Disney is most likely to win the race on final quarter just by dropping both Black Panther 2 and Avatar 2.
Both films have a potential of dropping a combined 1.1bn+ of box office for Disney.

I must say Universal and Paramount especially have done some brilliant work of maestro. Dishing out a wide variety of content and all round genre. Would have loved either of them be rewarded for their hard work this year but painfully Disney is gonna take the cake.
Acquiring 20th Century Fox already made the battle overly lopsided to Mickey Mouse.

The nun movie was weak yes but the nun itself is creepy as f*ck

First Annabelle was weak too I can barely remember the plot. I'm thinking it probably ranks above The Nun. It's only that demon Valak that made the nun worthwhile. The story and how it ended up was pure crap and bait.
Valak wey dem hype as big bad. See as the film weak af. We didn't even get to see the Valak for much screen time.

One thing that made me hate the movie. It hardly scared me at all, with all the hype of Valak.

Judging by how forgettable Annabelle movie is, I might agree with your ranking. I've been thinking all this while that Creation was the first Annabelle movie.

Conjuring 2 remains the best for me in the franchise.

Curse of La Llorona isn't really in the franchise. It's just an outlier and cos the director Michael Chaves went on to direct The Devil Made Me Do It.

Man was busy inventing new motion capture tech to take underwater shots in the movie. Baba wanted film to be as realistic as possible without CGI.

Black Adam doing well or not isn't even the main issue now. So many upcoming projects are stuck either in development hell or the cutting floor with this werey in command. The major problem like you rightly said is we don't know the future. We don't know what slate to expect for 2024 and beyond. It means if not for pushback we for no get fresh project for 2023 asides Blue Beetle, since next year just inherited 2022's Flash, Shazam 2 and Aquaman.

This is one Black movie I'll love people to focus on. I'm doubtful about its Box office success with the way present America is and the racial polity.
The manner of. Emmett Till's death is one big talking point in America's history.

If Lovecraft Country with all its groundbreaking genre bending and superb acting and writing team couldn't get a S2 and lobbyists trying to pull it down— even got some White boys angered. Even the VFX was superb I was surprised the sizeable budget spent on that racial trope. I doubt if this one will make much head at the BO.

It's weird how this masterpiece TV shows (a la Watchmen) of racial injustice in US seem to end up as miniseries even tho they triple rating awards worthy. See Candyman great ratings but weak audience score as well as tame box office for recent horror films.

This same Mississippi and bad news for Black folks.

This is not the first time audience have been at odds with critics. Check the IMDb score, Google users as well as RT audience score, then you'll know it's true quality.
It's one film I feel critics want to pretend to themselves it's that good cause they just love the lore or the director and the artsy style to telling the tale, making it seem very different.

The way that score is so high on Metacritic sef wey dey very stingy is suspect.

Na mainly cos major blockbuster never release since Top Gun and no comic book property for over 3 months na wetin make person dey slightly more optimistic of a very good box office. If it hits The Batman's BO then it's impressive.

But with that axeman David Zaslav bombshell and shenanigans I dey doubt how general audience feel about current DC movies. Any momentum The Batman and TSS had gained for DC seems to be eroded. We'll see how attractive DC currently is to GA this month.
