Way less bloodshed. Sacrifice a few for the better good. undecided

There's been talks that the hunt for a DC head is still active and battle for the top job is actually fierce. Key filmmakers and directors at the moment are quickly snatching characters before it's too late.

I dont think he was a superman hater, but rather, he was trying to wipe out anything that has ZS on it. Unfortunately, replacing Henry Supes with Black Supes was his downfall.
True. I hold this same belief.

If he was a Superman hater he wouldn't have two Supes project in development. He had a white Supes and a Michael B Jordan produced Black Superman in development. The black one was given more importance, then after some time he'll introduce his white Supes recasting Cavill.

We have him to thank for expanding the DCEU with Black Adam and Peacemaker as well as elseworld hits such as Joker and The Batman. Also for raising general audiences interest in DC with his critical acclaimed films.
We now have two additional solid teams like The Suicide Squad and JSA thanks to him. Teams that can entertain audience when there is no Justice League team up event film.

His flaw was how he handled Cavill and the lack of introducing a big major Justice League character ie any Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter or Green Arrow. If he had done these and combined it with the newer characters introduced as well as an event crossover movie, his reign would have been perfect.
But he's human.

it took me like 5 years to catch up with One Piece...
I would watch like 100-200 episodes then pause for a year or 6 months and continue...

Advice on One Piece: The longer you leave it, the more intimidating the task begins to look. If you take it an episode a day, by the time you're actually ready to binge the rest, you'll probably find that you've got about 500 episodes or less left, as opposed to a 1000+
Would follow this advice someday. wink

ETv in Enugu back in the early 2000s used to do runs of Dragonball, Pokemon and Digimon and movies like Princess Mononoke and Tekken. Our neighbour also had Toonami on their cable so I got to watch other titles like Samurai X, Sailor Moon and Utena.
Also have a clear memory of watching Tokyo Godfathers at one of my best friends' house cos that's the first time I came across the word, "transvestite". It was also the first title I watched in Japanese with sub. The rest had been English dub so far.

Then around 2009, I discovered Naruto and a friend of mine gave me a few DVDs but wouldn't fully get into it until 2010, became a full blown Narutard. Also started hearing about Bleach. The next year, went to my cousin's house, saw the Yoruichi vs Soi Fon fight and was instantly sold on Bleach.
Started downloading episodes by 2013 and was now able to access so many other shows I'd only heard about or seen a few clips and that's how I got to this point.
Mehn, you entered Gold. you be OG bro. Almost a decade of experience. grin Teach me the way Sensei. grin

Saw some English dubbed anime like Dragonball and Pokémon on Dbn and I think Channels. But I wasn't too interested in them.
It was Yu gi Oh! in 2011-12 I really watched. Damn, I never missed that shït every weekday on Galaxy TV.
Those people broke my heart the time they stopped showing that series. embarassed

Never really got easy access or exposure to anime after then. By the time I really got well aware of anime in 2015-16 I no really Sabi anime sites. And most of the popular anime were far into hundreds of episodes I was too far aback I couldn't join.

Na 2019 my interest rise again and peaked in 2020.

The anime with 1000 plus episodes I really wanna watch and plan to someday is One Piece.

Patty Jenkins suppose Waka after that part 2. This one is clear proof that just because a director did good the first time doesn't mean they can repeat it again. grin
Na she majorly fvvk up but I'm thinking it's the script. She demanded and totally changed the crew who worked on the first movie. Only to give us disaster class.

I'm hoping she's learnt her lesson cos WB don't seem to drop her any soon. One thing with WB: once they happy with your work you'd work with them for many years and different projects.

I just hope WW3 delivers a solid one for fans because I'm bias to that universe cos of the mystical potential ie Circe and Hecate. DC currently has no deep magical or mystical or dark arts ATM.
That's why I'm hopeful since Justice League Dark universe is taking forever to establish since JJ Abrams has decided to be unfortunate. angry

Read one ZSJL review that was talking about how the rest of the team had to wait for a straight, white male Superman to come and save them as a negative aspect of the movie and I wanted to tell the reviewer to go outside and touch grass.

I read two full reviews: AP and Forbes. I was surprised that Scot Mendelson's review was the most balanced and objective amongst all of them. Surprising is the fact that Scot is mainly an MCU guy and this probably the first time I'm seeing him be objective in DCEU case especially when everyone is tearing it apart.
Dude only liked Shazam, obviously for its Marvel flavor. grin

This one no be news. We knew WW3 was in the works. My concern is the villains and characters that would be introduced.
What we wanna know is some of the contents of the script.
Most peeps ain't really hyped for WW3 right now sef.

