Toks2008:Even you. Forced you ke? who's in control of you? and I guess your car was legitimately parked and you were not breaking the law any any way. LASTMA just picked on your innocent law-abiding self abi?. Nigerians sha..... we can blame everything and anyone else but the guilty . |
ALEBS: Nigeria is rotten. Forget the infantile name-checking nonsense for a minute and read the article in a sober, objective manner. The victims could have been any of us or our loved ones. Realise how how far we have sunk for a common tout to not only kill innocent people indiscriminately, but to also have political backing to the point of becoming a 'special' adviser? ![]() |
matrix199:Abi o. Marine spirit ko, Navy Seal Djinn ni. Only the gullible would have believed his bull crap in the first place. |
sunnyeinstein:Thank You. |
double post. Sorry |
makabulchi:And so what? . Aren't the many innocent Nigerians killed by idiots like him also someone's sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, uncles, friends ? Or is it OK for people to die at the altar of stupidity? You have to understand something. Respect is only for those who, by their deeds and examples otherwise, deserve it. |
iamSi:You're missing the point. Empty (speculation on your part) or not, no serious security operative anywhere in the world would ever do what that idiot did. Shame. |
That they were used as errand boys by a Ghanaian is neither here nor there, after all Nigerians too use them against each other and if you've ever dealt with an unreasonable and unrepentant trader, (most of whom are always fellow Nigerians) you may even understand why he felt there was no other option but to go down that route. The crux of the matter is should any self-respecting military personnel allow him/her self to be used in that way. From escorting cargo, to carrying handbags for Oga's girlfriend, there's no shortage of willing, hungry 'boys'. It a shame. |
If the lady in question were wise, she'd know the tweet could land the writer in serious trouble. What he wrote is both misogynistic and racist. A hate crime in other word. So stop whining and make use of the supposed education. |
@all, relax, breathe and ..... exhale. It's all wrong. Whether it's Arabic or Hausa it is wrong. The NA is the Nigerian Army not the Northern Army ((unless we're missing the subliminal message). For those comparing it to Latin, countries with European heritage are free and proud to use it as it is a reflection of their past glory after all. That Africans use it, is just another thing we copy without context or thought. Unless particular squadrons have mottos in Yoruba, Igbo, Ibibio, etc, having a motto based on the language from a particular part of the country or Arabia is wrong and divisive. It should be based on the agreed lingua franca. (see I'm doing it too) . The problem is bigger. Africans need a reset. Just wait for the Jesus/Allah brigade to come and complete the comedy show and you'll see what I mean about how lost we are. ![]() |
@op, I came about this topic by chance and it really disturbs me on many levels. Can I ask that you do the following:- 1.Protect your family from further harm by removing your real name and other references that gives away your identity. It will protect your sister from loose or malicious tongues. I appreciate you seek justice, but there are things that should never be shared publicly. 2. I hope medical attention has been sought for all affected. Please don't do 'ogboju' on that front. Ask for help financially if needed. 3. Is there any idea of the perpetrators? I don't want to compound one injustice with another, so you have to revisit that awful night and think hard. There may have been a slip-up with real names, nicknames, mannerisms, speech patterns, clothing, footwear, something to start with. 4. I pray all if you together are strong and support each other to get through it. If you can corroborate your story, send a pm. |
galadee: I must have missed this one. Please elaborate. Thanks |
Have you ever wondered why development, human and scientific, are low to non-existent in some places? Want to see the correlation between the average level of thought and how it manifests in the state of a society? If so, read the comments in this post. Whether you go on to shake your head repeatedly, laugh uncontrollably or just break down and cry for the future of our country is entirely up to you. |
pweetychyka:No mind me ojare @pweetychyka, na cluelessness dey worry me. ![]() |
alpha75:@alpha75, you're unwittingly making the point against your argument. Let me help you. ![]() 1. functioning states aren't usually awash with the type of weaponry you mentioned in the first place. That robbers have them is indicative of failure of the security apparatus and therefore the state. 2. In a functioning state, after robberies of this nature, local, state and national resources are immediately deployed to hunt them down. Compare that to the yeye '0-0' statement by the NPF (and that is despite the death of an innocent woman and a child) and tell us again how well it all is with Nigeria. 3. That the robbery went on for hours unhindered represents a complete dereliction of duty by the police whose main duty is upholding law and order and protecting lives and properties. 4. Clueless ? ....... yep, you got me there . |
