The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the House of Representatives seat for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Shina Peller has claimed that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar is very corrupt.
Peller made this allegation, in a series of tweets on his verified Twitter handle.
He stated that unlike President Muhammadu Buhari who, according to him, is 100 per cent incorruptible, the Wazirin of Adamawa is very corrupt.
Recall that the former vice president had emerged winner of the PDP primary election over the weekend after scoring 1532 votes to beat 12 other contestants who had vied for the party’s ticket.
In his reaction, Peller tweeted, “President Buhari is incorruptible and Atiku is clearly corrupt and in as much as corruption is the basis of our problems in Nigeria, #PresidentBuhari is 100% better than Atiku.
“I said what I said. My opinion is mine. Yours is yours. Do you even have a PVC? What are you personally doing to help Nigeria? Replying tweets and using abusive language is not going to make a difference.”

The leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are currently protesting against the outcome of the Osun State Governorship election at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
Leaders of the opposition party among whom are the Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, led the protesters to INEC office after they had earlier converged at the national headquarters of the PDP in Abuja.
Also among the protesters are Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; former Niger State Governor and presidential aspirant, Sule Lamido; and Senator Dino Melaye, among others.
The PDP wants the electoral umpire to declare PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the Osun election.
The protesters appeared on T-shirts with the inscription “The Nigeria Police and INEC are arms of the All Progressives Congress.”

MTV has announced nominations for the 2018 MTV EMAs, including six top acts from the African continent; Davido (Nigeria), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Nyanshinski (Kenya) and Shekinah (South Africa).

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday congratulated the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governor-elect of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, “for winning the keenly contested governorship election.”
Buhari also felicitated with the state and national campaign teams that “worked assiduously to guarantee the victory at the polls,” In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari commended the outgoing Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for “eight years of steadfastness and service to his people.”

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in the United Kingdom has slammed Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, also known as Davido for raising the alarm over an alleged plans by the party to rig today’s Osun State governorship rerun election.
Davido yesterday had claimed via tweet that the: “APC already planning to rig tomorrow’s (today) rerun! Enough is Enough man! They’re ready to do ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING TO STAY IN POWER AND SUFFER THE OSUN PEOPLE FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS! PLEASE SHARE!
The musician, who has been a strong member of the campaign team of Ademola Adeleke, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the governorship election, also shared a sheet, which listed the total number of registered voters in the polling units where the rerun will take place today, saying there was an uncovered plot by APC to rig the return with 812 votes
But in a counter-tweet, the APC UK described Davido as an uninformed political novice whose ‘pay grade’ was lower than the issues at stake; hence, should be ignored by the public.

The Abia state chairman of the Social Democratic Party,SDP, Hon. Chidi Nwosu, has stated that the party will not adhere to the Abia charter of equity in choosing its governorship candidate for the upcoming 2019 elections.
He said, the party will not zone its governorship slot to any particular senatorial zones in the state, stressing that only credible aspirants will fly the SDP flags.
The Abia charter of equity was made by the founding fathers of the state to ensure the governorship seat rotates among the three senatorial districts in Abia state.
Nwosu stated that the agreement had hindered the growth and development of the state.
According to the former Abia lawmaker, “Abia is in a great search for salvation. The charter of Equity has doomed Abia. It has raised mediocre in leadership. And that is what has kept Abia state down.”
” Abia State is the least developed state in Nigeria, compared to the volume of resources that is before us, from both the Internally Generated Revenues and from federal derivation.
“Notwithstanding, we are till the least developed state in the federation. So, there is no zoning in SDP. We are not going to zone any elective position to any particular senatorial zone in Abia.”
The SDP chairman, however, restated the resolve of the state leadership of the party to ensure a fair playing ground in the forthcoming primary elections.
He said that the party will field credible candidates, no matter the senatorial zone in all elective positions in the upcoming 2019 general elections.

