bezimo: Pele o, super-experienced bezimo (of one or two years in Canada nonetheless!). . You have to forgive us poor ignorant folks that's never stepped inside a plane let alone possess the depth of confusion to match yours. Anyway, note the corrections, it will stand you in better stead with the Oyinbos you so revere. Unfortunately, I don't think we have anything meaningful to exchange, you're too far gone. ![]() |
bezimo: ![]() LOL. You sir, are not only deluded and brain-washed, but also a prime candidate for exploitation. If I may ask, how old are you? (That was a genuine question of concern btw). |
OP. I think you need to look up the meaning of the word `epic`. ![]() |
These people don come again abi? Prophet ko, self-titled opportunistic wankerr ni. Werey somebody. See him head like watermelon. Idiot ![]() |
ayoolanr:@ayoolanr, maybe if you offer him the wish that his daughter gets the pleasure of a thousand womanizers ,so that she would be well 'loved', he'll see the light. Some people and logic sha ![]() |
blueAgent:Read me well. The crux of my argument is for us to shape up and stop being willing victims. The past is the past. |
cashwhisperer:These and many more points are all mentioned in those old books and discussed maintaining it for just two generations and it gets so embedded in the subjects that it becomes self-perpetuating. In effect, the subjects become willing slaves with no need for interference at all. That is what gets me mad. Fool me once shame on you, but fool me continuously, then not only is it a shame on me, I damn well deserve it. We need complete re-orientation and must discard so many things including the fake religions. Try telling that to a continental or diasporan African and watch the confusion borne of incomprehension on their faces. . That's how embedded it is.The self-perpetuating aspect is sooooo true. It explains not only the behaviour of African Americans but also Africans in Africa and hence our place in the world. |
Dee60:+1000000 My broda, You dey mind village experts? You never even start . |
cashwhisperer:Hi @cashwhisperer, I was happily reading and laughing at the many responses to this thread but I just could not ignore yours. First of all welcome and I sincerely hope you enjoy it and have some meaningful interactions. Just remember, 'Skin folk ain't necessarily kin folk'. All sorts are here too. It is staggering that many people, despite the evidence before them, cannot see that we are literally at war and losing badly. That we have survived everything so far is either dumb luck or superhuman strength. Either way, it is on us to wake up and quick. Animosity between any two people is a human condition and would not normally be a big problem but as you've alluded, it becomes an issue when there is an imbalance of power/resource. In the same way that superior weapons (Muskets vs spears ) led to the overrunning of Africa for colonisation and slavery, so it does today with military might. Weaponry is of course not limited to guns/bombs . Economic, educational and biological warfare have all been visited on other human beings (and continue to be). I wonder how many here even know about the Tuskegee Syphilis experiment or the government-abetted flooding of particular neighbourhoods with drugs in the US? and for the smug mainland Africans, experiments with unapproved drugs , food dumping and other economic sabotage in the name of missions/ aid on Africans in Africa. In short, the winner gets the spoils, gets to write history from his perspective and push his own agenda. With unchecked power, one-sided views are entrenched and legitimised. Morality has never or ever will feature. That should explain why no reparation /apology for slavery or colonisation will ever come. If we put all that down to an unfortunate past, what pisses me off is that the future looks even bleaker and the fault for that is squarely on us. Put simply, are not helping ourselves. I don't have time to elaborate on individual points but if I were in government, the Makings of a Slave and the Mis-education of the Negro (astonishing how many of the points in the books apply to this very day) are two books, along with studies on African renaissance heroes (Lumumba, Nkrumah, Sankara and many more) I will have on the syllabus instead of the glorification of others (yes my sister even in Africa, we worship others ). That may help in getting heads right before we even begin to lift ourselves up but, as the saying goes 'if you want to hide something from black folks, hide it in a book or give them a Bible / Quran and voila!, stupidity continua ' (OK, a bit of artistic license there, but you get the point)b.t.w Chimamanda was right, like insulting someone and accusing them of not having a sense of humour if they don't laugh along, those that set the tone of the Trump campaign and stand to gain 'their glory/country back' (oh, the irony) should not get to decide what is offensive. To allow that would be to give convenient selective morality a pass. |
