See this complete nutter using multiple ids to defend the Bundesliga !!! Multiple ids are for when you are banned and you have no other choice but to create another id If everybody started creating multiple ids to defend their case, this forum will descend into a farce. What a complete idiot. You didn't even bother to change your style.I knew it was you from the very first post.Dummkopf ![]() |
Economics 101! The Ministry of Education should have made Economics compulsory for WAEC. |
hollandis:We too boast for Naija. Its just like England. After all the bragging,we go win nothing. Na me dey enjoy Nations Cup pass amongst Nigerians-I no dey support team we go dissapoint me. As long as Nigeria and Ghana no win.I dey happy |
Long Live Ivory Coast! Long Live Mali-Any team wey dey play Naija,na dem I dey support. ![]() |
Cougar: No mind them multiple IDs folks.I hear say you be Loyika! Dayokanu na Justkunmmi.McOmo na Razzorr-I dey unmask una one by one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |
dayokanu:I see.So Uruguay are a better national team than Holland and on the same level as Argentina because they happened to win 2 Cups in particularly successful period-like Bayern in the mid-70s.This is what they call,"living in past glory". |
Cougar:When McOmo wants to relax in the evening,he slots in a video tape of Man Utd playing champagne football. He even has a Ronaldo shirt. Dayokanu dreams of Ronaldo playing for Bayern. He has a lifesize portrait of Ronnie in his bedroom.Don't mind these envious folks. They would love Ronaldo to be playing for their sides. |
Mc Omo:So,make we simply just ignore his record for France? Was he playing netball with France? Arguing with Gooners na waste of time!My New Year Resolution is not to argue with Gooners on the Sports thread until they drop down to 3rd place. Make I just keep quiet for now.Just know that Pires goals ratio for Arsenal is lower than that of Ronaldo for Utd. |
Cougar:The boy has been trying to convince people that Forest are on the same level as Juve and Barca.Indeed,by his theory,Barca only reached Forest's level in 2006,until then, they were as big a club as Villa,Red Star Belgrade or Celtic. He once said that only a minority of Man Utd's starting players will make it into Bayern's starting 11.That is what happens to you when your club is languishing in the UEFA Cup and your best claim to glory came in a 3 year period when many Bayern players hadn't even been born. |
dayokanu:France no play the likes of Georgia,Lithuania and Faroe Islands? Is it Ronaldo's fault that Portugal finished 2nd?Why didn't Riberry rescue France with a goal in the 2 defeats against mighty Scotland?dayokanu:Given that Klose and Toni have each played 15 league games, totalling 30 league games-its ridiculous to even compare their stats to Ronaldo's.Ok,you rolled up all their matches into and divided it by 2.What a nutter. |
Mc Omo:See this pillock dey spit unadulterated applesauce!Pires wetin? What is Pires record at both national club levels compared to Ronaldo's? Pires never reached the heights Ronaldo reached. For instance,Pires scored 14 goals for France in 79 games-Ronaldo don already croass that level in 50 games and he is only 22!! At club level,Ronaldo is only 18 goals away from Pires record with Arsenal-he has a far better goals ratio.Pires and Ronnie were never on the same level. he has scored more than Adebayor, so ? has he won the golden boot ? did he not turn up last season against Drogba and at the end of the day get knocked out of the race ?That Ronaldo is even mentioned in the same breadth as Drogba and Ade is a credit to him,for unlike those 2,he is a midfielder.Ronaldo should not even be near them in the first place. |
Cougar:Never mind Arsenal.Look at Dayokanu's Bayern this season. Ronaldo has scored more goals this season than the combined front 2 pairing of Toni and Klose!!!! Schweinsteiger,a midfielder, has scored 1 goal in 22 games for Bayern.Riberry has scored 2 goals in 24 games for France(Ronaldo has 20 goals in 51 games for Portugal)not like France haven't been playing "Mickey mouse" nations like the Faroe Islands and the Banana Islands . Yet,one guff merchant wants to convince us Ronaldo's stats are no big deal. |
justkunmi:Let their own boys go and score the same amount of goals.Did they insert a clause in their contracts that they will only shine against the "big 4"? A midfielder scored 16 league goals already and they are mocking his record, yet they can't point to a single midfielder in the major European leagues that has equaled, never mind surpassing,Ronaldo's record. I am wondering whether the likes of Lampard,Riberry and Schweinsteiger have a contract clause that limits the amount of goals and assists they provide. |
dayokanu:Ronaldo is playing in the same position for Utd as Kaka,Eto'o and Messi play for their various clubs? dayokanu:If its so easy to score against the weak teams, why don't the rest just turn up and score 18 goals in 16 games?I expect Riberry to be destroying the net when next Bayern play a Bolton. I mean think of it,if its no big deal to score a hat trick against Newcastle, when Barca plays Newcastle,I expect Ronaldinho and Messi to notch up 6 goals each.If something is no big deal, others who are supposed to be better should be doing even more. |
dayokanu:You are an idiot.Against Newcastle,Derby and Fulham,Utd overwhelmingly dominates possession and can afford to attack in a cavalier manner.Against Chelsea,Arsenal and Liverpool, the games are more balanced and the attacking players operate with greater restrictions. If you look at the stats, you will see that against the big teams-Ronaldo spends most of his time on the wings and almost 50% of the time in his own half, against a Newcastle or Derby, this isn't the case. All the great attacking players in history have a better goals ratio against weaker teams than against the strongest sides. When Ronaldo of Brazil was at his peak in those 2 seasons at Inter and Barca, how many goals did he score against Real Madrid,Juve or AC Milan? |
