Bruno3000: Halo doc, I use HTC velocity 4g. Am having problem installing apps on ma fone. Kindly help.

What kind of problems

All this issue about roms for the HTC glacier marvels me. Did any of u try the dark jelly bean I suggested.? I have flashed this rom for more than 50 people and non of them has ever returned with any issue. So what are u guys doing. Did any of u flash it? And what issues did u get? I really wanna know

Am sure u have a bad zip. Check the MD5 sum.

Unzip it to any part of ur pc, install Samsung drivers. Download Odin. Put phone in download mode and Odin should recognise ur phone and u should confirm this with the text added on the Odin or the yellow sign showing the com port u are connected to. Then hit on pda then u will be prompted to point to the file u downloaded and zipped. Then hit start. The rest is for Odin to do. And ensure re - partition is not checked

Thank you very much for your responses. I placed a call and couldn't end it because the screen froze. Then I tapped the screen several times, still no response. I think I pushed the power button down until it went off. I turned it on but it was very slow, so I turned it off. I turned it back on, it was up for a while then it went off.

Nothing from ur explanation should lead to a brick. Since u can't get into fastboot it's gonna be really hard saving ur phone. But if u good with add I do suggest u give it a go. Install htc drivers on ur pc then download the adb zip folder, it's EVERYWERE on the Internet. Plug ur phone to ur pc and open downloaded adb folder, put ur mouse on an empty space in the folder and make sure non of the files in the folder is highlighted, then press shift and right click with ur mouse together then select open command line from the option that pops up, then type in this code. Plz hit enter after every line.

That's looks like a brick. Can u start by telling me exactly what happened if u want me to help u

The comparison should be s4 vs xperia z1. S4 vs xperia z isn't a fair comparison. It's like a bear vs a domestic dog

Oh my, that is incorrect! I think I meant to say I tried booting into the bootloader.

Calm down. Put phone off completely. Then press power down and volume down button and that should get u into the fastboot screen. Try if u can achieve this then I can suggest what can be don next

ikare: Hi. i really want to update my S2 to 4.4.2. i downloaded the 4.4 rom and gapps. i then went ahead to root d phone using odin. so i followed the stated steps on installing from sd card, it starts and then say installation aborted. i have tried different kernel (Siyah-s2-v6.0b4 and Kernel_Dorimanx-V8.43) but still with the same result. and after each failure the phone goes into a bootloop. pls what else can i do? thanks

What kernel did u root the phone with, chainfire? Siyah.? Or dorinmax? If u rooted with chainfire then am sure u failed to recognise the fact that u have to check the kernel version u had on ur s2 to match with the corresponding chainfire kernel. Well there is a way to get it working.
Step 1.download a stock s2 rom and flash with odin to make the phone come on, if it still bootloops then boot into recovery to clear data.
Step 2 don't root with chainfire, just flash dorinmax kernel and make u flashing the one for stock Samsung and not cm.

Step 3.boot into recovery and do all the necessary wipes and flash rom and gapps. It should boot

My HTC One S abruptly went off last night and I haven't been able to turn it on since. I "suspect" it's charging because the charging LED is on. And the battery wasn't even drained when it went off.

I've tried fast boot (holding the power button and volume down button for at least 2 minutes), I got nada! I've been charging it for at least 7 hours now, yet nada!

Any tips guys?

Did u just say u tried booting into fastboot and u couldn't?

The octa core version suffers this the most but in most cases the user's of the is phone are responsible for the over heating. I always advice against applications that keep the phone awake, don't download and keep applications u don't use them only keep ur phone awake and This means the beasty octa core processor in the s4 will never go to sleep cos of So many wake locks. It's a nice mobile still, at least best phone of 2013.

There is only one solution to this. If u said it was working then u must have done a nandroid backup. If u don't have a nandroid backup Then flash rom again. Pls flash stable roms

Xperia z is one of Sony latest flagship and a sibling to the monster called Sony honami. It spots some very good mouth watering specs. Including water proof, shatter proof and a host of others. But main disadvantages include non removable battery and battery life. And I have heard of the battery drain on this device. I own a shop were we do all sorts of servicing on phones so believe me when I tell u about phones cos I handle this things everyday..

Nexus 5 is Google 's New flagship and addition to the nexus family. It spots some of the latest specs in mobile industry. Snapdragon 800 processor and the idea of getting timely updates. Main disadvantages include non expandable memory and non removable battery. This may sound as a disadvantage to others and an advantage to others., the pure vanilla Android it runs. To me it looks to bare and empty, cos I really wanna see some fanciful additions not just pure Android experience like we have on aosp and aokp projects.

S4 is to me the phone of 2013, ones more Samsung showed how to make the Android os bring out its best. S4 comes in varieties from the exynos to the snapdragon and other s based on regions. I will keep my review with the snapdragon version. Main disadvantages includes just the battery life not been enough to power the sp 800 chipset or the octa core version. And some heating reports from some users. Apart from this disadvantages the s4 remains king. Samsung turned the Android os into a little human with some smart and air gesture features which includes smart scroll, pause, stay and others. And the air gestures. And apart from that it comes with support for expandable memory and removable battery which is a big plus.

Now make ur choice. For me? S4 all the way