RedRiver: plaetton:I hope you can both see why it is no exaggeration when many say the black race is doomed . The prevalence of low I.Q, mixed with religious doctrine that is thoughtlessly passed on to new generations, make it a never-ending cycle. Honestly, I know of no other racial group that has suffered as much indignity but steadfastly remain foolish as the black race. Many of the comments on this thread are from young, supposedly educated people. In other words, the future. ![]() |
I will not write, I will not fall for the joke my African people are clearly playing here........ We are joking right? ....... Riiighttttt!? ![]() |
State subsidies for Western farmers and one-sided trade 'agreements' will never allow African produce (no matter how better or organic, to get a foot-hold in Europe. It makes one wonder why Africans (Nigerians especially) are obsessed to the point of addiction with imported food?. ![]() Africa is blessed We are blessed with largely fertile land that we under-exploit Our waters are under-fished fish to the point of unchallenged illegal fishing from countries (e.g Spain) as a result of our lackadaisical attitude. Even now, with our supposed education and enlightenment we are still being robbed of mineral resources by outsiders. And yet, as many look enviously at what westerners have built for themselves (and maintain by all means fair or foul) some Africans are silly enough to think they can do the same without ruthless self-sufficiency first and that the playing field is level? Me, I don't blame anybody o. The foolish are there to be exploited, it is human nature after all. So lets keep importing stock-fish, frozen fish, frozen turkey, pasta, noodles all manner of second-rate rubbish. ![]() "A escravidão é contínua, O sofrimento está assegurado" |
ba7man: My thoughts exactly. The same nonsense since nineteen-kokoro. Na wa for us. ![]() |
If you'd followed other people ignoring the guy instead of carrying your 'sharp-sharp' Nigerian practice go there you'd be alright. Personally, I hate it when someone approaches me with stolen goods/ buy-it-now bargains thinking they know who or what I am because I'm black. The guy thought little of you and sadly, you played the role. Never mind. |
soberdrunk: It is very very very hard to explain to a "hungry" man that a certain type of food is bad for his health, i dont blame Nigerians for wanting to take a chance with 'dangerous' food than dying of "hunger", it is the logical thing to do. I was going to write how anyone who invests in a scheme that produces nothing, sells nothing and has no verifiable investment vehicle, but 'miraculously' gives 30% returns deserve all the pain and suffering they will eventually get when the ponzi/pyramid scam folds but your analogy is a lot better. ![]() Dem eye go clear when boys use their money enjoy December. ![]() |
@OP, I think the many replies should have answered your question. Ordinarily, new (OEM or reliable equivalent) would be the choice for many but when you have a market dominated by fakes, tokunbo becomes a safer choice. It's a shame really but thats what we've allowed for ourselves. |
stinggy:My brother, your words will fly over the heads of many and the message/lesson will be lost. Parochial thinking always leads to division (ironically within and without) and ultimately, defeat. The "Make una leave am, na my tribesman, my state man, my village man, my street man, my brother" is a downward spiral to self-destruction. Such mindset in opposition to the truth, justice and the common good, bodes well for no one. But sha woman beans, funny things....very very funny. |
malton:My brothers, thank you. That some people can, in all good conscience, support a corrupt judiciary ... smh #iamoneofthem! |
harmbhrosz: ![]() I was reading and laughing all along as some of the comment are indicative of the root cause of the problem. Well done for trying sha. Me?, I gave up a looooooong time ago. My brother, accept one unpalatable truth :- (Most) Africans are inferior. Just read some of the comments on this threads and you have your proof. The way we act, speak and carry ourselves are manifestations of thought, and I'm afraid we are sadly lacking. Look dispassionately at the condition of individual countries in Africa, the continent as a whole and our standing in the world and tell me we are 'equal' to other peoples. No one has taken our arms, natural strength or eyes away, but it seems that (and we too, by our continued thoughtlessness have allowed it to pass from one generation to the next) our ability to think for ourselves is damaged beyond repair. When you then come on Nairaland and see what supposedly 'educated' people put forth as thought, you realise the downward spiral is terminal. Look, just concentrate on educating younger people around you/immediate family. Honestly, you'd be wasting your time otherwise. ![]() |
Different types of pastors 'seeds' (whether donated or received) and mumu people are are like this ![]()
|
