Maynman:I want u to spill it and goof but u didn't...let me save u dat...u want to say but finding it hard to say that the shasu tribe are Hebrew but no they are not...that are wanderer and plunderer hmas their name means from Moab and northern edom who later inhabited a part of the Israel with the Hebrews...and dis shows why they live and fight over that territory over the years during the time of the Judges agmfter Joshua... Can u beat that is disclaim it? Go on |
Maynman:Even from ur chart...the Hebrew are still different from the shash...so their Yahweh is different from the Hebrew Yahweh...and in language I told u bout the meaning of Gideon which gives regards to Baal...a Midian and moabite God but that doesn't mean they serve Baal but their is wat we call language borrowing or code switching in language...where one language influence d other due to some reasons...so,the shash language and the Hebrew language may sound similar and the name of thier god may sound similar but since their sorry line, worship mode and laws and rituals differs...this plainly shows their difference. Can't u just get it?...people are reading our chats and they can compare and contrast our bases of argument... |
MaxInDHouse:They are not the same person sir...they may both be fallen angel but the Yoruba esu did not play the role the biblical Satan played in the scriptures...if u are Yoruba like I am...u will know that |
MaxInDHouse:I told the guy the same tin...there may be similarities in name...but the identity, character and storyline differs... He agreed but can't just accept as though this is a contest that claps for winners and flogs losers... |
Maynman:U are unbelievable...I pointed out ur shasu tribe Yahweh after u av bluntly denied there is no other Yahweh but the Hebrew..and all u cud say is "And"? Thank God ur own analogy of esu misinterpretation as shown the the hebrewyahweh that I and other Christ followers serve can't be traced to idol or myth even if he name sounds similar it still doesn't mean they are d same...we av agreed to that by the end analogy...any name correlation would av been language error...SIMPLE Let's just cut the chase |
Maynman:No no no...my memory does not fail me...u posted something about Yahweh of the shasu tribe...dat led to all dis...don't deny...this is not an argument or debate...just a conversation...no winner or loser...we are mature...but I can remember u talked about a Yahweh of shasu tribe |
Maynman:Exactly my brother...thank God we are having dis conversation... So,the fact that we are a god or idol dat is similar to the Hebrew God in name and not worship does not show they are d same... And I told u I worship YHWH the Hebrew God... Now u understand why I said Yahweh the Hebrew God |
Maynman:If it is restricted to Hebrews why did u post this then?... Yahweh the Canaanite god |
Maynman:Now y just got my point...esu is not devil but we use it like dat...same tin am telling u about Yahweh...one Yahweh is not the other Yahweh but one of those using it must av bn using it wrongly...but it's evident that they are not the same and dats my point. I hope u grab |
Maynman:Why do u keep doing dis...at the beginning u urself related Yahweh with a tribe in cannaan and now ur saying it's restricted to only Hebrews... Is Yahweh restricted to only Hebrews? |
Maynman:Are u Yoruba...cos I am...have u read Yoruba Bible cos I have...and I don't in church and radio interprete English to Yoruba cos I have...devil in Yoruba translation is Esu...though the name was borrowed from the Yoruba traditional just as how we interprete God as Olorun...but the stories of all thses deity differ but similarities in language names translation shows that they are not d same... Why don't u just get my analogy...if u are from any tribe in the southern Nigeria...u will know wat an talking about |
Maynman:U don't get my point...I know yahwism is the Hebrew bla bla bla...but since that name is not restricted only to Hebrew worship...in ur research u may find other climes attach to that appendage... So,my point is...since the story line is different but the name is d same shows that just as we exemplified with Eshu in Yoruba shows that language borrowing but since there story differs and their worship...it shows they are not the same...simple...u can't argue that |
Maynman:I know but am saying d Yoruba esu and the Christian esu... though the Yoruba Christians borrowed the name form the Yoruba idolaters for language barrier reason...the story line of the esu in traditional Yoruba religion is different from the biblical Yoruba translation story of esu of the Christian Yoruba Bible . This shows that though one borrowed from the other...they are not the same due to believe and story line |
Maynman:U see d difference I am pointing to na...there is a difference yhwh and yAwhism...the "a" state d difference...a single letter or form or punctuation changes meaning drastically |
Maynman:Now ur getting my point...the esu that the tradition worshippers worship is not the same esu the Christians are calling devil...those it's dsame name...but their story and impart shows one was only borrowed due to language issues but depict different character...same with Yahweh of others climes and Yahweh of the hebrews |
Maynman:No...don't do dat bro...just as the name Gidieon means "Baal be praise" because they were under the midianites and moabites at the time doesn't mean midianites and Israelites serve the same God...this are language connection...and I said it's YHWH which for pronunciation reasons change to Yahweh,Yehovah, Jehovah doesn't mean it means any other God dat bears d same name along the changes that's why I clamour on root words which is YHWH |
