not for a VPOTUS. Partially true but still Misleading - 1.) The President can't move them willy nilly as well. 2.) As to the legality, read the actual law, intent is what matters.

There are lots of privileges extended to POTUSes that do not apply to VPOTUSes. For instance, while POTUSes get Secret Service protection for life; VPOTUSes only get Secret Service protection during office and six months after leaving office.

So the idea that Biden had the chutzpah to break long-standing traditions and courtesy to not just withdraw an ex POTUS's executive privilege but raid his residence to retrieve classified documents he argues were declassified, just points to his rascality.
Misleading - Actually reading the facts may help in your understanding of this. Because Trump stupidly filed a civil motion during a criminal proceeding, a lot of these facts are public knowledge. You would do well to read them.

But none of this matters. Nothing will come of this. As nothing has come out of the Hunter Biden laptop and Biden associate Bobulinski alleging that Biden himself is the Big Guy referenced in the Hunter corruption correspondences. That is a slam dunk reason to appoint a special counsel and Garland should have done that since Q1 2021. But who cares about due process when MAGA is "an enemy to democracy".

At least, you guys should just admit that the ends justify the means. Let everyone start stockpiling for civil war redux.

Not sure you've head any Dems talk about this. Democrats do as Dems. always do. They have said let's investigate it and see what comes out. Some have even said Garland should appoint a special prosecutor, which I think isn't warranted right now.

But in the US, just because 2 things seem similar doesn't meant legally they are.
Take these two similar situations where two people hit someone.
Person A hits someone with his car who suddenly ran into the street.
Person B hits a man who he saw talking to his wife with his car.
Should they both be treated equal? Of course not. The difference is intent.

Right now (though it may change), Biden had no intent to keep the documents and is fully cooperating. Trump on the other hand tried to hide the documents even after multiple attempts to retrieve them and even after a subpoena.

Another thing to point out. Biden had security clearance to see those documents from the time he left office as VP (Obama never withdrew it). Trump no longer had security clearance after he left office (Biden withdrew his).

QAnon influencer who accused Democrats of pedophilia was himself convicted of abusing 8-year-old boy in 1999.

A filmmaker confronted QAnon influencer David Todeschini about a past child abuse conviction in clips from a new HBO Max documentary. In the clips posted on Twitter, journalist Andrew Callaghan shows pictures of public figures including Oprah Winfrey and President Joe Biden to Todeschini who baselessly claims they are "pedophiles."

Soon after, Callaghan tells Todeschini that he "needs to talk" to him about something. "On May 19, 1999, you were convicted of sexual abuse in the first degree and sodomy in the second degree of an eight-year-old boy in New Jersey," Callaghan says. He continued: "So, according to this paper, you are a registered sex offender and a convicted pedophile."

Todeschini then claims the conviction was "false."

"I know, I've seen the paper. I pled because I knew – I did what Michael Flynn did. I knew I couldn't win," Todeschini responds, referring to former Donald Trump advisor Flynn's 2017 guilty plea in the Mueller probe.

"Do you feel like maybe you're projecting by …" said Callaghan, before Todeschini jumps back in to say: "No, I'm not projecting."

I am baffled to see how IjeBos admitted that democrats are the party of slavery, they enslave blacks but they didn't stop there... They now went and stole the Republican car which was not part of the crime and point the fingers at the republicans as racists who enslaved blacks.
The Republicans had no choice but to go back with the car that was left for them. While this is a stupid analogy, it shows that IjeBos knows quite well that the dems are the party of slavery and no matter how they switch cars, he still know they are the ones who committed the crime.

The innocent republicans magically closed their mouth and accept that they killed the guy with the dems car and the dems are innocent republicans.
I wrote that analogy to help you see that Political parties are just vehicles for ideas and ideology. And the name of the party may be constant but based on the people in the car the ideology can change.

