Many people need money like right now. They are looking for daily bread. That's why job will remain more appealing. Business is considered when you start thinking about the future and you know you may have to suffer now to get the higher reward later.

I like the way the article focused on some specific markets in Nigeria and talked about their strengths.

Hmm... many youths have seen their peers make money overnight, from Yahoo and the rest.
So every Ponzi seems like an opportunity to join people who are making easy money.

The thing is that.. when these investments come out, it's not obvious that they are Ponzi. Some of them won't show the signs you listed here (although they may show some of the signs but even some real business can also show some of the signs). The fact is when you look carefully you can spot when a business is a Ponzi, and the signs you listed here are some good indicators to look at.

With Ponzi, Yahoo and other schemes that promises huge returns in a short while, I doubt many youths can pass through the pain of building a business which will usually take a long time before it kicks off. No matter how easy it seems to get started with business, you will need to put in a lot of work to succeed. And many youths are not patient. They want to make the money sharp sharp.
Removing that mentality will be the first step to their empowerment.

My opinion: If the underdogs, Osinbajo and Peter Obi, are to get the tickets for their various parties... then Nigeria may just have a chance to get better.
I am also interested in this gotahia.com that you talked about. It looks like an easy way to start a side hustle which has to do with buying and selling, I've been intending to start something on the side since God knows when.

Note to self: I think it's time for me to start this business that I've been postponing since Gotahia can make it easy for me to get started. I have been putting off going to the market to do research... I guess I don't even need to, since something like Gotahia exists.

I believe the thing about the market is that there are more people flowing in to do business. So Gotahia will need to reach a lot of people in order to be as attractive as the markets
