Omo Ilu Foundation in Ifelodun hosts 41-days fidau prayer for Late Senator Buruji Kashamu It is exactly forty-one days since the Ijebu Igbo born business mogul and philanthropist, Sen. Buruji Kashamu transited to the world beyond and candidly, the memories, good deeds and legacy he left behind have and will not be forgotten in many years to come. In commemoration of this, members of Omo Ilu Foundation in Ago Iwoye, Oru, Awa and Ilaporu held 41-days fidau prayer at the Ago Iwoye town hall on Sunday, 20th of September, 2020. Not surprised, the event was well attended by people at the grassroots which further confirmed how much Kashamu was endeared to the 'common man'. Notable dignitaries at the event included ; Hon. Kehinde Oluwadare (Ogun State's Commissioner for Youths and Sports), Prince Adeleke Shittu (Ogun PDP State Secretary), Chief Suraj Adeleye (Secretary, Omo Ilu Foundation), Barr. Durojaye and others. The initiator of the program, Engr. Segun Kaka confessed that he found it difficult to believe that Sen. Kashamu is no more. He explained that Kashamu's death was too close for comfort, describing him as a man who lived for others. In his words, he said "Kashamu could be likened to a candle which consumes itself to provide light for others". Kaka further stated that he was opportuned to have learnt huge lessons from Kashamu before his death which had since earned him success and on this basis, he promised to hold Ramadan lecture for a decade in remembrance of Sen. Buruji Kashamu, whom he simply described as a legend and hero. While paying tribute to the Late Senator, Prince Adeleke Shittu said his death was a big loss to Ijebu North, Ogun State and the South West at large. However, he took solace in the exemplary and successful life which Kashamu lived. Shittu expressed amazement that despite the numerous battles he faced from his adversaries, Kashamu has always come out victorious. This alone, according to Shittu, was an attestation to the fact that he was another Prophet sent by God. Finally, Shittu lauded Engr Segun Kaka and indeed, members of Omo Ilu Foundation in Ago Iwoye, Oru, Awa and Ilaporu for deeming it fit to offer prayers to the deceased. He prayed that Almighty God in His infinite mercy would continue to uplift and uphold him and grant his heart desires. Guests at the event took turns to tell one unforgettable help or the other which Kashamu had rendered them while he was still among the living souls. They equally prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and aljanat fridaus.

*AMORAN Boss charges Union members on professional conduct while discharging their duty* The Ogun State Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle has called on the ticket sellers who are intermediaries between the commercial riders and the Union to employ a different approach while at work. It is no gainsaying that apart from bad roads, reckless driving and non-compliance to traffic rules, another cause of road accidents for motorcycle riders is the inability of ticket sellers and commercial riders to engage in a civil manner. The Chairman in an address delivered on Monday, urged the two concerned parties to map out a different means of transacting, which is devoid of hooliganism and capable of causing avoidable accidents. The Chairman explained that the rate at which accidents are caused through misunderstanding between the ticket sellers and commercial riders is becoming worrisome. "First and foremost, let me commend the riders on how well they have heeded to the safety rules of COVID-19 as announced by health and government authorities. In the past weeks, we have been able to record stellar increase in the adherence to the COVID-19 safety measures. However, another thing which has attracted the Union's attention is the questionable approach of our ticket sellers in hailing commercial riders to purchase their daily tickets. Truth be told, the whole of this blame can not be apportioned to our ticket sellers alone as there are good numbers of commercial riders who find ways of avoiding the purchase of tickets. The riders must know for a fact that the daily ticket is the guarantee of free access to operate. I equally want to implore our ticket sellers to devise another means of mandating the riders to purchase their daily tickets other than the usually rough and absurd manner which poses danger to both the rider and the passenger", Alowonle said. Finally, Otunba Aina charged the riders to continue adhering strictly to the COVID-19 safety measures and avoid overspeeding. He also enjoined them to obey traffic rules as they embark on their daily activity while praying that no evil shall befall them as they set out in search of their daily meals.

