The resources could have better served the very families that are wasting their resources there. I can bet that 99.9% of the people attending that church will never personally own ⅛ of what that building is worth. Many of them will never own a house in their lifetime yet you have a church splashing billions (I heard they spent $3billion) on this waste.

Well, it might be a waste to you but a savings for the church. What if they build a 40k seated today and in six years it gets over flooded again and the need arises for a bigger auditorium? With this 100k seater it can last for atleast 25yrs before getting heavily over flooded. So it's wisdom!
You don't look at the money, just look at the necessity. You want them to build a 100k seater with 1bn Naira so that in five years time you will read a news that dunanis HQ collapsed? God forbid. You are pained it was built debt free. For your information, whenever a need arose for the project, the church members are informed and donations were made. It may ache you to know that just last two Sundays ago, Pastor Paul informed the congregation that for the finish up and glorious dedication, the church will need at least 500million and those willing to give 1million and above came out and you would see that this church is not a poor church and a rich church with giving members. I'm sure the money donated that day would reach or nearly reach a billion but it was needed because the air conditioning project of the auditorium and the gate projects was billed at 800million. We saved you guys such details to avoid suicide cases

I am not looking for scholarship, I only applied for scholarship, whether I get it or not there's enough money to put me through school and for your information in all meekness and by his grace, I can afford CU and aside that it may interest you that Bishop Oyedepo doles out scholarship to hundreds of Winners yearly, I personally know some people who were beneficiaries and graduates and those in currently.
I also know personally of at least five persons who are in school now from my local assembly in the village from the pocket of Dr Paul Enenche among hundreds of others and widows that are being fed monthly.






you are pained about the Glory Dome? It may anger you further to know you that, the acclaimed 7.7bn sanctuary is just 5/10 of the Lord's Garden. There is a standard secondary school there, there are restaurants there, there's a beautiful tourist/recreational park there, there's a beautiful pool there and these are completed already. There is also a five star hotel, a police station for maintenance of order in the premises, pastors' quarters etc.

One thing I like about all these is that wailers will keep on wailing. Nothing will change, churches are not meant to build industries, our mother church didn't teach us that, the help we can give the govt is to build schools and hospitals and orphanages and that's any church that can do it well (Some catholic dioceses are now distracted in this aspect as things happen in these schools I know of).

I remember one lady coming to nairaland to say Winners chapel requested for her membership, leadership and tithe card during Interview for a job at the secondary school. If they build industry now, you guys will say they are competing to get members. Everyone is sent to a particular group of people so let's all face our assignment and not bow down to stupid criticism

Hello sir, if he had informed the church that their current location is no longer favourable that they should build a bigger auditorium and that's the plan and the money was donated(because the money didn't come from Ministry of Finance) and he later out of his love for Nigeria donated the 7.7bn to FG or built a university, and the members still worship God in sun and cold, has he not deceived them? Won't he be hold to give account of what he did with the money? Please if the members want an industry, they'll donate and still build. In America and Europe, they have what is called Partners Network, could you google the way partners give billions to churches and there were no criticisms?

Aside these, he'd be remembered for the blocks of classrooms he's built for several schools which I know of, the roads he has constructed which I know of, the transformers he had bought for no electricity areas that I know of, the sounds he has preached to and got saved for God..

The church is meant to be fought so we shouldn't be surprised by these things. Thank God these pastors don't even have the time and energy to reply anybody so they don't feel important. They know these things they are saying doesn't correlate at all if not how can an acclaimed learned person use his brain to say that the weapons of a nation are obsolete and someone is building a largest auditorium for worship. How does church correlate with ammunition provision for the army of a nation?

And the half of the world can't help but wonder how it was possible in such a setting, without the inclusion of the efforts of any external or international construction firm.

As is usual with the Nigerian mentality, many Nigerians could only see the investment as irrelevant and a misplaced priority. The social media has been awash by thought that what the country needed was a private social infrastructure such as a health center, an event center, or a public organisation of that grand structure, and not another of the many religious investments...and I laugh!

The fact is, those who are of this ill-thought-out perception are myopic, thoughtless and lack proper insight. Not talking about the fact that God deserves a structure as big as that, the current Nigerian social state is such that doesn't support or command tourism – an economic aspect in which developed countries generate billions of dollars from every month. Nigerians can spend millions to go to Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem but cannot support the alternatives that are being put up here!

The Glory Dome is now one of the world's wonders and the inflow of tourists and consequently, economic benefits, more than a single private or public business organization, which it will command will surprise many.

Currently, the likes of The Synagogue and Winners are the largest commander of tourism in Nigeria. The thousands of employment opportunities, foreign exchange inflow and investments religious tourism brings cannot be overestimated. I think it's high time we stopped looking at the religious sector as anti-govermment because we think it doesn't generate public revenue i.e. nonpayment of taxes, or give social services, apart from the spiritual growth it focuses on.

Of course, spiritual investments solely do not guarantee societal and behavioral changes, but is there anything wrong in having structures the likes of Rome, Mecca, etc use in getting social and economic growth?

In terms of employment opportunities, the Dunamis International's Glory Dome engaged over 5,000 indigenous construction workers. And it's still going to command hundreds of salaried workers for its day-to-day running. It doesn't matter what strategies used and the way we do it, this country has to be free of the shackles of chronic unemployment.

THE GLORY DOME: MAJOR CONCERNS
My only concern about the new structure is in its safety. It's going to house tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people, both from the country and from around the world, on a weekly basis. But is the structure safe enough for that number?

In a recent interview, Dr. Paul Enenche, the founder of Dunamis International, while explaining how the structure was accomplished with zero debt or borrowing, made a claim of fact which exposed what could be a major concern about the building's safety.

He said:
"There are very few in the world. Then, you are again spanning 274 metres. A football pitch is 90 metres, that means two football pitches under one roof without a pillar. That is a wonder."

Yeah, you have it! An 100,000-seater auditorium without a single standing pole or pillar to support the bulging and magnanimous roof. I'm not a structural engineer or an architect, but don't that sound eerie? I hope it portends no ill fate but my thought is that a structure built to last for probably tens or hundreds of years is supposed to have better safety assurances.

The fact the engineering and construction was carried out without engaging any local or internationally-renowned construction firm also calls the safety into question. In fact, Pastor Enenche said all the architects, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, etc were selected from the church, not even among the experienced private construction firms in the country or around the world.

There have been countless of architectural and engineering disasters in recent months and years, we do not have the heart so wild to bear another heartbreak so mercuric as those of the Synagogue 2014 disaster which claimed 114 lives and the church collapse at Uyo, Akwa Ibom which caused hundreds of casualties.

It's great to move on from the First World dependence and cultural imperialism, which have killed our society, by encouraging, building and engaging local manpower. But, first, quality and safety have to be in place.

If the Glory Dome has passed proper government go-aheads and protocols on public safety, then the new auditorium would definitely lead to a more buoyant religion tourism, and other positives such as the creation of employments, amongst others.

I'm not an overly religious fanatic, but I'm for development in whatever form. If this new investment could dot the I's and cross the T's in terms of public safety, then it's a highly welcomed development.

They were the one that did the roof work. It's just that, Pastor Paul said, the one that indigenous engineers couldn't do, they were trained by these foreign contractors and if the same facility is to be made again, it could be done fully by Nigerians. Hope you understood what I mean?

You should expect such in a location of wealth like Abuja (COZA etc or Dunamis-though they don't take seeds except a need arises and not in dollars) or Portharcourt and wealthy churches in Lagos and Warri
