while we laugh we also report the shamelessness of our beloved country.
hariorh:

OP didn't say u shouldn't laugh. But then again, what's the point of laughing today and see more of these bloopers tomorrow? The future of this nation is been messed up by some bunch of disgraceful old men and the best we can do is to laugh...and continue laughing... Then what happens next

Obviously, we all pretend it never happens and continue to enjoy our "happy" suffering...

Mtcheeeeeew!!!

Even the jobless ones on NL are laughing... Guess its not dawned on them yet. angry

acidtalk or whatever your handle is called, i must say beyond point am not disappointed at you, you know why? at first reading one can easily guess and be almost right that you are a paid image maker, having watched the interview over again, you might take your time to watch it again too;one will realize that the man is a "No No" 85% re-directed questions, it simply means he (Lagos commandant)is not on top of his job, and by broadcasting this misplacement in our society, knowledge is gained!come to think about it, this same man would have at one time or the other disapprove the application of an applicant for such insignificant and non-beneficial reasons as you called it,don't tell me about power play, its time certain changes must be made.
acidtalk:
When a certain Nigeria Civil Defence Corp bigwig appeared on Channels Television some days back, a tsunami of various kind of jokes swept the entire airwaves and social media on how the guess kept on referring to his boss several times as "my oga at the top" and how the man basically doesn't know his organizations website address.

People of all ages and class had various Display Pictures on their Blackberry Phones, Twitter, Facebook and other social networking websites.

The mistake we all are making is we aren't concerned if the man was able to give substantial answers to vital questions thrown to him, example is clearing the air of the allegations made by the public that the agency is deep into job racketing.

If after posting dehumanizing jokes, graphical and video image on the man from National Civil Defence Corp it doesn't still bring abount accountability and transparency in the agency, then who is now the big fool? Is it the Man who kept praising "his oga at the top" while still getting kick backs from job racketing and other corruption based practices or the masses who were once making jest of the officer and are still jobless and with no hope of getting a job.

Nigerians should also realize they are doing the Officer more good than harm. Nigeria is a nation operated and governed on the basis of sentiments. Once you superior sees you as someone who is loyal and cool headed, they overlook your very great flaws which may include ignorance, corruption and even sluggishness.

A man who came on National Television to keep showring praises at "his oga at the top" even while being made to look silly is no where a fool. He understand the "Laws Of Power" as well as the Nigerian Hirachy rules and regulations and his acting according to the script perfectly. No one should be surprised if within a few months, this man that is being made jest of today for his ignorance is promoted severally even before his promotion is due.

The current president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is a typical example of someone who understands the Nigeria Policy. When his former boss and Governor of Bayelsa was facing allegations of money laundry and embezzlement by the EFCC and Bayelsa State. House Of Assembly, all indications were obvious of his boss impeachment and Jonathan rising to the number one seat of his state as Governor, he (Jonathan) was never in a hurry to take over power. He praised his former boss even after he became governor. Same scenario took place a few years later only this time he assumed the president of Nigeria. Yet with all the many flaws of Jonathan and his government today, never has once Jonathan come out to run down the late President Umar Yaradua or his policies while in power.

There are rules in leadership and followership and the number one binding rule is Loyalty.

For those mocking this man about not knowing his organization's website address, even though it won't stand as an excuse not to know it, do this people also realize that more than 95% of our present Bank CEO's do not also know their bank's website or slogan. Most Nigerian Senators, Honorable members, Ministers and Governors can't recite Nigeria's National Pledge not to talk of the Anthem.

Let's start tackling more inportant issues and look for solutions rather than being engrossed in irrelevant and nonbeneficial discussions.