Matters Arising : Kashamu's death, the Adebutus and my appeal to the Bamgbose-led Ogun PDP Exco August 28, 2020 By Sobowale Olayinka Shall I wither and fall like an autumn leaf, From this deep sorrow - from this painful grief? How can I go on or find a way to be strong? Will I ever again enjoy life's sweet song? Sometimes a warm memory sheds light in the dark And eases the pain like the song of a Meadow Lark. Then it flits away on silent wings and I'm alone; Hungering for more of the light it had shone. Shall grief's bitter cold sadness consume me, Like a winter storm on the vast angry sea? How can I fill the void and deep desperate need To replant my heart with hope's lovely seed? Then I look at a photo of your playful smiling face And for a moment I escape to a serene happy place; Remembering the laughter and all you would do, Cherishing the honest, caring, loving spirit of you. Shall spring's cheerful flowers bring life anew And allow me to forget the agony of missing you? Will spring's burst of new life bring fresh hope And teach my grieving soul how to cope? Sometimes I'll read a treasured card you had given me And each word's special meaning makes me see, The precious gift of love I was fortunate to receive, And I realize you'd never want to see me grieve. Shall summer's warm brilliant sun bring new light, And free my anguished mind of its terrible plight? Will its gentle breezes chase grief's dark clouds away, And show me a clear path towards a better day? When I visit the grave where you lie in eternal peace, I know that death and heaven brought you release; I try to envision your joy on that shore across the sea, And, until I join you, that'll have to be enough for me. For all the remaining seasons of my life on earth, There'll be days I'll miss your merriment and mirth, And sometimes I'll sadly long for all the yesterdays; Missing our chats and your gentle understanding ways. Yet, the lessons of kindness and love you taught me, And the good things in life you've helped me to see; Linger as lasting gifts that comfort and will sustain, Until I journey to that peaceful shore and see you again. - Seasons of grief by Belinder Stotler It was a silent Saturday morning. Everything looked arranged to me as if the world would be on reset mode soon. I looked around, all I could see were dried leaves, painfully crying on the ground after dropping prematurely. I thought so deep, what could be the figurative meaning ? After a long thought, no answer came to my mind. I returned inside, picked my tooth brush and faced the bathroom. I had planned to visit a brother who had just returned from an official duty - Officer Taiwo Adebajo. Once I departed the bathroom, I picked my white short and green top. About to exit the room, my little son, Desmond called my name repeatedly, "Daddy, Daddy....". I looked back and gave him what I thought he wanted. Desmond is used to my early morning peck. He wouldn't watch me go out without having that. I moved out of the room and called on my brother, Abolaji Sobowale, whom we had both planned to visit the Officer. He was equally set and off we went. It was about 11am when we departed our house. On reaching our destination, we were warmly welcomed. We had a long discussion on the death of Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju who was to be buried by 4pm that same day. I recounted to them (the Officer and my brother) how faithful the former National Treasurer was since I knew him. We talked about football too. Other discussions found in their ways. By evening time, we bade the Officer goodbye. In his usual manner, he escorted us to a junction near our house. We stopped and bought some oranges. As we were about to continue the stroll, we saw our friends and decided to exchange pleasantries. One thing led to the other and we were offered a seat. There, the tragic news met us. The phone call which has caused me so much trauma. The speaker said in a sorrowful voice, "Oga don mud". I was destabilised. I was grieved. It looked to me like the world would end soon. I remembered the dry leaves I saw in the morning. I recalled the morning feelings. Oh ! Could this be the tragic thing awaiting me? Maybe! My brother, Abolaji Sobowale wept from that junction to our house. He didn't mind who was looking at him. Even though it was on a lockdown day and some of the shops didn't open, those who opened knew something terrible had happened to warrant Impact crying profusely. My legs were shaking. I was feeling serious cold. I managed to stand up, alongside Officer Adebajo. I received different calls with same question, "Is Kashamu truly dead ?". My lips became too heavy. I couldn't reply. Much as I tried holding it, I eventually broke down in tears. A mighty tree has fallen. "Alaanu Mekunnu" as he was fondly called was gone, the "Authority" has waved goodbye to the world. It was indeed