Amberon: I see some muslims here slamming Trump...lol
Hilary Clinton has been at the corridors of power for over 30 years... 30 freaking years, she has had such debates numerous times, so why won't she be winning debates against Trump who is just a first timer? Its one thing to win debates, its a whole other thing entirely to win at the polls. Moreover many polls are also saying Trump won. We all know the mainstream media including CNN will route for Hilary.
Hilary knows she has nothing on Trump nowadays that's why she has resorted to cheap blackmail. Trump's tax audit is out...where are Clinton's 33,000 emails? Hillary have been in the corridor of power for past 30 years and have lesser scandals compared to a newcomer. I still don't get why someone in his right sense will support Trump. He is against the establishment? I laugh in Swahili, Establishment that he has been dinning with for over 40years. He cared about veterans? That's also laughable, how can someone that deferred deployment 5 times know what it takes to be a veteran? Damn |

The opportunity to also successfully work as an entrepreneur is amazingly impressive. The challenge is with the individual.....not being prepared for the future by our pre-entry counselor s/advisers. ibx1976: My good people I am in a bit of a situation here and would like to hear from the community. I have lived the last few years in the UK and can say I am in a reasonably "settled" place in my life except for one thing: I don't have a wife and I am getting old!.
For the last few years, going by people's advice I thought it was best to cultivate a relationship here with someone here in the UK, learn about them and settle.
It has not worked out for me. Maybe its my luck, it has not quite worked with me with the ladies over here. I always end up with someone diametrically opposite to my goals and aspirations. The idea of marrying an Oyibo is even worse - things just did not work out in that direction either.
To compound the problem, I my job does not allow me much of a social life. I just cant make it happen without help.
On a friend's advice, I have been invited to come back home to naija and see how things can work out. I have therefore taken a months leave and am headed home for the next 1 month. Our plan is to visit a few good families and places to see if anything can materialise from that.
My people any advice on this? If you were in my shoes, how will you conduct this affair. What will you look out for. What will you avoid. my advice for you is to look for a lady from a wealthy family, the kind girl that won't love you because of your money, a gal brought up with money won't misbehave when she sees money. My 1 cent advice. |

Romance › Kilt For Scottish Men by ipledge10(op): 9:35pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
If you have you have been to Scotland, or watched some Scottish movies, you would have seen some Scottish men putting on kneel level pleated skirts. The pleated skirts are actually called KILTS, and it has been around for as far as 16th century. The word kilt is derived from the ancient Norse word "kjiljt"means clothes that are tucked up. It was worn traditionally as full length garment (usually 5ft wide and 21ft long) with belt by the Highlanders in Northern Scotland in the 16th century.
kilts are make with Tartan, tartan is a fabric with horizontal and vertical stripes with different colors. The interwoven stripes are called sett. Most of Scottish clans have their own particular types pf tartan, so many Scottish wear tartans that belong to their clan, but their is no law prohibiting them from wearing tartans of other clans.
For many centuries, English try to subdue kilt as it was seen as a rebellious symbol. It was even outlawed in 1746 by King George ii with his dress act policy. This does not stop the Highlanders from wearing Kilt as a form of protest. The ban was lifted in 1782, the kit wearing Highlanders were seen as fearless people, and many of them are recruited to join the king's armies, and they were sent as far as India and North America.
Starting from 19th century, they are not being use as a day to day clothes, but as clothing for special occasions like weddings, funerals, family parties, and festivals. They are also worn by Highland dancers, Highland band. Some army regimen also have kilt as part of their uniform, the last time kilt was used to fight war was during was during World war ii.

Politics › Re: POLITICS OF BETRAYAL: The Unfair Criticism And Treatment Of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu by ipledge10(m): 2:33pm On Sep 27, 2016 |
DanielPop: Tinubu is a political weight no doubt but never a heavy weight. His precedent i understand very well but clearly it isn't a product of sound, logical and practical strategy but more of a strategy carried on the wings of graft and violence. No real brain. If he had applied brain, he would have been conscious of Law 1 in the 48 laws of power - "Never outshine the master."
Constantly reminding Buhari that it was Tinubu's benevolence that put him there has inspired fear and insecurity in Buhari. Tinubu has therefore become an enemy and a threat. So Buhari, in the power game, has to eliminate that threat Tinubu poses.
Secondly, Tinubu haven infringed on Law 1 has inspired Buhari and his henchmen to activate Law 15 "Crush your enemy totally." All great leaders know that a feared enemy must be crushed totally because if one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually breakout. The battle started as soon as Buhari won the election and will end when Tinubu is destroyed economically and thrown in jail.
As for Tinubu crossing over to PDP. Ask yourself, will hardcore PDP yield up their party to Tinubu? Let us assume for a moment that they will. It will be only to regain power using Tinubu like CPC used him. Once that is done, Tinubu will again come under the hammer. Why do i say this, he has infringed on Law 3 "Conceal your intentions." Every one knows that Tinubu is driven by insatiable lust for power and wont stop until he attains the ultimate prize. So, once your power intentions is known openly, adversaries will prepare their defense. Every political bed Tinubu steps into going forward will keep his bed partners on their toes planning to do him political mayhem after using him. Just like Buhari is doing.
So what is the way forward for Tinubu? Recoil back into prebendal politics to reclaim his "famed West" from the hands of "friends" that he oppressed while he held sway as Lord of the Manor, if he can. Those friends are now dining with Buhari who has wooed them using Law 12 "Use Selective Honesty and Generosity to Disarm your victim". They are being deceived and manipulated at will by Buhari and his forces to betray and finally destroy Tinubu.
So can Tinubu regain the West? I say if he can because he has lost Ondo and will lose others....even Lagos if the forces against him play unlike Jonathan. They will!
But Tinubu can redeem himself in the eyes of the South. How, by deploying his "political machinery to ensure that PDP captures Edo State. If he does this, two things will happen. PDP will see a frenemy (Tinubu) that is useful and both will rub off on each other. PDP to power in Edo State. Tinubu - a message to Buhari that i am still the toughest. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Remember this Tinubu because you have nothing further to gain with Buhari!
Watch out in the coming months in this onslaught on Tinubu. so there are still brilliant people on nairaland...This thread reminds me 2012/2013 Nairaland politics section |
Politics › Re: POLITICS OF BETRAYAL: The Unfair Criticism And Treatment Of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu by ipledge10(m): 2:11pm On Sep 27, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista: There is no entitlement in politics my brother. We supported the ascension of Saraki and Dogara to weaken APC NOT Tinubu as a person, that was politics. A weak APC is a blessing to PDP just like a divided PDP is the joy of APC. There shouldn't be emotional bitterness in politics.
However, politics has to do with alignment and realignment to fight a common adversary. The CPC/ANPP and some ungrateful "ACN" members sees Tinubu as a common enemy and Buhari a common project, the PDP has no problem with Tinubu but Buhari seeing that we want to dethrone him(politics), for Buhari's men to have their way, Tinubu will have to go down. This makes Buhari be the automatic adversary of Tinubu, hence, both PDP and Tinubu share common adversary. Why can't both come together and have a well defined understanding to protect their interest and face a common political adversary that enjoys powers of the State?
Bro, BAT is a politician and this is politics. #IStandWithBAT this guy can sell Nigeria. |
