Hello mums! How are we all doing Just wanted to contribute my 2cents. For mums with picky eaters, I want to advice that persistence is the key. You see my son never gave me much issues when it comes to eating. In fact weaning him was a walk in the park. Unlike my princess hmmm... she showed me pepper. At 4months weighed 6kg. At 8months 6. 5kg, ha! I felt like I have failed her and I wasn't doing enough. I took her for scan, ran tests etc she was healthy but wasn't just eating well, just b.Milk and her cereal in bits. Her ped. Suggested that I fed her every 2 hours (nights inclusive, I had to set alarm)even it if Just 3 spoons she's taking, give her one egg everyday, made sure her mouth was always busy. She also advised that I introduced formula. It wasn't easy at all, i used syringe to feed her the formula i.e. the 20mls one, cos she hated it. Bits by bit she started gaining weight. Now at 1yr and 2months her feeding has improved. Loves pap, peak milk etc(she has met all her milestones). She's almost 9kg. we are not dere yet but we are getting there Soo mummies be patient and feed in bits but consistently . Kisses. Pls is chicken Franks safe cos she loves it. |

Giddyperson: Lost close to 10kg in the first trimester too but I've added them back cuz now I'm always hungry and eat everything I see. Im so scared that horrible ms feeling would come back in third trimester, so im enjoying the pregnancy as much as I can for now. I think it all depends on how your appetite is at this stage. As long as you are healthy tho, don't see the need packing up weight that you'll be trying to lose in a few months. Thank you. The doc advised I take more carbs. Tho I'm[s] secretly happy dat I lost a few as long as baby is fine |

helovesme: Personally, I won't confront the teacher directly with such an accusation as there's every possibility she hasn't been eating your child's food. I would hate to accuse anyone falsely of such an embarrassing allegation.
I would rather request to have a chat with her and tell her that Eva keeps complaining that she doesn't eat her food and then wait for the teacher's response.
It's possible that Eva wasn't keen on lunch and the teacher threw the food away (this should be the standard practice as to avoid food poisoning, all left over meals should be thrown away especially if it hasn't been kept in a fridge).
It's also possible that Eva's eating pattern/preference has changed. Maybe she prefers some other meals to others. Maybe the teacher needs to understand how to coax her to eat like you do when she's at home You can only know the next line of action to take (maybe change your dayghter's meals, etc) after discussing with the teacher.
Finally, kids will always be kids. What do they really know at that age? The teacher might be eating her own food and Eva just assumes that it's her own food that her teacher is eating. Okkk. Thanks plenty,I tink the" throwing away"makes sense. I'll send her this page. |

MumZ: U sure she is eating it or throwing it away? Cos some teachers don't want d children taking food back home so dey pour it away. Ny which way, diplomacy is needed 2 tackle d issue. My 2yrs old gal likes d word yes, so she says it 4 all questions or repeats d last word of d sentence so r ans may not b reliable. She's almost 3. The dialogue her mum had with her. Mum: Eva did you eat your food Eva; no Mum:who ate it?? Eva:Eva's aunty. |

babythug: There's no way to resolve this that won't be awkward.
If it's me I'd approach the teacher directly and say straight up that I don't want her eating my child's food will also ask her not to victimize my child because of the incident. It'll be a polite but firm discussion. Should she try to be dramatic or funny then we escalate to school authorities!
Shikena She has been suspecting the teacher for sometime now, cos her daughter always come back with an empty flask a Now she's just recovering with loss of appetite and her flask is till empty. Plus her daughter confirmed It. Two year olds don't lie na |

Onegai: Ah. No, no, no, no. First mistake was bringing in the junk food: Pringles (salty), plantain chips (more salt and some really questionable hygiene) and Fanta (sugary). It's ruining her tastebuds. Please stop that immediately. If she likes plantain, fry dodo with egg and spring onions. Give her watermelon rather than Fanta, fry sweet and Irish potatoes and serve with fish and small stew. Start slowly and she will fight you o, but something will happen. Keep with the breastmilkfor now and slowly be giving her adult milk (whole cream though). The plantain is dodo, while she struggles with her brother's "treats". she loves oranges I have introduced potatoes and fish. She eats in bits like she's watching her weight. Indeed children differ cos her bro ate mostly pureed food. Thanks 4 ur prompt response |

Hi everyone I My 12months old daughter has refused to eat. In fact since 6 months, her weight gain has not been impressive. I was feeding her mostly Gerber oats, cowandgate rice (blue pack) mixed with soybean, because she hated formula. At 9 months, for 3 days straight she rejected her food. Took her to the hospital, when I saw the scale, I was shocked! Her weight was 6. 2kg.(At 4months she weighed 6ķg @ birth 3. 7) Hmmm ran some test and every thing was fine her pcs etc. Did scan tooo. Perfect. I was told to start giving formula and pap (maize guinea corn nd millet) even if it's in small quality.
I was feeding her every 2hrs, also at night. It wasn't easy.
Now at almost 12months she's weighing 8. 5kg, since yesterday she has refused to eat her pap or any other food. All she want is tiny plantain, Pringles B.Milk and fanta. Pls I need advice and suggestions. Going to d hospital 2 morrow to check her throat P. S don't know if it hereditary. I was a picky eater as a baby. Pls 4give my typos |