An Umuahia High court in Abia state presided over by Honourable Justice C. U. Okoroafor,Tuesday, granted an order setting aside the executives at the Ward, Local Government, Zonal and State levels of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Abia State Chapter.
The court further restrained APGA, their agents, party men, servants, privies or any other person or persons acting on their behalf from implementing or giving effect to all decisions, directives and activities pertaining to the running of the affairs of APGA in Abia State taken or reached at without the participation or involvement of Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu as the Abia State chairman of APGA. Meanwhile, efforts to reach the sacked chairman of APGA, Reverend Augustine Ehiemere was unfruitful.
But, the deputy state chairman of the party, Chima Onyekwere in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Wednesday, confirmed the report.
He said, “Yes, there was an order issued by Justice Okorofar-led Umuahia High court yesterday which removed the current State Working committee of APGA, which I’m a member.
“I want to tell you that our legal department is studying the judgement and we will appeal the ruling”.

Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, yesterday, tasked the various arms of government to put an end to the culture of impunity in the country.
According to him, unless the rule of law is respected by the people and government of Nigeria, the President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption and injustice would fail.
He stated this in Abuja during a special court session at the Supreme Court to mark the commencement of its 2018/2019 legal year.
He said: “Corruption or any other form of injustice, for that matter, thrives in a culture of impunity. To carry out a successful campaign against corruption, we have to fight the culture of impunity, which is an attitudinal phenomenon.
“If we allow and respect the rule of law, then there will be a dramatic reduction in corruption and injustice. Corruption starts with a decision by an individual or a group of individuals to do the wrong thing. It is as simple as that. Corruption is never an accidental act. The person who commits a corrupt act has an option to do the right thing.
“Corruption in the judicial arm of government happens if an arbiter, in this case a magistrate, a judge, a justice or a panel, having heard from all parties and having determined where justice lies, decides to do the wrong thing by giving judgment to favour a particular individual or party over another.”
He further urged Justices of the Supreme Court and judicial officers across the federation to resist attempts by those he described as “rapacious elite” to make justice a commercial commodity.
Highlight of the special court session was the swearing-in of 30 new Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN.

A gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde has queried Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s legacy over the alleged suffering of hapless citizens of the state.
Makinde described the legacy bequeathed the people “as deliberately designed to frustrate the vulnerable ones in the society and punish the poor.”
The PDP stalwart made these declarations shortly after he was screened and cleared for the party’s governorship primary.
While speaking further, he said that any candidate who believes he can ride on the back of Governor Ajimobi’s achievements lacks the compassion and capacity to make a difference in the lives of the common man.
While also querying the state’s N157 billion debt profile of the government, the aspirant said that “It would take the next 18 years for a succeeding government to pay up the N157bn debt which this government has incurred in seven years”.
Makinde said that Oyo state ranks 30 among the 36 states in Nigeria and cannot sustain itself because it has a monthly N10b expenditure and a monthly revenue of N6billion, leaving a deficit level of N4bn.
He said, “The implication of this figure is that the state sinks into further debt every month to fulfil its recurrent responsibilities in spite of increase in statutory allocations of 34bn from oil revenues and VAT of 1.3bn.
“Even if Governor Ajimobi turns a new leaf today and pays up all the outstanding debts owed the poor workers and pensioners, the damage has already been done,” Makinde averred.
According to the PDP aspirant, he has done his homework and with transparency and accountability which are currently lacking and management of overheads, the situation can be reversed within just two years.
Makinde added that “I am in the best position to turn around the fortunes of Oyo state because of my unblemished record as a successful businessman. What’s more, I have no Godfather to mislead me to work against the interest of the masses”.

