Laurene:Stop it. You are talking about someone not voting? Are you pretending to live in the US again? I see you're still pretending to be a woman. Play your games elsewhere. |
DaddyCoool:Quote where I said this. His followers tried to cheat. But, they got caught. There is some fraud in the system. A large percentage of it is caught. But it's so small it never affects the election. Because as I said the cost of doing it (getting caught), far outweighs the benefits. And every system has some loss. The question is, is the loss acceptable/ If not you use another system or redesign it. The US voting system is robust and has redundancies and fraud detection, and the fraud is a tiny fraction. It's not 100% perfect buy maybe 98-99%. Probably 100% better than Nigeria's from what I saw in the last election. Nigeria's election didn't even look functional. I was embarrassed watching clips of it on Twitter during the election. Ask yourself what reference or perspective do you have to even judge the US election? If Nigeria is the only election you understand, it's no surprise you can believe the US election can be rigged like that. DaddyCoool:You should review what a fact is then. And op-ed is just that an Opinion. Opinions aren't facts. Again, just because it is written somewhere doesn't make it objective fact. You're discussing this with the wrong person if that's what you believe. And if you believe that it's understandable why you believe some of the misinformation you do and post. DaddyCoool:Who told you this? Here you go again with your made up facts. This is nonsense. And the fact that you believe this says a lot. Look, I travel often. The West collectively hates Trump. The Uk and the rest of the West are more liberal, more traveled and more diverse in their views than the US. They hate TRUMP, he's an example of everything they dislike about the US. Just look at the recent elections in France and the UK. It's clear you live in an American Right Wing news ecosystem. To believe that an idiot like Trump would be respected in places like the UK and other Western countries belies a lack of understanding of Western culture. You should visit some of these places before speaking on them. DaddyCoool:Of course I don't understand something that is made up. Your understanding of it seems to shift from post to post. But that's the nature of conspiracy theories innit.. nebulous ideas with no real form that have to shift and morph to make them make sense. Again, Trump is liked largely by the uneducated. Look at his supporters in the US. The one consistent trait, the less educated you are, the more likely you are to support Trump. Just WILD. Just look at all the election polling on it. And you're in Naij, pushing the guy idiots support. Lol.
|
DaddyCoool:Trump raises a ton of money. Most is spent on legal fees and grifting (funneling money back into his businesses). Biden does raise a ton of money and a lot from corporations and wealthy donors. But he also raises a ton from the average person. Look, you are beholden to who gives you money. And even Biden is beholden to his big donors. Hence some of his policies. THe difference, is that Trump is just a crook and does everything he can to break the system. Trump pressed oil executives to give $1 billion for his campaign, people in industry say “This is a scandal” and “an indictment of the system” — but probably legal, one legal watchdog told POLITICO. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/05/09/trump-asks-oil-executives-campaign-finance-00157131 You haven't posted facts. You google something and find an article that has some wording you agree with and post that as if I'm incapable of reading the full article that doesn't support your point. Or I'm incapable of understanding the biases the writer brings to the article. Or I'm incapable of seeing the crappy source of the article. Because you found an article online doesn't make it fact. So, every company and every country would have a deep state, by your definition. When Tinubu took office did he fire every single employee of every Federal agency and replace them with his hand picked staff? No, he most likely replaced the heads of those agencies. And it is up to the heads of those agencies to get the agencies pointed to the President's priorities. This is the point I am making. You heard this term Deep State and ran with it. But didn't put any thought to it. They are just employees who stay on after a change. Every company has them. Evey administration has them. But only Trump is complaining relentlessly and has you complaining relentlessly. Because that is what White Males in the US have become. The people with all the power who see themselves as victims. And Black Nigerians are following them by speaking their language. Just odd. You should figure out why you support and spend better spent time and energy supporting a man like Trump. Is it his policies you think are useful? Or are you supporting him because you are a Christian and think that Republicans are Christians? If you dislike what is going on in Nigeria, from the graft to the unaccountable policies and politicians. That is what Trump is offering the US. I'm always at a loss when Nigerians who are struggling under corrupt leaders, see Trump and say, "we like what we see there". Do Nigerians just have a hard time recognizing fraudsters or does the allure of wealth just blind them? |
