Idrismusty97: Beauty contests have economic value if managed and staged appropriately, but this ---, I really don't know. Using our scarce funds to sponsor either bible or quran re-citation competition is utterly absurd. And to think this is coming from an APC state is more disappointing. 6 Likes |

mohemola: No, it wont be an issue. You would get the points for your highest degree (BA) as long as it's assessed by the stipulated assessing bodies (WES, etc) and you would likewise get value for your work experience as long as you have the appropriate reference letter. 1 Like |

Doggys: Your son would need a passport. Start gathering your POF; ideally, you are required to show a 6 month average of the minimum value required for your family size. I don't think you can use the ref number on Monday to create your EE profile, as you may be required to fill in the date on the ECA document. |

deesmom: The NOC is okay, however, make sure your job description match the job description detailed under the code (6314) by CIC On your IELTS; I would have advised you visit their office in Ikoyi and discuss the issue with a very senior manager. I believe you have a case as you made yourself available for the pre-test registration. However, on a second thought, I would suggest you re-attempt the exam as you lost substantial points for language because of your 6.5 in writing. Try and aim for a 8.5,8,7.5 ,7.5 (LRSW) |

Bigprozzie: I wonder the zombies liking your post? My political ideology leans towards APC as a result of Buhari's anti-corruption stance, however, am not blinded to stark reality. APC's excuse of tanker explosion in 2008 obviously does not hold water as such fire would have burnt off their uniform. We have a bigger concern as a nation right now---- a local terrorist group that is "possibly" armed with deadly chemical weapon. This changes everything and tilts the odds against our gallant soldiers!!!! Even the bravest of the soldiers would be shivering at the moment; an AK49 against a lethal gas. 1 Like |

TonyeBarcanista: This is so pathetic. So because they sent unanimous warning before acts of terrorism suddenly makes them a lesser evil. Scores of people died for crying out loudm By the way, what's the morals of this threld? Blow up innocent people and your daughter gets a celebrity like wedding coverage while others mourn the death of their daughters. 2 Likes |

britiko: Yeah, she could explore the thin line between head of operation and team leader operations. Don't forget that CIC tends to match job description ahead of job title. For instance, If her duty as a back-up to the head of operation closely matches the job description specified by CIC, I opine that she might be okay using that NOC (of course with a caveat). |

britiko: There is an NOC related to customer service representatives that is classified as skilled; it's a supervisory/manager role (not sure of the NOC). She may want to check out the job descriptions if they match her roles in the bank. |

Ekicedar: Oh!!! If you are just creating your profile on Express Entry, it's okay to include ONLY the work experience you are claiming points for. The personal activity thing only applies to your post-ITA application form while lodging the visa application. |

chimali: 1. Don't panic on the high CRS, I believe the CRS cut-off would come down with time. How fast it does depends on CIC's disposition. For instance, if CIC decides on a draw next week, say -- 1500 candidates (with 1 week wait interval), the score would come crashing to 460 range; and a subsequent draw within 2week would send the cut-off to the regular glass floor of 450. Suffice to state that the cut-off could easily hit the 450 range within weeks depending on the frequency of draw and the number of applicants drawn. 2. There are a number of Provinces that would nominate you without job offers. Get a list of all the provinces in Canada and search for the provincial nomination programs. Jesustheway seems to know so much on PNPs, am sure he would be glad to guide you. If your score is above 450, I wished I could advice you to wait it out till the score comes down, but no one is sure if the new liberal government would adopt the regular threshold of 450, or go higher, or possibly lower. |

Ekicedar: Don't put them under employment history, but you MUST include them under Personal Activities (not sure of the exact name). If you include them under employment, the system would prompt you to upload supporting document for the work experience. |

Etfash: Aya!!!!, you got me wrong sir. I called it fair because I had anticipated it would be higher than the penultimate draw score (489). Cut-off score usually shoot up when there is a gap of more than 2wks in between draw dates. In this case, the score came down marginally. Regarding the possiblity of keeping the cut-off score consistently that high, I opine that it's not sustainable. The scores would come down to the 450 range again, possibly in feb/mar; or in Jan (if they draw every 2wks). In all, it all boils down the disposition of the new government. |

