I do not totally agree with you though, Mousavi knew wining wont be easy, but his aim was to keep Alhamadinajad within 50%, then he could call for a re-run, so a whole 68% victory, is to say the least suspicious

This wasn't elections about social reforms, it was about the economy. We know that the clerics whittle the choice down to these two men and even then they wouldn't let the people choose. READ MY POSTS, I am not arguing that this is anything but about the economy.
Then I disagree with you, you cant say everyone is focused on the economy. Different people have different concern, and it can not be economy alone, afterall, Iran is not the only nation in these times where the unemployement percentage is high.

imadinnerjacket didn't win, if he did why did Mousavi claim victory? Please, Iranians aren't asking for much they won't protest whatever Iran's nuclear policy is and they won't protest against a change in foreign policy. All they want is the government to provide jobs for them instead of international saber rattling.
What you forget is that Alhamadinajad has quite alot of supporters as well.

Iran in the 1960's was a free nation where you could go clubbing wear whatever you want and hold your girlfriend on the street. But there came a revolution, that made it an Islamic state, those who stood for that revolution are still living and are not ready to see it thrown away just like that.

Its only the youths who wants a change, they probably never saw or supported the revolution, and so they support Mousavi, who actually played a major role in the revolution, its just tat he claims he is now a changed man.

I dont really see how I can convince you though, the way you write Alhmahadijad's name it looks like your mind was made up even b4 the election.

No one can say for sure if the election was rigged or not, there is a good possibility that Alhamadinajad won the election, what I have a problem with is the margin. 68% to 30% is quite a lot.

Although one thing is for sure, the train has left the station, Alhmadinajad would not have an easy journey for the next 4 years. No nation has succesfully kept the voice of its youths down.

naliakar:
Mwanamiwa's scanty grasp of the complexity of Ikomi's argument would be laughable if it was not for the  seriousness  accompanying her protestations. Unless she is performing a kind of patriotic  mission against what she sees as an unfair attack on Kenyan women's choice of protest tool, she needs to be reminded that for eons now women the world over have fought against the formulation of their worth as sexual objects who exist at the pleasure and gaze of men. Such formulations have denigrated the intellectual capacity portion of their potential. That well educated women should think hard and arrive at an affirmation of what they have in solidarity  fought against the world over is not worthy of the kind of angst that Mwanamiwa seems to feign.Notice how it quickly fizzled out before it even started. What indicators were noted for its success or otherwise, the world is still waiting. And what a name, Mwanamiwa simply means a child of sugarcane. Will the next protest summon the women's ability to allow partial sexual encounter bereft of the sweetness that usually accompanies it. Mwanamiwa should tell us.
That is all am asking Mwanamiwa?  undecided Nothing more.

Although I started with the word loose, cause I could not comprehend how women of high position in the society could result to sex as a form of protest , that is more like what an uneducated prostitute could come up with, and if kenyan activists  women have resulted to using sex as a form of protest then it puts my own believe of what a protest should look like in doubt until there is a confirmation if the form of protest worked or not.

Mwanamwiwa to put it clearly without any doubt, I respect Kenyan people not just their women, but it would be better you see things in there true light rather than you allow your emotion take control.

Part of the message in Cairo was to break BiBi. BiBi is a hardliner, he does not understand the word peace. Obama is trying to use the world against him.

He has pleaded to the Arabs for peace, Hamaz has toned down, we are back to 1993, lets see what the Jew Hardliners would use as an eexcuse. They are already pointing at Iran. Lets hope Alhamadinajad looses the election. What will those Jewish hardliners hide behind. Lets see if they would say Somalia should be sorted out first before they move towards peace.

If Almadinajad looses that election and Saudi Arabia says its ready to make peace. I think Obama should do exactly what Bush senior did to get them on the Negotiating table, Freeze all guaranteed loan America passes to them, straight up. It has nothing to do with White or Black.

Those Jewish hardliners has killed everything that would have made our world a better place. Like Robert Nesta Marley said, "how many prophets would they kill while we sit behind and look".

I hope Davidylan comes in.  cheesy

Foreign AffairsRe: A Pre-emptive Call From A "non-ideologue" - Kim Jong Il by Ikomi(m): 3:56pm On Jun 10, 2009
The problems of DPRK did not start with Bush Junior or Clinton.

Korea was occupied by the Mongols in 1231. The Mongols as history puts it are warriors that roamed Erguna River. That Peninsula has seen many wars.

