almondjoy:Young lady,46 was when I arrived in the UK,I didn't tell you how old I am now. No need to tell you, just bear in mind I have daughters your age! |
@Debosky It is Jackal, pure and simple. Is it because he stopped cursing? That's all part of his "disguise" No mind am-Jackal/Cougar/Jegenne/slimgene/reyes4ever-they are all the same! As Bola Ige would say,the 5 leprous fingers of the same hand Like I said, its all part of the fun in NL.I was recently banned as both 4play and I-man and I came up with G.W Bush.I spend some much time defending Bush,I thought as might as well start calling myself Bush! I neva reach Jackal 5 usernames but I am on my way.Kit has been doubling as Razzorr and Loyika as MC Omo. I even heard Folahann is Vieira. Seriously,I have known Cougar was Jackal ever since he started miraculously appearing every time Jackal is banned. The mannerism, sans invectives, are still the same. |
Many people don't know Robert Fisk.I remember him coming on radio,BBC World Service in 2001,to state that Kandahar will not fall to the Northern Alliance and if it did,it will take many months. 4 days later Kandahar fell without much of a fight. The man is a tendentious pundit given to glib idiocy. |
doyindamus:I heard something similar in relation to the building of the Ikot Abasi ALSCON smelter. They couldn't figure out how to transport some of the equipment to the site once they had imported it into Nigeria.Something about the bridge in the area having a steel structure above it that was too low to allow transit. ![]() |
adamugo:Na true! How you go fund am? You go pluck money from trees? |
debosky:While it may be uneconomical? If $4bn was spent on gas power generation stations alone,it should yield an extra 6000MW of power. It is clearly uneconomical. Visible changes? Sure, but at what price? It is quite clear that we are not getting value for money. To spend $10bn overall and barely boast of "visible changes" is risible.Of course,if you spend billions of dollars, there will always be changes but the changes must be commensurate with the amount spent. On a final note, maybe the money has not been commensurate with improvement, but nevertheless, Obj moved things from 1,600 to 3,200MW in his time, that should be noted.Mark Twain said, figures lie and liars figure .Nigeria's power output was not 1600MW when OBJ ascended into power. That's ridiculous. The OBJ administration has been spinning this tale to excuse their waste.I don't know what the exact figures where but it was around 2,400 MW at the beginning of 1999 |
An excellent article on the issue: Having spent some $6 billion on failing to attain an initial target of 4,000MW by revamping older power stations and the construction of new ones between 1999 and 2004, the federal government with the urging of Liyel Imoke who was Minister of Power and Steel, then decided to embark on the colossal National Integrated Power Project. On the latter another $4 billion, or so, was sunk. The whole scheme was a huge rent seeking opportunity for people in government and the Power Holding Company of Nigeria. The allure was just too hard to resist.Someone was even suggesting here that little or no money was spent prior to the NIPP. This is the eternal lesson of public sector led investment-it is almost always and everywhere a clearly uneconomical way to invest. When it conceptualised and proceeded to blow money on the NIPP, the Obasanjo administration promised to generate 10,000MW of electricity before leaving office.Where is Debosky? He was a key supporter of this project nstead contracts were awarded at breakneck speed to the Siemens and General Electrics of this world, and other Nigerian contractors in a fragmented manner as opposed to on a turnkey basis. A perfect example I was told recently, is the 300-tonne gas turbine which was imported for a proposed power station in Alaoji somewhere in the South-east. When it was ordered no planning was given to the process of transporting the gigantic turbine to its destination. Today, it is lying on the wrong side of the river because the bridge over which it should have been conveyed cannot support the weight of the turbine.http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=101036 |
Quite clearly, any suggestion that IBB was better than OBJ will be obscenely idiotic. However,I did think he made a valid point about the relative income earned over the 2 periods. In the 80s,oil was around $10 a barrel,OBJ averaged $40-50 per barrel .There is a huge disparity even if you factor in inflation. I thought the worst era must have been the Shagari administration. Ranks of the regimes for me are as follows: 1: Tafawa Balewa 2: Murtala Mohammed 3: OBJ part 2 4:OBJ Part 1 5: Gowon 6:Abacha 7:IBB 8:Shonekan 9:Ironsi 10:Shagari |
ndubest:The guy didn't engage in the trade for his personal gain. It seems he lost that amount in unauthorised trading trying to save face for the amount he lost earlier in authorized trading. There is no evidence whatsoever that it was for personal benefit. He apparently acted alone and did not personally make any money from his fictitious customer accounts. The bank said it was baffled as to his "irrational" motives. But there is a suggestion that he did it to prove the system could be broken. Michel Marchet of the French CGT banking union warned he may have been trying to get spectacular results to boost his bonus.http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/jan/25/banking.france I loved this part: When the news broke yesterday morning, he had 11 friends on Facebook who steadily deserted his page throughout the day. |
