Religion / All Mental Health issues Are Not Spiritual, We Must Know This As A Church by IrepChrist: 1:29pm On Nov 12, 2022
*1 Kings 19: 4*
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree; and he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, O Lord, take away my life, for I am not better than my fathers.”

Elijah the prophet wanted to die. He asked God to take his life because he had come to the conclusion that he was a failure. Elijah had just been victorious in the showdown with the 450 prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. God had sent fire down from heaven to consume Elijah’s sacrifice (see I Kings 18:17-40).

In addition, the prophet had predicted a terrible famine, and the Lord had not sent rain for three years. After that time, Elijah prayed for rain, and God produced a torrential downpour (see vv. 41-46). God was working mightily through His servant Elijah. This made him very unpopular with Ahab and Jezebel, the wicked king and queen of Israel. We read in I Kings 19:1-3:

And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.

When Elijah heard Jezebel’s death threat, he fled for his life.
He traveled about 100 miles from Jezreel down to Beersheba, located along the outer border of Israel.
Considering all the powerful works the Lord had just performed through Elijah, it is hard to understand why the prophet didn’t stay and face Jezebel, trusting God to protect him. Instead, he fled into the wilderness and requested to die.

We can say he became lonely and somewhat depressed. But God encouraged him through the ministry of an angel.

Mental Health issues are extremely serious and sensitive issues. Depression is real and suicide cases are on the rise, especially amongst our youth.

Please, no matter what you may be going through do not give in to the voice in your head suggesting that you end it all.

Suicide doesn't solve but instead multiplies the problem. Besides, a living dog is still better than a dead lion.

Please let us endeavour to look out for one another. Things may be rough today but there surely is hope in our future, and it shall be well in the end.
God bless you.

To everyone who is called by Jesus Christ to the Kingdom of God is the same work given.... and the judgment that awaits all the same. Every man is called to obedience and doing that which Jesus Christ did and even more. All are called equals with the same job to do and the same end goal to accomplish in the end - do that which Jesus Christ did and more. All who fall short of that goal have themselves to blame. undecided

You are correct we are all commissioned as believers but some are called into the assignment of propagating the Gospel full time. Perhaps they would be pioneers of a vision and while others follows to support the vision.

He is first and genuine child of God and then he have the fruit and the gift of the holy spirit . You see bah, I am one of those who will not rush people into that idea of starting up a ministry. Because so many people rush into it because they felt it's another option for survival. Hence many may have be called but few are chosen.

Religion / Signs That God Might Be Calling You Into Full-time Ministry by IrepChrist: 6:44pm On Oct 29, 2022
Four Signs that God Might be Calling You into Full-time Ministry

1. A Profound Impression from God

When considering whether or not you feel called to ministry, check to see the genuineness of your passion for the things of God whether you expect some benefits in return or just a genuine love for souls.

2. Confirmation from others:
I have a friend in the ministry whom I have known for years. He loves God and he is anointed he is not a lazy man. One thing I know is that, God will not put grace in you and expect you not to profit it for the furtherance of his kingdom. I told him to start from somewhere. Thank God he did.

If something similar has happened to you, and others have commented on your life in a way that seems to direct you toward the ministry, that’s a very good sign that you’re probably called to go into full time ministry.

3. Reoccurring Thoughts for Ministry
Sometimes God will put something in your mind and continue feeding it back into you until you decide to do something about it. This is actually a strategy God tells us to use in Luke 18, when he uses the parable of “The Persistent Widow”.

This is something that has happened to me, consistently, for the past two/three years. I just couldn’t stop thinking about ministry. It just kept popping into my head over and over again. Even after surrendering to God’s call, it’s still always in the back of my mind.

If ministry is something you can’t stop thinking about, it’s very likely God’s calling you to ministry.
If ministry is something you can’t stop thinking about, it’s very likely God’s calling you to ministry.

4. A Passion for the Job
The final indicator for a call to ministry is a deep-rooted passion for the type of ministry God’s calling you. That could be missional work, pastoral work, church administrative work, worship ministry, or any other position in the light of ministry leadership.

If this sounds like you, and you have a genuine love for what God is calling you to, that’s a strong indicator that you’re being called to full time ministry.

