Lewandoski wey dey always slow down play and can't beat any marker still dey pitch. Match wey we suppose dey attack them small small, we left it for them to dictate the pitch for our own home.
I always wasn't comfortable with that Gundo, Pedri and Frankie pairing. DM don suffer us this season. |

Araujo na very stupid defender. Two goals advantage and he had to do that. He did same thing earlier but referee overlooked it... Now did the same thing when you're the last man.
This Christensen unavailability really touch us sha... Cos this guy's were just moving through that midfield like swiss knife. Na this kind match you miss a player like Gavi to mark out Barcola. That guy needs to be stopped. |

oyaskii: Let's face it. Proper cinema culture wasn't really a thing here, people on here see it as some sort social status climber than actual love for movies, which leads me to ask, are there reliable sources for B.O. numbers from Nigeria?
True. I can't really explain it, except you have a dedicated cinema/media room in your house, nothing beats seeing a true blockbuster on the biggest screen and Hi-Fi sound possible which is the cinema. You'd be absolutely lying if you think you can recreate such ambience with your core i3, 13 inches laptop on top your mattress 😩. But then again, when one is being plagued by the economy of the poverty capital of world, best believe, people are definitely going to be waiting the short period for VOD to drop than spending insane amount for movie tickets
so basically, if your movie is not IMAX shot, there is a very high chance of it hitting apathy with casual movie goers, bearing in mind, shooting in IMAX shoots budget of flicks up, and so, many flicks will fall short, because prod companies are only willing to shoot in IMAX for only true blockbusters
Anyway bro, like i have always stated, movies hit a plateau around peak COVID era, and the industry has been experiencing a diminishing return as actual good movies are a rare find these days. To put things in perspectives, Dune 2 might be the only really recent flick i have coped in a long while, all the others have been flicks i missed out on, from yester years. So as it is now, i am not even arsed about seeing any flick at the Cinema, anytime soon, so i am a big fan of these flicks dropping like flies on VOD almost immediately after cinematic release 👏🏿 ....

oyaskii: What i can deduce from your write up is that, WB has probably seen that DUNE: Part 2 has hit set targets and it's probably the highest grossing flick this year even, so they will rather slow thier roll on it by releasing the home media early, so that GxK can have a soft landing at the B.O.
But generally speaking the ease at which home media drops after theatrical release is baffling, Kung Fu Panda 4 is doing decent numbers at the B.O and yet within 2 weeks, the Home Media is already available...like...back in the day, when VOD wasn't really a thing, a true blockbuster blu ray release was an upwards of between 3 to 5 months after the cinematic run and so the wait was killing, that's why most people just opt for Camrip or TS because they couldn't just wait.
In hindsight, bro, i ain't even complaining cuz ngl, it's a Big W for my pocket 😩 but cinema culture, especially, in improvished places, like our clime will die down. On release day for DUNE part 2, standard ticket was going for like 7k!. My friend went to see it, last 2 weeks at prime time, and could you believe, he was the only one in the Cinema room, that could seat 1.5k people at a least. Back in the day, blockbusters were like 1.5k flat to see, at that time sef, i could use my UNI ID card to see films for 500h, even at then, people were reluctant to even come out, except maybe on weekends or public holidays, compared to now, when the economy is even in worst shape than then.
Almost nobody is paying that high to see films now, when they know there is a high chance the VOD/PVOD/Home Media drops within weeks. Folks will just be refreshing PSArips, Pahe and the likes, playing the waiting game with keen interest and just keep sailing away ☠️ True man. Cinema culture is somewhat dieing due to economic headwinds impacting the entire industry worldwide. Remember seeing AQUAMAN 2 in January and we were like 10 I'm peak holiday period ooo. I'm not thinking what weekdays would be although it's box office collection in Nigerian cinema says it was a huge box office draw. So it was probably frontloaded in the first few weeks in December. Similar experience with The Batman in March 2022. As you rightly said, the insane rate at which premium content drop on VOD platforms makes it even worse for people to go to cinema. But I feel it's economics that's the biggest pain point. If one really wanted to see something in theatres and the cost is favourable or negligible, no matter, they'll see it in theatres. NGL tho, early VOD release has eased one's pocket and the pressure of watching it in cinemas. There's the feeling of watching something in theatres then 2 weeks later it's out in the high seas... shït be making you feel some type of way. 😂 Funny trend I noticed is that normal standard theatres in North America or Europe are not even the ones benefiting from the high performing movies this year. It's IMAX Cinemas reaping the results with about 40% and above gross coming from it for films such as DUNE 2, GxK and co. The hardcore franchise watchers are opting for the premium experience while average cinema goers are showing more apathy. That's a huge problem for cinema chains like AMC, Cinemark and the likes. And shit like this is looking to continue with upcoming franchise films like Furiosa, Kingdom of the Planet of Apes, Alien: Romulus and co. |