DaddyCoool:I'm sure you understand that the money from Holywood is a drop in the bucket of the money that is spent in the election. You should google what a 501c4 "dark money" organization is. The type of group the Supreme Court made legal with their citizens United Ruling. You think mentioning Hollywood was some attempted dig. FYI, we have had 2 presidents that actually worked in Hollywood. Reagan and Trump. Both Republicans. Again, you get fooled by what Republicans say instead of what they do. DaddyCoool:You sound confused here. So the shadowy group tried to stop Trump in 16 but failed, but succeeded in '20? Yet, you don't think the election was stolen? huh? Anyhow, you are just scratching the surface on this stuff. There are some great sources of info out there. You should lay off the Fox News type. They are made for the Trump Base.. uneducated and easily manipulated. Good Luck. Pax. |
DaddyCoool:You've done a little more research, I'll give you that. But the problem is you're coming at this from the perspective the election was stolen, and when one conspiracy falls you erect another. At a point you have to acknowledge the problem is with your belief the election was stolen. As to the statement, continuing to post a weak article, won't change the fact it's a weak article that doesn't help your argument. There are insider clubs. The ex presidents hang together. Ex Senate and House members can return to the Senate and House to use the gym etc. But the people who really run the US are not them but the monied interests, the ones who finance them. And to figure out which politicians these monied interest want to win, just look at the policies. Policies like Trump's decreased taxes for corporations. Or stacking the Supreme Court with right wing members so they can pass rulings like Citizens United, which basically said Corporations are people. Or their last ruling overturning the Chevron decision, basically making it easier for Corporations to pollute and rip off consumers, making the cost of doing business easier and raising their profits. You are looking at it from the short game, which is the goal of people like Trump. The long game is entrenching power for people with money and corporations to do what they want. And they do this by electing politicians so they can pass laws like the Republican Congress has passed and Rulings like the Republican Supreme Court are passing. That's the reason the Supreme Court basically made a President a king, so Trump can continue to run, so the Supreme Court's benefactors can be happy. As to the counties, you are right. Some counties do administer their own elections based on State laws. But that is it. They still have to follow state law. And if the Republican Governor doesn't feel as if the county has obeyed those laws, they can ask for investigations and even a recount. Which many have done. And suprise suprise, they keep finding Republicans cheating (Trump's chief of staff), but as to this conspiracy that touches all Democratic counties countrywide, not a scintilla of evidence. lol Dems must be amazing at cheating. So to wrap, you believe that some secret organization that wants Dems to win, allowed Trump to win 2020 even though Hilary was up in polls, but then helped Biden out in 2024 even though Biden was up in polls. And this organization is run through Democratic Counties in Republican States throughout the country. And in these Republican States, Republicans have run investigations, had lawsuits, had recounts, yet they have not found ANY evidence of this wide ranging conspiracy to rig the election. In fact, the opposite has occured. These republicans have been made to pay money for defamation and lost their law licenses for lying about the election and filing false cases in court. Likk Fox News and their close to 1 Billion dollar defamation settlement. Sounds nuts, No? |
DaddyCoool:1.) It's an opinion piece in the RIght Wing Wall Street Journal written by an ex Trump official, David Bernhard. 2.) The article is talking about the administrative state. Career administrators in places like the EPA and FDA. Google them. Nigeria has them as well. People like scientists who make quick decisions to protect American consumers when there is a gap in a law. Say a company wants to dump a new found type of material, Material Z, that may be a carcinogen in the local water supply and the Congress hasn't specifically made a law regulating MAterial Z yet. Republicans are trying to argue, that since Congress hasn't specifically made a law banning Material Z, the EPA shouldn't be able to act since the President hasn't specifically appointed each and every one of them. 3.) The administrative state or in your conspiratorial parlance "Deep State" has no influence on US elections. Elections are run by individual states. Period. The goal should be to inform yourself, not run around posting links to things you barely understand like one of the myriad uneducated Trump supporters. Start by reading the US constitution to understand how US elections are run. Then go state by state and understand how the States run their elections. Then go review all the recounts and court cases Trump and Co. had and lost. Then go review all the money in lawsuits and defamation Trump, Fox News and Co. paid out for lying about the election. Then maybe you'll be at a place to even begin to argue this with me. The reason why so much of this misinformation persists is that people like you haven't done the above, but you repeat misinformation and propaganda you hear from people with an agenda, like Trump rationalizing why he lost the election every poll said he would lose. I'm trying to help you not sound like a nut. You want to persist. So be it. I've reached the end of my rope.
