Vlyrics:
For me, these clubs meant well. Look at EPL top six, Totheham, Arsenal and maybe Liverpool or Chelsea will not be in Champions league next season, do you know how much that will cost them? Arsenal Fans are complaining that they don't buy players but do you know that Arsenal borrowed 120m. pounds just to pay salaries? Where will they get the money to buy quality players? whereas to a them like Leicester, being in Champions league is a dream, no plans to keep coming. If Chelsea don't make Champions league every season, they make losses. Barca is in massive debt just to keep Messi and the likes. These guys deserves more money and protection from UEFA. You can't expect club owners to be using personal wealth to fund clubs, that is not viable economically. Football is not a charity organization.
So in your mind, if a business is making losses, you should not question their strategy and past decisions, but just continue to pump more money into it right?
Have you asked yourself why Leicester is more successful than Arsenal in the league? Have you thought maybe this so called non elite clubs might have a better work ethics and financial control than the wasteful elites? Simply because the so called elite clubs are spending huge amount of money on players sometimes undeservedly too does not mean they should get more from the cake. The amount spent on players should never be a determinant of what they get, but the success they get from their investments. In football, success is about winning, and if they are not winning, the loosing teams don't deserve more money than the winning teams.
If they are not OK with UEFA they can still go ahead and create their own association and leave FIFA affiliated FAs.

You have no idea how Françafrique works, and how it has enriched France for the last almost 70 years at Africa's expense

They are still the "manufacturing hub"

Manufacturing what?

The Areva, Bollores and other French giants building France and paying most of France's revenues
How do you think they get their monies?

The uranium that generates 3/4 of France electricity (tell me which other country energy need is structured like this)

Do you know the agreement signed with Mali and niger that facilitates this
Plus the faulty pricing mechanism?

Many of you just don t get it
You said I have no idea, but failed to provide the facts on how Franceafrique is enriching France tremendously that it would lead to France becoming a poor country if the African countries should withdraw their Reserves. Also, you can as well provide snippets of the contracts France signed with Mali and Niger which can buttress your claim that France is cheating those countries.

Do come forward with your facts please. I am waiting. No sentiments.

Thank you.

BabaRamota1980:
France is relevant in world politics today because of its Francophone countries, particularly in North and West Africa.

France economy subsists on African wealth. France will be broke if these African countries disintegrate, and is why whenever any people or sub ethnic in West Africa starts to talk of secession, France is engaged and pumps money in to destroy the thought. If Biafra is allowed to break free other ethnic groups in many of Francophones will follow that example. At end of day France power will diminish along with the dismembered countries.

This is the story of Southern Cameroon.

That's a big fat lie a lot Africans like to peddle around to console themselves. If the CFA countries would withdraw all their reserves from France, of course it would have an economic impact, but don't believe this would make France suddenly become a poor country. France is still a manufacturing hub of world repute. Even in the article, it is written that the combined GDP of the 14 countries is merely $300 billion (150 million people). Compare it to France's (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_France).

Sentiment apart, if you ask me who would be poorer, I would like to suggest to you to look closer to home. French leaders aren't definitely going to deplenish their country's Reserve and spend on frivolities or stealing and locking it away in one foreign account.

Misleading Title; I hope this isn't a sponsored post to justify the arrest of the Premium Times reporter who was arrested by Nigeria police for his refusal to disclose his source of published story.

As uncorrelated as this article is to this article, there is nowhere where it is stated that any journalist was arrested for leaks but rather their sources were arrested. The disclosure law only applies to the workers in the relevant departments, not to journalist.

Since the illegal arrest and prosecution of the premium times reporter has garnered international attention, this could be a lame attempt at justifying its illegality.

You are very sensible. And you have pointed out the laziness or rather the lack of intelligence of the Nigerian police. The Nigerian security outfits don’t really have much intelligence, and they seems to also lack the will and Know-how to carry out intelligence investigations, and that’s the reason they always result to the very easy and cheap way out. Arrest the journalist and torture him.