If I don't see characters like Circe, Hecate, Giganta, Medusa or Wonder Girl and Nubia with the Red Head; then Patty and co no serious.

It's not that I trust the critics. I never said that I just said I didn't anticipate any different. I knew we were not about to get another movie like The Batman when I saw the director. I knew they were headed so I'm not surprised by the reviews it's getting, that's just what I'm saying. BP 2 could fall at the Box office sef.
The Batman could just end up as the only Bonafide top movie and best superhero movie this year.
Gutter year for superhero fare.

I feel BA will do well in the BO no matter the critics say. So far audience likes it that's why I'm curious about audience score, it'd do well. Just needs good word of mouth.

That's why I haven't seen Stranger Things till now
Lol...
Horror has one of the best genre presently of not the best. It has some cliché tropes but it has the widest subgenre of content.
Not all horrors are scary. Some are psychological. Some are fun.

Stranger Things is really good. It's one of the franchises I'd say ain't scary at all. If you had watch Teen Wolf as a teen, then Stranger Things is just that type of horror. Not bat scary shït.

I disagree...they aren't kids friendly

The cartoon network versions censored a lot...
I don't watch Dragon Ball but from clips I've seen it has a lot of pervy stuff...sometimes almost Loli hentai level

Naruto too has a few of those, then it's pretty dark and there is gore...
Old Naruto had dark scary moments...even the power system with summoning death gods, reanimating corpses, using seals and all sort...

At a point I stopped Naruto when I read somewhere that it was satanic grin
They used signs and symbols as evidence and I believed it since I saw those signs in Naruto
Lol, true sha. Cartoon Network censored so many things. Since I don't have interest in the universe I wouldn't notice.

mine was from Naruto

My friend gave me CD to watch it...told me it was japanese anime...

for like 2 weeks I didn't bother to even play it, I still used to watch all these X-Men cartoons then...
Cos I hated anime, wasn't gonna watch some japanese shiit

The day I finally played the CD...season 4 of Naruto (the Sasuke rescue mission)
Omo I was hooked, I rewatched it like 5 times...

I had to collect season 5 from my friend...
From there he started gisting me about the series...
Then I started buying the CDs with my money...

I abandoned all those X-Men and co I used to watch... Naruto opened my eyes grin

I became a Naruto freak...
Then a girl in my class liked Bleach and introduced me to it...
I and my friend contributed money to buy 20 seasons of Bleach (pirated version)
Immediately he watches a season, he passes it to me...

From there I got into Fairy Tail, Gintama, Ruroini Kenshin (samurai x)...even got into the Sword Art Online hype then and loved it...

And later on Attack on Titan in 2013...was just a scary but good show to me back then...

2021 Attack on Titan season 4 became my number 1 piece of fiction, replacing Naruto and 24
Bro you were lucky o. I didn't have people close to me who were into animé. There was just one of my friend I'm sec sch. who was the most nerdy one that would have liked anime. I think he liked Naruto then.

But funny enough, when we passed off movies and TV shows across each other I never for once saw anime content amongst anybody. I was the one who had the most CD/DVD library of content.
If one of those werey get few seasons of Naruto then, e for encourage me to buy. We were mostly Hollywood.

There was my best friend then, Pat. Dude was one of the reason I kinda hated horror movies as a teen with his annoying Walking Dead series. angry If Baba no watch walking dead na Evil Dead. Shït made me think horror movies were only about Zombies and Slashers. I just wash hand comot for that genre until sometime around 2016 when I stumbled upon The Conjuring 2 trailer on ONTV. That scene where all the crosses in the girl's room turned upside down. Bro, that shït left a lasting experience on me. I was fascinated bruh. cheesy Ever since then, I've never turned back.
Kudos to Pat tho, he introduced me to Vampire Diaries.

Lol, anime like Dragonball and Naruto is still kids friendly bro. There are kiddies anime as well as adult content. grin

Lol, As a kid then I could read very well, so well that I could even read newspapers with ease in primary four. Na just some big grammars I fit no understand meaning.
I was already accustomed to subtitles at a young age then cos we consumed Indian and Chinese movies then.

Tales by Moonlight is am eternal classic. Wish we could get some HD remasters of the OG episodes for our kids.