a black Saturday in Ogun State. All through the night, I lost sleep. The memories we shared with him kept tormenting me peacefully. I asked in the silence of my heart, "could it be a joke ?". Will there be a rejoinder soon to debunk it ? No. It's all true. Senator Prince Buruji Kashamu had left us at a wrong time. On Sunday morning, we (Impact, Myself and Officer Adebajo) were in Ijebu Igbo before the arrival of his remains. A mammoth crowd awaiting his body and to confirm if he was truly dead as many were still in disbelief. Not long, an entourage arrived. I looked closely, anticipating Kashamu to come down in his usual manner and acknowledge cheers from the crowd. The crowd chanted, "Kashamu dide ! Kashamu dide ! Alaanu Mekunnu dide !!! (Kashamu, stand up, Kashamu stand up, Alaanu Mekunnu, stand up). They wanted to see him on his feet again. Nobody would have thought of Kashamu's death in twenty years to come. It came as a rude shock. Baba Sherifat was buried according to Islamic rites in his Ijebu Igbo countryhome and there, everything ended for a man who dedicated his life to love and justice for his fellow human beings. In his lifetime, Kashamu was a such a cheerful and invigorating presence that one cannot easily forget his daunting historic tasks he set for himself. He single handedly fought impunity to a standstill in Ogun PDP, despite that it was a cause very hard to accomplish, he won. Through his own suffering, Kashamu became more alive to the plight and suffering of others. His life's work was not to champion those with wealth or power or connections. Rather, it was to give a voice to those who were not heard and give hope to the hopeless. He was an icon of humanity. While he was seen by his fiercest critics as partisan lighting rod, that is not the prism through which many like me saw him. He was a product of an age when the joy and nobility of politics prevented differences of Party and philosophy from becoming barriers to cooperation and mutual respect - a time when adversaries still saw each other as patriots. His was not a do-or- die affair. He was always of the opinion that once someone attains a leadership position, others must support to ensure he succeeds. He identified this as the only way to earn progress. Indeed, he came, he saw and he conquered. Let me borrow the words of Senator Amosun in his tribue to the Late Senator, "Love him or hate him, Senator Kashamu cannot be easily ignored". It's hard to say goodbye, it's hard to carry on with politics without the presence of the "Authority". Sadly, it is the end of an era. Days after his death, a video surfaced online. It contained the video record of the phone conversation between the late Senator and billionaire lotto merchant, Chief Kessington Adebutu. I watched with dismay, how a supposed old man comfortably listened to the talks of a man on the sick bed. He was seemingly more concerned about his business than Kashamu's good health. The video sparked different reactions, with many condemning the lotto merchant for releasing such video, especially at that moment of grief. What could be the motive behind that ? In the video, Kashamu was begging Chief Adebutu to forgive him and give him another chance either to live and/or prove his sincerity. Chief Adebutu's reaction in the video has a whole lot of meaning. He feared Kashamu's sincerity and maybe that was why he didn't forgive him. Yes, I said he didn't forgive him ! Baba Adebutu and his son did not attend Kashamu's burial, neither were they present at his eight days fidau prayer and final outing ceremony. After all, a clear conscience fears no accusation. Only the pretenders will not know the real reason behind Kashamu's appeal. Well, that's more of a topic for 2023. The Adebutus were alleged to have rejoiced over Kashamu's death. If there wasn't enough evidence, the senselessly put together message by the media consultant to Ladi Adebutu was enough evidence. The rivalry between Kashamu and the Adebutus started in 2016, when Ladi Adebutu, who had just been elected into the green chamber moved to hijack Ogun PDP structure. Despite commiting so much effort and money into the course, he failed woefully. The rivalry went from being political to personal and the rest is history. I know for sure, that the Almighty God will judge everyone accordingly. I am appealing to the legally backed Ogun PDP Executives, led by Mr. Samson Bamgbose, to protect Kashamu's legacy. He died a champion and his hard work should not go down in vain. This structure should not accommodate the wicked ones and for no reason should anyone think of wasting Kashamu's efforts. This is what he lived, fought and died for and the only way to make him happy in heaven is to do his wish. Let us know that we are writing our epitaphs by our actions and inactions. May history be kind to us and may reason and good judgment prevail!