Although we have so many tribes that roamed and were once warriors that live peacefully with there neighbours in this present day and time, the major problem with North Korea is its Rogue Regime. A regime where virtually an Individual dictates what happens. Sometimes you see the State coming out of its shell to embrace the south when it held talks in 1971, 1984 and 1988. In 2005 it held talks with Japan and United States to cautiously open its doors, and discuss issues of concern. These actions are quite contrary to what happened in 1993 when it pulled out of the NPT.

In other for most Rogue Regimes to hold to power the first thing they always do is up there military capability. Which is exactly the ideology of Kim Il-sung before his death under the disguise of Self Reliance which is now been pursued by his son Kim Jong-il.

So you could see that sometimes there actions are just erratic.

Good examples are Gaddafi of Libya and Castro of Cuba.

To answer your first question, you need to understand that what most well governed nation has is a long term goal. A long term plan exists but never followed to the letter, it changes as events turn out.
The US tried to use aid to implode DPRK after the death of Kim Jong Sung hoping that the new Leader Kim Jong  il would have a different perspective of the west. We all know Father and Son don’t always agree. Unfortunately that tactics failed. Kim Jong –il demonstrated that he was one with the father.

To answer other questions, every leader in there first term tries something different to see if they would achieve a different result and leave a legacy. So Bush seeing Putin’s soul was his way of warming up to the man, but no matter what position you are in life, you could still be surprised.

Foreign AffairsRe: Omar Bongo Of Gabon Is Dead. by Ikomi(m): 9:47am On Jun 09, 2009
Mr Bongo became vice-president, and then president, of Gabon in 1967.

He stopped work in May, and entered a clinic in Barcelona. Government officials insisted it was for a check-up, but other reports said he had cancer.

Mr Bongo faced a French inquiry into corruption allegations.

Oil earnings mean that Gabon is officially one of Africa's richest states but analysts say that the political elite have kept most of the money for themselves. Most of the country's 1.4 million people live in poverty.

Mr Bongo was one of three African leaders being investigated for alleged embezzlement by a French judge. The others are Denis Sassou-Nguesso of the Republic of Congo and Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea.

It is alleged that the properties owned by Mr Bongo's family in France could not have been purchased with official salaries alone.

Mr Bongo denied any wrongdoing.
Someone should wake him up and remind him he forgot something, or take it to him, whichever is easier. Gabon. angry

Since you think you are smart and would rather take everything literally, I shall quote a point from the bible awaiting when I lay my hands on a Quran so that I can read the the whole chapter, then we will know if it means what you exactly say.

But for the mean time: what is wrong with Mo calling for the killing of those who killed his fellow Prophet Isa = Jesus? And even caused him to sometime act behind the scenes.

John 7:1
Jesus travelled round Galilee but could not travel round Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him

John 7:2
As the Jewish feast of Shelters drew near, his brothers said to him, "Leave this place and go to Judea, so that your disciples, too, can see the works you are doing; no one who wants to be publicly known acts in secret; if this is what you are doing, you should reveal yourself to the Jews."

To his brothers Jesus said:

John 7:7
"The Jews cannot hate you, but it does hate me, because I give evidence that its ways are evil"

So if Mo calls for the Killing of those who killed Jesus tell me what is wrong with that?

I believe with Jews in accordance with Mo and Jesus they meant Unbelievers, who happen to be Jews. Probably they had no word for fanatics.

You said i should study the Quran, i did , so Check this out

In 2007, Osama bin Laden, used quotes from the Qur'an to justify his declaration of war on Pervez Musharraf and the Pakistan army[40], such as:

O prophet! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be harsh against them. Their abode is hell, and an evil destination it is. [Qur'an 9:73]

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guides not a people unjust. [Qur'an 5:51]

And fight them until there’s no fitnah (polytheism) and religion is wholly for Allah (Force conversion ) .[Qur'an 8:39

Fighting is prescribed for you, (terrorism) and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not. [Qur'an 2:216]

The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter; [Qur'an 5:33]

This is from the Quran. Check them out your self.

You can imagine what’s going on in the mind of an Islamic extremist after digesting such Quran verses. I await response from Lagosboy and olabowale, lets see how you can twist this.

I will always say this, "the problem is not the extremist but the Islamic Ideology". In real sense, extremists should represent the far end one’s belief. The Islamic terrorist represents the above Quran verses. (Hatred, Intolerance, wiliness to fight and kill)
scktaggif:
My goodness, you are right. I just checked it.

