My appetite has always been for the other side of history, the politically incorrect dimension to accepted facts. All news today is nothing but propaganda-even when true facts are being reported it is done with an axe to grind. The other side must be heard as Chimamanda has warned about the danger of a single story.

Brilliant. I see that you read a lot. I find your ability to articulate very refreshing. Keep on educating and building your mind. Don't forget to be a leader with your intellect.

I think our Nigerian politicians need to hear this..beginning from Buhari To the Counsellor in our country..that their BRAINS will be configured to think that leadership is about serving people..that a nation exists to serve its citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.

Agreed. I hope our leaders can put people first. I hope Trump truly inspires our leaders to think in this direction.

I pray and hope that Buhari boys will read this message over and over again to know what a good and promise keeping administration is all about.

Nigeria has been in Recession since beginning of 2016 and the FG will unveil their so-called economic recovery plan in February 2017. You administrators never learn, this is the same way it told Buhari more than 6 months to appoint his saint-ly ministers.

Please be more proactive and not always reactive.

Obama had a thing against us....

*WHAT NIGERIANS SHOULD REMEMBER ABOUT FORMER PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA*:

1. He refused to visit Nigeria and flew on to Ghana.

2. He refused to assist us with the experimental Ebola drug when we had Ebola outbreak. Nigeria had to fight alone and we won.

3. He stopped buying Nigeria's oil for years. NIGERIA went from a supplier of 10% of US beeds to Zero.

4. He refused to classify boko haram as a terror organization even when advised to do so till they became top powerful and bombed the UN building in Abuja. Even after UN bombing it took two more years and 25000 Nigerians murdered for OBAMA to accept Boko HARAM was a terror group.

5. He refused to sell necessary much needed weapons for Nigeria to confront Boko Haram forcing us to fly cash all over the world to buy arms. This hurt Nigeria badly.

6. He interfered in Nigeria's presidential elections and did not hide his support for a particular candidate. Now he is concerned about Russia's interferrence in US elections what rubbish

7. He played politics of division by sending his Secretary of state Senator John Kerry to bypass the Southern Nigeria and hold secret meetings with only the 19 northern states governors and the Sultan of Sokoto. He went further to subsequently host 13 Northern Governors in the White House in Washington DC. Only God knows why he was trying to divide Nigeria in this way.

8. Even as we were sliding deeper into chaos and recession, and misguided Federal Government policies President Obama said our president was doing very well. Indeed after 5 million jobs lost, 11 currency exchange rates, inflation at 19%, a contracting, shrinking economy, he said doing well? How, he must have meant doing well for him Obama not for Nigeria or Nigerians.

For the above reasons and more, I and many other Nigerians say *good riddance to bad rubbish*

Whatever he did for Americans is their business. This is the Nigerian prospective. So Obama lovers can go eat their hearts out.

I am happy today has come

Foreign Affairs / President Donald Trump's Inaugural Address (Full Text) by Insightz(m): 8:46pm On Jan 20, 2017
Donald Trump delivered his first speech as President of the United States on Friday morning.

Trump was joined at the inauguration by members of his family, including his wife Melania Trump, and his children Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump and Barron Trump. Outgoing President Barack Obama, along with former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter were also in attendance.

Ahead of his speech, Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said the American people could expect Trump’s address to be a message to “unify the country.” “You’re going to hear a man of action, a man of resolve in what we all know to be a divided country,” Conway said Friday morning on CBS.
Read the full transcript of his remarks below:

[*] TRUMP: Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans and people of the world, thank you.

(APPLAUSE) We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people.

(APPLAUSE)

Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come. We will face challenges, we will confront hardships, but we will get the job done.

Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent. Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.

(APPLAUSE)

For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

(APPLAUSE)

That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment, it belongs to you.

(APPLAUSE)

TRUMP: It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.

(APPLAUSE)

What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.

(APPLAUSE)

January 20th, 2017 will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

(APPLAUSE)

The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

(APPLAUSE)

Everyone is listening to you now. You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before.

(APPLAUSE)

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction, that a nation exists to serve its citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.

But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge; and the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.

(APPLAUSE) We are one nation and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams. And their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.

(APPLAUSE)

For many decades, we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry; subsidized the armies of other countries, while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military. We’ve defended other nations’ borders while refusing to defend our own.

(APPLAUSE)

And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America’s infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay. We’ve made other countries rich, while the wealth, strength and confidence of our country has dissipated over the horizon.

One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind. The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.

But that is the past. And now, we are looking only to the future.

(APPLAUSE)

TRUMP: We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first, America first.

(APPLAUSE)

Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs.

(APPLAUSE)

Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength. I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never ever let you down.

(APPLAUSE)

America will start winning again, winning like never before.

(APPLAUSE)

We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams.

(APPLAUSE)

We will build new roads and highways and bridges and airports and tunnels and railways all across our wonderful nation. We will get our people off of welfare and back to work, rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor.

(APPLAUSE)

We will follow two simple rules; buy American and hire American.

(APPLAUSE)

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example. We will shine for everyone to follow.

(APPLAUSE)

We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones and unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate from the face of the Earth.

(APPLAUSE)

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

(APPLAUSE)

The bible tells us how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity. When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.

(APPLAUSE)

There should be no fear. We are protected and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God.

(APPLAUSE)

TRUMP: Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger. In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving. We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action, constantly complaining, but never doing anything about it.