justkunmi:Isn't the vast majority of football matches played against the "lesser teams"? The great treble winning Utd side of 99 only won 1 of their 6 league games against the top 4.Who remembers that, what about the Arsenal side of last season against the top 4 sides. Generally, attacking players struggle against the top sides.Have you watched Kaka against Inter or Roma this season, compare that to games against the lower sides. Ronaldo was outstanding in Euro 2004 and in the last World Cup.The main purpose of a midfielder is to create goals and he does that in abundance. How many of Bayern's midfielders can boast the assists/goals record of Ronaldo? |
dayokanu:You are a schmuck.Ronaldo is a winger in a traditional 4-4-2 formation! Compare his goal scoring records to wingers like Figo,Giggs,Overmars,Di Livio et al Compare like for like. How many midfielders are prolific against the top clubs? How many goals did even Kaka, playing just behind the front man score against Lazio,Inter or Roma(Italy's top 4 last season)? |
Here is a quote from a pro-nuclear lobby group: Nuclear power is cost competitive with other forms of electricity generation, except where there is direct access to low-cost fossil fuels.http://www.world-nuclear.org/info/inf02.html Nuclear power is not even cost-competitive in countries like Nigeria, going by the estimations of a pro-nuclear lobby. Now,we live in a country whose entire national budget is far less than that of the City of New York-our budget over the past 3 years is equivalent to that of New York City in one year. You would think that such a country would not be determined to embark on projects which even biased lobbyists deem as not even cost competitive. We are actually talking of a country where millions go to bed hungry and salaries are unpaid for months.Yet we want embark on something that is not even cost competitive. Never mind that the project in question-nuclear power plants-hasn't been embarked on for decades in some of the wealthiest nations in the history of humanity for safety and financial reasons.Never mind that for those grotesquely wealthy nations, nuclear power is actually cost competitive in their cases. The best way to develop Nigeria is through common sense economic decision making. You don't do something because the West,South Africa or Russia did it.You do things according to the resources you have.A country with rich hydro-carbon resources and mind numbing poverty has no business embarking on costly white elephant projects. Lets put it this way,if nuclear power was economically attractive in Nigeria, private investors will be lining up to build one in Nigeria. That they are not shows us that, from an economic perspective,it isn't logical. That is why Nigerian politicians, following a long tradition of investing in wasteful projects, want to use our scarce resources to build what makes no economic sense. We will never learn. |
davidylan:This is where you are wrong. The people who build nuclear power plants today do so as a necessary evil(apart from the Irans of this world)-they barely have other viable alternatives in the short term. That is the whole point of resorting to nuclear. However,Nigeria doesn't have that problem in the short to medium term. In the long term, solar and wind energy would be much cheaper than they are today. Then and only then can we start investing in them. The idea that it somehow in national interest to invest in a costlier energy source is bewildering. Who in is his private life buys more expensive alternatives simply because he wants to "diversify" what he has? |
davidylan:Are we supposed to be congratulated because Kainji hasn't yet collapsed? We have had innumerable major accidents at industrial plants. This is a country that has had more air plane casualties than the whole of Western Europe over the past few years . Everyear, hundreds are killed over pipeline explosions, una want add nuclear to the mix. davidylan:We don't need enough to last us forever.Don't think of 2050 in the way we think of 2010.We simply need enough until renewable energy sources like solar and wind are commercially viable enough for us to invest in. davidylan:You don't do something because South Africa did it.S.A expanded their nuclear facilitties at the time of apartheid when they had little alternatives. You don't see them embarking on the same course post-apartheid.The costs are still there for South-Africa for thousands of years to come. In the US where you live, when was the last Nuclear power plant built?I believe in the late 70s.If the US is wary of building nuclear power stations why is Nigeria, which can't even maintain basic facilities contemplating going down that route?Delusions of grandeur. In Britain, the costs-financial and safetywise-has been holding back the building of nuclear power stations for decades but some how people advocate that an energy rich nation like Nigeria with a wretched maintenance culture should embark on projects were even the likes of Britain and the US are reluctant to embark on. |
bawomol:There are innumerable energy sources Nigeria can rely on without resorting to nuclear power.Gas depletes fast?We have enough to last us a century. . . . . . . . . . .we are as likely to run out of coal as we are of uranium.By the time our gas and coal start to run out, possibly 60-70 decades from now, alternative energy sources like solar,geo-thermal and wind will be far more commercially viable. You are talking like as if its an all or nothing situation. . . . .we either build nuclear power plants or we will run out of gas and coal and thus, out of any energy source. This is far from the case. |
