OXYGEN01: I heard this SAD news on BBC and I want to find how true that is. Is this the nigeria in West AFRICA or a different nigeria in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Sixty dead in suicide blasts in Nigeria
Two explosions by female bombers hit crowded market in Maiduguri in the northeast of the country . Two explosions at a crowded market in northeastern Nigeria have killed at least 60 people . The twin bomb blasts, thought to have been carried out by female suicide bombers, hit a market in Maiduguri , the capital of Borno state . " After the first explosion happened and people started to gather , a second explosion took place," Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh , reporting from Abuja, said. Soldiers and police officers cordoned off the area while rescue workers helped survivors to the hospital . Hospitals have been flooded with injured residents, Al Jazeera sources said. No official statements have been issued yet . Maiduguri is a stronghold for the armed group Boko Haram . Borno state is one of the three states in northeastern Nigeria that are under a state of emergency because of the ongoing violence . Towns seized Also on Tuesday, government and security sources told AFP that Boko Haram had taken over another town in Nigeria's northeast . Maina Ma 'aji Lawan, who represents Borno in Nigeria's senate , said the group was in control of the border town of Damasak. Nigerian soldiers and hundreds of residents fled across the frontier to seek sanctuary when the heavily armed fighters opened fire on traders on Monday morning , he said . " There is not a single male in Damasak," Lawan said. " Boko Haram is in control because all males and soldiers have fled. " Boko Haram has seized more than two dozen towns in Borno and neighbouring Yobe and Adamawa states, marking a change in strategy from its previous trademark of deadly hit- and- run strikes or high -profile strikes against government , police or military targets . The group wants to create an Islamic state in northeastern Nigeria and has seized several towns Ehen?? What u should be doing is praying for calm to return to those places and incase u haven't noticed...u're on the wrong thread...I suggest u start up a new thread with the name: "Oh...how I hate everything Nigerian!" that should suffice for all intents and purposes! Abeg better pple any update 4Biggie's house??Nepa don show their talent again! |

ShortPistolZA: Yes, Raphaella! Love for flying? Are you a pilot or a wizard? LOL!
I understand what you mean. Some books do make us see things differently, which is why reading is vital. It broadens the mind & makes you start to think outside the box so to speak. LoL...neither of the above...but sometimes I wish I had some magical winsh winsh(witch) powers |

ShortPistolZA: Perfect Stranger was a lovely book though. Quite touching. The lead female character was Daniella or some other exotic sounding name. That's the only book I love from the woman. The rest I'd use them as a step ladder. Mushy crap. LoL...true! it's Raphaella....i have a special fondness for wings coz it sort of laid d foundation for my love for flying...Sidney sheldon's Larry douglas in the Other side of midnight built on it. There's this Danielle steel book I read about the Vietnam war...can't remember the name again...was nice too! |

ShortPistolZA: I can't finish a book by Danielle Steel. It's too...Yeah. Yeah....i read a couple of her books;daddy, wings, perfect stranger etc and at the time I couldn't complain much because I was in junior secondary and still a Mills and boom fan...lol |

ShortPistolZA: LOVE John Grisham. Read A time to kill & The pelican brief. Brilliant work by the man. We have The firm so I'll check it out. LOL @ Nora Robberts. Too flowery for me. Similar to Danielle Steel. I'd rather read Sandra Brown or Jackie Collins It won't be fair to put Danielle steel on d same pedestal with Nora Roberts...Danielle might seem like she's a romantic writer but she ends in a sadistic/realistic way. I love John grisham, Sidney sheldon, fredrick forsyth and Robert ludlum! |