July 29th, 2020 *TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN* I want to congratulate you on your one year in office and also use this medium to appreciate you for the way you have been able to impact the life of your people with various people-oriented projects in your constituency. I want to assure you that the Almighty God will reward all your efforts. In the same vein, I want you to know that no man can satisfy human wants as the economists have affirmed this by saying that human wants are insatiable. I therefore want you to look beyond whatever criticism that may arise from any angle and just continue to dish out the dividends of democracy to your people, even according to your road maps. Sir, I want to use this opportunity to bring to your notice a *"time bomb"* in our environment that is waiting to explore and that is the issue of unemployment. The rate of unemployment in the town is becoming alarming and hence the need for you as our leader to take a drastic and immediate action. We know you to be a listening leader that has interest in the development of the youth and thus, we want you to take this into consideration. Statistics has shown over the years that the rate of unemployment in Ijebu North is the highest in the entire state and that this has been contributing to the increase in the social menace in this part of the state. The statistics also shows that leaders are willing to help the youth but the youths are not ready to be helped as the Yoruba will say *" omo to ba sipa niya n gbe"* . Today, I have come to realize that we the youths needs our leaders much more than they need us. We need them to build us and to mould us and to improve our standard of living but instead of us to move closer to them, we are running away from them and believing that they will come for us when they need us. Sir, I want to use this rear opportunity to crave for your indulgence on the above subject matter by pleading with you to shealt your sword and make friends with enemy if need be, so that the teaming youth of this town can have what belongs to them and thereby building our empire. It is important to note that this town is blessed with raw talents and materials that have never been tapped but can be of good use to the entire populace. Some of them have the love of the community but they lack the resources to put the love into action due to their unemployment status. Finally sir, I want to plead with you to please consider the youth and help us to work towards developing them as they are our future and we need to secure our future by investing in them. Thanks for taking your time to read this. Yours *Coker Ademola Olayemi*

Abdul-Jabar is happily married to Ni'motallah and the marriage is blessed with children. In the formative years of United States of America, Britain was the only first and only industrialised country in the world. She hid the secrets of Industrial Revolution from the rest so that she could have an edge in the global market. A young American, Samuel Slater, the son of a commoner residing in England at the time, learnt and memorised these secrets and went back home to divulge them for his country. This was a time America was far behind Britain. By early 19th century, the brave and patriotic effort of young Slater narrowed the gap between England and America. This bravery and patriotism did not go unnoticed. He was appreciated and compensated. This compensation from the government encouraged and motivated other youths in other spheres of life to take project of nation-building as a collective responsibility and thus, the proud USA that we glorify today. The greatness of USA and many other Nations of the World has intrinsic link and contributions of youth and thus makes the topic of discussion this afternoon, the Role of Youth in Nation building a panacea to Ogun state government projects on youth empowerment and job creation challenges amidst COVID 19 apt and instructive given the changing narratives in several parts of the world where destinies of Nations are being trusted in the hands of younger generations with appreciable results. Youth are the foundation of a society; their energies, inventiveness, character and orientation define the pace of development and security of a nation. Through their creative talents and labour power, a nation makes giant stories in economic development and socio-political attainments. In their dreams and hopes, a nation founds her motivation, on their energies; She builds her vitality and purpose. The future of a Nation is assured because of their dreams and aspiration. Youths are the building blocks of every developed Nation. They are the cornerstone of sustainable development and greatest possession for Nation building and/or National Development. The stronger the youth of a State or country, the more developed that State or country. Nigerian State developments have not been as it ought to have been largely because combinations of factors. One of which, which is in tune with the subject of discussion this afternoon, is the lips services play on youth developments by successive leadership at virtually all cadres of our National leadership as a Country. If States of Nigeria and indeed Nigerian states is to get things rights, we need to refocus our attention to developments of our youth population. The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) was established in 1964 and reinvigorated by the National Youth Policy of 3rd February, 2001, that of 2009 and 2019 as the umbrella body, apex, authentic and authoritative mouthpiece for the Nigerian youth (including all Voluntary Uniform Youth Organizations, Faith Based Youth Organizations, Community