amagunnerfan:Absolutely correct @amagunnerfan. When one comes to Nairaland, you have to remember one thing :- "Opinions are like arse-holes, everybody has one". Most times when you read what passes for reasoning on Nairaland, you just wonder whether it is Nairaland or Nigeria as a whole that has a bigger distribution of arse-holes in its population than would normally be the case. It's better not to bother replying at all. |
LadyX:My sister, don't mind them. Some people are so ignorant it is unbelievable. They are the giants of Africa in boasting only. The shame is that most of them don't even know it. |
vodutive:Abi o, can any more damage be done than the ineffectual buffoon did to himself? yeye. |
Do you know what happened afterwards? Was he at least taken to a hospital? If so, do you know which one? Any other information about him would be a good start. Which school does he attend (from the uniform)?. Many people would be willing to help. I just hope he's not been left in that state with people walking by and gawping. If you have any info, send a p.m. |
lonelydora: LOL You, madam, have made me laugh heartily on this gloomy rainy morning. Thank youMany will probably mis-interpret the simple truism in your statement. Let me contextualise it with an example:- James Ibori had the opportunity to work and better himself abroad. He was a 'diasporan' (who coined that annoying phrase sef?) as being touted here. Whilst there, he was a till-skimming (stealing from the cash register) fraudulent thief. The system there caught him and if he'd remained, he would not have progressed beyond that level of employment. Knowing that, he returned to Nigeria, where (ironically) the 'Nigerian system' allowed a proven thief to attain the position of Governor, thereby legitimising his thievery. My point? Nigeria's salvation does not lie with 'diasporans' or 'home-brews' (me sef sabi coin phrase nau, abi?). Rather, it is in ensuring dead bodies Instead of the get-rich-quick bastards that our system encourages now, along with a population fully vested in the country, only strong institutions peopled with well-meaning Nigerians can do that . In short, the problem is what we as a people allow to take place in Nigeria. The diasporan /martian / visa-seeking 'patriotic' home-based Nigerian argument is a mere detail. |
sammie771:You fricking idiot. If you think placing the genitali.a of the victim of a heinous crime on the world wide web is OK, you're even more of an arsehole than I thought you to be in the first place. What if she were your family member? Would you like it? Dim-wit. Edit: Thankfully someone has had enough sense to remove the offending picture. There's hope after all. |
@op, I don't know who or what you are, but you're seriously dishonouring the woman victim. Did you really have to put such a picture of her up for the purpose of a story?. What the Bleep is wrong with some of you! . Are Seun and the supposed moderators here also devoid of respecting deceased people? |
Goddys: Kai, Africans mumu sha, you mean to tell me there are people who carry all this Norse fairytale so much on their head they actually kill each other believing this kind of nonsense? LOL!!! |
@banmee and tomquest, you're wasting your time. Don't you know that mostly supreme beings that are always in the right with at least one god in place of thinking faculty inhabit Nigeria? That's why they are the Giants of Africa, the envy of the world, no? |
OP, investigative journalism is long dead in Nigeria. Brown-envelope journalism and yeye blogging has taken its place and a big part of the blame lies on the consumers of the trash being churned out. By the way, if you're going yo change 'existing' to 'exist', you must change 'do' to 'does' too. |
Midecuc:@OP, tell your friend and his passenger to thank their lucky stars. I've looked at the pictures again and it look like at least 3 bullets were fired at the car. The first two was fired from the front towards the driver. One hit the bonnet and the other went through the windscreen and out of the side window. The third bullet went horizontally across the car through both windows (fired just about level with the driver, I'd guess). Luckily your friend hadn't leaned forward and the bullet was high enough not to hit his driving hands/left shoulder. Was there more than one shooter? or just one on the driver side of the road? please ask your friend. They were both very lucky. Look at the exit hole of the third bullet. Compare its entry point on the driver side to the exit position at the passenger side relative to the window, it was getting closer to hitting the front passenger with the forward motion of the car. It may have been random shooting on the part of the robber , but I have a feeling whoever was trying to stop your friend is not new to weapons and was going for upper body/head shots. For what it is worth, they should note the exact location and let people and the authorities know. When your friend has calmed down enough, ask him to narrate the events. I want to know how these robbers try to stop people in cars. |
iaamxavier:Abi o. If people of supposedly higher education can be this stupid, are we not doomed? Do the supremacists not have a valid point? |
