hiroz: are these all novels and are u into romance/thriller genre?..nice to see people that still read books..harry porter series and chimamanda novels are on my list for next year...cant decide between john grisham and robert ludlum...tried to get some arthur conan doyle novels too(sherlock holmes series)couldnt find any..I'd do John Grisham over Ludlum. I think the Bourne series were the best that Ludlum had to offer. Not read all Ludlum's books tho but after reading The Ostermann Weekend, I kinda just gave up on the high expectations I had. Grisham's Bleachers too was nothing compared to his reputation, but in my books, Grisham Thriller over Ludlum's action. #DropsMic |
HouseOfBalloons: nice work. I've always wanted to read a brief history of time but haven't yet. I keep postponing itI have the audio book sef. Was worth it o! |

bushdoc9919: Perhaps the fact that we do not live in a perfect world....but that God gives us the means to cope with that imperfect world as well as the brains to make the life of the amputee better.and the ability to feel empathy for those who are weaker than us...as well as a lesson in how insignificant we are (even the concept of the multiple universes makes me feel insignificant).and even as a warning against the disasters and evil that led to the amputation in the first instance.....then God does care about amputees.See as I dey yimu to your attempt at ratiocination. ![]() He should just make their limbs grow back and shut skeptics like me up for good! |
bushdoc9919: A question for you.....did your parents give you everything that you asked for when you were a child? Now I understand why he doesn't give a fück about amputees. It's for their own good. Niceeeeee ![]() |
IMHO, Satan exists, thanks to Freud's psychoanalysis. Satan is that part of the human identity known as the Id. #GoFigure |
hiroz: nice...you read very wide.seems you are not streamlined to a single genre of literature...I read anything (I mean, anything). |
bushdoc9919: Japan isn't exactly godless....most of the population practices Shintosim and Buddhisim. Those chincs see communism as a religion. Was in a meeting with some and while we were chatting, they asked what our (mine and 2 partners) religions were. We answered accordingly and when it was their turn, they said, "we're communists". That was some perspective for me though. They were cool guys tho' . |
Elmaxcentini: Yesterday saw the much anticipated launch of Apple’s iPhone 6.I'm quoting you just to have this on record...should ManUtd make top 3...or even win the league. Illest jibe ever tho'... |

Joagbaje: Watch how HIV got healed in a Christ embassy church: https://www.dropbox.com/l/zm7qzQm89ZWxuyrDrva8kpIf only these pastors will heal amputees! If only!!! |
iamord: Well I understand your point which is a bit valid . I blame it on the fact that african tradition is passed down orally and there is little written information, but do you know that there are also some plaglarized concept in Christianity and islam?Well, as far as religions are concerned, plagiarism seems normal. So, I'm not surprised. |
Op, could it be a possibility that the Olokun adherents plagiarized the "burning bush" and "divider of the sea" concepts? #HonestEnquiry |
Why is no one else talking (apart from @steadyguy) about the purchase of this country? |
All y'all Noah-Deluge guys are failing to put the geologic timeframe into consideration. I'm yet to find proof that any deluge of such magnitude happened within the last 6000 years. Don't get excited yet. |
Interesting thread Mangam, Had a lil experience farming kankana (what the Hausas call it) in Bunkure, Kano early this year. The harvest was poor and I can't really point fingers as I was barely around and left it with some mallos to manage. I also failed to carry out serious feasibility studies as I just got carried away by the fact that almost every TomDicknHarry was planting it there, so I didn't envisage much problems. Fast forward 3 months later and almost a 100k gone (yea! see milking), all I had as harvest were not commiserate with expectations. Apart from the fact that the intense sun affected some (the mallos didn't want to harvest in my absence and I was too damn busy in Lag, they said the harvest was poor generally (I can partly attest to this as their Cucumber and Tomato yields in the part of the village I got were also poor). I'll attach pictures later sha. It was a real learning curve then, though I later came to realise that it is planted down south too. I intend doing it again sha but I don't have the time these days and relying on someone else (which I have to) is quite limiting too. I.might keep you guys posted then. Nice one Mangam. TL;DR Been there, done that (with no supervision from me coz I left it in the hands of others). It was crazy, expensive, and not as fulfilling as expected. My bad though. |
MayorofLagos: It means sex will be preceded by a question and answer session.Lmsao. And all this must be on tape that will serve as evidence admissible in any law court... ![]() |
That guy who not only knows what he wants, but has a flexible masterplan on how to get it...and is working towards it... |
cramjones: One wonders the direction Nigeria is going...A country in which the map is being redrawn by haramites, christians and moderate muslims beheaded, our soldiers flee to Cameroun in fear of the harmaites, our AirForce bombs its own barracks "mistakenly" and what people argue about is if a private jet is a luxury or necessity. An industry (private jet) that has been funded by money meant for the people, and those people that are being stolen from either in the churches or in government come and makes senseless argument, and block head moderators makes this front page, while the nation bathes in blood in Bama? Quite preposterous to say the least! A people truly deserves the leadership the get! Nonesense!A rather negative outlook, I must say. What will it change if the FP is inundated with the gory stories of our leaders' incompetence? @Topic I would rather jet around privately when I have the means, any day, any time. The key thing is truly to be able to even live above the means. |
barcaboi: alot of teams improved their squad greatly. Chief among them; Man utd, Barca, Madrid and liverpool spending hundreds of million or close to. Chelsea, Man city, Atletico madrid also filling slots. Who do you think made the most of the window and the best buy?Only time will tell. |
its not a rash conclusion. if u feel it is? ok, but pls enlighten me on what any of the beauty queens , especially the past ones done for the less privileged? the society? fellow women? youths? and what reasonable programme have pple, in small ratio or average ratio benefited from them, 2 keep them in the limelight from a more positive perspective.. Cos even if one rises to stardom, and theres nothing u are impacting on anyone, except beauty...*sighs and rolls eyes*...then lost for words. pls tell me, so i dont remain lost in my reasoning.
I get you, but I feel you'd be better positioned to conclude if you were on their trails and not completely reliant on what the media has got to say about them. Last time I checked, the paparazzi in this part of the world gives little or no hoot about those ones that aren't "loud" with their activities. My point is, we can't just conclude like that that they're are redundant. What if they're not but only wanna be surreptitious? It's an angle I want you to consider. Peace |
Vessi: Seun, is Nairaland a social network? It is. Sincerely, Not Seun. |
Okafor's law easily comes to mind...And maybe the Ex has a mumu-button that the spouse is yet to find. MizMyColi: .Maybe he just wanted to express his opinion! |