Onome Akpobome, Ras Kimono’s stepson has revealed how his mother, Efe Okedi died. Ras Kimono’s wife died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness. Her death came three months after Ras Kimono died in a Lagos hospital.
The deceased son, whom she had before marrying Ras Kimono in an interview with the NET, explained that his mother died after being rejected by three hospitals in Lagos while battling with chest pain on Saturday night.
He said: “On Saturday, we went to the beach for my uncle’s birthday. Nothing went wrong until about 2 a.m when she woke us up to change over because PHCN had restored power, she then went upstairs and started complaining of chest pain. At this point, she started breathing awkwardly.
She was then rushed to a hospital in Ogba, a mere ten minutes drive from their Magodo residence but would eventually give up the ghost without receiving treatment.
“Her elder sister, who is a nurse, attended to her and gave her first aid but her breathing was still laboured, so we decided to take her to the hospital. First, we went to Blue Cross Hospital at Ogba but the staff we saw were unresponsive. I was shocked to see their unconcerned countenance.
“When we saw that they were not ready to help us so we left and drove to County Hospital. A doctor saw her there, checked her pulse and said she was still breathing but that they had no facilities to treat her. So he referred us to Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.
“When we got to LASUTH at about 4 am, they also wasted our time for over 40 minutes and by the time they were ready to treat her, she had stopped breathing.
“The pain is worse for me because none of the three hospitals treated the case as an emergency. In fact, I have given up on Nigeria because they all had up to three hours to save my mum, how can over three hospitals in Lagos not have the right facility to treat breathing problems?- None of them even had a stretcher, I am just totally done with this country.
“How can over three hospitals in Lagos not have the right facility to treat breathing problems? This says a lot about the situation of the Health Sector of Nigeria as a country.”

An outbreak of African swine fever in China is proving to be a windfall for chicken farmers, helping drive up prices of the country’s second-most popular meat to two-and-a-half year highs.
With pork in short supply, as authourities try to contain the highly contagious disease, shoppers are turning to chicken as a substitute, with some diners also concerned about safety.
The turnaround is a boon for farmers in the world’s top poultry producer after tepid demand growth in recent years following a series of food safety and bird flu scares. Broiler prices in top producing region Shandong JCI-BRO-JINN hit 9.7 yuan (1.41 dollars) per kilogram earlier this month, their highest since March 2016. “The recent African swine fever outbreaks have pushed up buying of chicken from cafeteria and restaurants to some extent. ”More people might choose chicken now, especially in the infected regions with African swine fever cases,” said Li Jinghui, managing director of the China Poultry Association. Swine flu cannot be cured and is often fatal for pigs. After more than a dozen outbreaks since the country’s first case was reported in early August, Beijing has slaughtered around 40,000 hogs and banned transport of live hogs from and through infected areas. The moves have tightened supply in the populous south, leading to soaring prices just as demand rises ahead of a week-long holiday in October. Chicken is a cheaper substitute for pork and prices typically rise when pork prices increase. Some cuts like chicken breast bones, used in school and work canteens, are already at record highs, according to Pan Chenjun, senior analyst at Rabobank. Anecdotal reports suggested some consumers are also worried about catching swine fever from infected pork, even though the disease cannot be passed to humans. “Although there is no official notice about the [swine flu] epidemic, I feel that pork is unsafe,” a student in southern Guangzhou city surnamed Zhuang told the Media. “Now, I choose chicken dishes when I am out for a meal.” Share prices jumped in August at companies including poultry producers Fujian Sunner Development Co. Ltd and Shandong Xiantan. Stock prices and broiler prices have eased somewhat this month as more chickens were sent to slaughterhouses ahead of the holiday period, said Alice Xuan, an analyst with Shanghai JC Intelligence Co. Ltd. This comes despite a shortage of breeding stock that has already helped support chicken prices this year, analysts and industry participants said. Beijing’s anti-dumping tariffs on imports of chicken meat from Brazil, implemented in June, have also underpinned chicken prices in China. Average prices for chicken meat product reached 11.15 yuan per kg in early September, up 13.2 per cent on the year, according to Boyar, an agribusiness consultancy.

Nigerian gay activist, Kenny Badmus, says the hypocrisy about homosexuality in Nigeria is alarming as the people who condemn it openly are into it secretly.
Badmus revealed that he had once slept with a Nigerian senator and equally had sexual relationship with pastors. He urged Nigerians still hiding their sexuality to come out and stop being hypocrites.
He said: “The elephant in the room is denial. We pretend these things are not here. We blame it on the devil or white people. I once slept with a Nigerian Senator, and I’m not surprised he will be the first to put his hands up voting in favour of the same-sex marriage prohibition act.
“While in Nigeria, I had sex with church ministers who would come in the open to preach against homosexuality as though it was the reason why Nigeria never had constant electricity. The hypocrisy is deafening.
“We didn’t learn about same-sex relationships from western countries. Some of my first same-sex encounters were mostly with people who didn’t speak English at all or ever set their feet in a Western school environment.
“Gay people are not the only ones who need to come out. We all need to look into our lives and be upfront with ourselves. Am I living my authentic life or am I living it to please families and friends? To come out is to confront shame and limitations to live our most authentic life.”

