He is a slow learn. Don't rush through the alphabets. Teach him using the 'play way' method. Use videos for kids from YouTube to teach the alphabets using songs. He learns fast that way.
And more importantly, allow a different person to teach him; not you or mummy. That way he would be more attentive.