almondjoy:Na Baba Dibia wey bring me over to this country at the "youthful" age of 46. I dey always give testimony to his work. I don gain US,UK,Australian and Tajikistani passports sef .I am fully legal here. I am "60 millionth" in line to the throne. If everybody for Britain die,I go be next in line to be King. That keeps me happy at night. . . . .thanks to Baba Dibia |
@RichyBlack The obligation placed on a woman to obey her husband is one of those Biblical rules that erodes my Christian faith.Just makes no sense to me at all. I have put it on the "ignore" list. My question really is,what is the point of that rule? Relating it to this thread, the husband has shown little wisdom in his attitude to his wife.On what grounds should his wife continue being "obedient" to such a man? Given all the emotional turmoil he has put her through. |
The poster is a probably a self appointed Commander of the Sex Police. |
RichyBlacK:This idea that a good wife has to be obedient irritates me.Obedient to who? Many women are more intelligent than their male partners. |
@RichyBlack You seem to know a wee bit about restraining orders, any chance you have been at the receiving end of one? Can there be any scenario in which the subject of a restraining order can be kept uninformed about the order? What will then be the purpose of the order in the first place ? |
As Loyika talk,na Hyena dey remain I hear say one "family member" na Jegede or Jegene,I no know which one Na all part of the NL Entertainment ![]() |
Best comment from the Guardian blog: ![]() I'm sure after shagging the same bird for 9 and a half years, the average man would have slightly less emotion and less devotion when trying to achieve that shag once more. We have had our way with you so many times it is becoming a bore. Spurs are a crap shag and they just kept on getting easier and crapper. |
Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has escaped punishment over his apparent violent altercation with team-mate Nicklas Bendtner, the Football Association has announced. Bendtner complained of being struck by his Gunners team-mate in the second half of Tuesday night's 5-1 Carling Cup defeat by Tottenham, but no action will be taken by the FA. An FA spokesman said: "No formal disciplinary action will be taken against Emmanuel Adebayor. "Both players will be written to to remind them of their responsibilities." http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2246436,00.html Imagine if this involved Rooney. The FA will be seeking brownie points by coming down hard against United. |
aisha2:Isn't it unfair to be getting some sexual relief when your man isn't getting any? I think the proper thing is to abscond from any thing that will give you the sexual relief your partner won't get.Have some self-discipline people! |

Big B1:What about the biggest 419er,Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida? Don't you think they should also prosecute him? |
HNIC:This is what you need-http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/members.aspx When you start seeing things that didn't happen, its time to call in the white coats! |
wormedup:Cheap weekly wetin? Arsenal have an extremely high wage billl. They will sign him for free and give him a private jet! Cougar:Don't you think there is a case to be made that his action constituted terrorism? There were millions of people watching and many people have been seeking counseling having been traumatised by the whole ignominious act.It was clearly an attempt to strike terror into the heart of Bendtner and TV viewers. He could be looking at a stint in Guantanamo or Belmarsh. I plan to file an official complaint with the Police raising the above issues. My 5 year old niece cannot bear to watch football again because of the whole incident |
Cougar:If that was in the street,Ade will be nailed for battery and attempt to cause GBH.He will be looking at 3 years incarceration. The man has a history of this so the FA should set an example with him.I was being kind with the 5 game ban but that is the least decent sanction I would expect. The incident was outrageous,I have never seen anything worse on a football pitch. |
wormedup:You no see the Gooner wey recommend Danny Shittu? What about Onyekachi Apam? Is he any worse than Pascal "Baresi" Cygan or Phillipe "Sammer" Senderos? |
I think the FA should throw the book at Ade.It was a premeditated, shameless and obscene act of thuggery!Bendtner could have been killed in the incident. What if he sustained internal injuries and died from the headbutt? The FA should set an example. This is the second time Ade is acting like a hooligan on the pitch in the League Cup.Nothing short of a 5 game ban will do. |
I'm glad he seems to have potential.Compared to the ghost strikers(Saha and Dong),he can't be worse. Saha has managed the incredible feat of strolling around like my granddad while pretending to be a footballer. How does he pull it off?Its quite annoying seeing some ex-Mancs hitting the net in other leagues-David Bellion(Fergie wasted him on the flanks)is the 2nd highest scorer in Ligue 1. Rossi is destroying the net at El Madrigal. Speaking of the latter,I heard United have an option to buy him back after 1 season at a discount price.I believe it was Guillem Balague who mentioned this. Its just that he is a bloody midget! We can't have 3 dwarves in attack(Rooney,Tevez and Rossi). . . . . .an Attack Of The Midgets!(Sounds like a catchy name for a horror/comedy flick) |
I hear say Arsenal send out feelers to other clubs about the possibility of Walcott going out on loan.Anybody hear anything in that regard? Also,Bendtner's beef with Ade predates this match. They say he is extremely arrogant and that even Henry complained about him before he left.If that is true, then he should be sold.Dressing room harmony is vital. |
What will then be the purpose of the order in the first place ?

How does he pull it off?