The Ondo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has destroyed hard drugs weighing about 110,542 tons. This was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Col. Muhammad Mustapha (Rtd.) during the public destruction of the illicit drugs known as Indian Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The agency’s chief who was represented by his chief of staff, Femi Oloruntoba, decried the increasing rate at which hard drugs are being cultivated in the state, saying that it is becoming a huge concern not only for the agency but the country at large.
“This quantity of drugs weighing 110,542 tons which we are about to destroy is frightening and demands more reflections.
“The use of cannabis remains high in the state because of availability and affordability.
“Ondo State remains one of the six states in Nigeria where cannabis is cultivated in large quantities. As a result of cannabis plantations, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find virgin forests,” he said.
While commending the spirited efforts of the state commander and officers of the command at combing the vast forests of the state at ensuring that the illegal plant plantations are discovered, he maintained that the business is only prevalent in the South-West.

The Reds skipper is looking for a star-studded squad to bring a long wait for major silverware to a close in the 2018-19 campaign. Jordan Henderson has urged Liverpool to take "the final step" this season and end their wait for a trophy.
Jurgen Klopp's side won their first four Premier League matches of the season to go top of the table heading into the international break.
The Reds have not won England's top flight since 1990 and are yet to lift a trophy since Klopp took charge three years ago, although they did reach the final of the Champions League last season.
Henderson thinks they are now playing probably the best football since he joined the club from Sunderland in 2011 and is desperate to back up their performances with silverware.
"Some of the football over the last year is up there with the best I have been involved in, if not the best,"
"We have had some fantastic players, the likes of Stevie [Gerrard], [Luis] Suarez and [Philippe] Coutinho, but now as a team everybody is right at it and that comes from the manager. Since he has come in we have been going in the right direction and now it's about taking the final step and winning silverware. That's massive for us."
Henderson believes Liverpool's defensive improvement has been key to their good early season form, with Klopp's side conceding just once in their four league games this term. "Defensively, we have been really solid – that's a big thing," he said. "To win titles, you need to be very good defensively, if not the very best. You always know our attacking threat will hurt the opposition and score goals, so for us as a team it's about defending properly and that's everyone from the goalkeeper to the striker. That is what we have been doing."
Liverpool travel to Wembley on Saturday to face Tottenham in a game they lost 4-1 last season, but Henderson hopes for a big improvement on that result.
"Spurs are a fantastic team with a great manager. We have had some tough games against them, so I am sure this one won't be any different," he added.
"It's one we are looking forward to. It's a big challenge. We have started well but this is a really big challenge. Hopefully we can go there and put on a big performance and come back with the win."

The Anglo-Nigerian has left England for life in the American top-flight after agreeing a deal with the Claret and Cobalt
Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha has joined Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake as a free agent after signing a year contract with an option of extending the deal.
The 31-year-old departed English Championship side Queens Park Rangers in April following the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2017-18 season, thus, bringing to an end his six-and-a-half-year stay at the Loftus Road Stadium.
Onuoha started his career with City youth academy before he progressed to the first team and left for QPR in 2012.
The defender revealed that the desire for a new challenge motivated him to sign for the Claret and Cobalt.
"I have always been someone that wanted to go an experience something a bit different," Onuoha
"I spoke to a few Championship clubs quite close to here [his home in Manchester], one in the Premier League, but it didn't quite feel right and I didn't want to retire thinking 'I wish I had done this'."

