43Ronin: the places where sit-at-home is not enforced are civil servants not sitting at home for 2days because of economic hardship or arent you aware that some state governors asked their civil servants to work 3 days a week? so which is worse keep laughing at your folly. They are not forced to sit at home, are they? They can go out, have fun, visit friends, do shopping, visit their wards schools, write exams, go for interviews, go for other programmes. They are not in fear of being shot for daring to come out of their homes. They are not forcing oil companies, banks and other manufacturing companies to stop working. Fire trucks could not enter Anambra today because of sit at home fears. That business was helplessly gutted down. You must pray not to have any emergency to go to the hospital in the SE during sit at home, it's the end. Be wise please, reason with your future, not with terrorists. |

kingxsamz: Very poor analogy right there. First of all, a child wouldn't need to be warned not to put its hand in fire to realize that it shouldn't. A child who has never been cautioned not to put its hand in fire will most likely not do it through out their lifetime. Also, your analogy doesn't fit because we're talking about people being good/bad to others, and not to themselves. So a child putting its hand in fire will only be hurting itself, not others.
People being scared of punishment is normal and there's nothing wrong with it. But being held back from carrying out an action against someone or people simply because of a punishment, just shows that you would have done that thing if there were no repercussions. Imagine someone saying, "If not because of my religion I would have stolen this old woman's purse". That's exactly what it is. That means, if your religion or god had deemed it right to steal and enslave people, you would be doing it. So...🤷🏾♂️ Coming from a kid, it's expected. Kids try things, they go near fire, hot objects, electricity etc. even a thousand times after being told not to. |

LordReed: I read your nonsensical post that's why I know it is rubbish.
I didn't know that you don't know how to read English. I wrote "At bare minimum empathy and sympathy for the human condition is what is needed", reread it until it sinks through whatever is blocking your brain.
It is not an assumption that is the fact. It doesn't matter who you are once you have sympathy or/and empathy for your fellows you will do good to them.
You are delusional if you think belief in god is what makes people do good or that it makes you special. You literally have people who have no belief in god doing good and excelling all over the world. Stop being a sly snake and get this into thy stubborn head. Doing good doesn't make you good, that's what the Bible teaches. Stop twisting it to say that you can't do "good" without the Bible. You can't be good without the Bible, not that you can't do good without the Bible/God. All your righteousness is filthy rags BEFORE God. This is like Bible 101. Stop twisting and turning. |

LordReed: Rubbish. A belief in any god is not necessary to do good. At bare minimum empathy and sympathy for the human condition is what is needed and cuts across belief or nonbelief. Stop deceiving yourself into thinking your particular belief makes you special. This one doesn't know the meaning of "good". He doesn't know that doing good doesn't make you a good person. |

OluwaLina1: Happy sunday nairalanders. I moved to a new area(Student area) and decided to attend a nearby church.
These are what I noticed.
-- I was the only one that used scarf.Even the choristers and the female ministers didn't use scarf.
--Almost all the female members are putting on trousers, ladies that put on gowns/skirt are not up to 20%. I was even surprised that the two female ministers and the female choristers also put on trouser to climb the church alter.
--During prayer intersection,I noticed everybody were praying in tongues and it seems am the only person not filled with the holy spirit to speak in tongues. Even when we were asked to pray on our offering, people still prayed in tongues.
And it just seems I'm odd among them or is it that am not modernized? Stand fast on the Rock. |

Racoon: The euphoria behind fuel subsidy removal is dawning on general outlook of life in Nigeria today. This is a necessary evil we could have avoided many years ago, but the demons in the present government made it look as if it was not an existent policy, hence demonised the then govt. Today, they want to look like saints? No way! Do you imagine that removing it earlier would make pump prices unchanged? Won't you wail at every change? Are you not aware that it's no longer affordable? |

LordReed: There was no attempt to force anything. She was the one who brought the case to the Supreme Court preemptively, nobody attempted to victimise her. She wasn't even a website designerwhen she brought the suit.
Of course any workman can reject work but when you begin to make it known that you reject work based on religion what do you think that does to the fabric of a multi religious society? Do you think we need more of these kinds of divisive issues?
Besides it's ridiculous to say that LGBTQ folk should only be served by other LGBTQ folk, sexual orientation is not something one places a sign on the forehead and walk about with. How does it make sense for a waiter or a cashier to be concerned with the sexual orientation of the person they are serving? I have never heard a Christian say I won't buy an Apple product because the CEO is guy and my money is going to be part of what pays his salary. How do you even know if the bread you bought this money is paying some LGBTQ person? This case is just an arbitrary point for discrimination to make yourselves feel good about your religion. You are a liar like your father the devil. This lady is not interested in creating marriage announcements because same-sex couples would be "inconsistent" with her Christian beliefs. Her job is very peculiar. It has to do with speech, publicity, PR, updating the web. Why should a Christian be forced to build and maintain a gay website. It directly connects with her having to propagate LGBTQ messages and pictures etc. Stop this your snake behavior. The job is different from general work that doesn't touch on LGBTQ. A waiter, cook, driver, production company can do things generally for thousands and millions of people. It's same product to everyone, not a gay website. Use this God given brain reed. |

IMO this is why a secular state is so important especially in multi religious and multi cultural society so that we don't get people using their religion to discriminate against others. Be sensible, humans are not robots. They have emotions. You can't expect everyone to be able to be stoic. Why must someone be forced to promote something that he/she hates in the name of being correct and woke? Would you take a job that is against your country? Most likely no, you'll reasonably say.But God is not that important for you, sorry, God is important to billions of other people. |
