donttryme: You don't seems to understand my position on this matter. I did not put this here for opinions, rather i simply post my resolve. I spent money in the church in tune of millions since i joined despite when i can not boast of 10k in my name. What is difficult for the same church to help with 25k even if it means borrowing from them? What guarantee did you have that another branch or denomination will be different? Put yourself in my shoes and you will understand where i am coming from please. Let me ask you this question, can a pastor lost his grandmom and the church will not contribute to make the burial a success? Exactly why i said that people's behaviour should not make you leave church. If you don't like the location, find another. You really cannot be that unfortunate. It's of course your decision to make, i only gave you what Jesus did and will do. |

Porksupplyib: This is just a deviation , i am not here to either support the OPs refusal to go to church or to go against it. However the church is not "God's house" as you put it. That is the mistake we Christians make. And it is unfortunately a huge one.(that is the reason we spend billions building massive cathedrals )
The church is the people. it is the congregation of people who come together to fellowship in one spirit under Christ.
The place of worship is of little or no significance. It may be a shed at the back of a house, under a tree, or anywhere. "Where ever 2 or more are gathered in my name....."
We are not practicing judaism. It was then that we had the temples where God's presense resided(the holies of holies). And when we had the Levites. That was then.
Stop mixing the 2 religions. Learn the differences. Jesus called the church my Father's house. The church is also called the Body of Christ. This is exactly how i put it. |

donttryme: Its true, no one has the power to stop me from going to church. But i can't sit back and watch people play over my intelligence.
I'm just a human and not Jesus christ. Stop the comparasion please Choices like which one? I stated clearly that i can not continue to enrich few individuals which did not care about me and can not offer a little help when i need them most, i also added that some things are going on the church which i am not comfortable with. They don't need to play on your intelligence, use your intelligence. A christian is a follower of Jesus Christ, he looks to Jesus as his example. Your choices include moving to a different branch of the church or a different denomination. It's not a cult is it? |

budaatum: Paul, who is widely accepted as the author of Corinthians, read a lot of philosophy, and that's why his work is worth reading.
Jesus learnt in Egypt and that's why he was so wise. Lolz, i did not tell you not to read. i said that at the end of your reading, the conclusion remains that Jesus is the solid foundation on which to build. BTW, your personal opinion on why you read Paul remains personal opinion. All the 66 books of the Bible are well read and worth reading, not because of Egypt or philosophy but because they give life. Life that all the philosophers in the world can't can. |

Depending on how you see church. If you see it as your father's house and inheritance, no one can stop you going to church. You can imagine the frustrations and hypocrisy Jesus had to cope with as He went to the temple and the synagogues every sabbath day. And He had to listen to the drabbest, dead, hypocritical, cringeworthy sermons for about 30years. You have easier choices today as there are different branches and denominations to choose from. |

Maynmann: That’s olaa problem, I mentioned a pastor not olaa father. Many people mention the pastor name everyday.
Because you took a pastor as your “father” does that mean you should now abuse my own father? Why don’t you ask me of a mentor that i also regard as my “father” also. You and your god are dullards. So if i take tinubu as my “father”, i should be fighting anyone that abuses/criticizes the President? Kumuyi pikin lol
I hope you don’t have issues with family also LoLz, you obviously can't take what you dish out. Clown QED. |

Maynmann: Olaa should tell me that, why are you guessing for him that “some Christians rate their pastors more than their mothers”.
I don’t have a problem with family, i just don’t like it when people can’t take what they dish out.
Once again I mentioned a pastor name, I don’t care if he is mentor or not, I didn’t mention his family. Olaa is my very good friend and Pastor Kumuyi is his father. You should be apologizing to him for comparing his father to a rapist, in some weird attempt to make a point. You obviously can't take what you dish out. You don't care, you should. At least use that God given brain logically. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Human Life Valuable? by Image123(m): 3:28pm On Jun 26, 2023 |
Maynmann: i was not talking to you.
Is a mentor the same as family? Where did I mention olaa family? Ohhhh, i seeee, poor me. You have issues with the family. Now was Olaa talking to you or to little reed? Why so emotional? Are you not aware that there are some Christians that rate, love and obey their pastors more than their immediate family? Have you never seen people who don't love or regard their biological parents? Don't you know that Kumuyi is Olaa's father? Why do you have no problem comparing his father's life to a rapist. But you are all teary eyed when i compared my lovely abundant life with your dear mummy's? Stop thinking analogue, use some sense and perspective. |

Kumuyi is not anyone’s family here, I don’t know why you bringing my mother into it. The family and drink of that rapist will value that rapist live over kumuyi, and they may even be Christians.
You have already proven the point i want. Your question came out of your anus i presume, better than nowhere. Whose life do you think is more valuable to me, Kumuyi or the rapist? Whose life is more valuable to you, my life or your mother's? Or is your mom's life not human life? Why do you feel different about your family but you are okay to mention Olaa's mentor whom he might even rever and hold as family? Answer objectively. |

Tinubu is a proxy He does not even know what is happening i know that only my dear SEast and maybe some SSouth people would have a problem with this. It's the Nigeria project by the Nigerian government, not tribal leaders. Airports can be named after prominent Nigerians, same as currency notes. Everyone should wait for their turn. MMIA in Lagos is not named after a Lagos person or SWest person. Same with NAzikwe airport in Abuja. It's not compulsory to wail and complain. |

Bvlgari: Is 6months enough or too early for a widow to start dating? Her late husband died in a hotel on top of his sidechick. Immediately after death, a spouse is immediately free from the law of the fellow spouse and can marry. However, out of love and respect for others, culture, perception, religion, family etc, the spouse can give some time. Six months is good enough, not too early. The spouse's place of work probably replaced him the next week/day depending. His family also counted him as dead and one who they can make gain from 100% the same day he died. |

Hypothetically, a christian will not like anyone to die, nonetheless, Kumuyi's death will be more profitable. He's going to Heaven most likely, he's old and accomplished. On the other hand, your rapist friend is on the way to eternal hell. Sad. Now after your fallacious diversion, can you help little reed riding hood answer the elephant question in the room? |