davidylan:We have a poor maintenance culture.Name one major project that has been well maintained in Nigeria over the long term. 2. What are the alternatives to nuclear power? Gas a non-renewable resource? Wind power? The unpredictable hydro-electricity?Gas,coal and hydro-electricity are better and safer alternatives.Where do we dispose of the waste? You know the waste lasts for thousands of years. |
This country cannot maintain a nuclear power plant.Look at all the other power plants we have.If you can't maintain other plants, why build a nuclear one? Nuclear is even more expensive to build and run over the long term,so,from a cost-benefit perspective, there would be no point in building one. |
If you are looking at the short term,Nigeria and other emerging markets offer higher returns. The only way you can get the kind of returns you get in the NSE,if you invest in the UK/US,is to try the UK's AIM-not the main bourse- or small cap companies which have higher volatility with the attendant risks. There are a lot of foreign companies listed on the AIM here in the UK that offer emerging market's like returns. Of course, the market has been bullish in Nigeria over the past few years but for how long? I think the best thing is to have exposure in both the UK/US and Nigerian markets. With the prospects of recession, the US/UK doesn't look attractive in the immediate future(though, markets historically actually perform well even during recessions). However, over the long term, its a safer bet than Nigeria. |
In a worst case scenario-where the US enters into a sustained period of sluggish growth-the impact will be eventually felt in Africa, indeed globally. So running back to Nigeria because of a possible recession would be foolhardy. There was a recession between the last 2 quarters of 2000 and the first 3 quarters of 2001 in the US,one between 1990 and 1991-so its no big deal. Recessions are an inevitable part of the business cycle. They are actually necessary to get rid of waste accumulated in buoyant years. The fundamentals in the US are still sound and the US continues to look a better long term prospect than the EU region. If you adjust for the different population growth rates of the US and Nigeria, you will find that real GDP per capita growth in Nigeria over the past few years has been about the same as that of the US.At that rate,it would probably take us 150-200 years to get to the level the US are in today |
dayokanu:Maybe senility don set in with McKren. ![]() Probably,he left Nigeria a long while ago. I remember the extra funding to revamp the power sector dates back to 1999,never mind 2000,under Bola Ige. He is probably simply dating the investment to the start of the NIPP but the FG had already invested billions of dollars in the preceding years. Was not Yar'Adua's supposed comments about the FG's total investment in the power sector and not just the NIPP? Never mind that it sounds ridiculous trying to defend OBJ by effectively saying he did nothing about power between 1999 and 2004-what a defence! |
davidylan:You are actually being too kind! I find it bizarre for any Muslim to raise the issue of the Crusades as a defense to charges of Muslim aggression. You have to be hopelessly historically illiterate to use that as a defence. The First Crusade was launched one thousand years after the founding of Christianity-1095AD.The first Muslim military attack on a Christian nation dates back to the middle of the 7th century!!-a whopping 400 years before the Christians responded with the Crusades!A jihad was launched against the Christian Byzantine Empire as far back as 634AD-This doesn't include the famous Battle of Badr or the Battle of Medina fought in the early part of the 7th century in Mo's lifetime. The First Crusade was launched in response to Muslim military conquest.Christianity had existed for a 1 thousand years without crusades.Jihads started as soon as Islam got going with Mo as Commander-in-Chief. Muslims are effectively telling us that after launching jihads against Christians for 4 bloody centuries,it was unconscionable for Christians to launch a crusade.Christians should be congratulated for showing restraint for 4 centuries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Crusade |
Mariory:Ah. . . . . there was no investment in the power sector by the Federal Govt between 1999 and 2004? Not even OBJ will make the above claim |
If $10bn was invested on power generation alone,it should be yielding about 10-15,000MW by conservative estimates in the case of gas powered stations. Obviously, all the investment wasn't exclusively in power generation but I used the above scenario to place matters in perspective.I don't know the exact breakdown of all the expenditure but we sure haven's much in results. Granted, such investment doesn't entail quick outcomes but we are talking about investments dating back to 2000.In the meantime, the power situation has barely improved. |
Mc Omo:Anelka left and won the Champions League with Real Madrid, something no Arsenal team have ever achieved. Useless Gooners, imagine them implying that a transfer from Arsenal to Real does not demonstrate ambition.Anelka moved to a higher level. Does Arsenal have ambition? A club that refuses to make the investments necessary to challenge for the biggest trophies on offer lacks ambition.Gooners keep boasting about making transfer profits over the past few years,is that not a symptom of lack of ambition? Name one top club in Europe that keeps boasting about transfer profits.Arsenal is a selling club. |
tkb417:The bastard once claimed that Rooney was signed by Utd in 2003.If you are arguing with a lunatic, nobody will know the difference. According to him,Juventus and Barca are on the same level as Nottingham Forest. The guy na pathetic Kraut wannabe.Una dey waste time discussing footie with am.I don exceed my sports thread limit of 1 post a week because of that fool. |
why are u quick to point out his contribution to the French team ?
Was he playing netball with France?
