Giving that the US spends more on it's military than the next 9 countries combined, not much would have changed. The US left because it's hard to fight a counter insurgency in deeply congested urban cities. Imagine the US or anyone trying to take over/control Lagos with Tanks and soldiers that have to navigate the roads there.

So, you're arguing that Russia with now a depleted Military, who couldn't beat Ukraine initially without a lot of US weapons, who couldn't beat Ukraine since gifted with 2nd tier US weapons, no NAVY and small airforce, could beat US's TIER 1 AIRFOCE, NAVY and ARMY. Reality is calling.

Listen, The US spends ~800 Billion dollars a year on it's Military. Russia's whole Economy is about ~1.5 Trillion. Let that sink in, the US spends roughly half of the Russian economy on WEAPONS and TROOPS.

The only threat Russia has is it's Nuclear Weapons. And honestly, the second they used one on the US(it will devastate parts of the US), but Russia will be wiped off the map.

Listen, I live in the US. 2 years ago, we were in the MIDST of a Pandemic with 1,000+ dying daily. I was working from home, hadn't seen my friends in a year and barely saw my family. The stock market had crashed, the economy was a wreck, there were food bank (free food) lines stretching miles and the government was sending direct payments to people so people could survive. Gas prices were low because there was a Global demand shortage because of the Pandemic but noone could take advantage of it because of COVID. It was so low TRUMP made a deal with the Saudis and Russians to cut supply so, prices could go up(hence the increase in Gas Prices). Everything was super expensive and if you could find it, rationed(items like Toilet paper). We had to queue outside the store to buy groceries, and basically bought whatever they had in Stock. I almost had a fight with a guy when he tried to take a rationed item out of my cart when I turned my back after I got the last one on the shelf. And the guy who was President at the time suggested we drink bleach and maybe put UV lights inside our body to kill Covid.
Yes, we are better off. Supply change issues and our FED keeping interests low during Trump's presidency pre-Covid (to juice the economy even though it was doing ok after Obama) has led to some inflation issues. But our inflation is probably lower than the most developed countries. FYI. I exchanged money at 710 naira last week(maybe focus on your Nigerian HYPER INFLATION).

1.) Biden is not under investigation. His son is. His son does not work for the Admiration and has never been elected by anyone. I find it quite weird how people are dedicated to trashing someone based on the alleged deeds of their son.

2.) You seemed to have missed the point entirely. In most situations they would allow the US President to form a delegation. And the US President would invite the past presidents as part of the Delegation. In this case they didn't. And my belief is they didn't to not put Biden in a bind of having to find a way not to invite Trump and then for it to be made a big deal. I'm not sure where you live, but here in the US, it was THE political talk prior to the Funeral (Whether Biden was going to invite Trump to the Funeral).

1.) The memorial you speak of was in the US and "co-hosted" by the British Embassy. It was SO important, the CURRENT President didn't show up nor ANY of the former Presidents.
2.) They could have caused a diplomatic issue with the US for inviting him or even saying it was up to Biden to invite him. Trump is under investigation by the Justice Department, he started an insurrection, is currently playing footsie with Qanon (a dangerous conspiracy theory cult) and is currently trying to ferment a US civil war. Biden would not have travelled with him and would have had to find a way to say he wasn't going to invite him even though all the former Presidents were going.

No, he's not. They had a precise seating arrangements for the Church with particular meaning. The British Royal Families. Then Commonwealth Royal Families. Russia's military dwarfs Ukraine. They aren't even comparable. Russia should have taken Kiev last week. Russia has lost about 7000(conservative estimate) troops so far and at least 1000 tanks and planes so far. 7000 is greater than all the troops the US lost in 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan and Russia has lost that in 3 weeks. And we aren't even talking about the soldiers captured or the ones that fled. They are in such bad shape they have begged China for weapons and FOOD. And are asking foreign fighters to volunteer. They have also lost 4 GENERALS in 2 weeks. The losses are INCREDIBLE and UNSUSTAINABLE for a modern military fighting Ukraine. Yes, Ukraine is being devastated and the loss of life for them will be immeasurable. But in terms of military objectives, they are holding off Russia and Russia is losing. If Russia does take Kiev in the end it will be a wholly pyrrhic victory. And this is the same Russia that can't beat Ukraine and can't even feed it's soldiers or fuel their tanks that is threating NATO? lol

I opted to post this in the Health section because I realised, for the first time in all my years in Lagos (and that is my entire life) that many are mad in Lagos but few are are confined in asylums. We don't take mental health seriously enough in Nigeria.

I had left office around 5.30 pm and had not gone far when a junior colleague called me that he had left his entire earthly possessions back in the office, vis his house keys, wallet and phone and the admin office was closed. His excuse was he did not know I would be leaving early. After blasting him for his lackadaisical attitude, I told him where to meet me to get my keys. I was already in transit and the traffic was rapidly moving and If he hurried he would meet me at the traffic light before it turned green.

He drove halfway and had to run the remaining half because of the traffic. He was just about 45 seconds away from me and I could see his approaching form, but the lights had changed to green and we were about moving, so I quickly tossed the bunch of keys on a horizontal signboard on the road median. The dude got to me just as we were about to cross and I yelled at him to go back and check the board. He nodded and ran back.

To my chagrin and ongoing bafflement, he called me back that there were no keys on the board. I told him to check properly, on the sides and even under the board. He rang off, and then called back some minutes later, insisting that he couldn't find any keys. I was forced to alight half way and go back to the junction where all these drama was unfolding. I thought my eyes were paining me when I checked and discovered that the bunch of keys had grown legs and run off in the 45 seconds/ 1 minute it took for my colleague to reach the point where I had tossed the keys.

That is how me and this boy started rigmaroling the road median like construction workers, searching through dirt and grass for my large, shiny bunch of keys that had mysteriously disappeared in plain sight. After about 30 minutes of fruitlessly searching even in portions of the median that I knew I had passed before that fateful toss, we were forced to give up after admitting to ourselves that a Lagosian had seen me tossing the keys and immediately pounced on them like the lunatic he was.

I think you have a misunderstanding of what a Tax Return/Refund is. Everyone (with some exceptions) has to file a tax return to the US federal government. The tax return documents how much you made and how much in taxes you paid on it. You only get a refund if you overpaid your taxes (which happens for a myriad of reasons), in fact a lot of people owe money to the government after they file their tax return.

Tax Day, April 15th(April 18th this year), when the tax returns are due isn't a day people look forward to gleefully in the US.