Why Nigerians attacked embassy in Senegal – Envoy
The recent attack on Nigerian Embassy building in Dakar, Senegal was as a result of alleged disappearance of death body of a Nigerian from a hospital morgue, Nigerian Ambassador to Senegal, Mrs. Katyen Jackden, has said.
Speaking before members of the House of Representatives committee on Foreign Affairs yesterday in Abuja, Mrs. Jackden said the body of a Nigerian by name Kingsley Irogbulam was said to have disappeared from a hospital’s morgue in Dakar.
According to Jackden, Mr Irogbulam was allegedly pushed out of a moving taxi about October last year, an action that led to the arrest of five persons already facing trial in Dakar, but that when the burial committee, headed by one Pastor Vitalis Ugor made efforts to recover his body for burial in February, it was curiously informed that the body had been disposed of.
She further disclosed that on getting the information, the embassy responded by urging the Senegalese authorities to ensure a thorough investigation into the killing and also approved CFA95,000 (about US $200) to assist the burial committee procure a casket as well as pay the grave diggers and transport the body for burial.
She said the enraged Nigerians reportedly broke into Nigeria’s embassy building on February 4, 2013 and attack staff members, as well desecrating the Nigerian flag and destroyed other property, after subduing the security guards at the gate.
“If we do not use Senegal (the incident) as an example, it will happen elsewhere. There must be a disincentive for that,” said Rep. Nnenna Elendu-Ukeje who chairs the Foreign Affairs committee.

Denrele Edun, BBC Reporter & Fans Whitewash DBanj Over Koko Concert Mess.. http:///T953DWZ5
Micro-blogging site, Twitter, was agog with criticism of the end of the year concert by popular Afropop musician, Dbanj, tagged Koko Concert held at the Eko Atlantic Beach, Lagos .
Many of Dbanj’s frustrated fans who took to twitter to vent their anger described the concert as lacklustre and ill-managed.
In the past weeks, the concert has enjoyed alot of hype in the media and was one of the most expensive musical concerts in the country.
Some fans paid as much as N1 million to attend the concert which also has Hollywood actor Idris Elba; America rappers, Pusha T and Big Sean; as well as Nigerian-born British rapper Tinnie Tempah; on parade.
Fans were particularly disappointed by Dbanj’s performance. Many of them who went to the concert hoping to hear him perform some of his popular tunes were heartbroken as the musician chose to perform his most recent tunes that many have problems relating to.
“Dbanj does not have any song to sing.. Terrible. Let tomorrow come first,” said a fantweeting from the handle @RicDizZle.
“Sing Suddenly or Mogbonofelifeli if you know say e sure for you!” @RicDizZle
continued referring to some the musician’s popular tunes.
Dbanj, who is used to a mimed performance, had problems adjusting to performing to a live band, some attendees said.
“I think Dbanj is the worst performer of the night #kokoconcert. Easier to perform with aCD. Live performance no be beans [not easy],” said a fan tweeting from the handle @ebraheemshehu
“I have a lot of respect for #Nigerian artistes who perform with a live band but i don’t think #Dbanj killed it today. #kokoconcert,” said Fidelis Mbah, a reporter with the BBC.
“That’s not a live band, just a bunch of confused electricians,” said another fan tweeting from the handle @TheBlackHermit.
Insulted fans His woeful performance aside, many of fans, who stayed awake all night to see him perform at the concert and those watching the live stream of the event on NdaniTV, said Dbanj’s worst blunder of the night was when he said: “The people wey pay me money na dis side dem dey” (those that paid me are on this side) while apologising to those at the VVIP section of the concert for below-par arrangement made for them.
At a point he even asked those at the popular and VIP sections to apologise to those at the VVIP for the inconvenience they suffered.
Fans at the popular section and VIP paid 5,000 and 20,000 respectively. Many of his fans who felt insulted reacted sharply:
“Disgusting that he only keeps apologising to VVIP. The 5K ticket holders are the real fans and the ones promoting his music . Shame,” said a fan tweeting from @Rebl_jade.
“Dbanj needs to stop acting the fool with this VVIP thing. So rude!” said @EniolaHundeyin
“And he had the nerve to ask the 5k & 20k people to aplogise to the VVIPs. I say it, the concert was an allegory for Nigeria as a whole,” said Tola Sarumi tweeting from @AfroVII.
“Only in naija (Nigeria) you pay for something and STILL get insulted. Customer appreciation? Absolute zero,” said a fan tweeting from @kennagq
A complete mess
From tiresome trek along the sandy beach, inadequate parking space, to Dbanj’s fake American accent, the general perception was that the overpriced concert was a failure.
“The worst day of my life! Dec 29th, Koko concert. Despite d negativity, I managed to hold my head up nd stay positive! Home now..#NeverAgain” said eccentric Channel-Opresenter, Derenle Edun.
“Call me a hater but Dbanj is too big of an artist to be putting out mediocre shows like that!! #kokoconcert,” said @natashamutale
“This guy better not be planning to drop any album soon. People will refuse to even bootleg it,” said Tome Buluku tweeting from the handle @IamTome.
“There’s def no koko concert next year sha. Not with this crap,” said Yemi O tweeting with the handle @mimio193
“D
“D’Banj speaks like Igbo man from Iweka Road now,” said Onyeka Nwelue.
“@iamdbanj sold more VIP & VVIP tickets than d no of seats available..we had to hustle for seats..pathetic,” said Tokunbo Otitoju tweeting from the handle @fimiletoks
“In Koko Concert, Money can’t buy class. LOL. 1M for table no mean you no go do endurance trek to and fro,” said @Shimoshi1.
Hmmmmmn… DBanj had better watch it oo.