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hopes Real Madrid will continue to show “respect” amid ongoing talk of interest from the Liga giants in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Speculation regarding big-moves for two proven frontmen has rumbled on for some time now.
Both are considered to be top targets for those at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the Blancos forever in the market for ‘Galactico’ additions. They had been hoping to land World Cup winner Mbappe back in 2017, before seeing him head to PSG, while Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Spain ever since completing a record-breaking switch to France from Barcelona. Al-Khelaifi has always maintained that he has no intention of parting with any prized assets and hopes those in Madrid will remain professional as the rumour mill rages.
He told Marca: “It's a bit frustrating if we're being realistic because it's not fair for other clubs or anyone to speak with our players.
“We don't like it at all and we spoke about it with Real Madrid at one moment. We have a good relationship with them and they respect PSG, and I hope that this is true.
“We respect Real Madrid and their president Florentino Perez. I think it's important for everyone that we don't work behind the scenes.
“If there is something there then it's better that we speak, whether that's speaking with Florentino Perez or whoever and then saying what we like and what we don't like. That's what we expect of all clubs, not only Real Madrid.”
Al-Khelaifi maintains that PSG are planning “long-term” with their star-studded squad, with the club boasting some of the world’s most exciting attacking talent on its books.
He added: “Mbappe is already one of the best players in the world. As is Neymar. To be honest, I see them as the best two players in the world
“Of course, we have the best forwards. There's also [Edinson] Cavani and [Angel] Di Maria and it's a matter of pride.
“The good thing is that this allows you to think in a long-term project. We'll go out to try to win each title and we'll fight because we are obligated to.”
Neymar has endured a testing 2018 to date, with an untimely injury suffered towards the end of last season preventing him from making the desired impact in Brazil’s World Cup campaign over the summer.

The police detectives at Agbor police Division, Delta State, on Wednesday arrested two young men in the area for allegedly stealing cable wires worth millions of Naira.

They also recovered the sum of N800,000, several handsets and pliers from the suspects.

They were said to have been arrested in Ime Obi quarters in Agbor while they were about to transport the allegedly stolen items out of the area in a vehicle without a plate number.

The police officers at Agbor police Division, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the suspects: Monday Ahie and Lucky Jegbefume were caught by the vigilante members in the area, who handed them over to the police detectives.

The police commissioner in the state, Mustafa Muhammad while confirming the arrest of the suspects, said that he has ordered their transfer to the state CID for further investigation.

He said “the police in Agbor were ordered to transfer the suspects to the state CID for further investigation; we have arrested several of them in Agbor communities, especially vandals, it’s not going to be business as usual, except the criminals relocate elsewhere and not Delta State. The suspects, upon completion of investigation, will be charged to court”.

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Babatunde Balogun, has dismissed reports of a plot to impeach Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for obtaining and submitting his form to go for a second term.

He made this known at a press conference in Lagos yesterday.

According to him, “there is no such plan to impeach the governor, all is about social media stunt which is uncontrolled.”

Explaining his absence and that of party executives at Ambode’s Monday declaration for a second term, Balogun, said: “As a state chairman of the party, you do not expect me to be at such a gathering. We have not held a primary; we do not know the candidate yet to emerge. I am supposed to be neutral.”

Responding to questions about a possible crisis in the party, he said: “The fact is that the three people (Ambode, Jide Sanwoolu, Dr. Femi Hamzat) have obtained forms, let the party decide who emerges, that is why we are going for direct primaries.

The implication of direct primaries is that it allows all registered members, of over five million, to participate in choosing who becomes the candidate of the party, rather than the indirect that allows for only selected few who are delegates.”

Balogun also affirmed trust in the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to successfully resolve the issue unsettling the camps of the top three contenders for the party’s governorship ticket in the state and also give guidance to the party mainstream.

He said: “We have confidence in our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He has delivered on many occasions. He is a man that can be trusted and reliable.

“He has been directing the party aright towards progress and victories. What else do you expect from a leader? He has been a stabilizing force that is why we abide by most of his decisions.

“For our party, he has been a pathfinder. Because of Tinubu’s singular efforts, APC has been able to expand since the days of AD, ACN, to date. So, wherever he is going, we follow.”

