All Nigeria banks are thieves and rogues. They get dollars from CBN at official rate of #450.00 or thereabout. When you ask them to sell dollar for you to fund domicillary account, they will decline and tell you they don't sell. They will now pack the dollars give their agents ( aboki exchanger ) and direct you to go and buy from them at an unofficial rate of #700 + per dollar. It will never be well with those bankers, and those that are making life miserable for common people |

Abakaliki—Many members of the Labour Party, LP, in Ebonyi State have reportedly been injured following alleged attack on the party’s loyalists at a rally by gunmen in Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area, LGA, of Ebonyi State. The gunmen, LP alleged, were members of Ebonyi Command of the Southeast Security Outfit code-named Ebubeagu. The gunmen, according to the LP House of Assembly candidate for Ohaozara East Constituency, David Ogbonna, shot at the party faithful and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on them. He alleged that they were led by the Chairman of Ohaozara LGA, Consider Ajah. Among others, Mr Ogbonna in a statement said “Yesterday (Saturday), as party faithful gathered at our (Labour Party) office at Mgbom-Okposi, waiting for the arrival of the Labour Party Candidate for Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency – Nkemkanma Kama, the men of Ebubeagu Security Network led by Ohaozara Local Government Chairman invaded the venue. “As they entered the venue, our campaign office, our supporters on the road waiting for our arrival erroneously thought we were the ones possibly because of the exotic car of the Local Government Chairman. “They rushed to warmly welcome ‘us’ only to meet young men numbering over 40 wielding all kinds of automatic guns who came down from the fully loaded Toyota Hiace Bus and Sienna buses and opened fire on Innocent people. They shot at the people and chased both men and women at the venue, making efforts to apprehend as many as they could.” Mr Ogbonna said three persons have so far been confirmed shot on their legs; one had his femur (bone of the thigh) shattered and had been taken to an Orthopedic Centre. According to him, “As at this morning of 13th November 2022 (yesterday), three of our supporters from Uburu who came with Labour Party Candidate of Ohaozara West are yet to reach home and their phones have not been reached. We are yet to establish a contact with the Personal Assistant, PA, of Labour Party Candidate for Ohaozara East Constituency. His phone has not been reached since he ran away from the event venue yesterday (Saturday). “Two of our supporters from Ugwulangwu are yet to reach home and their phones not reachable. Six women supporters from Ugwulangwu and one of our women leaders from Okposi who ran for their lives yesterday in the process lost their handbags containing phones and other valuables including cash. “One of women supporters from Okposi who was pursued, fell head-down on her way to safety and has remained unconscious. However, Doctor confirmed she’s still alive.” Mr Ogbomna also alleged that “all canopies, tables and chairs at the venue were badly damaged. The music box (Speakers) of the DJ was shot at by the Ebubeagu, damaging them near-irreparably and even confiscating some of his equipments. The drums of the Cultural Women dancers from Afikpo were destroyed and some seized. “The drum boxes of the drummers who were on the road waiting for us were destroyed and drummers beaten mercilessly. As at yesterday night, three of supporters from Ugwulangwu reported that operatives of Ebubeagu visited their compounds asking after them. As we write now, they have relocated out the community for fear of their lives.” Gathering illegal—LG boss But the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Mr Consider Ajah, denied leading an attack on the Labour Party supporters. He, however, admitted that Ebubeagu officials went to the area to stop the people gathered there from blocking the road, saying “We did not attack anybody. They were blocking the road which is a federal highway and we had to intervene to prevent them from disrupting people’s movement. We have a law that before you hold any form of gathering you must get approval from the local government for security purposes. But they did not do that. We have no interest in what any other party is doing but they should do the right thing at all times.” Ebubeagu Commander speaks However, reacting, the Commander of Ebubeagu, Nnanna Friday, denied that Ebubeagu operatives were in the area, saying “We did not attack anybody. They should stop mentioning Ebubeagu every time they have problems among themselves. They may have been attacked by their fellow members who they may have had a disagreement with and they now turned around and blame it on Ebubeagu. They did same thing recently in Izzi and we later discovered that they were attacked by their members.” Police not aware On his part, Police spokesperson in the state, Chris Anyanwu, said the command was not aware of the incident. He promised to make enquiry and get back to our Reporter later. He was yet to do so at the time of this report. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/11/2023-many-injured-as-ebubeagu-allegedly-attack-lp-loyalists-in-ebonyi/ |

Phenomenal105:Let me add to people's contributions here. You see, when you are into geo domaining, always let it be city plus product/s and not state plus product/s. For example: houstonconstruction, com. As you can see, Houston (city) is one the cities under Texas (state). And you know what, one city is available right now with construction/king for fastest finger. State plus product/s sells too but city plus product/s sells faster . And my believe when I started domaining newly that populous cities like Los Angeles, New yolk city, Chicago, Houston e.t.c have much more potential customers for my domain. Yes it's true, because I have sold domains in those cities. But my orientation changed when one of my domains sold, unexpectedly, in one of the cities with smallest population in the state of Minnesota. Since then,i started adding both cities to my product/s as far as they are available for registration. And God has been good to me. But be reminded that domaining needs patience, perseverance and hardworking when it comes to selling. Happy domaining ! |