Well, Nigeria does charge a lot. And also if you are honest with yourself, it is not farfetched for these countries to require you to conduct the test at their certified medical centre. It's a common knowledge that in Nigeria, anything goes. Why would anyone require you to learn their language to visit as a tourist or a business man? All the complaints you have made are about Student Visa, and not general Visas. Besides, you are made aware of the requirements and attendant costs. Ach....shut your mouth and stop putting a damp on things. Above all, stop being so racist! I sincerely hope that your need to criticize is coming from a place of sourness and poor sportsmanship; not from any rationale you think you may have. 'Deutschland Ueber Alles' is a hymn that celebrates nationhood and patriotism, beautifully composed by Haydn. It is not racist, it is nationalist. It is no different from believing in 'America First' or believing one's self to be the giant of Africa (in things other than population). The fact that Germany has had her unfortunate history does not mean she has to pay for it forever by giving up pride in and love for country. Such commitment gives a nation its grit. The fact that you believe that a German of African ancestry cannot be German, and therefore committed to country, is racist in itself. And it is insensitive to players like Boateng and Ruediger who put on that jersey to play for their country. Same applies to Ozil, Khedira, and Gomez.
Firstly I thought you are a sensible person, but reading your reply gives you completely away as an ignorant nonentity. If it was such a nice hymn, I would dare you to go to Germany and sing it loud in the square. I would be keen not only to know what the law says about your behaviour, but also what the proud "German nationalists" think about how an "Untermensch" like you are dirtying their oh so lovely national anthem.

Berliner1:
You stay in a country for 19 years and the only thing you can talk about is the Negative part.

Kindly give a fair pictures of overall country.

I will handle all point you raised one after the other.

1) Education and other sector of Germany is under state jurisdictions. You mention bavaria paying tuition fee and this is false so I respectively disagree with that assertion.
My brother is currently a student in passau which is inside bavaria(computer Science) without paying a tuition fee. What they charge is around 300 euro per semester fee to re-enrol. This money covers transportation for 6 months and other benefit of student.tuition fee has been abolish since 2013.

This is my proof for other readers to peruse.

https://www.study-in-bavaria.de/why-bavaria/10-reasons-to-study-in-bavaria/

2)To talk about eastern germany and rascism in this 21st century shows your assertion is one sided.Take or leave it...there is a strong correlation between tribalsim and rascis. I used ipob and yoruba e-warriors as example of how rascism can be find in most human setting.

But I have a question for you Sir.
How come in all your post you refuse to mention the millions of syrians Germany help. Accommodate them, pay them 300 euro monthly, free health insurance, free education, free child benefit to each child(190 euro)?

3) I understand you lived when they are not open to people, thats around 20 years ago. The present day Germany, have lived and work in the four region without seeing any form of your negative pictures.

Brandeburg you talk about is home to a very large yoruba community. Go to berlin same thing..are they not east Germany? Have tour all the state you mention and there are Nigerians and people of other races there without what you painted being encountered. This is 2018 not 1998.

Anti immigrant sentiment is very high where?

If you are here legally they have no issues with you. Except the illegal asylum seekers and drug dealers, which alot of people who came into Germany in the early years fall into.

4) You talked about semester job not in the east....lol...bros things has changed...Have u heard about amazon in berlin, brandenburg and leipzig?
Do you know even asylum seekers work in several places all year round now talkless of legal resident like student?

After enjoying here for 19 years its only the weaker and negative part you talk about...its Ok.

Please tell the world about German top companies. There immigration friendly policy etc .

My point is give a fair picture of the country to the readers. Like I did.

All countries have there disadvantages, but when benefit outweighed cost, I think its a good move.

Happy Sunday Sir.
Good to hear that they have abandoned the tuition fees as Bavaria was at the forefront of introducing tuition fees. I see it also on DAAD page as well: https://www.daad.de/deutschland/nach-deutschland/voraussetzungen/en/9198-financing/.

East Germany has been a hotbed of intolerance against foreign looking people. Maybe I am listening to the wrong news about Germany, but NTV is actually a mainstream TV network and they report about foreigners especially asylum seekers being attacked in some states in the East.

A question for you, where is the large communities of Yorubas in Brandenburg? I knew you were going to mention Berlin, but is a very different case if you know the history of modern Germany. Potsdam's closeness to Berlin is an advantage, but Brandenburg has seen a number of people killed because they are African. Do you remember the case of the Ethiopian guy? That was not too long ago. I know there are many Yoruba people in Berlin, but Brandenburg, not so. I was actively involved with Egbe Omo Yoruba Germany / Egbe Isokan Omo Yoruba Germany e.V.

Leipzig I have to say is a cosmopolitan city in Saxony. The state of Saxony is however a hotbed of anti foreigner demonstration if ARD, ZDF, NTV etc. are not lying in their reports. And German media seem to be more reliable sources than American or Russia Today.

Regarding Amazon jobs, isn't only available during the Xmas season?

Anyway, to answer your question, and not to argue blindly, I am not saying Germany is terrible, but that you should make people aware of the issues so as to be able to cope well. And besides, I think I made it clear in my post that there is a dichotomy between the policy of the state, and that what the people want. Else AfD would not be getting so much votes. Indeed the Government of Merkel has helped the Syrian refugees, but that has given made the Nazi parties to swell in their numbers.