|
DaddyCoool:You seemed to have missed the word "conspiracy" in the article you attached. There is no deep state. It's a myth Trump created to explain to his uneducated and conspiratorial minded base why he didn't accomplish the things he promised to. FYI, I hope you also are aware that Trump supporters are generally more uneducated and poorer than Democrats. In fact, states that voted for Biden are the most educated and wealthiest states. Whereas Red or Republican states fall on the bottom of most metrics. Education, Wealth, Health Care, Life Expectancy etc. etc. In fact Red states are largely welfare states, they get back more from the Federal government than they give. Google the data. It's amazing how Right WIng Media (I assume what you listen to) has convinced people otherwise. I'm not sure why Nigerians would align themselves with such people. Secondly, the US constitution decentralizes Voting. Each state decides how people vote and how electors are chosen. The Constitution does give the US congress the ability to preempt the states in Federal elections, but that has to be enacted through law, passed by Congress signed by the President. So it is pretty hard for a federal "Deep State" group to go into each state, esp. Republican led states and cheat. Your conspiracy theory still makes little sense. Trump is arguing in Republican states, where Republicans held power, cheating happened in just his election that allowed the Democrat, Biden to win. And all this happened while he was President. Lol. And you come up with some conspiracy, that a shadowy group somehow manipulated these Republican Trump supporting Governors to make them cheat against Trump and somehow manipulated all the recounts to show that Trump lost? That should sound nuts to you. Let me ask you, where was this shadowy group the first time Trump won? But seriously, if you want some real sources of news so you don't sound like you wear a tinfoil hat to go to sleep, I'll send you some. I get it, you're not in the US. But this stuff works on Trump supporters in the US because they are largely uneducated/undereducated and so fall for it. Why put yourself in the same bucket of the uneducated? |
DaddyCoool:So, this is the problem I find with Nigerians commenting on the US. Most have never been and most don't have the slightest idea of US culture. -Police/FBI/Justice people are mostly conservative. The culture is very conservative, esp. the FBI. There has never been a Democratic Director of the FBI. Even Democrats appoint Republicans to head the FBI. Check the history. It is utter nonsense that somehow liberals have infiltrated the FBI or any law enforcement. -Evangelicals. I actually find US Republican Evangelicals (somewhat like some Nigerian Evangelical leaders) to be phony. I'm Christian and most Christians I know and respect are Democrats. The one's not cheating on their wife's and who give 10% of their income to charity, I mean. Case in point, how is any Evangelical supporting a 3 times divorced, confessed rapist will multiple felony indictments? -As I said, it is illegal for an non citizen to vote. Jail time illegal. And there are tons of checks to make sure noone is voting illegally. I told you about the barcode tracked ballot I use to vote by mail in my state. Hard for someone illegal to cast a vote that way, they wouldn't be on the registered list and their ballot would be tracked. And would you risk voting illegally in person? In my upper middle class white neighborhood, there are 2 armed police officers in my polling station and a couple outside the polling station. And you have to check in with at least 2 people before voting. That is similar to mostly all polling stations. In fact, during the last election, the Bulk of attempted illegal voting (voting multiple times), were Trump MAGA Republicans. Do a google search. I'm not sure where you getting most of this misinformation, but it's not accurate or consistent with what is going on in the US. |
DaddyCoool:This is a lot of nonsense. If you've voted in the US elections, you'd know how secure it is. The electronic voting machines all print paper receipts, so a hand recount is possible if there is an issue. The mail in ballots have barcodes so you can track where the ballot is. It helps with fraud. Cheating is so hard and the cost if you get caught makes it not worth it. I get it, if your understanding is Nigeria elections, you wouldn't be able to fathom they night and day difference between the US and Nigeria. we don't use tupperware containers to store ballots for 1. People arguing that the Dems (who weren't in power Federally), cheated in states controlled by Republicans in an election where a Republican , with control of the FBI and Justice department was president aren't thinking well. It makes absolutely no sense. Yes, same day voting and counting would be the best, but it's the Republicans that have made that impossible. They won't pass a law making voting day a holiday. In some states they make it illegal to count early votes before the same day voting is counted, making counting votes harder. In some states they have limited the polling stations so in more populous (Dem areas) there are at times 6 hour lines to vote. The Republican goal has been to frustrate people trying to vote, so less people vote, because if more people vote, Republicans lose. But what I find the oddest about this, is that the man who has bet on driverless cars and new spacecraft thinks new voting technology is bad. That should tell you everything you need to know about his thoughts on this |
budaatum:Wrong Again. Evangelicals have been quite successful in US politics. The US is not the UK. Understanding that you don't know how much you don't know about the US should be the start for you. |

Real talk, there was a time I thought you were thoughtful, but you burst that bubble after the 5th time of me telling you, you were quoting from the wrong section and you KEPT quoting from the wrong section. lol. So, determined in your Wrongness. You're like Bemeruca, just more read. But still a low IQ. |
budaatum:I am a winner. And I win in every fact based discussion I have with you. Period. Try reading the rules. Your argument is not that I'm wrong and you're not breaking the rules. Your argument is that you don't care. And like the petulant child you are, you're response is "I can do what I want". Awhile ago you were here arguing following the rules.. blah blah blah How arguments change when you don't have convictions, right? |