Based Youth Organizations and Youth Focused Groups with Chapters and Branches in all States and Local governments in Nigeria. For the purpose of coordinating young people towards global standards in the realization of their full potentials, dreams and aspirations, and being responsible to themselves and contributing positively to the development of their communities and the Nation at large. *National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN)* represents the youth of Nigeria at International Youth bodies such as the World Assembly of Youth, Commonwealth Youth Council, Pan- African Youth Union and many more. The Youth Council carries out extensive responsibilities which includes but not limited to the followings; Serving as link between the government and the youth constituency. Meaningful representation of youths in decision making process at all levels. Creating opportunities for the development of young people in the sphere of academics, sports, vocational, and career guidance. Provide opportunities for leading, training through organized conferences, workshops, cross fertilizations of ideas locally and internationally. Active mobilization of youth for social and developmental activities at all levels of government. Serve as leadership training ground for youth. Serves as meeting point for youth of different religious, ethnic and social background. Unfortunately, the concept youth, like all other social concepts are victim of definitional pluralism. Scholars and relevant stakeholders in youth affairs do not have a uniform opinion on who a youth is. This may not be unconnected with a Scholar postulation that "every thinkers even the most abstract one will be deeply affected by prevailing socioeconomic conditions of his days. To Wiki, a youth is a young person who has not yet reached adulthood and refers to the time period before you become an adult. Youth is the time of life when one is young, and often means the time between childhood and adulthood. It is a period between childhood and adulthood or a period of transition between childhood to adulthood. United Nations adopts 15 to 24. African Youth Charter adopts 15 to 35. Nigeria National Youth Policy adopts 15 to 29. As at the moment in Ogun State we have 43 Organizations while if we must count those affiliates to the Youth Council at the local government levels in Ogun State. *Ogun PDP suspends Bayo Dayo with One Million Naira fine.* The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State on Friday, 28th February, 2020 during a press conference announced the suspension of the State Party Chairman, Engr. Adebayo Dayo. Addressing the press on behalf of the State Working Committee, the State Party Secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo said Engr. Bayo Dayo engaged in several anti party activities and also disregarded the National symbol of our party, the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus. He revealed that the State Working Committee unanimously agreed at their meeting to recommend the suspension of the Chairman to the National body of the party for approval. Alhaji Sodipo while explaining reasons for their alignment with the National body said "Ogun State State lost three previous consecutive elections due to the fact that a faction of the Party in Ogun State led by Senator Buruji Kashamu has been sabotaging the peaceful moves by genuine lovers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State". According to him, PDP in Ogun State is now one and united because the State Working Committee members and the State Executive members are now clamouring for peace in one accord - the State Working Committee members and the State Executive members are one. It is evident that Engr. Adebayo Dayo does not have support of members of the State Working Committee and the Executive, "he is just doing a one-man show - there's no provision for stakeholders in PDP constitution, it is either the State Working Committee members or the State Executive members that are empowered by the Constitution to take decisions on behalf of the Party. Only the Chairman can't take decision for the party". On the proposed congress by Engr. Adebayo Dayo - "it is just a one-man decision". The State Working Committee members and State Executive members are not in support of the proposed Congress, "we are waiting for the directives of the National Working Committee concerning Ogun Peoples Democratic Party's Congress". "Ogun PDP State Working Committee members and State Executive members recommended to the National Working Committee the suspension of Engr. Adebayo Dayo from the party with a fine One Million naira (#1,000,000) as provided by the Party constitution for anti-party-peace moves and abusing the National Chairman and the National Working Committee". Also in attendance at the press conference were the State Deputy Chairman, Hon. Boye Adesina, State Youth Leader, Hon. Femi Alao, State Woman Leader, Chief (Mrs) Remilekun Olusoji, State Auditor, Alhaji Ibrahim Adedeji, State Treasurer, Alhaji Moruf Ajisegiri, Ogun West Vice Chairman and Senatorial Chairman for Ogun West, Hon. *Re : Constituency Project, Ogun Lawmaker Three Classrooms cost N16 Million* *- Misrepresentation of facts* The attention of Ladi Adebutu Democratic Organisation (LADO) has been drawn to a false report making rounds that the Chairman, House Committee on Rural Development at the 8th National Assembly, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu nominated the sum of N48 million to construct three classrooms as constituency project during his successful stint at the Federal House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019. We implore the faceless