[quote author=Maynman post=113895425]No where in history is it written as “yhyh” no single place [/quote I mean yhwh...typo error |
Maynman:But we Yoruba to use it for God in church...but as a different root meaning from the one we believe in...but that is language restrictions to u...dat doesn't mean we serve the eledumare or d ifa worshippers because we both use eledumare...or is it? |
Maynman:You still do not get it...wen Christian pray in native language e.g Yoruba they call yhwh "olorun" and "olorun" av another root name for an idol...same with iboms "abassi", igbos "chukwu" and Greek "theos" etc all av root meaning for idols different from the yhwh but it is understood since there are language insufficiency that allows substitute words...YHYH substituted for YHWH and latter for pronunciation substituted for Yahweh which now have root words in other languages that relates with idols worshiped in other climes I hope u understand...it's just as simple as dat...to be honest... That's y the major root word u av to check is YHYH |
Maynman:Why are u like dis na...u are just bringing Yahweh from different sources and different places and background. .can't this proof to u they are not the same? |
Maynman:This is just like saying any other names in the world...u will find the same in another tribe or similar...so,stop this similarity tin unless ur able to proof that the shasu tribe yhwh predates or was invented by the Hebrews... Type ur name on Facebook alone and u will see names that are not u...dats just a restricted forum not to talk of worldwide languages |
Maynman:I quoted it up there...it's wikipedia sir |
Maynman:You are bn clever by half ..subjective and looking for wat u wanna see not wat it is From the widely accepted wikipedia Etymology Edit The Tetragrammaton is not attested other than among the Israelites, and seems not to have any plausible etymology.[6] Historically, scholars have considered the name to be related to the formula Ehye ašer ehye ("I Am that I Am" , the name of God revealed to Moses in Exodus 3:14.[7] This would frame Y-H-W-H as a derivation from the Hebrew triconsonantal root היה (h-y-h), "to be, become, come to pass", with a third person masculine y- prefix, equivalent to English "he",[3][8] thereby affording translations as "he who causes to exist",[9][10] "he who is",[8] etc.; although this would elicit the form Y-H-Y-H (יהיה), not Y-H-W-H. To rectify this, some scholars proposed that the Tetragrammaton represents a substitution of the medial y for w, an occasionally attested practice in Biblical Hebrew as both letters represented matres lectionis; others proposed that the Tetragrammaton derived instead from the triconsonantal root הוה (h-w-h), "to be, constitute", with the final form eliciting similar translations as those derived from h-y-h.Modern scholarly consensus, however, considers Ehye ašer ehye to be a folk etymology; a later theological gloss invented at a time when the original meaning of the Tetragrammaton had been forgotten.[11] |
Maynman:YHWH |
Maynman:Very good...I know initially wat ur drawing my attention to but I don't want to infer so u won't deny...I wanted u to point it our ursef. So,why did u call God story or it scriptures myth? Now let the discussion start since I av clarified sometin |
Maynman:Why do u like wasting time... we still have a long way to go in our mature discussion... I av read wat u posted and I said ur right...I only asked...why will u say dreams are NOT myth and cartoons is myth? Note in the definition of myth is a traditional story that are ostensible. And Ostensible means not necessarily true. So,how is dream not a myth but cartoon is? Just answer plainly and comprehensively |
Maynman:Yes sure...I love ur moniker |
Maynman:Lol.. dis is a mature discussion...I will just want u to proof to me why dreams are not myth but cartoons that was created from men's thinking (brain that produces dreams also) cartoon is myth... Proof it...wat makes cartoon myth and dream not myth |
Maynman:Seems u love my moniker...it means the sense that is pure, unbiased and not subject...not perfect anyways but objective without bias |
Maynman:Lol...u don't need to Google search...I ask questions and answers questions off hand...I intentionally asked a question about dream and myth...and u gave a perfect answer even though it's google showing a slight difference between dream and myth...in the same way...the fact that sometime cannot totally be explained or told or evident to another doesn't not proof it isn't real...cartoon are not real by created in the artistic minds which makes it a myth but dreams also cannot be evident or proven but since everyone dreams we decided to accept it as not bn myth...but still u can't confirm and I can't proof it to u convincingly that I dreamt overnight... Here is wat am saying... The fact that our father formulated tortoise stories and animal stories to us to teach morals (which is a myth) doesn't mean that their encounter with super powers that dey decided to document are also myth... Note...Dreams(not myth) and Cartoons (myth)... smile |
Maynman:Yes I know...cartoon is a myth... I av answered ur question now on mythology answer dis Is dream a mythology? |
Maynman:Tell me why...maybe we could talk...maybe we could learn...maybe it will be beneficial...what shapens ur idea or knowledge about not believing in any deity |
