Nairaland GeneralRe: Lets Share: Your Near Death Experience by InkedNerd(f): 6:20pm On Apr 19, 2011
Hmmm, I think I've had a couple.

When I was about 13 or 14, I almost drowned and several years before that, I almost got hit by a car.

Hmmm I'd say:

Ladies: ogugua88

Guys: MRbrownJAY

No offense to anyone I didn't mention. Its just that those two write in a manner that always seems to catch my attention regardless of whether I agree with them.

Sidenote: I like the OP of this thread [not because she mentioned me but because she's so laid back and cool.
Keep in mind that those high divorce rates are MAINLY of celebrities.  Many of these celebrities are not of American heritage and are immigrants from other countries.  My thing is this if other groups value their cultures so much then they will not be divorcing each other in foreign countries.

Someone said that you can take a lion out the safari but it would still be a lion that is used to safari lifestyle.   So the excuses for people blaming foreign countries for their inability to keep it real is sickening.

I agree with someone who said that their are African men who are killing their wives in America and these wives are AFRICAN WOMEN so what excuses do you have now?  None.  It is sad that one will kill before they will divorce someone they absolutely loathes and despises.

Sad.
In terms of media coverage, I would say yes many of those people in the divorce rate mentioned are celebrities but overall all, there is a high divorce rate in the US. And those people you mentioned not being of American heritage, although many of them may not be of American heritage, a lot of them are second or third generation children and are very much familiar with American culture. Its not like majority of them are "fresh of the boat" and have no understanding of American culture besides, if you do take a good look at some of these celebrities who's parents are not of American heritage you will see that many of them do come from countries where the sanctity of marriage is highly respected.

Yeah, I was old enough but I wanted a piercing before I was younger but I just didn't know which one I wanted.

Yes, there's a piercing Bible--just Google it and you'll see it.

Pweety4me, if you're on FB you can look up Elayne Angel and send her a message asking her about piercings. I have her on FB as one of my friends.
Suggested something to someone is telling someone suga.   wink  Otherwise, how would they know what you are suggesting?   wink
Sista Chima, I love ya girl but I gotta disagree with you there. Suggestion is not an order. If you and I are shopping and I see a nice item and suggest it to you, am I telling you to buy it? Or if you and I decide to go Six Flags and I see a ride and suggest that you go on it, I am telling you to go on it? No. Ultimately, the decision would be up to you because I am not forcing you to do it nor am I telling you that it is a must.

DaRapture:
I just wanted to know how many of you think you'll end up marrying a person of your own nationality or someone not of your nationality. This question is mostly for those who live outside of their native nation. I ask because I've noticed a rather high rate of African guys whom are not married, dating and or engaged to a African girl.

The vast majority of the African guys I personally know, especially the middle aged and young ones, are settled with mostly AA and White girls, and it's a shame that more African girls do not seek to date outside of their nationality or even ethnic group, because at the rate at which their guys are dating out here in the US,  well I'll leave it at that.
lol, the question should be will I even get married? Anyway to answer your question, with all honestly I don't know. I might marry a Nigerian and I might not marry a Nigerian--it's pretty much up in the air. I'm open minded when it comes to dating people of other nationalities, ethnicities, or religious beliefs. At times, I get the feeling I may not marry a man who is from the same national ethnic group that I'm "from". I used to think that even if I didn't end up with a Nigerian, I'd at least end up with someone who was African regardless of what region their from. Even if i don't end up with a Nigerian or African, I'm ok with the idea.

Pweety4me:
Been getting some not so encouraging comments about the piercings, can u guys tell me about your experiences?did people like friends or family condemn or advise u against getting piercings wat not?enlighten me, and what triggered your decisons to get piercings, and @ wat age if you may did u get your first piercings?

Would be really nice for me to hear from you guys. smiley
I laughed out loud when I read the part about friends and family condemning other about piercing because the only person in my family who knows I have a piercing is my sister. I did it without talking or seeking advise from anyone. Even if I had mentioned it before hand and she hated it, I would have still done it. As for what triggered my decision get my piercing, I'm really not sure but I love it. Although I only have one piercing, I'm very eager to get more. . . Oh and by the way, I got my piercing when I was when I was 21. Before I got my piercing, I made sure I did my research and checked out Association of Professional Piercers, The Piercing Bible, and a bunch of other sources. I even spoke to Elayne Angel the author of the Piercing Bible about the type of piercing I wanted to get. Pweety4me, don't be worried about what others think. As long as your ok with your decision then you should be ok.

Nerd, pls tell me what is the cause of all these problem between the OP and her boyfriend and lets see who's at fault?
Shouldn't that be something you should be asking the OP or her boyfriend? She mentioned that he's been like this for some time now, so if you want an answer then ask her yourself. All I did was lay out the facts.
