Nigerian Army troops has octogenarian, 3 women and 4 children after overcoming Boko Haram in Dalu Village within the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State following credible intelligence report on the presence of some of the criminal insurgents in that area. According to the report released by the Nigerian Army headquarters on Sunday, Nigerian Army in their reinvigorated drive to end the insurgency in the North East, troops have continued to sustain the tempo of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency operations in the North East

The report reads; "In their reinvigorated drive to end the insurgency in the North East, Nigerian Army troops have continued to sustain the tempo of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency operations in the North East with a view to decimating and destroying the remnant Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) criminals across the Operation LAFIYA DOLE Theatre.

"In one of the numerous operations conducted across the Theatre today, 16 November 2019, troops of 26 Task Force Brigade embarked on a Clearance Patrol to Dalu Village within the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State following credible intelligence report on the presence of some of the criminal insurgents in that area.

"Fortunately, the report was confirmed as the troops soon established contact with the marauding terrorists and effectively subdued them with their superior fire power during the ensuing fire fight. Subsequently, the troops proceeded to thorough clear the Village of the presence of the criminal insurgents.

"The clearance operation yielded good dividends as the troops found and rescued an octogenarian, 3 women and 4 children hitherto held captives by the criminal insurgents. The rescued victims were promptly evacuated and children among them were equally administered with Polio Vaccination by a Nigerian Army medical team.

"Interestingly, no causality was recorded by own troops during the commando operations. However, many of the Boko Haram criminal elements were observed to have fled in disarray towards the summit of Mandara Mountains with gunshot wounds.

"The troops’ resilience and doggedness are unwavering as further exploitation to complete the annihilation of the insurgents is being sustained in the mountainous environment.
"The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai wishes to reassure the general public of the resolve of the Nigerian Army to continue to execute our constitutional mandate professionally and responsively for a better secured Nigeria.

Three health workers have been arrested by the Monitoring Team of the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Felix Obuah, over indiscriminate dumping of clinical wastes by the roadside at the Akpajo Roundabout off Oil Mill Junction in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

In a press statement signed by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Bro. Felix Obuah, Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) and made available to journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday, Obuah said the health workers were caught dumping some clinical wastes which include syringes, placenta amongst others on the road side.

He said the culprits who worked for a private clinic in the area, identified as Fruitful Maternity and Clinic, were caught in the act and promptly arrested, and handed over to the Police attached to RIWAMA Police for interrogation and prosecution.

The Sole Administrator said investigations by his team revealed that so many clinics, hospitals and health centers in Port Harcourt are culpable in this practice and warned that the Agency is on their trail with a view to bringing them to book.

The RIWAMA boss, while also condemning some traditional delivery homes, who engaged in the unwholesome practice, warned that the Agency would not spare any defaulter caught in the act. He regretted that aside the indiscriminate dumping of clinical wastes, these health workers also dump refuse outside the Agency’s approved dumping hours of 6 pm to 12 midnight.

'Went away' Nigerian singer, M-Kaze has fired back to Madirox Bryan to being offended after he was billed to pay N300,00 for collaboration. BelieveSpot report.

Unidentified gunmen have attacked three Bille passenger's boats en-route Port Harcourt from Bille kingdom in Degema Local Government Area fatally wounding three and carting away one of the boats. One of the attacked boats is said to have family and guests of a wedding taking place in Port Harcourt.

The attackers forcibly dropped passengers of the first two boats in the creeks and went away with their belongings. A third boat sent to rescue the passengers was perforated with bullets from the attackers' guns which led to the dead of two persons and the boat is feared sunk in the middle of the river.

According to Awaji George, reports says ,the incidence has made the Degema Local Government Chairman, Mr.Tony Philmoore, to cancel his trip to Buguma, headquarters of Asari Toru Local Government Area where the father of former Senior Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Special Projects, George Kelly, is to be buried.

Dr. Philmoore is at press time monitoring and coordinating security from home. Information from some quarters says the pirates may not be different from the ones that attacked a Port Harcourt bound boat from Bakana last Friday because of their modus operandi and timing. Meanwhile, Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer Mr.Nnamdi Omoni says he is yet to be briefed on the ugly incident.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested a man believed to be impersonating Officers of the commission. BelieveSpot reports.

According to the information released by the anti-craft agency, Mukhtar Bello, a graduate from the University of Tampa Florida was arrested in Kaduna when he told some ladies that he was an Officer of the EFCC.

The Commission on Twitter said: "The EFCC has arrested a 43years old Mukhtar Bello who has been impersonating officers of the Commission."
