In a nation where corruption and brazen impunity, made manifest in all areas of our nationhood exists: there is a group of young people who have chosen to tow the path of integrity and true patriotism for our fatherland. We are the rays of light and ambassadors of a new nation.

Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was only a few meters from the finish line, but got confused with the signs and stopped, thinking he had finished the race. A Spanish man, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was going on, started shouting to the Kenyan to keep running. Mutai did not know Spanish and did not understand.

Realizing what was going on, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory. A reporter asked Ivan, "Why did you do this?" Ivan replied, "My dream is that one day we can have some sort of community life where we push ourselves and help each other win." The reporter insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win. The race was his."

The reporter insisted and asked again, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him and replied: "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of this medal? What would my Mother think of it?" Nigeria would be a better country if her citizens helped others to succeed instead of taking advantage of their weaknesses. Please don't spread the "Success must be achieved by any means" mantra as it is holding us back. In the end, we are all winners.

Is there any nation without criminals? Is Hushpuppi the only criminal caught? Remember six others were arrested with him. Why use a few to demarket everyone? How many presidents in the world have come out to demarket its citizens?

While the choice institutions are reserved for their cronies, they bring up this just to rub us oil on our lips and eat our boiled yams.

When last did we hear of open recruitment that was brought to a logical conclusion with fairness and merit in the CBN, FIRS, NNPC, EFCC, CUSTOMS, DPR ETC, but daily their wards and cronies are recruited and given appointment letters. A country where someone is being probed on how he spent billions meant for the welfare of the masses and he has the guts to fake fainting, in all these, nothing has been done to any of these men.

Nigerian Youths for how long are we going to continue in this? For how long are we going to keep quiet, for how long are we going to watch these men toy with our future and that of our born and unborn children? Its time to say enough is enough.

While nations maintain their sovereignty and protect the pride of their citizens, we have a different scenario.

Rag tag bokoharam and herdsmen bandits from Niger, Mali, Libya rape and rob us with reckless abandon. Our protection for international aid workers is zero.

Our president calls the noble youths as lazy and demarkets us before the world, no wonder we aren't globally respected.

So many rots in the system and everywhere. We have a country where someone is being probed on how he spent billions meant for the welfare of the masses and he has the guts to fake fainting. In all these, nothing has been done to any of these men.

It's unfortunate.

Why we get pained at such evil, we have a greater evil right before us as Nigeria citizens.

Our politicians are robbing us in broad daylight with all impunity. Unfortunately, we the youths choose to be helpless. But for how long?

Unfortunately, this is a country where a person steals billions of Naira and say it was swallowed by a snake, a country where an individual and his cohorts will steal money meant for the citizens and poor masses who do not have anything or anyone to run to and he burns a whole building in order to hide evidence. It's totally unfortunate that it's all about selfishness of our political class that brought us down to this level...

Do you know that Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa? Do you also know that it is ranked 27th-largest economy in the world in terms of nominal GDP, and the 24th-largest in terms of purchasing power parity, yet we are the poverty capital of the world with 94.4 million people (which are increasing daily) living in abject poverty, of which most are youths?

It's too painful that a nation which prides its soldiers as one of the best in Africa have lost power in the hands of a few bokoharam members, that's less than a Full Division of our army. My heart bleeds.
