It’s been a long and bumpy journey but God has been good to me.
Applied for a visiting visa and got denied in October 2021 for lack of evidence of sources of funds and travel history.
Started the student visa process immediately with hopes of japa-ing in January.
I’m a third class holder and didn’t want premasters because of the funds involved so I started applying to different schools, Coventry was the first to give me admission but the fees was just too high. Oxford Brooke’s followed with Birmingham city uni and I chose Oxford Brooke’s because it was direct masters for management in health and social care with 13,900 tuition fees. Paid the tuition deposit and then they refused me cas because I declared my previous visa refusal to their Isat, they said they were afraid I will get another refusal. I was so devastated cos at the them they did this, I had already missed Coventry’s deadline(Dec 18th). I already had my tb test result and had to start all over applying to schools and looking for Jan start. I eventually got University of west London and sunderland the same time. Sunderland also refused me cas because of my previous visa refusal. I had to go UWL even with the 10k deposit required. Did their precas interview and passed but they too denied me cas because of my previous visa refusal! At this point I didn’t know what to do again, time was going, pof was ready and only cas remained. I now sent them a very lengthy mail explaining myself and situation that moved them and they offered me a deferment instead to June as I wasn’t going to be able to make January start when they responded. They gave me a new offer and issued my cas on the 9th of April.
Biometrics was on the 11th of April
1st paid mail 11th of may, no decision made
Got slammed with NSF mail requesting nothing on the 13th of May
Second paid mail 17th of May no decision
Third paid mail 24th of may, decision made
Application transferred to VAC on the 26th of May
Collection mail same 26th
Picked up today
Tls-VI
Documents submitted: cas, pof, waec certificate, passport data page and bsc certificate(self service).
5years study gap.

I’m dropping this here to encourage everyone that’s still waiting, I know the anxiety and stress that comes with this process, but once it’s your turn you’ll get it.

When filling it on cbn trade system portal which option should I choose?

My wife is soon to leave but apart from her tuition fees which I know, what other funds am I looking at?

One more question: for instance, if all she requires is 5m, can I put like 8 or 9m and won't have any problem with it?

No. Jaiz bank screwed me over after waiting for about a week, they said they don't have dollars in any of their branches in Abuja. I had to apply using U.B.A yesterday. My flight is Tuesday and I was told it should be approved by Monday hopefully.

Same thing happened to last month when I wanted to travel, all zenith , union, first bank on mainland in Lagos denied me dollar untill went inland the very I wanted to travel , thank God I got the PTA . Miost bank are using dollar card now. They will load the amount you request in the card which you can use at any pos,ATM etc of your destination. I thank I got cash in my case. These Nigeria knows what they are doing, whenever you use the card at your destination you will charged both home and abroad. Is not encouraging atall . Access Bank started that.

Conditional offer: 3rd of September

Unconditional offer: 7th of October

Precas interview: 3rd of November

Cas shield: 8th of November
(my old passport was to expire in August 2022 and immediately I put my passport details on my CAs shield, I received a notification from the CAs team to upload details of a renewed passport as I won’t be given CAs with a passport that will expire before the end of my studies…I had to quickly reach out to people and got a new passport within 2 weeks)

Also, I have only 1 past visa refusal which I declared to the school at the initial stage of my application and I was made to understand that Ulster’s compliance interview is only done for people with 2 or more past refusals so it was really surprising when my CAS shield was at 55% and got a mail from school on the 6th of December stating that the CAS team had scheduled a compliance interview with me cos of my past visa refusal in 2018.

Compliance interview: 10th of December

CAS:16th of December

Visa application: 20th of December

Biometric: 29th of December (walk in…slept at Ikeja tls for 4days…story for another day)

Application moved to DMC: 29th of December

Application received at DMC: 29th of December

NSF mail: 17th of January..I have 11years study gap but eco only requested for my most recent work or education reference

Submission of additional document: 19th of January and sent another document on the 22nd of January

Application moved to Vac: 28th of January

Collection mail: 28th of January (very late at night)

Passport pick up: 31st of January

Documents submitted: Pof, Tb cert, Neco, Bsc cert and Cas

I wish everyone still waiting for their visas the grace of speed and huge testimony.