I started watching anime as a kid. Just didn't know they were called anime till I started watching Naruto and joined the fandom online.
Tales by Moonlight is one junior kids classic I'd easily rewatch in adulthood now.

Same here. Didn't know they were called anime. I just knew they were unique.
I watched some anime as a kid but didn't fully join the fandom. Ie Akira, Cowboy Bebop.... Also kids in my neighborhood as I weirdly remember now never were into animé. We were mainly into some Hollywood and mostly Chinese movies. Probably why I never fully got into it. Even in school, they weren't discussed until I got into SS 1. Avatar was the closest thing to anime i really followed.

There was a time around 14-15yrs of age when I would have joined anime lore full-time. I wanted to buy Naruto dvd then only to find out about 40+ seasons. Na there fear catch me. grin
I used my free money, saved it up and bought series or movies of interest. Doing the calculations, #100 X 40+ dvd copies of just one franchise wasn't feasible when I was the primary buyer of films for house. 4k go just blow like that when I get tons of movies to watch. grin Na wetin make me hate that franchise up till today. angry

How did you get to watch anime? Was it through DVDs or cable? And or mainly influenced by an older sibling? grin is Zoro counted as anime? It was my favourite as a kid then.

LOTR: Rings of Power........9/10

This finale is the single best episode out of them all. Well choreographed and better written than the others. It sets up next season for greatness as well as major reveals. Finally shows the viewer who's Sauron. Confirmed some people's doubt about Halbrand.
This is the first time I'm actually enjoying Galadriel's performance from Morfydd. I always knew she had the acting chops based on the previous project I've seen her in. Wonder where the charm suddenly came from. Her facial expressions now match the emotions expressed, not the always uptight look she gave off previously.
I'm faulting the writers for this. Hope for improvement next season.

Overall the show is an 8/10. ✓

This and they are also broke. They are trying to spread the release date of movies so as to make money for marketing and promotions.
Why wouldn't they be broke with the huge splashing on HBO's House of The Dragon ($200mn), The Last of Us($150mn), The Batman ($220mn), Flash ($200mn+), Aquaman 2 ($180mn), Succession ($90mn) etc. also Jason Kilar's decision dumping all tentpole movies last year with same date tactics didn't help at all recovering funds for these projects.

I'm still wondering how WB managed to line up so many big projects so close to themselves without potent numbers of small projects with high gains like horror movies.
Releasing one or two solid horror films in 2022 would have helped with some several million dollars of marketing funds.

I had sworn that I would find the weed dealer supplying WB executives for initially fixing Shazam 2 on the same day with Avatar 2.
I thought Shazam 2 vs Avatar 2 was smart programming. It's Avatar vs Aquaman 2 that was the scary comparison.

Shazam plays to a different audience and is a counter programming for Avatar. It's also a family and Christmas movie in the first place. So it'd easily hold its ground.
You peeps are also forgetting this same Shazam had already gone toe to toe with Endgame and Captain Marvel in the box office in 2019. Its box office was kneecapped but it still made 4x it's budget. Especially being a relatively unknown superhero with no previous cameo whatsoever.

That Xmas date would have bettered its chances at the BO imo.

The only big release left for WB in 2022 is Black Adam. Not only have they failed domestically, but internationally as well. However, I have high hopes for 2023, considering their lineups (that's if they don't carryout their routine delays/cancellation) for next year
Pretty abysmal year for WB all round. Imagine Sony having more release than WB that has DC and New Line Cinema. No single horror movie from New Line this year.

Prospects for Black Adam is sketchy for now sef.
I'm seeing a $180-250mn domestic.
True, WB 2023 lineup looks solid, I don't expect delays or moving to 2024 since most of them are already in post-production.

Salem's Lot
Wonka
Aquaman 2
Flash
Blue Beetle
Shazam 2
Dune 2
Evil Dead Rise
Barbie
The Meg 2
The Last Train To New York
The Nun 2

1.1 na play. I both movies grossing above $600m domestically. My projection for Avatar is $750-800m and Black Panther $700-750m
I'm just being conservative. My initial thoughts is both around $600mn especially Avatar 2. It could do $650-750mn tho.
Black Panther gross hinges on how well it's good. But I can say $450-550mn for it.
I don't see BP doing $700mn. Up to $600mn is a stretch for me. But I could be wrong.

How do you see WBs slump at the domestic BO??
To be fair, it has the lowest output of films this year with just 4 titles while others have at least 7 movies already out.