(APPLAUSE)

The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action.

(APPLAUSE)

Do not allow anyone to tell you that it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America. We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.

We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow. A new national pride will stir ourselves, lift our sights and heal our divisions.

It’s time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget, that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots.

(APPLAUSE)

We all enjoy the same glorious freedoms and we all salute the same great American flag.

(APPLAUSE)

And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the wind-swept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they will their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty creator.

(APPLAUSE)

So to all Americans in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, from ocean to ocean, hear these words. You will never be ignored again.

(APPLAUSE) Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.

Together, we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And yes, together we will make America great again.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.

(APPLAUSE)

Thank you.

(APPLAUSE)

God bless America.

(APPLAUSE)

This is a list of all diplomatic missions in Spain according to Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_diplomatic_missions_of_Spain

As far as Biafra having an embassy in Spain, my research, there is no report, official communique, press conference or Spanish documents that shows the existence of such embassy.

BTW: Nigerians are so divided along ethnic lines it is out rightly embarrassing. Could someone kindly tell what the problem is between Yoruba and Igbo? These two tribes seem to eb on each other's throat.

And I noticed that any topic that touches on ethnic sentiments, Nairaland moderators would push it to the front page to further foment the issues further.

You are absolutely right. To really understand what is happening, one must try to balance everything and also put whatever is being said into proper perspective with an open unbiased mind. But hey, someone sitting 24/7 infront of CNN may be quick to throw barbs your way though. More divisions, racism and colour revolutions became much pronounced during these long 8 years. Not to mention the wars and fake promises of closing Gbay and bringing the troops home.

And Africans and Nigerians especially would be quick to rush into and take sides in (us) politics. Some even cried during the last elections. What a pity!

Always log out after transactions and ensure none of your log-in details is auto-saved on your phone or PC. By way of added security, you should use a lock app to protect the banking apps installed on your mobile devices, or better still hide banking apps.

Provided your PIN is not compromised, I see no reason for a PIN change.

If possible, do not enter public transport with your card. Robbers could hold one hostage, force one to reveal one's details and make withdrawals while one is still held. If one must travel with that card, one should use the card whose account doesn't have much money on it and still keep one's card where the unscrupulous persons may not see it.

If one is robbed of one's ATM card together with the PIN, one can call Customer Care to block the card provided one is not held hostage.

Beautifully summarized sir. My banking app is hidden all together. Nice tips.

Hello... My other moniker was banned. I ve gotten a reply from that guy. He claims the visa is out and I can now verify it. I need to show you some of things

He said I can verify the visa at www. omanvisaquery. com

I even went ahead to check it, but I couldn't verify the authenticity of the said visa I saw in that site. I can send you the Visa application number he sent me and also my passport number. I tried checking the visa status using the visa application number he sent me, on the site you gave me, www. rop. gov. om and it's saying invalid details

Hi man,

Sorry, I have been away from nairaland for a while. if I am not late to the party, I would advice that you exercise some caution though. I did the following research for you again:

1. www. omanvisaquery. com was recently registered, it is less than 1 year old.
2. The website is probably operated from the US.
3. There is no specific information regarding their connection with the immigration service. For e.g. they do not have service code
4. They do not appear to be validly registered for the said business.
5. The website is really unprofessional looking. It is not well designed
6. They cannot be reached by phone or email.

What I advice you to do:

1. Send an email through the email I posted here. Tell them you have a visa number that is not being authenticated
2. Ask them to authenticate the visa

This should clarify all issues for you. Send me copies of the visa application and the visa number. Use the email in my signature.

Meanwhile, DO NOT MAKE ANY PAYMENTS. DO NOT!

I need help here. I want to know if this stuff is real. I applied for jobs on a dubai based site, dubbizle.com

some time this month, I got a mail from a supposed firm in Oman demanding that I send my whatsapp number to them that I showed interest to work in their firm. I sent the number. They called me on whatsapp with a foreign number and I was 'interviewed'. I was also asked to scan to them the first page of my international passport, I did. Attached is the rest of the discussion.

I dont know if its real or the work of scammers. Also attached is the Offer letter they sent me

Thanks for sharing with us. We encourage Nairalanders to post stuff like this.

Now I have done some research for you. My breakdown is as follows:

1: Dubizle is a well known scam cesspool

2: The company 'oman airports management company saoc', to my knowledge does not offer job vacancies in seeb international airport (location of the restaurant where you would be working)

3: There is no midsummer restaurant in seeb, Oman ( I could be wrong).

4: They could have used muscat international airport (well known name than seeb) at least thats the name I found on the website

5: I couldn't find any 'Mohamed Sohaib Al Baari

6: I couldn't find Salman Elton Tinaj either. No linkedin profile either

7: What they are asking you pay is the e-visa fee. It does not cost 1000. The cost is 20 Omani Riyals!

8: That paper template is obliviously photo-shopped.

9: There is too much urgency in that message you posted

10: The employment letter is shabby

etc, etc, etc

Steps you can take:

1: Call or send email to the company in question. This is their official email.
feedbackmct (@) omanairports. com Phone numbers: +968-2-4-3-4-1-0-0-0

2: Ask them to send you the visa confirmation email

3: Ask them to send you the visa application reference number. You can then check the status yourself using this link: rop(.)gov(.)om

4: Use your common sense. Dont indicate you are desperate