5. Visions and dreams:
I have had personal encounters in dreams and in those encounters I would see myself standing before multitude preaching the gospel and in some I will be laying hands on people and I see them receiving their deliverance. Though I am not into a full time ministry but I am actively involved. Your dreams are expression of what should be your realities sometimes. So please pay attention to your dreams and seek for God's direction.

Good.

But they should be honest. Making, announcing and implementing cashless policy do not require a redesign of the Naira notes. They should stop lying. Cashless policy is not the reason for the redesign.

I have an important question. What is the cost of redesigning the Naira notes? In 2008, an economics teacher told me and my classmates that the government was spending the sum of 1,320 Naira to print and import 1000 Naira note. The teacher said the minting was not done in Nigeria. I don't know how true it is. It might be true. It might not be true.

The cost of printing our notes is more than the value of the notes. He is right but I don't know the actual figures.

Been married for over 5 years now and ever since my wife gave birth to my first child, I've been suspecting that it's not my child due to no sense of resemblance.

I finally did a DNA test but unfortunately the result shows that I'm not the father of my first child. No doubt my wife loves me so much and honestly she has done a lot, sacrificed alot for me.

My conscience never allowed me to end the marriage because honestly she is a good wife one could ever ask for though she has her bad sides.

Since the result came out, I never told her or confronted her because I'm very very certain that once I confront her the marriage will end cos alot will happen but everyday once I see the boy and remember, I get so angry but after some time when we are all playing as a family I will forget.

I still do everything a father could do for his son. Honestly it's not easy to forget about everything.

What do you advise me to do guys?

I really don't think this should end your marriage. You need to make up your mind to forgive her because once she opens up, a whole lot will be revealed but these are in her past.

Let the Child know his or her real father now it may damage him/her emotionally if he knows in the future.

2 Timothy 2:15
'Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved,
a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed,
accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth.
'

I've no apologia for correctly explaining the word of truth, especially if 2 Timothy 2:15 advices us, to do our best to present ourselves to God as one approved, as workers who does not need to be ashamed and who rightly divides the word of truth, correctly handles the word of truth, who properly makes known the word of truth without deviation.

The biblical times believers addressed, greeted, called and referred each other or themselves as disciples (i.e. Acts 1:15), as saints (i.e. Acts 9:13, 1 Corinthians 1:2), as believers (i.e. Acts 5:14, Romans 1:16; Acts 10:45, 1 Timothy 6:2), as brothers (i.e. Acts 6:3, James 2:15), as witnesses (i.e. Acts 5:32), as followers of the Way (i.e. Acts 9:2, Acts 24:14, 22) and even as Nazarenes (i.e. Acts 24:5).

Jesus asked the disciples:
''Who do people say I am?''

Then after the disciples gave all manner of answers, He zeroed in.
''But what about you?'' He asked.
''Who do you say I am?''

You know what Mike008, you are not defined by what others call you, and so, believers too, are not defined by what the people of Antioch called us. What the people of Antioch, said about the believers is not a reflection of believers but a reflection of the people of Antioch, known for their penchant of giving out nicknames, especially nicknames with bad meaning or connotations, to others.

You could see in Acts 26:24-29 King Agrippa bible passage, talking of Acts 26:28 verse to be precise, how the king sneered at the word "Christian", meaning that King Agrippa certainly wasnt emphasising any Christlike nature at all, but in fact found the word to be repulsive to him

Apostle Paul before Agrippa avoided using the word Christian, and he did the right thing of not using the word because saying the word would be him joining in profaning Jesus (i.e. Christ-anos)

Apostle Paul, as seen in Acts 26:27-28 above, had a golden opportunity or chance, in front of king Agrippa to admit he is a Christian (i.e. Christ-anos), but he never allowed the epithet word, roll off his tongue to confirm and describe himself as that is who he has become. Why? It is because Apostle Paul, knew he wasn't a christian (i.e. Christ-anos) and so wouldn't agree to be defined as such or accept to be described as such

If only more christians, properly read their bibles, there'd be less christians and/or less Constantine christians

King Agrippa, the person, who used the Christian (i.e. Christ-anos) term around Paul, is a hardcore and die-hard Jew and knew exactly what he was doing and saying, by using the Christian (i.e. Christ-anos) word around Apostle Paul.

Agrippa, not only a Jew but a king as well, deliberately and calculatedly, tried to hurt Paul's emotional state, frame of mind, sensibility and/or sensitivity.