Nairaland / General / Aircraft, Truck Collide At Lagos Airport by ipasco: 9:57am On Oct 11, 2012
A Kano-bound IRS Airlines plane departing the Lagos airport on Wednesday morning collided with an abandoned truck beside the taxiway, forcing the pilot to cancel the flight.

The wing of the Fokker-100 aircraft, it was learnt, collided with the truck which fell into a drainage on Tuesday.

The truck belongs to a Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria contractor.

The 91 passengers on board the flight were later disembarked and put in another plane which left for Kano three hours later.

A statement by the Managing Director of IRS, Mr. Yemi Dada, confirmed the incident.

The statement quoted Dada as saying “This morning our flight LVB 3306 taxied out on a Lagos to Kano flight with a transit stop at Abuja. The aircraft taxied out at 7:48am with 91 passengers. While taxing on the taxi way the Captain observed a FAAN truck in a ditch. There were no marshals around it neither was there any marking to indicate that it encroached into the taxi way. There was no Notice To Air Men (NOTAM) issued to that effect as well.”

He added, “The captain continued on his taxi and the wing tip hit a protrusion from the truck towards the rear of the truck. This made the captain request a return to ramp from the tower and also notify the tower of the incident and the danger posed by the truck.

“The passengers were disembarked and accommodated in another aircraft which departed Lagos at 10:15am. The incident has been reported to Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and we await the clearance of the NCAA to effect repairs and return the aircraft to service.”

A FAAN statement also confirmed the incident.

A statement by the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Yakubu Datti, said, “At about 8.30 pm last night (October 9, 2012), a gully emptier with registration number XT 461 LSD on official assignment accidentally fell into a drainage in the taxiway ramp of GAT and could not be evacuated immediately.

“At about 7.30am of today, October 10, 2012 an IRS aircraft, Forkker 100 with registration number 5N SAT left the parking bay of MMA2 for the threshold of runway 18L of MMIA. The pilot Capt. D Kelly of IRS was informed by an Arik Pilot of an obstruction on the taxiway towards Runway 18L and he (Capt. D. Kelly) felt he could manoeuvre the obstacle by his own judgment but this failed because the tip of the wing of the aircraft collided with a section of the gully emptier at about 7.45 am.”

It added, “Capt. D Kelly did not stop but continued to taxi back to the boarding gate of MMA2 to discharge his passengers. No passenger or crew sustained injuries as a result of the incident. All the passengers were later transferred to another IRS flight to Abuja. Officials of the Accident Investigation Bureau and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority were immediately invited to the scene of the incident for the on-the-spot assessment of the incident while engineers of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria were placed on stand-by to evacuate the stuck sewage tanker as soon as preliminary investigations by both AIB and NCAA wer