reporter to do something better with the pen rather than concocting baseless and untrue stories. The idea of blackmailing a notable, reputable and responsible Representative to earn cheap popularity and boost the status of their news site is outrightly meaningless. The whole thing points to the fact that the author lacks the required information on how projects/contracts are awarded and therefore, should be disregarded outrightly. Setting the records straight, every well meaning and well informed Nigerian is aware that costs allotted and approved for projects are usually not the decision of any Legislator. To further educate the author, we wish to state that the responsibility of Honorable members of the House of Representatives is to facilitate/agitate for projects in their respective constituencies based on the needs of their people and NOT to award nor execute projects. When projects are approved and budgeted, the relevant/concerned Agency or Ministry after adherence to the Public Procurement Act will award the projects to qualifed contractors for execution with regards to the provisions made in the budget. Laying claim that Hon. Adebutu nominated a certain amount for a particular project is senseless and utterly absurd when there are specified and standard costs for all types of projects. Should there be a reason for questioning, the author is advised to contact the contractor in charge of the project for necessary answers and stop this unethical act of spreading untrue stories. The unintelligent author should always endeavour to put facts together before intentionally coming to misinform the general public. Lastly, we urge the general public to see this condemnable report as fruitless effort aimed at tarnishing the reputable image of Hon. Oladipipo Adebutu. With the explicit explanation above, every sane mind would know that there is no iota of truth in the gibberish being circulated by the author. Yesterday, I joined sons and daughters of Sagamu to celebrate the 35th annual Sagamu day anniversary. It was indeed a remarkable event and I seized the opportunity to distribute helmets to motorcycle riders across Remo Federal constituency. This is to further ensure their safety while at duty. I'll do more of this if elected as AMORAN Chairman in Ogun State. We can not continue to hold Government responsible for everything. There are a lot of plans and programmes that could be initiated to better lives of our riders without waiting for government's input. Igbega Ipinle Ogun, ojuse gbogbo wa ni... OGUN 2019: Court reiterates orders mandating PDP, INEC to recognise delegates, candidates endorsed by Adebayo Dayo-led Exco The Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Friday reiterated its order directing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept and process only the list of delegates and candidates submitted by the Engr. Adebayo Dayo-led Ogun State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in respect of the 2018 National Convention of the party and the 2019 general election. The Dayo-led Exco is backed by the lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu. The court delivered a ruling on Friday in an application seeking to set aside the orders made by the court on the 2nd of October, 2018 compelling all the defendants, including INEC and PDP to accept and recognise the Adebayo Dayo- led Exco of the PDP. While handing down the ruling, the court dismissed the application seeking to set aside the order of the 2nd of October, 2018 and proceeded to reaffirm the orders. The court further stated that it did not give any order stopping the National Convention of the PDP but only directed the party to accord recognition to the list of delegates attached as Schedule A to the motion for interlocutory injunction. For the avoidance of doubt, the court ordered all the defendants to accord recognition to the plaintiffs' list of delegates and candidates. With this order, the PDP and the commission are duty bound to accept and process the list of delegates and candidates submitted by the Dayo-led Exco. Anything short of this wound render nugatory the outcome of the convention. Observers are of the view that the latest ruling by the court affords the PDP to show that it has rebranded by obeying the court orders and save itself the hassles of exposing the National Convention to needless danger and risk of going against various subsisting judgments and orders in favour of the Dayo-led Ogun State PDP Executive. |
This is not Shittu Adebayo of Oyo State... faaz24: |
An economist, Otunba Adeleke Shittu has emerged as the candidate of the Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in next year's governorship election in the state. Shittu was declared the winner of the party’s primary, which held Sunday at the expansive State secretariat of the party in Abeokuta, the state capital. Shittu polled 1979 votes out of 1994 total votes cast at the election. Two aspirants obtained nomination form for the exercise but the former National Auditor of the party, Alhaji Fatai Adeyanju stepped down from the race. Addressing newsmen at the end of the exercise, the Ijebu-Igbo born politician promised to reposition Ogun State for greatness. “I want to contest, not to manage the monthly allocations from the Federal Government because I am already aware of the huge indebtedness of the state to both local and foreign creditors, but to create a conducive environment to harness the potential and resources of the state and create wealth for the people," Shittu said. The candidate was until recently one of the moving minds behind the non-governmental and philanthropic organisation known as Omoilu Foundation.