Ekicedar: Write out your detail job description in line with reference letter that would be provided by your employer. Then compare them with the job description specified by cic under 4163 and 1114. You should select the noc with with closest match (possibly 70-80%) |

Issydebo: If only politicians would stop making insane promises just to curry electorate's vote. The good thing is that they are not processing the refugees' pr outrightly. The plan is to rush up their basic health and security checks, grant them temporary visa, resettle them this year and process their pr over next year. Even with approach, they would still struggle to resettle 25k refugees before xmas |

Yettyseye: Guarantee on visa: depends on so many moving parts. Honesty of your application. Genuineness of your supporting document, level of your attention to details, and the God factor. Duration: 6 months after your final application submission. However, before then, you have to create a profile on express entry and get invited (ITA) to lodge the visa. How fast you get an invitation depends on how high your crs score is. First step, go through the info and links provided by zandora on the first page. Do a pre-assessment to determine if u qualify. Arrange for IELTS exam and ECA assessment. With both the results, create a profile on express entry and wait for an ITA 1 Like |

ssemire: Yeah, it should. Make sure your LOE details Company Name, Address and your role in the company. The whole essence is to prove to CIC that you were not somewhere engaging in criminal activities (fraud, terrorism, etc). |

fphumie: It would be nice if you can detail them in the format of proof of fund as specified by CIC, i.e. for each POF type (Bank, insurance, Co-operative Bank), the POF document should detail Account Number Account Name Account opened date Account type (e.g. saving, current) Account status 6 Months average balance All outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans (where applicable) Must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address)." Additionally, you can back these documents up, with the regular 6 months account statements printed on the financial institution’s letter-head. In the events that you cannot get your financial institution to produce your POF in the format above (with the details listed above); your regular financial statement may suffice, with a detailed letter of explanation. I should also state that I have my reservation with insurance savings as some are usually locked-in over a period of time (2,3,4,5 years). You may want to clear up that grey area, i.e, that the "account type" is indeed a saving account; and that you have access to the funds in the account at any given time. If you have a contract document (that you signed during account opening) to back this up, it may be of help. On Tbills, I know they are acceptable for POF, however, I do not know how CIC assesses instruments that are yet to mature. 1 Like |

zandora: Do you think it could have been better under Activity. If she had detailed it under employment record; the system (EE) would have generated a menu for her to upload her proof of employment (reference letter, etc) for that entry. The system assumes that the applicant is trying to claim point for each entry. However, if you have it under activity, CIC gets a comprehensive details of your activities over the last 10 years (with not gap at all) and the EE system would not prompt you to upload any reference letter. I would think the way forward for her is to provide those details (Employer, Employer's address, Job title & description, duration, etc) both via email and the case specific enquiry (CSE) link. 1 Like |

ssemire: I reckon you failed to detail your NYSC experience under activity section. Nothing to worry about though. If I were you, I would explain in details what i did during my service year and support my explanation with as many documentations as possible, e.g the company/organization I worked for, address of the organization, my job description & title, and of course the duration. I would provide every string of evidence to back up my explanation. Which month did you submit your application? |

romefe: I would say, don't take chances as those guys verify virtually everything; most especially if their SOP says the officer must verify. I believe you can endure 3 weeks without a car as they have relatively efficient transport system over there. On the other hand, I am not sure if getting a Nigerian international drivers license would help for those 3 weeks. You may want to do your further investigation as to it's acceptance in Canada. |

zandora: For the OP, it still boils down to if he/she has an ITA, otherwise, he/she would be wasting money in doing it over again. For instance, I rushed to do my PCC in February hoping I was going to be drawn with the next draw; unfortunately, CIC waited for another 4 weeks to make the next draw and I was not fortunate enough, until another 5months. I see no point in doing PCC ahead, except for countries like the US, etc where PCC processing takes over 2 months. Same goes for medicals, doing medicals far too early enough cuts into the time you & family have to land after getting your COPR. |

JesusDWay: That was not mistake sir, not all applicants on EE need an ECA depending on the category (FST, Canadian Masters). I stated that to de-emphasised the weight his/her agent placed on transcript/ECA. More importantly, I did go ahead to advise the OP to get his/her ECA done. Thanks for the heads up though. |