alpha75: sigh........ delusions masked in patriotism. So you think all is well in a country in which armed robberies go on for hours and the supposed law enforcers go into hiding and make convenient excuses?. That to you is a functioning state? Someone needs to buy a brain alright. ![]() |
ijustdey:My brother, you are right about the astronomical waste of money that was taking place but wrong about fear of EFCC. The same EFCC existed before, they'd become a lame duck. It is the new leadership they fear. Imagine all that money, wasted. F*cking bast*rds |
adconline: Kai! My brother, abeg na night school I been go. Please break it down for me in simple village English. I suggest for your own sake to keep it simple though, stupi.d! ![]() |
seunmsg:Thank you ojare. After getting to hell, they should take their listing, set it alight and shove it up their jacksie ontop. As if they've ever acted in our best interest. Vultures. |
saviola77:Absolutely correct. They don't seem to realise that the big fish, rather than a mere messenger, is the real prize in cases like this. Having said that, we are assuming there is a functional security apparatus in the first place. For 20kg of illicit material to have made it air-side as was the case with the Arik trafficker, means security is non-existent. To put it in perspective, take a scale and pile weights on top of it to get an idea of how bulky and heavy 20 k.g is. My fellow Nigerians, what if what was being smuggled was neither narcotics nor illicit money? What guarantees do we have that the same lax security would have not waved through something more .... explosive? Cases like this just makes me think it is a matter of when and not if. There is an urgent need for proper security at all our borders. |
write2obi:You dey mind these people. They'll be the first to want the country to progress to being this, that and the other but want to bypass orderliness and proper procedures. . Yeye. |
![]() Make una continue dey blow grammar. For me, any pragmatic person with an understanding of the proactive measures it takes to maintain a nuclear facility and prevent accidents, and is able to juxtapose it with Nigeria's antecedents with provision of common pipe-borne water and maintenance culture, knows this is one babanla bad idea. An irrecoverable one at that. ![]() |
Broken inverter, brought back to life. All praise Eledumare. Lessons learnt : Never trust a curious but careless electrician to look after your set-up. ;
|
I've had to follow the principle having plan b for unforeseen circumstances. A new 4kw inverter so that I can enjoy my investment as I fix the original 6kw inverter. Behold new inverter in between the stabilizer and the holder for the original inverter. Up solar, down NEPA.
|
GooseBaba:Thank you ojare @GooseBaba. To your question we should really add, what's wrong with our own God?. To think our fervent religious 'saviours' wouldn't even be mouthing the words 'Jesus' or 'Allah' had it not been for interaction with Middle Eastern people pushing their own historical ideologies in the first place. Na wa for some Africans o. ![]() |
Barezzi:To which are you referring, the CC? I can send you an e-mail address. There'd be a mark-up if you go via ebay/amazon anyway. It would better to go direct. That's how I got mine cheaper compared to some of the shocking ebay/amazon prices. |
kiekie1:@kiekie1, the CC is made by epsolar (http://www.epsolarpv.com/en/) and it is MPPT. My Panels are poly but the set to complete the system design will be mono (300 watts, SunEdisons). The mix will allow me to experiment with the mono vs poly debate especially when applied to a climate like ours rather than North America / Europe, etc. I'll post the findings. Another company you may be interested in is mppsolar (http://www.mppsolar.com/v3/). My inverter is from them and they've been very helpful with technical advice on how to rectify what the plonker that I entrusted with its care, did to it. |

@JUO et al, thanks for your thoughts but I think we're running away with an anecdotal comment here. We can better judge the performance when it is based on logged/recorded data rather than my momentary observation when still setting up. I'll get around to that soon. Also, the choice of panel position was based on getting the best all year performance in the absence of a sun tracker system. I used a combination of sources on the internet, an android app (Sun Surveyor) and a Tenmars light metre to check before mounting the panels. I will of course, revisit it to ensure I'm getting the best possible yields. |
@JUO, the generator came about as a result of two things. 1. The rubbish gen that wrecked my phone and 2, the worrying results I got in the rainy month of June. I expect it to be hardly used but it is comforting to know that a few consecutive days of cloudy weather and just four hours of it would completely top up the battery bank. |
Barezzi:I sincerely hope so o. I'm just glad the panels are on the flat roof as opposed to the main house roof. When I cleaned them recently, the CCs recorded a big spike in PV input immediately. As for fire protection, the cooling fan is to ensure things don't get too hot to reach that level. So, apart from an extinguisher (which is useless if no-one witnesses the fire), there's nada. |
My brother, I will. I'll post a video of the sound reduction when I escape my meeting later today and I may attempt a proper drawing and parts list if I get the time. |