Honestly, you're argument is a mess. I'm not even sure what you are trying to say. But political party platforms aren't constant. In fact the party platform is introduced at the Presidential nomination convention and then ratified by the delegates at that convention every 4 years. So a party platform and thus a political party's ideology can change often, based on the groups who join the party and are allowed to vote at the convention. So, if a party is composed of largely white nationals and has white nationals at its convention and ratifies a platform around what white nationals want i.e "state's rights" - code for "We don't need the federal government telling us what to do with our Nigg*rs", why would any black person join that party? The Republican party of today isn't the republican party of 8 years ago and isn't the Republican party of 40 years ago. And so the people who aggregate to it aren't the same either. I'm not sure what is hard about that concept for you to understand.

That there was political alignment isn't controversial or even something that's debated. It's fact like 1+1=2. The only people challenging it are certain Republicans trying to obfuscate the racism of its party by trying to link it to a party of a different time. It's insulting for them to do and foolish for anyone to repeat.

If my niece had as little understanding of an issue as you do, I tell her to research it and write a paper on it for me. She's only 11.
I'm not here to be your personal tutor on US history/Government. If you want to discuss these things get a rudimentary understanding first. Google these topics: Political Party Realignment, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Barry Goldwater. They are all interconnected. I won't respond to any more comments from you on this until I see you have a basic grasp of it.

Imagine calling the republican party racist, meanwhile you support a party(Democratic party) whose history was built on racism, blood and sweat of black slaves. They enslaved black people physically in the past and are still doing the same today via mental manipulation and slavery. To the Democrats, black people are just their vote plantation where they plant and haevest vote without question
I'll try this like you are my nephew. Two groups of people are at a car rental agency. Group 1 rents car A(Dem Car) and Group 2 rents car B(Republican Car). They drive away. The Dem car hits someone and drives away without stopping. The Republican car pulls up and and helps the person to the hospital where that person dies. They get to their destination and the groups decide to switch cars for the return trip. Group1 gets into the Republicans Car (CarB). Group 2 in the Dem Car(Car A). They get back to the Rental agency where the police are waiting. Who should get the blame and be arrested for hitting and killing the person. Do we assign blame to the vehicle they are driving or the views and ideology(people) driving those vehicles? Now think of political parties as vehicles and the people who populate them as views and ideology. The KKK, segregationists, racists and people who hate black people decided to jump in the Republican vehicle. And so minorities jumped out and into the Dem vehicle.

This forum is getting tedious and these discussions trifling. I shouldn't have to be explaining these concepts let alone explaining them like I'm talking to a child. If you are want to discuss something, inform yourself first. There are a number of good books on US History, African American History and the political parties. Honestly, when did things change where people liked sounding uninformed?

I took a Government AP(University Level class) class when I was 15. This stuff was part of the discussion and exam. So, it just sounds so rudimentary and basic it's frustrating I'm even discussing it.

If anyone is really interested in learning how the parties realigned. Google the Southern Strategy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_strategy

Some of those posts are beyond nonsense and insulting to the legacy of African Americans who fought and died for the freedoms and liberties Black people enjoy today. Make your arguments consistent with History, not using the rewrites of the very racists who don't consider you human nor worthy of those freedoms. Do better.

You don't even have to believe my words. Here are the words of the Republican National Committee chairman Ken Mehlman to the NAACP in 2005 apologizing in the most minimal way possible:
"By the '70s and into the '80s and '90s, the Democratic Party solidified its gains in the African American community, and we Republicans did not effectively reach out," Mehlman says in his prepared text. "Some Republicans gave up on winning the African American vote, looking the other way or trying to benefit politically from racial polarization. I am here today as the Republican chairman to tell you we were wrong."

Democrats are very smart. After cornering black votes, they made sure to build a wall to prevent them from. ever crossing sides via manipulation and all sorts.

Any black man or woman who runs as a republican or support the party automatically becomes a pariah to the community, and called all sort of names, no thanks to years of brainwashing from the democratic party. The last Presidential election where Biden made a statement to black americans saying "If you don't vote for me(democratic party), you ain't black"

The republican party don't have a lot of black people /politicians not because they are not welcomed or the republican party ignore them but due to the fear of the black community. However, things are changing gradually, the Democrat manipulation of the black community is wearing off, and they are loosing the graps on the community gradually as a record number of black people are now voting republican and a lot of black politicians are now joining and contesting for various posts under the party. Something that wasn't popular 10 years ago.