budaatum:Even this whole thing of pretending to be a women. But of course I'm sure you think you can understand what woman go through when they have to be told what to do with their body. Your whole ego driven ethos is insulting. You are the weirdest person in this thread. |
budaatum:You are such a child. I told you to make a new thread about the UK and you're here crying. Fuking loser.. lol. |
budaatum:And. What is the difference? I acknowledged the rules and made a point that I had to push back because one person was abusing others and the mods weren't doing anything about it. You sit here and lie as if the rules don't exist. Because you have a hard time admitting when you are wrong. Irrelevant as the person who talks in the third person, talking about sharia law and the UK elections in the American Politics thread? Get a grip. |
bemeruca:Looking for attention? The guy who lies about living in the US is saying someone else is looking for attention. The non American who spends his life in the American thread says someone else is looking for attention. Take account of your life. |
budaatum:This is why I think you don't really have any core tenents. You are usually the one arguing about following the rules of the forum. Now when it doesn't suit you... You don't get told what to do? Welcome to living in a rules based society. You are a monumental phony.. only driven by ur ego. What sets you apart from Trump and say the MAGA's? Rules, what Rules? |
budaatum:Of course, quite mature of you. Quoting the actual rules have you speechless huh? The fact is that you just like hearing yourself talk. Fux that you are derailing the thread as long as you are talking and have an audience to talk to when you get tired of talking to yourself, innit? |
bemeruca:The non American who has never stepped foot in America, spends his life in the American Politics thread talking about UK, religion and homsexuality. You just sound like an insecure lonely jobless person who feels being around Non Nigerians makes you better than your jobless life. Make it make sense. |
bemeruca:You remind me of those people who I meet in Naij, always want to be around the Americans, because in their insecure mind it makes them feel better than the rest of Nigerians. Rather you're like those Naija women I meet who want to meet Americans for their citizenship. You are not American, in the American politics thread, talking about the UK. Tell me, why are you here? |
budaatum:In fact is the first rule of this forum or the law. 1. Please post all threads in the right section, and don't derail threads by posting off topic. So, why don't you show respect to every one who wants to talk about US politics. If you want to discuss the UK with Americans, why don't you start a thread saying such. Why else are you posting all that irrelevant crap here? |
budaatum:It doesn't change it has little to do with US politics. Bemeruca and Basilico want a race and religion war. They will especially drag religion into every topic. There is a whole religion section for that convo. |
budaatum:Hey, why don't you start a New thread on what's happening in the UK vis a vis the Elections and shift leftward. I'm sure you have a closer perspective to it all given that you live there and so your thoughts on it would offer good perspective. Though I've spend some time there, there is so much I don't know that I don't know to even start to talk intelligently on it. And outside of the shift leftward and what that mary portend for the US election, though interesting, it doesn't really relate to US politics. |
bemeruca:You say you embrace this imaginary God. Are you decent? No? You're a lying, hacking, degenerate who has a broken family. Let's take it farther, Large swaths of Nigeria embrace the "imaginary God", tell me is Nigeria largely a decent flourishing place? Everything about you is contradictory. From trashing the West to trying to seek asylum in it, to being a black man yet trying to embrace the White Christian Nationalist view of the World. It's the kind of contradictions that happen when your formal education consists of Youtube videos. |
IMAliyu2:That's what the Conservative movement has boiled down to. Incoherent, seemingly contradictory buzzwords. The scary part is that it works on their supporters. |
WhizdomXX:Yeah, I'm sure you can explain to the white guy in Europe/US who sees your black skin, calls you a Nigger and tries to erase you from the world, that you don't identify as Black. I'm sure he'll be accepting of that explanation. What's wild is that you don't understand you are the origination of their hate, the origination of their Racism. It's Africans and your African genes they feel are inferior. As I said, You are one stupid person who sounds like he's never left the comfort of being in a country where people who look like you are the majority, by far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLNDqxrUUwQ |
ono:Well.. on that list, raum and basilico sure do. It's odd that you think 'she' sounds like a nut. 'She' sounds like you and most Trump supporters in this thread do. Nutty Just read the last few pages and look at the links you guys post. For some reason this thread attracts a lot of mentally ill people, who seem to want to dedicate their lives in support of white men, who hate black people, in a country a continent away they've never been to and rehash conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory. What is the difference between 'her' post and post Basilico writes? |
Bossly:Obsessed w/ me Obsessed with homosexuality Obsessed with 1stGen I see your putting all these usernames to work Slyfoxx. |
PDPGuy:Good catch. Forgot about that. I feel like there was a similar scenario before, maybe Bush and Cheney. Should be some interesting palace intrigue. |
PDPGuy:If there was a change, Harris would be the nominee and everybody would begrudgingly fall in line. Harris could choose Newsom as her VP. |
WhizdomXX:In the comments of the video there are white people calling out this poster for harassing this black soldier. Yet the Black person who has never left Nigeria, who probably has never met a white person, is defending the video. As I said, most black Trump supporters hate their black skin. But what the fux is going on in Nigeria that's it's creating so many self hating black people? |
