Rejoice and be glad programmers, we are ahead and will continue to be. We create and they use. We are more than they can ever imagine.U got 2 give designers sum credit though. Remember the templates you use? They did create them and you are using them this reminds of the old age question - which one came first the egg or the hen? |
Or you could open your hidden folder using winrar. Then create a new folder preferably on you desktop now select all your files and drag and drop them on your new folder on ur desktop. Easy huh? |
Hi coachbro! there are three ways to do this; 1) submitting the url to google via http://www.google.com/addurl/ 2) submit your site map via http://www.google.com/webmasters/ 3) linking your site from an already indexed website e.e nairaland.com ![]() Let me know if u need more help on that. |
<span class="style1">Bauchi YMCA Ongoing Projects</span> for the index page and <td height="34" align="left" valign="middle" class="topred">Fill the form below to Support Us @ Ymca Bauchii</td> for the support YMCA page doesn't look good with brown image on the background ill advise u to try another color probably a diff shade of blue. 5) http://www.ymcabauchi.org/supportYmca.php - I select Nicaragua, hit enter and I get a lightbox-type popup telling me there is no content. Fair enough. What pissed me off is that, there was no way for me to get rid of the modal window. Crashed my browser man (I use FF). What if I don't want to speak with your team?Try using Grey box instead its lightweight and cute here is the download link http://orangoo.com/labs/GreyBox/Download/ |
*dhtml:You can use the above but the only limitation is that it is only used with OpenType (.otf) but not TrueType (.ttf) . Only safari 3.1 supports the licensed .ttf at the moment so that again brings us to the major issue of browser compatibility. Rule of the thumb stick to common fonts. ![]() |
phemmy008:javaw.exe works with Internet explorer as a plugin the only difference between javaw.exe and java.exe is that the former runs with no console window. Try checking this path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\ jre\ bin\ If u don't find it u need to install java a fresh. |
Hi HC, You cant control the font on other people's computers. The font will only show if it is installed in that computer therefore i would advice that you stick to the common fonts for your web pages and use the rare ones in your images or flash animation. |
Amen to that Cactus |
allimercy:Allimercy i partially disagree with your statement that joomla isn't SEF like wordpress when u install a componet. When u enter the admin section of the site there is a page for global Configuration there u will find three options that will help you make your joomla site SEF. Further more for every article and menu there is an alias text box which u can fill so that u can make ur URL as SEF as possible. So in terms of power and flexibility on SEF Joomla tops wordpress for me. Lastly joomla has many out of the box SEO extensions that u just install and enter a few parameters then you are good to go!

badesemowo:@badesemowo thanks i only knew of the tp=1 hack but not the admin folder! Coming to think of it that's really a lot of work considering there are a large number of components and modules that when installed depend on files in the administrator folder. One will have to go through lots of files especially for a large site changing the file path in the scripts. When it comes to updating components and modules instead of the few clicks upgrade u still have to go through the "painful process" again! ![]() |
My advice never mix MICROSOFT with open source its just sad |
SMF is lightweight and feature rich compared to phpbb. PhbBB on the other hand is like the "free version of Vbulletin" though very prone to spambots. Vbulletin tops for me due to its thousands of mods, themes and plugins and you just cant beat the security. The development team is constantly updating security patches. one thing though, vbulletin is really heavy and resource intensive. It surely takes longer than the other two to setup and configure but once its up and running the other two start competing for the number 2 slot ![]() |
@ cactus and yawa-ti-de I think designer = layout and presentation .Programmer = codes. While developer = designer+programmer. |
@mambenanje Its true everyone can install joomla but how many can make good use of its features to come up with a superb website? |
*dhtml:@dhtml That tells me you are no longer for drupal ![]() |
@dhtml don't u think u will be working so hard to make ur framework compatible with the major frameworks? I mean every time they update u also got to go back to ur code and update. Thus making u a slave of the other frameworks. ![]() |
Details details and more details ![]() |
yawa-ti-de:@ yawa-ti-de i think the component u are referring to is JOMSOCIAL it costs $99 for the standard edition and $149 for pro. @ dhtml my advice don't try to reinvent the wheel. Take joomla + cb and move on!U can have a lot of control over joomla once u understand its "markup language". You will have ur site running in less than 24hrs. Drupal on the other hand is no longer widely used as most people have ditched it for joomla ofcoz me included. This is due to the large joomla community and availability of a wide variety extensions ready to install. You could also try out social engine which has lots and lots of mods to extend it though you got to dig really dip into ur pockets around $250. |
Kenzy4real:Welcome u in the rite place |

Its only javascript afteral.