![]() Today's Doodle celebrates Nigeria's Independence Day! On this day in 1960, the most populous country in Africa achieved independence from Great Britain. Celebrations start on the morning of Independence Day, when the President of Nigeria addresses the general public with a nationally televised speech. Nigerians then proudly sing the national anthem while raising the green and white flag — like the one featured in today's Doodle. Later on, the Nigerian Armed Forces march to the rhythm of thumping drums and perform military maneuvers in the nation's capital, Abuja. Many Nigerians spend the rest of the day enjoying traditional meals with friends and family. It wouldn't be a proper celebration without plantains and chicken served with jollof rice, a treasured Nigerian meal bursting with West African spices. Beaches are also a popular destination for family picnics, and later transform into outdoor clubs where the beat of fuji music continues into the night. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! https://www.google.com/doodles/nigeria-independence-day-2022

See the previous thread : https://www.nairaland.com/7337833/nigeria-police-authorities-pocketed-personnel Days after SaharaReporters' report, the Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has reportedly directed the immediate payment of the six months arrears of the new salary structure approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for the Force since 2021. SaharaReporters had exclusively reported that there was disquiet among policemen over how the leadership of the Force refused to pay up the six months arrears of the new salary scheme after the federal government had released the funds. Some policemen had told SaharaReporters that the newly approved salary structure, which implementation was supposed to have commenced in January 2022, started in July with only one-month arrears of payment. However, after the report, the Inspector General of Police directed that the arrears should be paid immediately, although it is not clear whether the payment will cover the entire six months, a police source has disclosed. “They had said such action of the police hierarchy was part of the reasons while there was low morale in crime fighting and a lot of police extortion being reported every day because those policemen have families to feed and they need money to feed them. If the authorities refuse to pay them, they use other available means to solve their problems including extortion from motorists and criminal suspects’ families. "Such impunity from the police leadership also encouraged waywardness and lawlessness from the personnel," one of the police sources had said. But an inside police source told SaharaReporters that immediately after the report came out, IGP Usman was jittery and on Sunday, approved the immediate payment of the arrears across the commands. The payment, according to the source, is supposed to start on Monday (yesterday). "We thank God that yesterday IG gave orders to MSS to pay the allowance but I can't lie, I don't know whether he gave the order to pay all the arrears. We just thank God and we should thank the Federal Government, if not, the plan of the police authorities was to ‘eat’ (embezzle) the money. Already they have started sharing the money among the DIGs and the top police hierarchy. "Although some DIGs refused to collect the money and I also believe that was what the IG feared and he gave the order to the MSS to pay the money. But we don't know the month, whether it is for one month, two months, three months or the entire six months; nobody is aware but he ordered that all the commands should pay the money to the entire police force. "Secondly, the issue of this our money; the fault is from above which is the IG. About two DIGs refused to collect the money, but regrettably even my boss, DIG Operations, he collected it. I am aware of that "When we came for interview, I noticed that something is wrong but God is with us because the Federal Government is not happy with the Inspector General of Police anymore. That is what is going on over here. My boys told me that the moment the arrears are paid, the salary will now follow," the source said. https://saharareporters.com/2022/09/19/breaking-nigerian-police-chief-orders-immediate-payment-new-salary-structure-arrears

Some policemen across the country have expressed their displeasure over how the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force refused to pay up the six months’ arrears of the new salary structure approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for the force since 2021. Speaking with SaharaReporters on Friday, some of them revealed that the newly approved police salary structure which its implementation supposed to have commenced in January 2022 only started in July 2021 with only one month arrears of payment. One of the sources decried that the federal government had released the money for the six months’ arrears but the leadership of the police starting with the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, had refused to pay it to personnel and could continue to delay the payment even as the country moves into general elections next year. One of the sources said, "The president last year approved the new salary structure of the Nigerian police which was supposed to start with implementation as from January 2022.” "Unfortunately" he said, "the implementation started July and arrears were only paid for just that month alone, meaning from January to June salary arrears wouldn't be paid because till date we have not been paid the arrears." Another source also confirmed that the government had disbursed the money to the police but the authorities refused to give the personnel’s due entitlements to them for selfish reasons. “All of us have not been paid the arrears of the new salary structure. Also, whenever the police personnel are promoted to the next rank, they are entitled to promotion arrears /allowance, but this present police administration had stopped the payment and they have been pocketing our entitlements.” According to the source, that was part of the reasons while there was low morale in crime fighting and a lot of police extortion being reported every day because "those policemen have family to feed and they need money to feed them. If the authorities refuse to pay them, they use other available means to solve their problems including extortion from motorists and criminal suspects’ families." "Now promotion does not come as and when due. It now comes after years and it will be backdated to enable you not to be paid," the source further lamented. He added that such impunity from the police leadership also encouraged waywardness and lawlessness from the personnel. https://saharareporters.com/2022/09/16/disquiet-nigerian-police-authorities-pocket-six-months-salary-arrears-personnel