My purported expulsion from PDP is a huge joke–Kashamu The lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu has once again faulted his purported expulsion and three other leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as "a huge joke". Senator Kashamu, the State PDP Chairman, Engr. Adebayo Dayo; State Secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo and a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Segun Seriki were purportedly expelled from the party last week. He said the action was illegal and unconstitutional, going by the provisions of the party’s constitution, particularly Article 57 (6) which says "Any decision taken against a member who has not been informed of the charges against him or has not been given any opportunity of defending himself shall be null and void”. Speaking during the Ogun PDP stakeholders meeting in Ijebu-Igbo on Sunday, the Ijebu-Igbo born politician said the purported expulsion would not stand. "I find the purported expulsion not only laughable but illegal. The PDP constitution clearly stipulates the procedure for suspending members from the party. "The National Working Committee (NWC) did not act in accordance with the constitution of the party. This, for me, clearly represents a new level of illegality and political brigandage by the anti-democratic forces that have hijacked our dear party for their own selfish motives,” Kashamu said. He said everything was being done politically and legally to resolve the issue, adding that the procedure for disciplining erring party members was clearly spelt out in the PDP constitution and should be adhered to. The lawmaker assured aspirants in the party in the State to carry on with their work, assuring them that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had complied with the court judgement that recognised Engr. Adebayo Dayo as the authentic Ogun PDP Chairman in a letter addressed to the national headquarters of the party on the 12th April, 2018.

*S O S ; A Colossus Among His Peers* Life, man and its existence is HISTORY and for the world to be a better place for me and you and our coming generations, HISTORY must not be forgotten. Man only live within his capacity and give within his generosity but transform the society with his passion and sincerity to humanities. Our society will never witness that transformational change we are dreaming of if we fail to realize the true agents of the change. Passion to liberate is not when one attains power but when one has nothing. Sunday Onabanjo Sobowale has been a consistent hunter for humanitarian services with the passion to liberate good people of Ijebu Igbo from the shackles of hungry politicians who have only in the past, swindle the resources of our precious town and left it in a pitiable condition. Let the road for better transformation be paved by giving our utmost support to a man of his words and good leadership traits. His positive characters and passion to liberate the people of Ijebu Igbo and its environs could be trace to his days some years back in political geographical entity. He is called SOS by friends but do we really know what that means? This stand for SOUL OF SUAVITY. He is an eloquent communicator, a rugged freedom fighter and a silent achiever. These are attributed to his zeal and stand as the motivation behind his aspiration. Good people of Ijebu Igbo, the time has come to work and walk towards our agent of transformational change, the real change. If we sit and never do our obligations, our coming generations will never forgive us. Herodotus, a great philosopher and historian once said, " until you put a man with no heart hole into the control of your life history, your history will always be an illusion". SOS has no heart hole for political corruption. In him, our trust and future is certainly secured. The Power In The People is Greater Than The People In Power. With God, all things are possible.