oyaskii: DUNE part 2 had movie going apathy too? That was supposed to be, arguably the biggest blockbuster out this year, and Zaslav had that shii out on the streets, barely a month into it's cinema run, in full HD 😭.
The bitter fact is, generally, distribution companies might no longer rate cinema and all it's allure. Football and other pieces of media have already sold thier souls to VOD platforms, and maybe movies are slowly following suit.
I haven't studied the numbers, but it seems distributing via VOD platforms, have a better harmonised financial return these days. Guess I was banned.... 😩

joseph1832: I never said numbers isn't important. What I'm saying is strategy can't be downplayed and it can even be more important than numbers, sometimes.
The first rule of war "know your enemy". Another rule I find more intriguing than that rule is one said by Blade (Wesley Snipes) he said "when you understand the nature of a thing, you know what it's capable of". For this two reason I asked if you've watched Rebel Moon.
As regard the emboldened. Let's bring Spartacus into focus. Tell me why he defeated almost all the Roman legion sent against him, but, when he came against the Roman legion led by business man and soldier Marcus Crassus, he lost. Tell me?
I'll tell you this, without strategy, war can't be won. Atleast the Greeks conquered Troy with strategy, not numbers, no? All thanks to Odysius. Lol I rest my case...

joseph1832: only when you're facing idiots or people who know little or nothing about war.
Lemme ask, have you watched Rebel Moon? Lol.... Numbers is ALWAYS important in war. Forget all those motivational messages. I don't think I've seen a war movie worth it's salt discrediting numbers with just brilliant strategy. Even Roman or Greek adaptations, based on what I've watched and a few read ups, most of their generals always loved a numerical advantage. No one likes being outnumbered and always rely on strategy....unless if maybe you're probably Spartan. No. I haven't watched Rebel Moon yet tho downloaded already. If you've watched Battle at Lake Changjin you'd see what huge numbers can do even in the face of brilliant strategy and overwhelming advanced weaponry. The only reason I see China winning that war was basically because of their numbers. And many of them still died because they were technologically inferior to the US. |

joseph1832: the same way you'll wonder how 300 Spartan spood against the Persian empire and almost won....
War isn't about numbers, but strategy. Errrmmmm...... Spartans were the greatest fighting force the world ever knew during that era. No fighting force came close to their war fighting dexterity. Only probably fellow greek tribes like Athens could slightly be as effective. Still, they were no match. The Phalanx fighting technique was renowned and adopted by many due to it's superior advantage it gave to a small fighting force. They were the crème de la crème of war machines. All their soldiers had been training for battle since they were kids, so it ain't comparable with other military. Being in a hostile environment due to Greek sister city-states ALWAYS fighting each other for decades meant the Spartan army had more than enough experience and were battle hardened. From Generals, lower ranking officers to soldiers all had years of fighting experience. Who fit compete with tha type or beast? It's a popular myth that a single Spartan was worth 10-20 men. So, they didn't have the need for a large military. But true, War isn't always about numbers but strategy. But it always goes both ways. Numbers can still win you a war easily. |

SOZINN: At first you thought it would make over $600 million, now you just hope it does better than The Marvels. From Shazam 2 to The Flash to Blue Beetle and now Aquaman 2. DC has taken so many L's this year it's no longer funny. Nothing bad in predictions. I remember you saying and hoping BARBIE flops. Same L's MCU is also taking this year. Yours even extends to TV shows. No matter how Aquaman 2 performs badly at the box office, it's definitely grossing higher than The Marvels. I ain't hoping. I know it. I can bet anything with you....that's if you're open to it. THE MARVELS that can't even pass $100mn at US box office? 😂😂 Already has grossed half of entire The Marvels run in just 5 days. The Marvels wey dey follow fvvking Blue Beetle drag better US domestic overall gross? 😂😂 |