The crazy thing is that it's happening during the Trump era, where democrats and MSM all see as a racist. What an irony.

Here is the definition of Misinformation from google
1. false or inaccurate information, especially that which is deliberately intended to deceive.

And isn't that what you precisely did yesterday? You repeatedly said getting a booster makes one catch covid easily. Then posted videos and articles with catchy headlines that you said made your point. But when fully read/listened to they actually disproved your point. LMAO!
No offence, how old are you please? Because from where I sit, you don't particularly sound like someone who has seen a decent measure of the Nigerian reality.

There are relatives who are bluntly uninterested in turning a hundred thousand into a million naira. They don't have the patience to turn over investments for small but steady profits. They are basically comfortable with the fact that you have a moderate inflow of income and can accommodate their needs and demands whenever they walk up to you. So whatever efforts you put into setting them up amounts to no good. I have two cousins I have particularly made a handful of efforts to help achieve financial stability. Today they want a hundred grand to put in a business idea they have, it's down the drain tomorrow. Next they want a keke for hire purchase purposes, funds are committed into buying it, 2 months later, keke is sold and they're back to calling your line.

Look, we were all created with opportunities, however unequal they may be. The fact you're in a place to lend a helping hand doesn't mean you should die in the process. Sometimes it's okay to shut in, close fences and tend to your own life. Everybody go dey alright finally.
Well said.
Struggled with this as well. Had to talk to some US friends about it who are in similar situations. One good friend told me he and his wife donate 10% of their income as a tithe. They said that the tithe didn't necessarily have to go to their church and they use part of that to sew into friends/family who need support. That made sense to me. So I do similar now and try not to go over it no matter the ask.. (the budget ended halfway this year and I did make an amendment a couple of weeks back for a close cousin who needed rent money).

Look at the last page and explain to me what anything Sly and basilico have written has anything to do with this topic or isn't vile and repugnant. I just won't be bullied by preadolescent children. But yeah, the thread got bad only when "Americana" got to this thread. Save me your hypocrisy. And please, wipe the jealousy dripping from your lips.

Faggottt, you neva even see anything.

No be SCAMerica?

Meanwhile you wallow in abject poverty all the days of your miserable life.
Homosexual reference, SCAMerica Reference, Poverty reference. Check, Check, Check.
Seems those things are some kind of fixation that your mind continuously focuses on that you can't prevent/control yourself from repeating repeatedly.
Can't even laugh about it, it's kind of sad at this point.
I really do hope you get some type of care/help.

This is Abby Zwerner, 25-years-old from Williamsburg, Virginia, the first grade teacher shot by a 6-year-old student in her classroom. She remains in critical condition. Parent Sebastian Gonzalez-Hernandez says Zwerner “screamed at her kids to run away” after the student shot her.
Fn'ing gun culture in the US and our coward politicians. Breaks my heart.

I'm sorry man. Molestation is a serious thing. I've heard stories about what happens in Naija boarding schools and what people's inlaws do to them in Nigeria. I should have recognized the signs in you earlier, the intense hatred of homosexuals should have been a giveaway. I can't imagine the type of trauma you're living with. Let's call a truce.

Gaybriel, your ruptured rectum go still collect
Holy shit. Really ask yourself, who even thinks that kind of thing let alone turns around and writes it? I have a friend who has a NGO in Nigeria who helps people who have been molested. Send me a PM and I can connect you.

Here you go again, repeating yourself. Didn't I say you mentioned these 3 things in all your posts.

Homosexuality - Check
America Collapse - Check
Poverty- Check

It's like a list of all the things that hurt you. Serious question, were you touched as a child?

Do you copy and paste this stuff. It's repetitive. It's the same format.. something about homosexuals and something about SCAMErica and something about poverty. Go see a therapist and show them this shit you write OVER and OVER and OCER. Your not well.