Now read what Tacitus, a senator and historian of the Roman Empire, once wrote about the early believers:
''Those who were vulgarly known by the name of Christians''

You see Mike008 beloved, certain truths, can only be clearly seen or understood with the wisdom of age and grace of God. In fact, in youth we learn, in age we understand

I adjure you to go learn the meaning of what the people of Antioch and King Agrippa were implying when they used the term Christi-anos pka Christian because when the Christi-anos or Christian mocking term was coined by the people of Antioch and when it was used by King Agrippa, it actually means quite the opposite of ''someone who is christlike''

Mike008, you strain at a gnat but easily swallow a camel of a lie, falsely claiming that the word Christian etymologically means Christ-like, when it actually is a case of Genesis 4:26 (i.e. At that time, profaning the name of the LORD began.)

John 3:3-7
3Jesus answered him,
“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again
[reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified],
he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.
4Nicodemus said to Him,
“How can a man be born when he is old?
He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?”
5Jesus answered,
“I assure you and most solemnly say to you,
unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.
6That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical],
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7Do not be surprised that I have told you,
‘You must be born again
[reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].’

Fellas and ladies, watch and with rapt attention, watch to this. You can see, experience and feel the power of America, but for you to enter into America, you must meet certain criteria, as no one ordinarily enters America anyhow or just like. Thats simply because certain requirements must be met

Kk, lets head back to the Nicodemus' clandestine private meeting, he had with Jesus (i.e. John 3:3-7 above)

At John 3:2, yes, Nicodemus recognised, admitted and confessed that he has observed the demonstrated power and moves done by Jesus, and all these events and occurrences that left him with the impression that they were all of God, so at John 3:3, Jesus informed Nicodemus that, its only a person born from on high or above, which also is known as being 'born again' (i.e. regenerated or renewed essentially) that is capable of seeing, that all those events and occurrences, the demonstrated power and move done by Jesus are all of God.

Then to buttress and reinforce the point, Jesus after seeing that Nicodemus, looked puzzled about being told of 'born again' then at John 3:5, went further, to explain that its combination criteria, that is required for, to enter the kingdom of God even. The decider, qualifier, or the game changer is to be both born of water (i.e. the amniotic fluid) and born of God (i.e. the Spirit)

Yes, we all (e.g. Rahab, Ruth, Simeon, Job et cetera) get born of the Spirit, from the moment will believe. Now as believers, the instalment of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of the Spirit soon after follow in tandem

Now here's an interesting fact, naysayers, scoffers, mockers, cynics, pagans et cetera dont see, never see and never will see anything good about the kingdom, for the simple reason because they are not born again. They are not born from above, and so are not spiritually rebirthed aka not regenerated, or nor renewed.

It's more the reason, we have atheists, it is because regeneration has not taken place in atheists and all and this is why they are quick to rubbish and/or never want to acknowledge any moves, demonstrations and power of the kingdom of God. They dont believe who Jesus is, that He is God and that the miraculous signs are evidence that God is with Jesus, who is the preincarnate and incarnate God

So that's a modest bird-eye view of what it means to be born-again. Born again, is meant to be a given. To acknowledge God, to accept, confess, recognise, appreciate, own up, concede, realise and admit occurrences or events of the demonstration of the power of God is proof that one is born again aka born from above (i.e. anew).

Born Again in regards to believers, being a given, is the reason why Jesus never publicly preached about it. The state of being born again only came up for discussion accidentally, and even Jesus reprimanded Nicodemus for being a teacher of Israel and not knowing biblical basic no-brainer things, such as 'Born Again', 'seeing the kingdom' and 'entering the kingdom'

Abraham, Moses, Nicodemus the disciples the Apostles et cetera were all born again, aka, born from on high, born of the Spirit.

Wike hasn't a Scooby Doo idea. He doesnt know that every believer by default is born again, meaning it is unlikely that a believer is not born again.

Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories.

Thanks for your analysis. Today, being called a Christian has been underated. A born again Christian is an emphasy on our Christlike nature. If truly we are genuine there should be no difference.

It was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians,” Acts 11: 26.
This verse narrated the event that led to disciples being called after the likeness of Christ. Acts 11: 19-26 — It's a privilege that we believers today are called Christians because it emphasize our Christlike nature. Why are the disciples not referred to had born Christians?

Recently a prominent politician said I am a Christian but not born again. It sounds sarcastic. We should stop drawing lines between these nomenclature.