"O believers, do not take the Jews and the Christians as your friends and protectors, they are friends of each other. And whoever makes them a friend then he is from amongst them (Quran 5:51-52)

The specific impediments to the establishment of a Palestinian state is because Israel declares that its security demands that a Palestinian entity would not have all attributes of a state, at least initially. Israel may be therefore said to agree (as of now) not to a complete and independent Palestinian state, but rather to a self-administering entity, with partial but not full sovereignty over its borders and its citizens.

Foreign AffairsRe: Israel Not Going To Bomb Iran: Foreign Minister said by Ikomi(m): 11:34pm On Jun 05, 2009
Your a major fool who would rather go back to events that happened when you were not born. I stay with the ones I witnessed.

A peace accord was signed by Arafat and Rabin in the lawn of washington on the 13 of may 1993.

The peace accord proposed an Isreali withdrawal from Gaza and Jericho on the west bank by 13 December of that same year. the areas would come under Palestinian self goverment. The PLO central council at a meeting on 12 October ratified the agreement.

Detailed negotiations with Isreal over witdrawal stalled when Isreal demanded the right to protect Jewish settlers who were there before the peace accord, to control border crossing and to determine the exact extent of Jericho. So you see how they were tactically trying to withdraw from the accord. To let peace reign the PLO agreed that the deadline for implementation could be extended for a further ten days.

Implementation came to an abrupt halt when on 25 Febuary 1994 Baruch Goldstein an Isreali settler and an army officer, perpetrated a massacre at the Ibrahim mosque, gunning down 48 Palestinians. It was later revealed that basically the Isreali army had no orders to stop any Isreali settler who decides to open fire on Palestinians.

Now idiot Davidylan tell me how is that just?  Now would we be right if we say the attack could even have been master minded by the state of Isreal in other to halt the peace process since they know what will follow.

What did the Isreali authority do after this incident, they clamped a curfew on Palestinians, while Isreali settlers moved freely, and in some cases applaud Goldstein.

The massacre was only avenged on 6 April by Hamas when it killed seven Isreali civilians.

Though talks continued after this events between Rabin and Arafat in their determined effort to find peace. But what did those your fanatic friends do in other to stop the move again.

They killed Yithak Rabin. There own prime Minister, in other to make sure there would be no peace in that region.

I have said it before you are an idiot. That would go back to 1964, and bring up events you can only read in books.

I saw Rabin shake Arafat. These two fought wars on different sides but still saw the reason for peace, but idiots like you who have never seen war would seat at the comfort of your couch and shout bomb bomb bomb Iran.

Idiot why dont you go fly a plane yourself and do the bombing. Ewu Ocha.

You keep recycling the same empty emotionalism with NO JUSTIFICATION. Who denied who their "rights"? What are these "rights"? Why did these people start claiming a "right" THEY OPENLY DENIED IN 1964?

Please answer these questions. Thank you.
That is all you should have said that you need to be informed instead of Rambling.

The original PLO Charter (issued on 28 May 1964[3]) stated that "Palestine with its boundaries that existed at the time of the British mandate is an integral regional unit" and sought to "prohibit, the existence and activity" of Zionism.[4] It also called for a right of return and self-determination for Palestinians. Palestinian statehood was not mentioned, although in 1974 the PLO called for an independent state in the territory of Mandate Palestine.
The charter was written while statehood was omitted, what it wrong with asking for a state, within this boundaries that was marked out during the British leadership of the region? Just because your fellow not peace loving friends in Isreal would not allow it, they would rather hold on to seized territories, in Gaza and the West bank. They then turn on to claim the seizure on the activities of Hamaz, now Hamaz has toned down hoping for you and your fellow fanatics in Isreal to show the same goodwill. Now you turn around and say, lets look at Iran. If Iran should tone down am sure you and your fellow fanatics would find another reason. Maybe Somalia.

- The "fact" that when Israel promptly handed back the West bank and Gaza to the former owners they were soundly rejected?

- The "fact" that Egypt got the sinai back over 50yrs ago?

Just WHO are those denying the "palestinians" their own state?

Like i always say . . . it is not by force to post in the politics section especially if you have the mental capacity of a 5yr old.
You are just one rambler, tell us how your facts justifies denying the Palestinians a state? That is all I ask and you keep blabbing facts.

Okay am going to put you in a tough position since you have made up you mind to be an idiot.

Give us a lecture how your facts justifies denying the Palestinians a state.

Let me lead the way, cause the Palestinians are muslims, who would not know what to do with a state, and they had to wait till May 1964 in Jerusalem to form a representative body, and there flag consits a red color, which we all know is a crime, and above all they have fanatics which davidylan is not.

With all this said,  the Palestinians don't deserve a state.

That is all I ask of you inglorious idiot.