Germany is a beautiful and lovely country, and we have some of the most kindhearted people in the world. Nonetheless, there are many, too many terrible people that just don't like someone, because of their skin color. Even though it is not widespread across the country, but still there are some no go areas.

Enjoy.

Berliner1:
You raised a valid point but you counter it yourself.
Lets pick the point one by one.

1) I said semester ticket is free...you said its subsidized......let me use a state like Northrine westfalia as example.... a monthly ticket for non student that covers dortmund to dusseldorf alone is 220 euro.multiply it by 6 month =1320 euro

Compare it to a student who pay 280 euro as semester fees....the semester fee covers all your studies for a semester, takes you the whole of the state, this ticket also takes you to holland and belgium free for six month.....can you compare 1320 to 280?

2) You said not all school are free....what are expecting? You want private university to br free...in my ealier post I.mention only govt universities...the only exception is baden wurttemburg( 1 states out of 16).

3) You talk about rascism: please sir are you new on this platform? Cant you see ipob and yoruba e-warriors on nairaland? Rascim is everywhere bro...how you respond/react to it is what matters. Even UK policy of brexit, cancelling of post study visa is rascist and anti immigrant.

You lived here for 19 years says alot about the country.
If its bad am sure you would have port away.

Like I said, presently in the western world, Germany is the easiest, immigrant friendly and economically best choice for average Nigerian.

Danke.
If you pay for something even if it's one Euro, you cannot qualify it as free, because you are paying for it. There are perks you get from different states, but you have to differentiate from state to state.

When I replied you, I don't think I spoke about private Universities. I said Education is state affair, and you should be specific and not generalize. BTW, how many private universities do you have in Germany? There are not many, so please learn to keep arguments in the proper perspective.

Again, saying it's only B-W that collects fees shows you are not conversant with the situation. Bavaria does collect fees too, even if the fees you pay are not as expensive as what you pay in the UK. You still have to calculate it as part of your cost to arrive at the proper cost of living.

I do not know how you young people argue. First and foremost, tribalism and racism are two different things. Secondly, online rants, and physical attacks are not the same either. How many of those ipod people or Yoruba e-warriors have you heard are going after each other on the streets of Nigerian towns?

And if you had understood my post very well, you wouldn't come with such ridiculous counter argument. I remember to clearly have said Eastern Germany is particularly worse. And the most states in the East are poorer than the west, and they have a lot of these Nazis all around towns, and it is much dangerous to go out alone again. This was something that happened 20+ years ago, and the government did a lot to suppress it, and in the wake of the plenty asylum seekers have resurfaced again.

I lived 19 years there, and it was the most enjoyable time. But I was aware of the dangers. I was aware of where to go, where not to go, and I avoided going to some areas in the dark alone at night. Still, you cannot totally avoid these people. And comparing Nairaland ipod and e-warrior rants to racism, and saying there's racism everywhere tells me you are not conversant with the danger of Nazism. Anti foreigners sentiment is very high in today's Germany, and people need to know it. If you want to go to school in Germany, avoid states in the East (Saxony, Mecklenburg-Pomerania, Brandenburg, Saxony- Anhalt and to some extent Thuringia) even though it is cheaper there, because the chance that some lunatics can physically attack and kill you, because of your skin colour IS REAL.
Besides, you may not find a semester job if you stay in the east.

All government universities in Germany are free.

Legally you have 18month to stay over after your studies...thats enough to get a job to stay here forever.

German government is immigrant friendly.we want skilled labour workforce.

Plenty student jobs from amazon(1300 euro monthly) to daimler Mercedes-Benz (2000euro).

Free education and semester ticket to make life comfortable.

I live and study here and visit uk.....very close to each other.

UK government is after your money...RUN
Please stop misleading people about Semesterticket being free. You get to pay for it, but it is subsidized. And besides, tuition is not free in all Universities. You have to be specific in which State you live, because you cannot generalize the conditions in your state to other states. Education is state and not federal government affair in Germany. The UK is at least ca 500 kilometres away from Germany at their closest point, and you have to cross either France, Belgium or the Netherlands, and of course the sea to get to the UK from the Germany. If you are not an EU/EEA citizen, you need a visa to enter the UK even though you have a Schengen visa.
Public transport Infrastructures are generally better in Germany than the UK. Germany is richer than the UK, and so Life tends to be better on average in Germany. However, you must not forget that in Germany, the chance to be exposed to racial hate is much higher than in the UK. East Germany is particularly worse. Even though the government of Angela Merkel is friendly to immigrants', this doesn't mean German people like the foreigners much. I lived in Germany for more than 19 years.

By the way, it's "Willkommen in Deutschland". I know that Deutsche Grammatik can cause a lot of "headaches;-).