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen is confident he can take his stunning goalscoring form with Denmark into the Premier League.
The attacking midfielder was on target twice in Denmark's 2-0 win over Wales in the Nations League and has now netted 15 times in his past 18 internationals.
Eriksen has not scored in the top flight since April 14, though, and he is determined to alter that fact.
"It's great to have that form going into the weekend," said Eriksen, who will hope to line up for Spurs against Liverpool this weekend. "I've always had many shots, even in the Premier League, but I just haven't scored yet.
"I'm trying to get in good positions in every game to create something or take a shot, but they just keep flying in for the national team. "Penalties are easy if you score, but in open play we create chances as well.
"I'm a little bit further up the pitch here and not so much involved in the build-up because we probably have less of a build-up than we do at Spurs.
"It's a bit different with Denmark, we go for the long ball a bit earlier and try to get the second ball.
"Everyone wants to play like Spurs. We want to play attractive football, get the ball forward and create chances with good possession.
"My form with Denmark hasn't been too bad, I got off to a very slow start with five goals in my first 50 games.
"It took me a while but I'm finally here. It's almost going too well but I hope it carries on."

England are in need of extra depth in attack and the 20-year-old attacker is the ideal man to step in and chip in with goals, the midfielder says Marcus Rashford will continue to grow into a key member of the England team, Jordan Henderson says.
The 20-year-old attacker scored the third goal of his international career as he gave England an early lead against Spain in their UEFA Nations League game at Wembley.
The Manchester United player returned to the starting XI after Jamie Vardy announced his retirement from the Three Lions, while Raheem Sterling pulled out through injury.
But Rashford proved to manager Gareth Southgate that he can add extra firepower to his side despite their 2-1 defeat.
"We all know how talented Marcus is," Henderson
"His was a great finish. He had another one or two chances that maybe he would have liked to have scored but I thought he looked sharp.
"He was lively and he's always a threat on the counter-attack. He's a fantastic young player so he just needs to keep learning, keep improving. He's a big part of our team.
"We have got plenty of other good strikers like Rashford. [Danny Welbeck] came on and he's been doing fantastically well in training, so hopefully it gives them an opportunity now."
Although England lost their first game since finishing fourth at the World Cup in the summer, they have a chance to bounce back on Tuesday when they face Switzerland, and Liverpool star Henderson is not worried about the future.

The Premier League side are reportedly hoping to recruit a director to oversee their dealings in the transfer market, and their former star goalkeeper as well as RB Leipzig head of recruitment Paul Mitchell are said to be two of the top candidates.
Van der Sar, who spent six years with the Old Trafford club, has gone from marketing director to CEO at Ajax in recent years as the Dutch giants went on to reach the Europa League final in 2017, where they lost to the Red Devils.
And the 47-year-old says he still has a lot of work to do in the Eredivisie and has no intention of leaving the Johan Cruyff Arena any time soon, even if the Old Trafford outfit come calling. "I saw something in the press a few weeks ago," he told Inside Ajax. "That story about United is nonsense. I have, I think, a two year contract. Ajax is my club and I would like to stay for longer. We strive for and want to achieve is very beautiful."
As a goalkeeper, the Netherlands legend proved a success everywhere he played, enjoying spells at Ajax, United, Juventus and Fulham. But he has revealed that he had several opportunities to play for Barcelona before retiring in 2011.

Saraki said this yesterday in Enugu state where he went to consult with PDP members in the state ahead of the party presidential primaries in October.

''It takes a politician who knows the problems of the masses to bring solution and unity to the people. I am here to tell you that we have a project. The country is not as it was three years ago. We are all concerned about the insecurity in the land, the unemployment and hunger in the country. Many youths today do not have any job and the future is not okay for them and we do not have time to continue to wait and things continue to deteriorate.”

'For me and us in the national assembly, it is not for personal ambition, we have continued to fight for the right of the people, for justice and freedom in this democracy. We are fighting for people to be able to exercise and express their views and opinions without any form of intimidation or oppression. We have gone through a lot, I and your son, Ike Ekweremadu, since we have decided to fight for what is right”.

Saraki urged the people of Enugu south-east to stand by him as he plans to change the leadership of the executive.

“A president that understands the issues facing Nigerians, a president that will unite the whole country, that will create jobs and identify with the youths in their aspirations. Without unity and working together we cannot build a progressive nation’ he said.
